Next level waterproofing (NLW), Decatur, Alabama
I have received a notice that I was to pay $50.00 to the above company through Angi for the cost of transportation to provide a quote. While I would rather receive a legitimate invoice directly from the service provider, I decided to proceed with the $50.00 payment. When I initiated the payment process, there was suddenly a change to $500.00 which immediately caused the cessation of any further payment efforts on my part.
I had asked Angi for contractors associated with recent efforts to correct mildew levels in my home. NLW has a contact number [[protected]], but the person answering this number is not a representative of NLW. They reside in Decatur, Alabama. Further, their Web Site claims that they do not service my zip code {35055}.

Dishwasher repair
I called on May 6th and came out on May 9th for a Samsung dishwasher repair tech and not knowing angi sent me a Peter Spano from 30 minute service and repair. He knew nothing about dishwashers and told me I need to change my breaker. Without giving me any estimate he went into a junk box he has in the back of his pickup truck and said I need a ark fault breaker and just went ahead and put the breaker in and still the dishwasher did not work. He said he will have to order a part. He gave me a bill for $592.00. He said the breaker was $240.00 and the part he is going to order is $139.00 and service call is $105.00 plus tax. I told him that was a used breaker he put in and he denied it. I had my electrican remove the breaker and it was a rusty breaker with the white wire cut off. I call him and told him he even added wrong and added $97.00 extra to the bill. He said he will be by tommorow to give me the cash. He nevered showed up. I had a Samsung tech come out and in 10 minutes he noticed a cap was missing inside the tub. He replaced it and the machine was fixed. Peter scamed me into paying for something he knew nothing about.
I want my money back and he should not be in business.

I cancelled a yard clean up... One man showed up at my home with a lawn mower. I told him the job was cancelled... Angi charged me $471.00. They refuse to give me a full refund.
I have been stonewalled by them for hours today.
They are dishonest and refuse to be understanding of how dissatisfied am with their policy. Customer satisfaction is not important to them. They refuse to allow me to talk with higher management.
Desired outcome: Full refund. They promised not to deduct from my bank account until services were rendered... they did anyway with no services rendered.

i set up a date with [protected] to clean my floors and bathroom we had it all set up 10 am on saturday was a no show called and text no reply. i waited and waited no show not a good business practice will try another company now

TMC tile and marble of Pb, Inc
This company did not do an acceptable job on my Back splash and bathroom tile. Sloppy work, Edges of back splash was lumpy and tacky paint chipping off around the edges. Light panel switches was not put back , left open dangerous.
Painting in the kitchen was not covered over from the green paint previous on wall. Tile in bathroom lumpy and tacky around the edges. Bathroom ceiling was damaged workers, did not repair after he was told. My bathroom door was scratch and damage. They also blew out the electricity in my kitchen couldn't use for days. Made me buy more tile than I need and he took tile with him. Leaving this review to warn other customers, looking to use this company. Im an older lady an I think he took advantage of me. Thank you

Lawn care
Angi's list sent 2 contractors with 32 inch garden tractors to cut 3/4's of an acre.
In my estimation neither completed the job and I don't like paying for incomplete
work. I was not able to communicate effectively as it seemed neither had a grasp of the English.
The whole experience with Angi has been very negative since Angi employs PRO's and staff that are difficult to communicate with. Not only that they want paid regardless of whether the job is finished or not. If you give them your payment information your money will be taken regardless of the completeness or quality of the job. This is not a win for the customer but it sure is for Angi.
Lastly, there is no way to call them. I have looked everywhere for a phone number but have yet to find them.
Desired outcome: Either finish the job or forfeit your pay.
Tried to cancel contractor and was successful except angi wants to still charge me. I have trying to cancel for four days! Make it impossible
First time the cleaner showed up with her barely 4 yr. Old child to do the job. That was unacceptable, so rescheduled. Meantime the house was sold and I didn't need the service soi have been trying for four days to cancel. The new guy named eric texted me and I explained the situaion. He was ok with cancelling. He couldn't get ahold of angi, I have to and finally got to talk to someone and he said I still have to pay because it was less than 24 hours. Angi makes it impossible to actually talk to anyone or to cancel a service. It's a scheme to get your money for no service. Never recommend them for anything.
Desired outcome: Make sure I am NOT charged for no service done.
Same here. I just made sure there wasn't enough in the bank to cover it and they won't be able to attach my wages either. If they still try to collect, I WILL take them to court.
They will over draft your account I promise best thing to do is have the money in there then dispute it when its gone through. They do not care I have been over drafted quite a few times. Canceling your card might work though.
Bathroom Reno Project

