Brinks Home Security:
Brinks I am writing to discover what your advertising for the brinks home security system means. I have been watching the brinks home security commercials for years, and the only people I see who seem to need protecting per your commercials are either white women or white women and their white children mostly female white children.
In the society we live in there is much research that goes into commercials and who the target audience is or who the target audience is not.
So with that in mind the question then becomes weather you all at brinks are flat raciest is the client base you are looking for just bigots, and therefore not looking for any money for a home security system from African Americans or will I experience a different type of treatment or response time from you all based upon the information I have you have shown advertised to me for several years per your commercials.
These are not images I have conjured up but this is the information that has been sent to me in commercial advertisements while watching my favorite Television shows for years , if I am wrong please to explain your ad’s and if I am wrong why of all of the images to project, why does your advertisements reflect only white females and their children who need protecting.
You all at brinks are smart enough to has a security system that can and is networked across the nation from state to state and has the ability to go into almost any home, so with such very smart people there why is this particular type of information projected to me and countless others across the nation. People who may not be able to express what they see and feel but have similar questions. As we know one viewer such as myself who takes the time to express certain views represent a percentage of the viewing population. In short who are the bigots, you all or just who you want as your customers because if that’s the case I’ll just keep looking for a service to protect my home my African American wife and my African American children I feel is valuable as well despite your one sided or slanted advertisements. Please correct me.

I am a Brinks customer and I can tell you that Brinks is an unethical company so it doesn't surprise me that they have no sensitivity regarding that type of portrayal by their advertising. Brinks currently has many complaints against them through the BBB (Better Business Bureau, yet the BBB continues to endorse Brinks as a BBB approved company.
Why does everything have to be always a black and white thang? My brutha, please stop your ignorance. It is African Americans like you that uses the "bias against blacks" all the time when something doesn't go your way. I hope you don't treat your children this vicious cycle. Our culture has a lot of issues. One of them being that only 5% of us in America are educated and have decent jobs. For the rest of them... yes I refer it to "them", get out of that cycle and do something for yourself and not your color. Education eliminates ignorance... I assume you are half? Maybe a high school graduate?
Blessing.

We purchased your series 7222 a couple of years ago and today one of them quit working. It says on the box that they are warranted for life. So, what do I need to do to get another one?

There is power going to the units. The red and green lights wont light as well as the bulbs that have been replaced. Please advise me or e mail me instructions and trouble shooting guide.

I just purchased a model 7224BK coach lamp. There were no instructions inside the box. I'm only interested in the controls at the base of the unit and how they are involved in the setting up of each of the light's advertised functions. Would you please send the information via e-mail or tell me how I can obtain them. Thankyou
I bought the 200 watt outdoor motion sensor light and there were no instructions for setting the motion sensor

