Home Generator not being repaired
The repair started 10/28/2022.
I replaced the starter battery.
The service tech. removed all the old gas and put in fresh.
He verified that gas was flowing.
Could not get generator to start.
Said he would have to do some research and get back with me.
I have not heard anything from him since then.
Do I need to get someone else?

I filed this complaint last week. I called ANGI's for a plumbing issue. Our address is 26468 Greenbriar Lane in Warsaw, Missouri 65355. They gave me the phone number of Adam, who at the time I did not know where he was coming from. Made an appointment for Thursday October the 20th at 10.00am. He didn't show up until 2:30 that afternoon, saying he had to take his helper back to Jefferson City, Missouri, which is at least a 2 hour drive to Warsaw. If I had known he was coming that far I would have called someone local. I should have known better because last time I used your company you wanted to send someone from Oklahoma. Anyway, long story short: He came said he fixed it and left. However, the toliet still leaked. Texted and explained and he said he would come back. A no show. Called and left a message and no response. I would very much like my $180.10 refunded. We ended up fixing the problem ourselves.

I contacted Angie’s list and asked for a licensed plumber to fix a shower body leak - instead they sent a salesman who tried to tell me that my entire house needed to be re piped for thousand of dollars - the salesman offered to work with me and lie to my homeowners insurance in order to put in a false claim . When I finally got him to focus on the original job, the salesman said 900 dollars to take a look - when I said i would only pay 300 buck and that would include repair, the salesman called his boss and said yes , he would fix leak right away. The salesman went to get his tools , said he was missing a part and would be right back - I never heard from the salesman again. Angie’s list is a crooked company preying on senior citizens . Buyer beware.

Please save yourself a headache and NOT use Bitner Brothers. The work was so poor that I had to have the foundation replaced already. they started the project of putting an 5X14‘ porch on our house, they started the project in June 2019 and didn’t finish until the end of October.
He then accused me of owing him another $1,500 when I only owed him $500. and pulled his crew off the job before it was finished due to “lack of payment”. I had proof of payment, spoke to Elka the office manager and she also agreed that the payment was made. I asked her the email me the receipt of payment which she never did. My husband and I had to finish the porch ourselves.
Even if you take him to court (which I did) he did not pay me the money I was awarded.
This man needs to held accountable for his actions, but he knows the system and how to abuse it.

Referred contractor took $3,000 never did anything
My wife and I needed someone to install a fence at the just purchased Elizabeth City NC home of our son in August 2022. A request for contractors was made in responding to "Home Advisor powered by Angi" advertising the firm could provide "qualified and screened service professionals".
Black Diamond Home Services llc of Hertford, N.C. was referred. It is owned/managed by Cassandra Leah Fischer and staffed by Marcus Wayne Quintana who responded to phone calls by my son overseeing the project. Quintana provided an estimate, required $3,000 for materials which was paid by check then never returned to the job site. He quit answering calls.
Home Advisor by Angie promises "if you're not satisfied ...we'll work to make it right". Requests / demands for Home Advisor by Angie to cause Black Diamond Home Services provide the work they were paid for went nowhere.
Desired outcome: Do an actual background check - prior customer satisfaction as well as criminal history / corporation checks Make me whole ... remit $3,000.00
Detail Design & Remodeling (Owner Robert Warren)
Replaced cabinet facings in kitchen in May 2021, In August 2022, one of the cabinets began separating at the tongue-groove connection. Company refused to repair the faulty cabinet under the prescribed Warranty and Remedies section in the contract and instead claimed that the damage was from "water damage" as determined from attached photo. I had to pay $150 for the new cabinet door when it should have been covered at no cost since there was NO WATER DAMAGE. Recommend this company be avoided.
Desired outcome: If this company is on "Angie's List" they should be boycotted.

The technicians were the worst representatives I have ever met. The tech team intentionally misled my wife at both visits. Tyler blatantly lied about the assessment of my attic.

