job interview
I responded to a stocking/layaway position at store # 736 in October through a job search engine Indeed.com. On October 20th, 2016 I had an email message for an interview between 12-4 with either Mike or Elijah. I met Mike and we had the interview, after he said I would make 8.10 per hour; I told him I needed to speak to my husband first (as I was thinking to myself I requested a minimum wage of $10.25 per hour?) Mike said that was fine. Strangely, during the interview, Mike said the real reason he responded to my resume was to "see the person who bore my unique name"? I called Mike back on October 21st in acceptance of the position. Mike said he would put my background check through and I have not heard from him since.
I do not wish to have contact by Mike nor anyone else at store #736...there is something very unseemly and unscrupulous about your managerial staff. Very disturbing!
customer service
On today, which is 11-11-2016 around 12:57 pm I made a purchase at store number 00955 in Jacksonville, NC. The purchase was perfume and some party bags. Once I got to my car I opened the perfume and sprayed one spray on my wrist to see if the product agreed with me. I went next door to Kohl's to allow the perfume to dry to see if I liked it. After smelling it I noticed that he had me sneezing and it did not smell good. I immediately returned to the store to get a refund. When I walked in the associates stated oh weren't you just in here and I stated yes. The young lady that was helping at that time made me aware that they were unable to give me a refund and I asked why and she stated that once the product was opened it could not be refunded. I advised her that I was not told that or I would not have made the purchase and nowhere on the receipt does it state that and she proceeded to call the supervisor over and she told me the same thing. I explained to her what I had told the cashier. I asked for the manager and the mgr told me the same thing and I explained to her the same thing. I asked her to show me where in the store was that policy noted and she told me nowhere. The associate admitted that she did not tell me about the policy and that she was new. I asked the mgr could I get a store credit and she said no. I asked for the Customer Relations number and asked if I could used there phone and I was told no. I went back to my car and as I was driving back to Wilmington NC I called the number. Ryan which was very helpful contacted the store while I was on the phone and the mgr Diane then stated that she would give me a store credit, I advised Ryan that I was already in route back home which was about 45mins to an hour from Jacksonville NC. I was not able to turn around and go back to the store. I asked Ryan why couldn't the manager do that while I was there. The customer service was very poor and Burlington has lost a customer for life. I would like a refund for the perfume which was $39.99 plus tax.
even item exchange
On September 28, 2016, I received a 15% off in store coupon for Friends and Family. The store was the recently opened store at 7761 Winchester Rd., Memphis, TN.
I made a purchase of one item for $16.99, which was discounted to $15.77. I inadvertently picked up the wrong size. The next day I went back to make an even exchange for the same price. I was told by the cashier that I would have to pay the difference of $2.55 more because the sale was off. I do know there should have been and override option. Was there any reason for this action? Please explain this policy, this will let me know if shopping at Burlington is something I want to continue.

returns
I purchased a product from the burlington store in cleveland, oh. I kept the receipt because i wasn't sure if it was going to work for me. Turns out it did not. They would not except the return because i did not have the original packageing. It did not say i had to have the original packageing on the receipt. I will not shop at burlington again and i will make sure that i get the word out about this unfair treatment.
return policy/ most unprofessional customer service
I went to return an item today that I bought for my kid, a lady with an accent was the one assisting me. I returned stuff to other store such as Ross, Walmart..., it's the first time I heard that I cannot get refund back to my account which I initially paid with and the only refund will be cash, I am very very disappointed of how the conversation was handled by this cashier, she made it sounds very personal. And was saying that" I didn't believed her" when a talked to her manager. This person needs to be educated about customer service and that when a person talk to the manager it's not about her but because they need and deserve explanation as customers. Totally unprofessional . Burlington needs to educate their employees about what customer service means otherwise people jut like me will never ever want to shop there again! And need to make it clear of how your money as customer will be refunded. Awful experience in this store if there is negative point to I will give the max-----
front end management
02-19-2016 Today I visited Burlington Coat Factory in Henderson, NV. I found everything I wanted and I went and stood in line. I was in line for about 20 minutes. While I was standing there waiting the front end person was scanning peoples items while they were waiting in line. She bypassed me and I assume maybe she saw I had a gift card in my hand. Finally, when it, s my turn I proceed to the register and the nice young man rings up my order. He tells me the price I have exact change included the gift card. I'm getting ready for my receipt and he tells me there is something wrong. He calls the same woman that was scanning items while I was in line and she comes over and says that they can't finish my transaction because the gift card area has been down awhile and it still was not up. I asked her when it might be back up and she said maybe 30 minutes and I could wait. I understand things happen but waiting 20 minutes in line I feel she should have said something to warn the people in line that the gift card area was down. when I left there was about 15-20 people in line waiting. I think again she should have told the people of the possibility of the gifts cards not working at this time. I don't usually complaint but I feel Like I wasted an hour and a half in your store and could not purchase.

