service dept manager
Took my car in as usual for my bi-annual oil change (I've been going there for years!) . The service manager was not friendly. Work was done, I paid and left not feeling like it was a good experience. (First time I had ever seen this guy). Got into the car and the driver's matt was full of dirt which it wasn't when taken in. I took the matt in to show him, he was not happy but said he would clean it. Not the best job but better. What happened to those paper matt's the mechanic would put down when they were in the car? Experience getting worse.
I had a synthetic oil change with the Castrol promo. If you get 6 oil changes you get the 7th free. He gave me my sticker. Somehow I lost the tag.
Went back a week later (after looking everywhere)to see if I could get a replacement tag. Well, no he said since what's stopping me from coming back and getting an extra free oil change. I said, 1-wouldn't do that, 2-you have my record showing what services were done.
Not a nice guy. Not a nice experience. Not sure I will go back .
manager at innisfil location
I was shopping at the Canadian tire at the Innisfil beach road location, when I overheard a manager yell at an employee and say he would knock her teeth out.
This is not okay. This manager should not be in a power position working with other people, especially younger people who are probably intimidated to say something. I walked by after to find his name and it is Doug. This needs to be addressed. I will not be shopping at Canadian Tire until this is resolved.
Thank you

booster pack
Hi i bought a mastercraft booster pack in october 2016 worked fine for 3 weeks and when i tried recharging it nothing happened so i went to get it exchanged .. i paid 183$ ruffly for it .. so i was disapointed and felt like i got ripped off.. i went to exchange it and i was concerned that the product might do the same thing again and wasnt worth the money .. so finally i had no choice to exchange it which i did.. but this one lasted 7 months and the same thing happened it wouldnt charge anymore .. so i go back and all i can do is exchange it again for the same product.. im told i can do this as much as i want till my one year garantie is over... or i can get one thats more expensive and pay the difference.. but i cant get my money back.. so my choice was either i get for the third time a product that stopped working or i pay more .. so i had no choice but to get one that was more expensive if i didnt want to loose my money and end up paying 183$ for a booster pack for one year.. needless to say but i believe that a booster pack should last longer than a few months especially if i bought it just incase of an emergency and that i never used it as of now.. its 20$ to get boosted by a taxi where im from so the booster pack really isnt worth it since by the time ill be needed it probably wont work anymore .. needless to say but im very disapointed in your return policy .. i can understand some people are not always honest.. but when you sell a product that doesnt do what it says and stops working i think its your policy your obligation to satisfy your customers.. which isnt the case for me because i my only options where to get the same product again or pay more .. so i will strongly avoid buying anything else from canadian tire and i will also strongly encourage evrybody i know not to do so either because the return policy is ridiculus
oil change
I got my oil changed at the Canadian Tire store in Trenton Ontario in January. Ever since, my car has reeked like oil because they spiller it everywhere. Yesterday, the smell was so bad, I will popped the hood and realized the cap for the oil was off and flipped upside down. Luckily, my car still had oil in the engine. I am requesting that the store give me a complimentary synthetic oil change, seeing as how they didn't do it properly the first time. I would also like all of the oil that spiller in my engine cleaned up.
product misrepresentation and poor in-store customer service
On June 5, 2017, I purchased a Suncast Aquawinder Auto Rewind Hose Reel online using Visa for $87.43 and subsequently received an email indicating the item was ready for pickup at the Canadian Tire located at 7650 Markham Road, Markham ON L3S 3K1.
After waiting in line at the Customer Service Refund and Exchange counter for 30 minutes, I asked the manager Chris for assistance and he proceeded to bring out a hose reel that was not in any box and damaged with no instructions and missing parts. Chris pointed out the damage and said the he was going to personally obtain another hose reel and call me when available. A refund was subsequently processed.
Chris called me later that evening and said that he located another hose reel and that it was ready for pickup.
I visited the store again for pickup and saw that the hose reel was still not boxed. However, I assumed that this was the correct item and proceeded with payment. After returning home, closer inspection showed that this was apparently the same damaged item that was previously purchased.
I called Chris to complain but he has not yet returned my call. I can only assume that this was a deliberate attempt at misrepresentation with the sale of a defective product.
I will be returning the item for refund. This has been one of the worst online purchasing experiences and has caused a great deal of inconvenience. I intend to followup with the Canadian Tire Corporate office and will also describe my experience on social media.