Last Friday, Oct 14, I used your service to get a repair done on a Maytag washing machine. I had to schedule for the following Monday, Oct 17. The tech was friendly, but showed up 90 min late. I had to order parts. She said she would return when parts came in. She has not returned my voice mail or texts. I've already spent over half the cost of a new washer for this service plus buying the parts. I should not have to spend more money. I already took time off from work to have this repair done.
Desired outcome: Either refund my money or send someone to finish at no additional cost. Let me know right away.

I received nothing but bogus leads from states way out of my area and was still charged a ridiculous amount each month. Angie is the biggest scam I've ever fallen for. Spoke with then incessantly texted by Alex from [protected]. Was texted that a typical price for sod install could run from $3,800 to $8000. It's on my text if you would like screen shots. He knew I was Property Manager for the owner, but kept asking if that was in "my budget." I told him that was up to the owner. He asked me again and I told him the same thing. He asked me yet again and I told him likely on the lower end of the "range." Then he said "unfortunately we are only to assist with projects within this price range at this time."
Classic BAIT AND SWITCH. It was within the "range" even if the lower end. The owner for this home used Angi last time to have some drywall done and had a great experience, so I was trying to send return business. Further he told me that he would have the quote back to me within one to two weeks, to which I replied, the owner would like to have the work done early in November.
All around POOR experience.
Someone could make this right or at least not Deceptive Trade Practice. Will also be filed with BBB.
Desired outcome: Give me someone who is not pushy and only would have chosen a preferred vendor with an outrageous price.
Project not properly completed.
I had a plumber come a couple of weeks ago to repair a leak in my supply line from the refrigerator. I have also had a person remove/replace a leaky hot water heater. and some repair work on moisture damage. The person who repaired the leak has apparently left some of the leak unprepared. i think he should complete the work that he has already been paid for!

Sending bogus and fake leads and expecting payment for it!
They are refusing to credit pending leads we have in their account, we become a member of Anji leads and it was the worst experience ever! they overcharge us over and over again for bogus and fake leads, when we asked to get credit for the leads we need to credit follow their" leads credit guideline" they keep refusing and holding our leads credit that was approved already by one of the supervisors that need to be credit, I was on the phone with them for over 2 hours and go over all pending leads - a total of 25 the supervisor confirm that at least 8 of them were supposed to be credited by their credit department and that their credit department did a mistake by denying it. average lead cost in Anji is $250-$300- meaning we need to get a credit of at least $1500.00 and now that we are calling to get this credit toward our balance they are asking us to pay in full and then they will credit us, we do not have any faith in this company! they keep laying to us and keep threatening the collection, we show good faith and we pay over $5k and they still do not want to give us our credit, we are not asking for favor or deals, we just want to get what we suppose to get based and follow their credit guideline, we try to talk with at list 4 supervisor and they all road and not helpful, they acting like gangsters and have a 0 in customer service! we would like a real person and not a robot to call us so we can sort this out, this was the worst experience we had! we are a small business trying to survive after the covid and having Anji leads HomeAdvisor holding our money and converting it to balance due is devastating, we are not asking for deals or any favor, we just want justice and to pay only for what we need and not for fake and bogus information, we will appreciate your help in this matter,

On Angie , I searched for Air duct cleaning. Only 3 Vendors responded. Their quote was.
Vendor 1 $3000, Vendor 2 $1000, Vendor 3 $1200. The same job could be cheaper with other Vendors if we contact them directly. Another surprising thing is the Vendor who offered $1200 quote through Angi gave a cheaper quote to my friend who contacted them directly on another personal phone. It seems Angi is taking a good commission out of the Vendor's payment, so the vendors give higher quotes on Angi.I got the work done for around $500 using another Vendor outside Angi. The Vendors who respond on Angi use every sales tactics, Frightening, then helping and selling the most expensive equipment for a medium family.