So what's this store try to do? Stolen costumer money with this new sistems?
OKLAHOMA CITY, OKLAHOMA -- I ordered a car seat with an extra base. The base did not have the same name as what we ordered. We ordered a Snugride 35 we got a Snugride Classic Connect 30/35 LX. This is a Graco item and per Graco they are one and the same. I just want to know how I'm supposed to know they are one and the same, if the name has been changed then someone should update it on the website. I also had contacted them via email to check mailing status and I never got a response back. This was my first and last time ordering from them.
web service. store online.
Worst Service Ever. Worst Online Store Experience.
I cant believe when i receive an email today, 8 days after I placed an order in the Burlington Coat Factory web store of a gift for a baby shower of a friend happening this Saturday. I even called the store to confirm they order and they confirmed delivery time.
The email say they sorry. I am never coming back to this store online. Terrible, terrible. I am very disappointed.

I have had a truly HORRENDOUS experience with the Virginia Beach store! If I could give negative stars, I would. I ordered a nursery dresser almost a month before my baby was due. They told me that it would take 6-12 weeks to come in, so I was prepared to not have anywhere to put baby clothes for a while. However, when the 12th week finally rolled around and I still hadn't heard from the store, I called to ask about it. The first response I got was, "It's here. We called you a month ago, but your phone wasn't working." I haven't had any problems with receiving calls or messages on my phone. Whatever. I asked how big the box was so that I could make sure it would fit in one of our vehicles to pick it up. Fifteen minutes later, the woman gets back on the phone to say that they can't find it, and they will call me back. I ask how they're going to call me back considering they had problems calling me in the first place, so she tells me to call if they haven't called back by 2PM. Surprisingly, the manager did call by 2PM, but explained that another woman ordered the same dresser 3 weeks after I ordered mine, and they sold it to her. (So they completely made up the fact that they had called me a month earlier and my phone wasn't working!) He offered a 25% discount, but said they didn't know when the other dresser would arrive. I thanked him for the discount, but clarified it shouldn't take any longer than another 3 weeks since they should have ordered a 2nd dresser when the other woman ordered hers, and he said that was correct. Well, now we're at a total of 15 weeks, and there is still no dresser and no projected time frame. The manager claims that he can't give me any more of a discount because 25% is the max. I ordered this dresser almost an entire month before my baby was born, and I will literally be off maternity leave by the time this dresser arrives, IF it even arrives! The Amish could have made a dresser faster! And it's not like it's coming already assembled, either! What kind of a company doesn't even get a manifest for their orders to be able to tell me if it's even coming? This is ridiculous on so many levels. BEWARE! Go elsewhere for all of your buying needs. I will certainly never order from Burlington Coat Factory again, and I'm thinking about just disputing my down-payment with my credit card and buying a dresser from Amazon or Wayfair. Either place would have one to me within a week!
rude racist employees (against white people) and rude unprofessional manager
On January 20th, 2015 my husband and myself decided to give the Burlington store one more chance after being totally displeased from previous experiences from shopping at that store. We were sorry we gave them another chance! What a poorly run store! The employees, who were mainly african american and hispanic were on a power trip with their rude attitudes toward me and my husband. When I complained to the manager, also Hispanic his demeanor was basically as if to say "we don't care!" We are definitely never shopping there ever again!
layaway
I PUT MY SON AND GRAND DAUGHTER XMAS SHOES IN LAYAWAY AND KEPT PAYING ON IT. I WENT TO GET LAYAWAY OUT IT WAS NOT THEIR. I CERTAINLY WAS NOT TOLD THAT RIGHT OFF HAND. On two separate occasions, a large (approx. 6' 4", 230 lbs.) female clerk at the register behaved in a bullying and rude way towards me at the register.
i believe it was both times that i dealt with her, i would slowly and politely reach for the receipt from the sale to place it in my bag and she instructed me as if I were a private in the Army or something and she was a drill sergeant, that I was not to reach towards the register. "They have cameras on you!" she warned. Mind you i was not reaching into the drawer but only reaching for a slip of relatively worthless register tape.
She behaves at least towards me as if I should be very afraid of her and scowls at me every time I have seen her.
This may be racially motivated towards me as I am white and she is African American or it may be that she thinks I am a gay male due to my purchased items... whatever the reason, i feel intimidated and mistreated as a cash paying customer.
If i were there to steal I would certainly not do it at the point of sale from in front of her and several others. I see no excuse for her rude bullying manner.
I have bought 3 pairs of shoes from here and within a month the tore out and ripped. I also got my son wind pants and they tore in 4 places after wearing them 3 times. I will not buy this stuff there again.
returns
Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing to express my strong dissatisfaction and disappointment with your store's return policy and lack of proper advertising of the policy on your receipts. I purchased 2 watches last december of 2012 priced at $19.99 each and i needed to return them last week as the the person i was going to gift them to is deceased. I clearly understood that i wouldn't be getting a refund back on my credit card as it is past the 30 days, however i expected to receive store credit in the amount i paid, as that is what is stated on your receipt. Instead, the associate gave me $20 in store credit and not $40 and stated that she could only give me what the current price of the watches are because it is past 60 days. I would understand that would be the regulation if i didn't have the receipt or if the tags were not attached, but i had everything, receipt and tags and the watches were still attached to the box never taken out. My complaint is that no where on the receipt does it state after 60 days of purchase i would only receive current price. It only says after 60 days of purchase you would receive store credit. Stores like Ross and Marshall's clearly state their fair return policies where you would receive full refund in form of payment received within 30 days and after 30 days so long as you have the receipt would be returned in store credit with amount you paid. ONLY if there was no receipt they would return store credit with current price value.
I am thoroughly disgusted and appalled with your attempt to steal customer's money by not clearly stating your return policy on your receipts. I am not going to accept or let this matter go. Your approach is very deceitful and negligent and i would like to know what you are going to do about this.
I expect a substantial refund in the remainder of what i paid in the form of store credit. If i have to take matters further i shall, and i should warn you that social media alone will spread this complaint virally.
Yours faithfully,
May