The receipt and online order are attached for reference
treadmill
I bought a Horizon treadmill from Canadian Tire in Sarnia. After 5 months while still under warranty the treadmill began to have problems so I called Horizon and found out they have no repairman in my area. ( I live in a city of 70000 people 60 miles from Detroit or 60 miles from London Ontario. I could bring the treadmill back to the store for a new one. This would be ok for a small item like a toaster . To bring it back to the store I would have to take it apart, then get someone to help me lift it ( it is very heavy), get a truck to bring it back and then repeat in the reverse order when I get one from the store. Which again would include putting it back together. Also what happens after the first year when it breaks down again? Since there is no repairman in my area I will never be able to get it repaired. Had there been a sign in Canadian Tire that this treadmill could not be repaired but only replaced if you disassemble and lug it back to the store I would not have bought it and I guess not too many other people would either. This very disappointing service from both Canadian Tire and Horizon.
pricing
bought 2 front shocks for my car at the Canadian Tire in my area. I asked what they would charge for installation. I was told if I wanted a written estimation ahead of time I would be charged what the manual suggests. If I would have installation done without a written estimation it would cost me the time it takes. 3 weeks later my shocks came in. Well the car went in at 1:20 p.m. and came out at 1:40 p.m. It took 20 minutes. the charge was for48 minutes (.8) of an hour. When I asked about the difference I was told they always charge according by the book.
auto repair estimate #[protected] bordered on fraud
I was returning to Ontario from Nova Scotia on May 23, 2017, when the left side exhaust manifold blew out. Crossing Hwy 417 in Ottawa at the time, I made a noisy exit at Carleton Place, because I knew there was a Canadian Tire Service Centre there. I arrived at about 10:30 am, and because it was busy, was told it would take some time to do a diagnosis. At about 11:30 am the mechanic put my 1997 Ford Expedition on the hoist and took about half an hour to make his diagnosis. He then drove the truck back to the parking lot and disappeared. (I learned late from a service manager that the mechanic had gone for lunch without providing an estimate for my repairs). The mechanic returned at about 1:30 pm, and at 1:45 pm I was provided an estimate to replace manifolds and exhaust components. It came to $4, 200, or about three times what the entire vehicle was worth. I said "no thanks", and limped home to Peterborough, Ontario.
On May 24, I took the same vehicle, with the same problems, to an automotive repair shop in Peterborough where I had great service in the past. When my mechanic saw the CTC quote, he was literally outraged, saying "this is what gives mechanics a bad name." He told me that "worst case scenario", if he had to replace "every nut, bolt, screw and exhaust component", it would cost about $1, 500. I booked the repair for June 1.
I picked the truck up this morning. The work was completed as planned, AND Jesse found and fixed another exhaust leak that the CTC mechanic had not even mentioned. Taxes in, my cost for the local, private repair work was $1, 331.77.
Canadian Tire executives ... I have been a loyal customer in the past, but no longer. You tried to rip me off to the tune of $2, 800. Not only have you lost a customer, but I will tell everyone I know to avoid your automotive service like the plague, AND I am going to contact Consumer Affairs Canada.
Like my mechanic in Peterborough, I am outraged.
disrespectful, unprofessional cashier with poor customer services
This Afternoon, My Dad and I and my son visited the Canadian Tire Store to buy some gardening soil. The store is located at 3500 No. 3 Road
Richmond, BC V6X 2C1.
After consulted with the store manager we decided to take FOUR bags of flower soil each weighted 85L. Due to the volume and the size of the soil bags so we decided to put THREE at the bottom of the rack on the shopping cart, and only leave ONE bag on top.