Interior door installation
Angi provided me with a contractor for installation of a pre-hung interior door in my home on Tuesday, October 18, 2022. The time was scheduled for 10:00 a.m.
He clearly had a problem with this job. I provided the materials, but he messed
up the job. He did not have the proper tools and it shows in the completed work. The door and frame do not match the other doors in my hallway. I had to vacuum the whole area after he left because he left a lot of debris even after he cleaned the workspace.
I am really unhappy with the quality of the finished job and the cost.
Tv mounting
I scheduled an appointment to have a 65 inch tv mounted for 10/11/22 at 4:30. No one showed. At 5:30 I called and was told the appointment was rescheduled for another date and time.
10/10/22. I made the appointment. I was on the phone for 45 minutes setting up the appointment. I kept repeating my name, email and phone number. Spelling them also. To be given a different appointment with no communication is bad and unprofessional business.
Desired outcome: I will never use or recommend Angi service again.
MJC Movers
10-1-22 I hired them to move 3 bedrooms of furniture 13 miles. They gave me an estimate of 520 dollars. They sent incompetent unprofessional movers. After 90 minutes they only had 3 items on the truck. They didn’t know how to disassemble beds or pack the truck they took several breaks. When they arrived at my new place they said they would not release my furniture until I paid 1300 dollars . When I refuse they said they would take my furniture to storage and charge me 250 dollars a day and the time was still ticking My grand kids began to unload the truck and they notified me they still have my credit card on file and charged it 600 dollars fraudulently.
Desired outcome: I want my 600 dollars back
Appliance Repair Job
We had just sold house and refrigerator stop cooling. We called Angie's list and hired a Pro for 3 hours. We paid $350 for the hours and the membership.
A nice technician came out said it was the compressor and some other button. We bought those parts and called for another technician who came out with a different approach.
I called Angie's list 10 times as they kept assigning different technicians.
I asked for the first tech. but she opted out of the job for a reason I don't know.
This was TERRIBLE service on the response from the Pro Support Team.
There were no notes for others to complete the job.
I am escalating this as I want my $565 back spent on parts, labor and NOTHING IS FIXED.
vERY VERY UNHAPPY HOME OWNER.

Tree and shrub trimming
This is the first time I have used Angie’s list since it went to just Angie. On Sunday, October 9 I was looking for someone to trim my trees and shrubs and and I asked for quotes from three different contractors. I receive several phone calls almost immediately from people with heavy Spanish accents trying to get me to book and pay for the services. I kept asking what was included in the price they were quoting me because every person I spoke to quoted me something different, everything from $268, to over $500. No one could tell me what was included for their price. I was informed by the people calling me to book, that they do not send people out to give you quotes or to look at a job so you can pay an exact amount. What I was told by each person who called me is that if the job goes over the quote then they I will be charged an additional fee including the additional cost of the job. I’m completely dismayed at how far this company has gone down. Angie’s list used to be top-of-the-line where you could get local contractors to contact you and give you a fair price for a fair job I would not suggest anyone using Angie’s list ever. Today is October 10, 2022 a day after I requested my quote and I’m still getting countless calls every hour or less of people with heavy Spanish accents trying to get me to book the job without being able to tell me what’s included and varying prices . Buyer beware.

handyman apt
I had a handyman apt on 10-4-22 for a person to show up at 8am to fix a hole from my roof down to my laundry room(trailerr). When I got up I found an email saying it had been rescheduled till today 10-8-22 at 8AM. It is now 6PM and he still has not shown up. At 9am I got a text saying we were further away then he thought and it was taking a little longer to get here. At 10, a text saying he would be here at 12:00. At 1:00 a text did I have supplies, I had already stated when I made the apt I would not have supplies, as I did not know what to get. At 2:00 he would be here at 3:30 as he was stopping at Lowe's for supplies, nothing since. I had always heard good things about y'all, but I am very disappointed, and all of this has given me a very bad migraine. I better not be expected to pay for a no show service.
Customer service
Last week I called Angis customer service and explained that we no longer want to have lawn service until next spring. Well, I received a text stating our grass will be cut this Saturday, 10/08/2022. I called their customer service from Asia and tried to explain that I did call and chose not to have our grass cut until next spring. I was told since I am cancelling, I will be charged a fee. I was charged $76.00 plus $25.00. Well After calling three times to speak with someone who could understand why I was calling; I finally did speak with Teresa who was helpful and did refund my money. Still not sure why I was being charged for $76.00? Evidentially when I called last week that person did not make notes on my account! I am very disappointed in Angis service.