Unreliable, untrustworthy, uncommunicative contractor - beware;
took thousands of dollars, set multiple installation dates, which he did not keep and did not inform the client of any changes - forced client to loose paid income, to attempt to contact him, while he laughed on a phone or did not bother to respond. Gave various mixed (health, weather, etc.) excuses that may or may not have been truth - lied on next steps - took none.
Absolute nightmare - had prior companies doing same - most likely has been running scams for years under different names.

I contacted Angis list on the 26 of May and got an appointment for someone to come on the 28th. They were supposed to be here between 12 and 3 pm. They never showed up nor did they call to say that they were going to be late or that they were not coming. My grass really needs to be mowed since my usual guy had a heart attack. Charged for a no-show
DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE. I made an appt to have a Handyman change overhead lights in my condo and change AC filter. The appt time came and went and no one showed. When I called AL, I was told that the Handyman "said he had some type of personal emergency" and he would not be there. I was disappointed at his not offering another time, but the Lady I talked to assured me I would NOT be charged. Several hours later I checked my bank account and I could see a charge of 125.52 had be debited from my account - and the same amount credited back. All on the same date. Today I see the 125.52 once again debited from my account. The Rep at AL says it will take 3-5 days to put the money back. I still have to hire someone else, so I need MY money back to pay them. These people are NOT Trustworthy. They should have a -0- rating.
Desired outcome: I would like a refund - as quickly as they took it out of my bank account

Was quoted a price to replace the windows and vinyl siding on my house here in gulf breeze. Gave them a deposit to but the supplies and got the vinyl but got the run around about the windows. Am out 4000.00 dollars after not recieving a refund for the windows and had to hire someone else to do the vinyl siding. Am hiring a lawyer to take them to small claims court

Kinetico, Inc, DBA NorCal Water of Placerville, Ca.
If you are thinking about doing anything well water related I would suggest you do not do business with this Company. The owner's name is "Cody." "Cody" thinks it is appropriate to charge people a $175.00 service fee when their equipment stops working and when his own technician advises him the resin bead of the water softener is "shot" and under warranty. After being told this by his own technician, Cody refused to fix it. In fact I contacted Kinetico, Inc. and their solution was to call another Kinetico dealer in the Bay Area, over 100 miles away from where I live. ( Kinetico, Inc. could care less and their solution to this problem was utterly ridiculous.)
I submitted a complaint to the Ca. State Contractor's Board about the facts of this case and after months of waiting was told there was nothing they could do to make Cody honor Kinetico's warranty, "because I touched (fixed) the equipment" after Cody refused to do so.
I fixed the equipment by replacing the resin bed, which Cody's own technician diagnosed as "shot." The same tech obtained approval to replace the resin bed directly in my presence.
After nobody contacted me I was introduced to"Cody." Cody told me his tech does not know what he is talking about and he should not have told me what he did. Cody then told me he would replace the resin bed, but called back that evening and advised me he would not replace the under warranty resin bed.
So, after being told this by Cody I ordered resin beads online and replaced the resin bed myself. Time was of the essence as my well water was not having any iron removed and our household water was orange.
Low and behold, replacing the resin bed fixed the problem.
The Ca. State Contractor's License Board ( Shelly Beard) was advised in writing about all of these facts. She asked me what I desired to be done in this matter. I told her that I want Kinetico (Cody) to reimburse me for the cost of the resin beads I had to purchase...since Cody unilaterally decided he was not going to honor Kinetico's warranty. I also asked that Cody replace a regeneration disc, since I also installed an iron backwash filter and did not need the water softener to regenerate as frequently.
The iron backwash filter should have been installed in the first place. The reason Kinetico decided not to install what I (actually) needed was because I knew little to nothing about well water treatment at the time and a water softener is twice the cost of a backwash filter. ( In all fairness Kinetico was owned by a different con man at that time)
Ms. Beard did not call me back so I e-mailed her. the following day Ms. Beard left a message telling me that Cody was not reimbursing me anything, "because I touched their system." Ms. Beard closed her message to me by telling me there is, "nothing I can do and I am closing the case."
So, I hope many potential customers will see this post. If one decides to do business with this Company don't be surprised when you end up with iron laden well water staining your appliances, your clothes and your skin as you are forced to bathe in iron laden water.
Kinetico is not going to honor their own warranty and unless it is profitable to them they are not going to help you.
In regards to the Ca. State Contractor's License Board let me save you a lot of time and effort. They are completely feckless and are not going to help you or any other consumer.

