Missing plants and dead plants
I ordered 9 plants, not a lot, just 9 plants pm 3/19/20. I received the 2nd of 2 shipments - the plants on 4/30.
One blue clematis was NOT in the package. And 3 pink honeysuckles are dead - no green inside, planted since arrival as required and in rich soil. No sign of life on 6/1/20. I'm told to mail the original label.
WHY? I contacted Burgess by email many weeks ago AND I need the original label for the guarantee over the next year. I need a refund of the clematis and honeysuckle right now!

cannot reach them by phone (line always busy, even on Sunday, which leads me to believe there is something wrong with their phone number)
after 4 emails asking for delivery update- the only response, from 2 weeks ago was that they were "picking to fill the order" since, no response to other emails - only computer generated email saying someone will contact me in 2 -3 business days.
I have today sent an email cancelling this order
Garden plants
These people can't count. Ordered sweet pepper collection with 20 plants for $24.99. Got 16 plants. Several of those were dead since they shipped during 20 degree temps. Won't make it right even though they admit they were out of the one pepper. Want us to pay for shipping dead plants back for replacement or refund. Refuse to answer emails. Crooks! Avoid.
plant order not received
I placed an on June 10. After waiting and tracking the order, I finally saw it had been delivered to eburgess in Illinois and not me!. After several calls, I finally found out it was rejected by the Ag Inspectors and returned to them. I called and sent an email and required to cancel the order and request a refund. After waiting for almost 2 weeks, I received a refund of $20.98 on any order of $68.92. I called to ask about the reason and was told I was being issued a credit voucher for $46.96. I told the lady I did not want a credit voucher as for any part of my order as I would not be ordering from them again. She said to call back the next day and she would talk to someone in the office. I called back the next day and was told a reorder had been placed for some of the items! I told the lady again that I did not ask for a replacement order but a refund and cancellation of the order. Again she says she will have to submit more paperwork and I will have to call back in a week or 2 for an update! Not once did anyone contact me about a problem with my order! If I had not followed up with them, they had no intention of fulfilling or refunding my order. And I still think I will have to go thru my credit card company to get this resolved. I will give them one more week but then I am contacting my credit card company to take care of this. So even if you have ordered from this company in the past and had good results, please be warned, BUYER BEWARE! This is now just a scam company.
warranty
To me, this company is just a scam. Their warranty is totally stupid. In good faith, I thought Burgess would make sure you get live plants as replacements for the dead ones you first received, but instead all I got were dead plants again. What a waste of time and money! They have my $78, and all I ever received were dead plants. What a total scam! I suppose now and then they send people live plants so they will get some good reviews. If I didn't have a conscience, I could offer the same kind of warranty and scam people too. What a total racket! I want my money back!
inferior plants
Never again. I ordered 186, 00 worth of plants, over half of them were so tiny that they died right away after planting (with proper care) They did not give cash refund for my claim was after 14 Ddays, they send my claims letter back and wrote on it "allow 6-8 weeks for growth" on 6/5/19, I never had a shipping label attached to the package but only a regular address label which they said was impossible etc, etc. they did offer replacement FOR MY CLAIMED $ 35.36 but I did not want the trouble with imperfect little seedlings again. I did place a complaint with the illinois attorney general. but will not get my money back. DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY.

Ordered on March 22, 2019, total $38.25. Website said to allow about 3 weeks; it is now 7 weeks later. No plants; no contact from company about shipping date (or if it has even been shipped at all!), Called the single phone number given, throughout Monday & Tuesday (May 6th & 7th), but only a constant busy signal. No aequately staffed call center?; no multiple phone lines?
4 #6976 sweetie tomato plants, #7705 black tomato plants, 4 # 7775 brandywine tomato plants
First off I sent an email to their customer service and complained that all of the tomato pants were dead all shriveled up but one Sweetie plant. They told me that they were dormant and I should transplant them and water them. There is nothing left of the plants too show you. They were dead because whoever packaged the tomato plants folde the stems over and stapeled the bar so tight it caused the stems to get crushed.
Package label id#[protected] tracking number under bar code is 29773493802119353B I would like replacement plants if I could get them by Friday of next week. I have tried to call your phone number many ok many times all time of the day and all I get is a busy signal. I also emailed two more times and no one replies. I would appreciate a call from your manger Alan Weiss [protected] so I can get some tomato plants planted soon
Terrible Customer Service
do not order from this company at all
I ordered some plants before mid April 2018 thinking I would receive them in 2-3 weeks based on what the website said. My credit card was charged by Burgess the day I ordered. Three weeks went by and I still didn't receive my order. So, I sent them an email. No one responded. I called them to find out the status and they didn't give me a shipping date at all other than it might be shipped next week but they said to check my email. More than a week after I called them, I still hadn't received my order. So, I called them again and they said they were still processing orders from April 11-12. I asked them to cancel my order because the planting season is almost over. They said all cancelled orders must be in writing and they gave me their email address. I asked if they are going to refund my credit card if I cancel by email since my credit card has been charged. They said they don't know when it will be refunded. So, that makes me angry because they charged my credit card right away as soon as I ordered but they won't refund the card right away. Anyway, I will try to cancel my order and hopefully, I will get the refund right away.
For all of you thinking to order from them, do not order from them.
I just had identical experience. I ordered stuff on May 3rd, 2018. Four weeks later nothing. When I called them they told me that order was not even processed. They charged my credit card on May 6th, 2018. I asked them to cancel order. I will have to file dispute with credit card. Terrible company.