I bought a Brinks Security dust to down light with in a week the light started going dim almost out for 45 seconds or so and then it will very quickly get bright again. it will repeat this about every
hour or 2 all night long.. Do you have any ideas on how to fix it? it was about $90.00 at Lowe's. $50.00 to put it up. I watched him install it per the instructions...I don't won't to take it down if I don't have to! Thank you Randy Ski
maybe brinks /broadview is such a company that it dosent even see race i am a tech for a dealer branch and we have a culturally diverse customer base and we definitely dont discriminant at all
Just purchased model #7671W Brinks .The lighting system did NOT come with instructions. Charged solar panel. The unit worked for 5 MINUTES! I had already purchased two of the same units (which did not work at all). Gave them to my parents. They told me they did not work over 1 year after purchase.(To save me hard feelings).
I am now invested over $240.00 in product that does not work!
How do I get reimbusred for the first TWO units?
I thought Brinks was supposed to be a GOOD brand. This changes my mind about your company.
Please respond via email at marshapimentel@att.net
Brinks Security Lighting Systems are made by Hampton Products International Corp. They are not affiliated with Brinks at all...
I just bought the model # 7160w and it doesn't have instructions what is going on with this company?
Please what is the email address so I may order instructions for my 7010 halogen security light system>
all the other complaints with Brinks, has sure surprised me. Will I soon join these people, and tell others that BRINKS IS A SCAM?
I purchased a M-90 model 7252 security light and there was no light bulb in the box. I went back where I purchased it and they gave me any bulb. It lasted maybe 2 weeks. How do I get the right bulb for my light. I have been unable to find the bulb. I don't think I should have to pay for a bulb that was to be included with my purchase. My last Brinks Security light lasted almost 40 years.
I purchased a Brinks 7011B security lighting system a few weeks ago. It works fine as a security light, but when I want the light to stay on for yard work after dark, it won't stay on. I followed the directions to turn it off, then on again in 2 seconds or less. I tried 2 seconds, 1 second, and off-on quickly. I tried numerous times. Still goes off when I want it to stay on.
We have bought two Brinks dusk to dawn lights and now the second one has died! Bought a less expesive one the first time, it lasted about 45 days. Bought a really expensive one the second time around and it lasted about 7-8 months. Now it has died! I will not buy another one from this company! The only expense that I will put out is sending it back to the company for them to dipose of it! Now I am looking for the old fashioned barn light. Maybe that will last longer than these nasty lights did. Of course WalMart won't take them back either.
purchased a brinks 7236 bk security light apr: 6 months ago, it is now turns on gets bright then starts dimming..then goes off then starts back up can you tell me what the problem is?
It is amazing how the white man keeps the black man down.. What a joke! I am a white man and no matter what the black people always turn anything and everything into a race issue.. Grow up! This generation owes you nothing, you have the month of February dedicated solely to the black folk, why doesn't caucatiosions have a titled White History Month? Why does cable tv have BET channel, maybe whites want a WET channel? There are more social programs and grants provided by taxes and contributions to black people than whites, Latinos or Asians combined.. Quit your crying already! Not everything has to deal with race, just maybe for today anyways the caucasions are still the majority so it only makes sense to use the people in their commercials that are around the filming location wherever that may be.. Everyone is concerned about security. Not sure if it's Brinks but there's a commercial where a white woman is home with her daughter and her date from the night before breaks into her home, what would you say if it was a black man breaking in? Enjoy the fact they didn't portray the blacks like that...
I purchased the brinks model 7252 security light and it never came on the first time. Bought a new bulb for $26 and it still wont work. All it will do is make a humming noise
I just purchased a Brinks Security #7141W, Where the heck does the yellow/green wire go? Its got the EZ N STALL connector, but no directions.
I bought my model 7671 of the Brinks solar sensor light. It had no instructions, just like the other complainants. Also, it just will not charge up, or it won't work. It's brand new.
i installed a motion light #7224 series above the entrance door that is 7' high to get into the house. the motion light did not work in the night. i called you why it didn't work the mman on the phone told me it won't work above the door 7'. he told me the motion sensor only goes straight out and won't work. i spent $45.00 on this product believing thats what it should do. i told him i ran my hand in front of the sensor 6 times till the light went on. he told me the sensor does not work below the sensor facing out even if i had on the 40 feet sensitivity. where do you install this product? my name is lee my e-mail is harlee124@verizon.net. hank you
I have a motion detector item 7160 120 V 15M MAX. The red light is still going on but here is no sensor or light activity. I did not get instructions in the box. What size of bulb do I get and is it difficult to insert? I notice there is a switch on back of sensor what is this for?
Ive purchased the Brinks Dusk to Dawn Coach Lights for the front of my house. Series # 7550D-693. Ive got power running to the lanterns. 1 light last about 8 months, the other about 10 months. The dusk to dawn sensors are junk they are made in China. The Brinks name is misleading. I would not recommend this product.
I bought a Brinks Motion Activated Double Head Flood Light Model No 7120 B wherein bulbs are not included, It is rated for 120 Volts & 60 Hz. - Can I use this light on 230 Volts 50 Hz by installing bulbs for 50 hz & 230 volts. In such case how will the motion sensor perform
BRINKS IS A ###ING JOKE! AND SO ARE THE STORES THAT SELL BRINKS PRODUCTS!
I just got through purchasing a Brinks Motion Sensing Plug-In Light about 3 weeks ago from Walmart with a Brinks model number of 7162G-1. I installed it outside on a tree for wildlife monitoring in my backyard in the mountains. It seemed really good at first until we got one week of flooding & thunderstorms off & on each day. I looked out one night because it was on & did not see anything anywhere around that it was or might had been detecting. I kept on watching it to see if it was going to go off or not which it was not after about 15 minutes of being continuously on. I had it set to stay on for about 1-1/2 minutes at the most. I then started noticing it going on & off second by second & flickering as well as if it had a short in the cord or something. I went outside in the dark on my one acre property to unplug it just to be safe as for it was operating very strangely. When I went out to unplug it, I then heard what sounded like an aquarium pump running. Turns out that it was coming from this worthless light's motion sensor that is apparently not waterproof or weatherproof in any way! I decided to bring it inside & plug it in to see what was causing it to operate poorly & short out as well as the abnormal aquarium pump noise & vibration that was coming from inside the sensor to this Brinks light.
I chose to take the 2 small screws out of the bottom of the sensor & open it up to see what had gone wrong with this Brinks motion sensing security light to cause all of the malfunctioning. I was dreadfully surprised to find out that it was not weatherproof, waterproof or sealed to keep rainwater out. This because the sensor to it when I opened it up, had moisture from our recent rainstorms inside of it. The water was trapped inside the sensor which had fried the little square computer chip inside the sensor which is what operates & tells the light when to turn on, when not to turn on & when to stay off almost like a motherboard on a computer.
This was & is definitely a fire hazard that could have started a fire right in my yard on the tree it was placed on if I had ignored it & just gone to bed without going outside in the pitch Black to unplug it due to the strange malfunctioning & faultiness that this product brings & carries. I think that this light needs to be issued as a recall for safety reasons being that it could do this to anybody who owns one of these right now & simply short out & start a fire due to water being able to enter inside the motion sensor part of this light like it did mine.
Don't buy flood light bulbs by Brinks. One of the wires is attached to the outside of the bulb so can be knocked off when you screw in the bulb or sometime between the factory and when you purchase it as with this one. It should be internal behind the threads.
I purchased the Brinks series 7191 motion detection floodlamp. I just installed it, and my complaint is that there was no "special E-Z-WIRE clip insert" included with the packaging; I went ahead with it anyway because I know some wiring, but to the novice installer it might prove frustrating.
I purchased 3 Model number 7224BK-1 lights. One died after 3 years, a second died 6 years later.
Both where replaced, with the latest model, immediately with no hassle at all.