I had large shower put in. Wanted to have one down to florr as we grow older to use. Beautiful shower, But inside door to get out of shower started to close by its
self. It has been 3 weeks since I sent text, phone call to them. Go an answer week I was on list. Not where how long just on list. I just sent a video to show them how it closes. Still no answer. We paid promptly. I see no reason not to let us know when to expect approximately when they will come. I am so unhappy and disappointed.

Carpentry done by wave construction-citrus heights ca. 95610
Wave Construction, David Andreyev, constructed a Redwood Deck and Pergola in my backyard in Nov.2020. I paid Wave construction over $18,000 for both projects combined. The Pergola exceeded the maximum allowed height of 7 feet per City of Roseville Code requirements. I was cited for the violation and paid another contractor to correct the Pergola to code ($3,500) because Wave Construction after notice was not willing to do so. Although the Contractors board had cited David Andreyev for violations, I did not prevail in small claims court because David Andreyev had quietly added a statement to the contract without my knowledge or any discussion, that relieved him of liability; He would not be held accountable is the statement. As a senior citizen, I missed the statement because it was probably on a day I wasn't as alert. Then too, I thought I could trust this contractor. I would advise customers to carefully select contractors and read the contract thoroughly.
Desired outcome: David Andreyev should have corrected the Pergola or compensated me to some degree for what I paid the other contractor.

