Parts
I went into a autozone today to get spark plugs for my mazda 5. The lady at the counter started to help me. She pulled up a mazda miata, so I told her that I dont need parts for a miata and that i needed parts for a mazda 5. She looked at me with a [censored]ty attitude and goes well it's the same thing. I told her no it's not. A miata is a 2.0 liter and my vehicle is a 2.3 liter. She goes well it's the same thing, so do you want this or not. 😱 I was like um no I'll just get my husband to come in because I'm not arguing with you about it. So, my husband goes in and talks to a guy and tries to say the same thing. Finally, they listen and get us the parts we needed. So just for the record, just because I'm a female dont think I dont know my cars. I know a lot more than you think.
Car battery
I purchased a car battery 0n February 2, 2019 at Auto Zone in Claymont, DE on Philadelphia Pike. I cant find my receipt but I am sure I paid with my VISA in the name of Phyllis D. Jankowski. I got stranded yesterday while out shopping because the battery I bought at Autozone went dead after only 18 months. I paid AAA to assist me and replace the battery at the tune of $139.
I am seventy seven years old and didn't appreciate finding out I cant rely on AutoZone. I plan to warn my friends at the senior center.
Being disrespected and called a pussy by an employee
I had ordered a timing belt for my car and went to pick it up when it was received. I noticed an employee that I have a no contact order with due to the fact he was shooting a loaded firearm at me in city limits. We are currently going through Court proceedings and he has been charged with aggravated assault along with a few other things. Discharging a firearm in city limits. I get home and open my package and the first thing I see in Sharpie is the words pussy, then a direct threat saying "I'll be seeing you". Written inside it. It was Brock schartz. El Dorado Kansas AutoZone I don't like going out in public to be intimated or threatened by employees
Attacked by store employee
I was out running errands with my son Saturday. When leaving our first stop his car would not start. His battery was dead. A nice older gentleman gave us a jump start and we proceeded to the Loveland, CO (Hwy 287 loc.) AutoZone to purchase a new battery. When we entered the store, we were rudely meet by an employee telling us we are not allowed in the store without a face mask. My son did have a scarf over his face, I did not. We were both completely unaware of this facemask policy! I proceed to tell the employee that we just needed a battery. He told us again we cannot be in the store without a face mask in a very harsh and rude manner. I told him this was BS and I just needed a battery as ours was dead. He then said we needed to leave. I asked if my son could just get the battery and he said no and yelled at us to leave. I lost my cool told him to f-off and proceed to leave the store. We were only a few feet from the door during all of this and I walked out the left double door, my son following. As I looked back, the employee I had been talking to was running at me in a very aggressive manner, it appeared he was about to attack me! I exited the store and he hit the right-side double door. His hitting the door is the only thing that prevented him from making physical contact to me. I continued outside with your employee following and yelling that he was going to kick my [censored] and further threatening me. I stopped in the parking lot and had a few strong words with him then walked to the passenger side door of the car and opened it to get in. Your employee followed cussing at me and asking me to hit him so he could kick my [censored]! Your employee was less than a foot from me, right in my face trying to pick a fight with me. I stood by the car door and had few more hash words with the employee. By the time we exited the front doors of the store the other employees had come outside and were pilling on with almost no attempt to stop the actions of your employee. They pulled out their phones said they called 911 (on my son and I) and began to film us and our car. My son and I got in the car and left.
I immediately called the AutoZone customer complaint phone number and log the incident. I then filled out the online complaint form and sent an email to the VP of customer relations. I have yet to hear anything back from AutoZone regarding this incident. I have been a long time customer of AutoZone, bypassing other parts suppliers to use them. I will NO longer do business with them and tell everyone I know or can contact about this incident and not to do business with them.
Manager/employee interaction
I took a job as a Commercial Driver in December 2019. I did orientation/paperwork the first 2 days, shadowed an Assistant Manager on the morning of day 3, and that was the extent of my "training". As a result I made some mistakes that I would have otherwise known what to do. Instead of offering more training or any other help, my manager saw fit to scream...

I purchased a Duralast Gold battery for my 2007 Odyssey on May 31, 2018. 5 year warranty, free replacement within first 36 months. This morning, March 25, 2020, van would not start. Checked cables, they were tight and clean, nothing was left on, but all it would do was click. Not enough power to engage the starter. Jump started with no issues. Let it run...

This woman employee was very rude to my father. No other customer was present at the time of our arrival. She persisted to act Inconvenienced by assisting us. We had trouble finding a specific oil filter and just asked if she could locate it. She stated, " I could have done that the 1st time & saved us both time." After her comment we just said, " ok, don't...

I'm visiting here in the city and I have a problem with my car battery. So I have an extra battery that I've had for a while but I just needed to make sure that it was good and that it just needed to be tested. I know that it can be done because I've seen it done before with me and other family members.
So there is a young guy, very friendly...at the counter and he's willing to help. I ask him if he could check the battery to see if the cells are dead so of course he says he has to go ask his manager. The battery tester is right behind the counter where he's standing and he can literally turn around and touch it within inches. So the older gentleman told him "No" that he could not do it which I know that was a lie. So the younger that apologized and told me that he was sorry.
I walked out and sit in the car for just a minute and another guy drove up and parked next to me and it seems like he may have had the same problem. So I sat there and watched them.
Here comes the young friend the guy that was at the register to check the battery of the gentleman in the next car. So at that point I figured "THE MANAGER" Had to tell him it was OK for him to check the battery on next guy's vehicle.
So it's OK to check his and Not Mine?
Get rid of this dirt bag!
I've only been there one time and I will never
! have my business again !
I drove to ABC auto parts on the loop across the street from Dirt Cheap. There was no problem they didn't ask any questions and they didn't take me through the third degree .
They checked my battery in two seconds it was NOT a PROBLEM!
Thank You ABC Auto Parts!
Do not go to AutoZone on South Broadway in Tyler Texas because they do not treat you right!
returning issue
I bought a torque wrench on Saturday 1/25/20. The clear case lid on it was cracked when I bought it. I tried to return the item 4 days later, 1/29/20, due to not needing the wrench. The manager would not accept it and inferred that I was a liar about not using it before returning it. I said the case was like that when I bought it, and the manager said 'no...

This evening at around 7:55, I called the clearwater store asking to speak to an employee who had previously helped me. Jose, who answered the phone, rudely said " he is not here" and hung up the phone. I am a long time customer and have never experienced this type of behavior from other employees. I ended up calling a competitor and ordered my parts there.