I bought the 7120 B at Walmart. It says it picks up up to 39 feet away but you have to be about 5 feet from it before it comes on. Seems like a piece of junk.

July 28, 2015 second request for response
July 17, 2015
To Whom It May Concern,
I purchased 2 PAR 38, BULB #7075 at Wal-Mart on April 28, 2015. I installed the light on 5/2/2015. This evening July 17, 2015, the light was already burnt out!
I purchased "Brinks" due to the fact that I thought that with the good name and length of time in business that the lights would last a year or more. I have a Great Value Light that lasted over 3 years but the Brinks bulb burnt out in two (2) months.
Wal-Mart will not refund the money. And therefore I seem to have paid $13.97 plus tax of 7% for ONE light bulb and I worry if the other will burn out just as quick. Buying tqo flood lights every few months can become quite expensive.
I am now stuck with one Brinks light instead of two. I checked the area of the light, it was clean, no spider webs, no mold, etc., there is no reason that it should have burnt out!
I am enclosing the UPC code on the box, the receipt to show what I paid. I truly hope that Brinks, makes this right!
Awaiting a quick response,
Cynthia A. Smith

I have a 7162 that worked fine for 6 months and then stopped going out at night. I bought a new bulb and noticed the sensor area was full of water like the previous poster after a heavy rain for 2 days.I removed the screws TO TAKE THE SENSOR COVER OFF AND DRAINED THe water, I noticed the rubber gasket sealing the top was broken. now I cant get it to work at all.
7162g will not go off. not waterproof.
Several years ago I signed a service agreement for the monitoring of a security system partially installed by Brinks security. Broadview security has taken over Brinks. My contract expired almost two years ago and I decided to cancel the monitoring. Broadview is trying to strong-arm me for $500 fee which they are not entitled to. I will not pay them. I ENCOURAGE ANYONE CONTEMPLATING THEIR SERVICES TO THINK TWICE ABOUT THIS COMPANY.
We have been Brinks customers since we purchased our home 8 yrs ago. I called to let them know that we were doing construction in our kitchen and we would not need monitoring for 6 months. I said I would like to suspend my service for this time. I recently recieved a bill for the service for the last 6 months. When I called to find out why, after I told them that I do not need the sever, would I have a bill for over $200. The person explained that I did not say CANCEL so they did not stop monitoring. I said, "so why didn't you call us to tell us there was an issue?" he said " you told us ignore the calls" They then proceeded to put us into collection. When we called to work a payment plan they told my wife that "we don't have to do anything because you are no longer a customer!" Worst customer service I ever had! NEVER EVER AGAIN WILL I USE THIS HORRIBLE COMPANY AGAIN! STAY AWAY!
I learned about 4 months ago that for the last 6 months my payment has been goin to someone elses address when i call they cant do anything about it until they contact the other person to notify him that his payment hasnt been made. Then they said they would credit my account back for all the payments that i paid on his account never seen it 4 months later my service has been disconnected and when i call them i talked to different people i dont know what more i have to do i am goin to an office show them my contract then tell them to kiss my ### dont go with them at all
Bought this outdoor 40 watt led flood light and it goes on and off all night. Other owners have had the same problem. Help. This is the Brinks Co. that manufactures security lighting and other security devices. I purchased this light at Walmart. It appears to be the bulb that is the problem.