I made an inquiry through Thumback and began to complete information when I noted Angi coming in. I deleted the information and did not hit submit for any estimates nor contacts. Contractors then began contacting me for estimates and when I advised I did not complete an inquiry request there were two who were quite upset "cost them $150.00". I believe this type of activity is a scam in my book. You provided no support of an inquiry to charge anyone as I deleted any inquiry for estimate.
Desired outcome: That honesty become best policy and the charge to any contractor that was not solicited should not be charged.
Refrigerator repair
5/16/2022 between 4:00pm and 6:00pm. I had an appointment for a technician to repair my refrigerator. Nobody showed up, nobody gave me the common courtesy of a phone call. It is now 6:45pm and still a no show from the technician. I called to register a complaint and the call resulted in zero help. The person I spoke with refused to provide me with the name of the company who was contracted to perform the repair work. They did; however, provide the name of the discourteous technician, a name I have already forgotten.
Whoever was to come out to see me should be immediately fired. They provide a seriously bad reflection on Angi, not that it is needed from the negative reviews I've read. It seems like a trend.
You have lost my business!
Do not call, do not respond. I want nothing to do with Angi ever again.
Desired outcome: Fire the incompetent technician. Go out of business!
Flooring installation
We hired Fresh Flooring & More, Inc. last summer, 2021 based on their connecting with us after searching for one in the Tampa area through Angie's List. They did the first job we asked their help with, but since then, we have had multiple cancellations from them to complete the flooring in my mother-in-law's condo unit.
We have travelled there from North Florida (5/14/22), only to receive communication that they would not be completing the flooring installation this weekend. We have spent money on the flooring and the materials and the travel. Fresh Flooring & More, Inc. is not a reputable business and does not stick to their word even with a quote sent via email.
Run away from this business and work with a business that will actually do the job!
Desired outcome: No one to use their business in the 34205 area. They should not be receiving business when they will not stand by their word and quotes for jobs to complete. Especially for almost 80-year-old clients!
You don't get any lead but you will only lose your money
I am doing a local moving business, I searched online to find more moving leads thet's where I come across a company by the name https://www.angi.com and I applied online. on the same day Mr. Zaki called me and offered 22 to 30 moving leads from Queens Borough NYC. but I have to pay $400 upfront. but I didn't have money he convinced me saying one move will give you $400 then you got 21 more leads, I have arranged the fund and paid online but then the contract was for a year (12 consecutive months) and my debit card kept on file.
after made the payment, he wouldn't answer my call - then comes different departments of Angi asking me to get the reviews of my previous customers, and I have requested my customers to write review in their platform, they said all works through their App - but unfortunately you cannot find the App in the play store (then they sent me a link to locate their app)
after my clients wrote the reviews, they wanted to call my clients and get the test and confirm. in other words I have to promote their business by my hard work.
then 3 business leads came in the app, but none of the customers will answer, if was definitely fake leads. then comes some leads from Pennsylvania - they knew for sure I cannot handle the move from Pennsylvania -
from the day one I have asked a refund, but they don't answer my emails but someone will call and say some other department will call you - finally they have decided not refund my money.
please don't get in to their trap -
Storm door installation
I agreed to what I thought was a flat fee installation of a storm door that I was going to have the service provider purchase. They said they had car trouble and that we would have to reschedule the initial appointment. Okay, not a great start, but that's understandable sometimes. A week later they text me saying they will be 15 minutes late to the rescheduled appointment. They ended up being 1.5 hours late. They stopped by and I gave them the cash, told them what I wanted and told them where to get it. They said they would provide the receipt and the change from the transaction since the amount of cash I gave them was more than the list price of the door. I just wanted to make sure they had enough money to make the purchase when taxes were added to the price. They came back about 45 minutes later and started working. It then took them 6 hours to install a storm door that the manufacturer claims can be installed in about 2 hours. They left without telling me they were done, so I never got to see the receipt or get my change (I gave them $250 for a $200 door). They texted me that they were done. I looked outside and they had already driven off. I then later found out that I was being charged extra by Angie based upon how many hours the service provider took to complete the project. That seemed extremely unfair since I have no control over how long the project takes and was not aware that I would be charged extra in such a scenario. If anything it seems like Angie should be punishing the service provider, but instead they have chosen to punish me. Doesn't this practice just encourage unethical service providers to take longer than necessary to make extra money? I feel embarrassed in a way that is similar to descriptions I've heard of the embarrassment that scam victims feel. Deceptive and unfair for sure. I don't see myself ever using this company again and would like to warn others of their unfair and deceptive practices. Home Advisor was marvelous before it was bought out by Angie.
Desired outcome: An apology and a complete refund.

House cleaning
I booked a move-out cleaning for my home 2 weeks in advance. I got several reminders and responded to all requests for more information. My contractor never showed and didn't respond to my calls or to Angi's. When I got the contractor's voicemail it was for an auto design company in a city 35 miles away. Such a waste of time, and now I have to unload my car and stay in my empty home overnight waiting for a different cleaning service to come tomorrow since no one can come today. Why would they book my house cleaning with an auto designer? And why didn't the professional ever contact me or Angi in any way? I will NEVER use Angi for anything ever again. They didn't even try to find a same-day replacement service. I didn't even know Angi was Angie's List. I used Home Advisor to compare quotes and the one that I chose was for Angi so I assumed Angi was a cleaning service.
Desired outcome: Just trying to prevent others from having the same awful experience. If you do book with Angi, get your contractor's info immediately and confirm with them directly.