Do not under any circumstances order from this company. I had some plants that arrived dead in 2017, I followed their return policy and they sent my claim back and said they wanted to see if the plants would come out of it. I waited and this year the plants were obviously dead. I called them for replacements for the plants that I received dead and a couple more that had since died I was told that my warranty expired in April. No plants around my area were budding this year in April so I could not have known they were dead yet. I explained that to their customer service person and their response was "Sorry".
missing item
I placed order #1112114 on March 27, 2018. So far I have received everything in my order except for SKU #5543, Sugar Sweet Cherry Tomatoes. I have emailed with no response and cannot get through when I call. I would like to see this shipped out to me ASAP!
I would appreciate a response and my order shipped to me in order for me to even consider using your company again. I see many negative reviews online and I'm beginning to believe why.
plants receive spring of 2017
This spring I ordered different plants from your company after receiving the plants some of them were dead and the others all died after planting. After planting them they were watered every day for a week and they all died like the ones that were dead upon arrival. I have been a customer of yours for quite a long time but I don't think so any more. lonzo isaac

Ordered some plants from www.eburgess.com and received less than a half of my order! I contacted customer service and they promised I'll receive the missing stuff as soon as possible.
My original order was placed five months ago and I still haven't received everything I paid for!
They reply really slow and can't say when will I get everything!
This company is ridiculous and I really hate the fact I did not check the reviews earlier! Do not deal with Burgess!
I want my money back!
I have ordered a plant from Burgess company over two months ago and did no receive it yet! I called and spoke to one of their reps and was told that my order was in process. Later called again and asked them to cancel my order and they said that was not possible since my order was in the process of shipping! These two months they said one and the same thing! I want my money back!
I received dead roots instead of plants!
I have ordered some flower plants from Burgess and received only dead looking roots! What a junk and a waste of money! Contacted the company and they promised to send me another ones. The second ones looked exactly the same and were also dead. Contacted them again and they said that there was nothing wrong with the plants. I have a huge garden and I know how normal and healthy plants should look like!
Awful services and problems with the delivery
Couple of months ago I have placed the order on the website www.eburgess.com. They processed my order within couple of weeks. And finally I received the confirmation email from the seller. They told me that the order would be ready within 2 days and they would ship it. 2 weeks have passed since this email and the seller hasn’t provided any information or order. Scam. So, don’t waste your time on the website.
Their flowers were dead and customer services was joke
The company www.eburgess.com is real nightmare. I have ordered plants and flowers from them, but the delivery man provided already dead and completely awful flowers, which I couldn’t use already. I was shocked and called to their customer services. But it was joke, because they refused to take the order back and accused me that I tried to misled them. Awful services.
Deceptive practices
I bought a dwarf fruit cocktail tree. Waited 4 years to get my first fruits. Tree is more than 10' tall and only one peach and plum variety and not 6 delicious varieties as they write in their catalog and web site which says"Pick nectarines, peaches, plums and apricots all from the same tree." I got about 5 plums and 5 peaches and not like they write that the first bushel of fruit will pay for the tree. The size of the plum was equal to the size of the cherry and the size of the peach is about the size of a grocery plum. This is deceptive.
I ordered an almond tree and after two years I had the first fruit. It turned out to be a peach. I contacted by email and their answer was insulting by saying that I need to crack the nut to reach almond although I explained to them that I have pictures and I ate and tasted the peach. I ordered an American persimmon and turned out to be Asian persimmon, very small fruit the size of pecan fruit and with 4-5 seeds inside. The carnations are not close to what they have in the catalog. I bought two cherries for better yield of crop. One did not survive and the other one does not bear fruit as it is not selfpollinating as eburgess says. The dwarf pomegranates are ornamental only because the fruit is not even close to that in the catalog.The fruit is tiny about the size of walnut.
I hope this will be a lesson and protect future buyers from the nursery companies like eburgess not only for the money but for the most important the TIME. In my case 4 years.

Dead plants
please do not waste your time and energy with ordering from Eburgess. first off, they never send you a shipping confirmation of your order when it's ready which I found extremely odd but now I realize why. They take ypur money as soon as you place the order NOT when order is ready to be shipped so if they don't have inventory, your s.o.l.. You satisfaction is guaranteed my foot! ! of the trees I ordered arrived DOA but planted it regardless and hoped for the best. 2 months later..only a miracle would resurrect this poor dead twig. I contacted customer care with the original email order confirmation and explained what happened needing a replacement. They emailed me advising that I need to send the original shipping label with written request. Why, when they have the proof, I can't say but I play by the rules. I cut out and mail as requested and 2 months later nothing. I email to get answers and was told that it must have gotten lost in the mail and if I would care to send proof with written request again, they can help. Well, if I mailed the original how can I redo? exactly..they do not stand by their word and are a horrible company. DO NOT ORDER ANYTHING FROM THEM. They are terrible.

Didn't receive my order
I purchased few plants from Burgees Seed Plant Co. but they’ve never sent me my order. It has been more than 3 weeks of waiting and they didn’t even reply to my complaints. Planting season is almost over and I might end up losing this harvest...