this store location is a disgrace.
On a recent visit to the Minneapolis area, I popped into the Burlington store on Highway 100 South, to pick up a few items quickly.
It was the worst experience that I have ever had at any of the Burlington locations.
The store was a complete wreck - new items thrown on the floor. Merchandise stacked in carts and pushed in corners, including several blocking the fire exit doors (camera phone pictures will be forwarded to the local fire marshal). The floors were filthy. The shelves were dirty.
And the store employees looked like vagrants. There were three near the toy department using all types of profanity. They looked at me and continued cursing as if I was not even there. Also, throughout the entire store all of the employees, except the cashiers were either having cell phone conversations on their phones or texting.
This store is a disgrace. The employees there are a disgrace. And the management at that location is a disgrace.
I plan on telling everyone I can reach about this, and I will be posting photos and video as well.

defective luggage
Bought Guess luggage. Went on a trip to Florida a few days later. Returned from Florida one week later with multiple tears on the luggage. Brought the luggage back to Burlington Coat Factory and told them the luggage was used for the designed purpose as luggage. The luggage is defective and I want to exchange it. Not only did they refuse to exchange the luggage but they laughed at me as I walked out the door. I will never purchase anything again from Burlington Coat Factory especially the one at 13739 Hgwy 183 N Austin, TX Store Manager is Wayne H.
Ok I will.
rude in store customer service
Hello, my complaint is towards Burlinton's Coat Factory "inhumane" employees/staff. I have been shopping in this store for many years, and it will be my last, due to rudeness and an "inhumane" act towards myself, my family and one that I witnessed towards a young couple. On so forth to my story, my family and I had shopped in the store earlier and left to shop around the other stores, as the mall was closing we walked towards Burlington Coat Factory once again to go to our car because we had parked it right in front of the store's parking lot. The "Manager" and another employee told us that we couldn't go in anymore due to security purposes that only allowed them to let people out (of course, I thought) but not in anymore. I beg them to please let us go in to get to our car because I had to take my small children out in the freezing temperature as we would have to go around the whole mall just to get to our car when it was just parked right in front of their store. I had my newborn, my 2year old and my 6 year old whom's Asthmatic and they would still not let us go back in to get to our car. Here's my biggest anger towards the store's "supposedly" not letting people back in policy, as I was begging to the store's "Manager" and another employee some other customers left the store but turned around and asked if they could still go back inside to go to their car which the other employee immediately said "oh yeah, of course" I felt very upset and asked the manager why would they let those people go in but not us, as we also had been customers earlier? Her "dumb" response was "they were just in here" I asked " what is the difference? If they had already gotten out of the store just like us!". So where does their "not letting people go back into the store policy" go into effect? I believe, Store Policies should be equal towards everyone. Another incident right around the same time was of a young couple that had left their car keys cars inside the store and were also "begging" to let them back in to look for them, as they knew the spot were they might have left them. The "Manager" of course said no, she asked the young couple to leave their name and phone number and she would call them if their keys were found! The young couple then exclaimed " hello, I need my keys to go back home!" the "Manager" said, "well it's not our fault that you lost them" I was like "wow" how rude and stupid for her to reply back to them like that. I ask that Burlinton Coat Factory be equal to everybody. By the way, my kids got a cold due to the long walk around the mall in the freezing temperature.
Peter Brockman and icu2, in the first place I ask you for a little more respect as I would never call a person ignorant if I have not met them in person. What gives you the right to call me ignorant and irresponsible when you do not know if my kids were wearing a jacket or not! Ignorance if those whom don't ask questions, did you ask me if my kids were wearing jackets or not? For your information, the reason that we were at Burlington Coat Factory was to donate the store many jackets for their annual coat drive, the reason that I did not mentioned it in my complaint it's because I'm not the type of person whom mentiones those types of things. But if I purchased from them and donated many coats they could at least have the politeness to let us in. Peter Brockman what gives you the right to call me a failure as a parent?! When the failure may be yourself for not having respect towards people as you don't know one bit of what type of a person I am with my kids. icu2 I know that colds are not caught by the weather as I'm "germafobe" myself, colds are also caught by people whose immune system is weakened by the cold weather such as asthma sufferers like my children. Thank you both though for your opinions towards my complaint. Have a great week to come, GOD bless your family and I hope you guys never go through that ordeal or get stranded in cold weather wishing to take cover in some place warm.
