This is the worst auto loan company I have ever experienced. Actually the WORST loan company I have ever experienced. If you are offered a loan with them by a dealer, request a different lender.
I don't even think this place that calls itself a bank really is a bank.
Their are 2 ways to pay your car loan other then auto pay.
You can pay online or call their toll free number.
If you call the phone number you are now directed to a 3rd party that isn't a bank. This 3rd party charges a processing fee. What kind of bank wouldn't accept a payment and has to outsource to a 3rd party that definitely is not a bank?
If you call their toll free number and tell the person you're calling regarding your auto loan. You're told they can't help you and you have to use their on line services.
At night their computer system is turned off for an updating period of 3 hours. I believe this is midnight to 3AM central time because I've called around 11PM pacific time the system was down. One night I happened to be up all night. Figured if it was down at 11PM is should be up at 2AM. At 6AM it was still down.
What bank has their computer system off for the weekend. Come on folks. It's not a person on overtime. You can't make a payment on the weekend because their system is off!
I complained about this on their contact page. I received a 2 page letter from a member of their Executive Customer Relations Dept who only signs her first name. Most of the letter explains that I signed a contract with them agreeing to their terms and a full copy of my contract. I have nothing wrong with their terms. It's Ally Bank I have issues with!
She tells me if I wish to contact her I can call a toll free number and enter an option, then another option, then an extension number. I call that number and it immediately goes to a voicemail. No options. She tells me in the letter if I have problems with their website I should call a different toll free number. I try that number and the number doesn't even ring. Just silence. She also explains that if I wish to make a payment by by phone they use ACI Payments Inc That it is ACI who adds the fee to a payment. This makes sense. ACI needs to make money to process a payment.. Why would a real bank use a payment service? banks deal with money in and out so why are they outsourcing a payment. Banks don't do that!
Stay away from Ally. Nothing is good about them