By the time we reached the Cashier stations. We saw two lights were on, but with one cashier available only. My dad and I finally pushed the heavy shopping cart through the narrow path way, the Cashier asked him to find the barcode on the soil bag for him to scan. So we found it and told the Cashier where he can scan. Then he rushed to give us a total, I them looked at the screen and noticed that there are three more soil bags at the bottom he missed out. so I pointed out to him that three were under. But he told me that I am supposed to bring each bag to the counter top for him to scan. I was firm that I am not going to because it is too heavy to carry up to the counter and down back to the cart for three 85L soil bags. Can't he just help us and just walk around and simply scan the barcode three times? I told him clearly that as a staff it should be his job to oversee everything, if I walk out of the store it is their loss of missing three items. I think the reason behind this is that he greets a group of people in Spanish lining up behind me and wanted to talk to them. Freedom of speech, no problem. But it does seems unprofessional that he rush one customer in order to serve another customer that he knows. However, this is not the end of it, he insisted that it is my fault not to carry the bags for him to scan so he missed out three items. I was pissed off and told him to call the manager in to decide who should carry and who should be responsible for counting the items in the shopping cart. He didn't even finish his job but let me to give the spots to the next person which he knows and greeted in Spanish earlier on. How could he know that I am not buying the soil and just being so rude to let a lady with a senior and a child to leave the cashier. All I want is to let the store manager see if it is customer's responsibility to find the barcode, carry the items to the counter top and tell exactly how many items they have in the cart to the cashier? It is totally ridiculous policy I had ever heard! And I couldn't believe it happened in Canadian Tire. So I insisted to see the manager, but his Mexican friends wouldn't choose to line up in a cashier next to him and they said they will call the store security guard to let me leave the store. I did yell, as I was very angry and said" don't you threaten me with your [censor]ing security"! I think he deserves it! The poor unprofessional customer services of Canadian Tire are driving people nuts! Today I am filing this complain to the Corporate Office, and if your response is the same with that Cashier, that means Canadian Tire values Rudeness and disrespect to customers. Even though the store manager finally showed up, he was also questioning me why I was so angry. After I described everything to him, he simply asked me to complain the Cashier without any apology! He told me the cashier's name: Moddesy.
Maybe Canadian Tire share the same value with that Cashier "Moddesh" If this is your corporate culture, then please display it on the store so everyone knows that it is customer's job to count and carry heavy shopping items. But think about world of mouth and see how many people dare to bring any business with you anymore!
disrespectful employee
Yesterday evening, I went to Canadian tire and bought quite a few things. unfortunately, I forgot a bag in which there were two fidget spinners for my children. I went back to get it a few hours later and asked a cashier there if my bag was found. That dark skinned lady cashier laughed at the way I spoke french. It was truly disrespectful. I didn't expect that from someone that works there. I ended up by not finding my bag and getting laughed at. Isn't that just amazing? Anyways, I am writing this because she had a negative affect on me, a costumer of long time and she made me not want to go to Candian tire anymore.
Thank you.
customer service
Drayton Valley, Alberta- Canadian Tire
12:15p.m.
I went into the store on my lunch break from work, I was looking for a particular plant that was in the flyer, I was told that there were 4 available but no one knew where they were! It took more than 10 minutes to find someone working in the garden center & when we did find them they had no idea what kind of plant it was or where it was located! When I found my purchases and went to pay there was only one register open (the customer service register) during the lunch hour, there was a line up of customers to the door! When it was finally my turn & I asked about the price match on my item I was told that only a manager can do the price match. I was asked to wait until they found a manager. Meanwhile a customer behind me was served & was helped by the MANAGER. I was left standing there with no assistance for over HALF OF AN HOUR! When I asked what the holdup was, I was then told that the managers were away for lunch. It took until 1:02p.m. before a different manager came on shift & was able to help me! Normally I am a very patient person but this was ridiculous! The most ridiculous thing about this entire experience was when the manager told the customer service lady that management was not needed for a price match & that she could have done it!
troy bilt rototiller
Purchased May 20, 2017.
Used the machine for 5 minutes.
Found the construction quality to be inferior for a $1, 000 rototiller.
Took the machine back to the Georgetown, Ontario CTC store.
The store advised that since it had been used, we had to deal with Troy Bilt.
Troy Bilt advised that since nothing was broken, they would not authorize a return.
Contacted CTC corporate customer relations, but they have repeated the same story as the store.
flyer misleading advertising
in the flyer dated may 25 - June 1 called the Spring Madness 8 day sale there was a bundle offer for a trimmer and a blower for $134.99
item number [protected]
I went to the Yonge Street location tonight to buy the bundle and was first told that they were out of stock and that I could get a rain check.
I said fine and then I asked for the rain check and was told that this offer expired yesterday as this was only on a 4 day sale. This was not clear to me at all and I don't accept that as an acceptable answer and find this to be very misleading. The whole headline of the flyer says 8 day sale with clear dates at the top!
I have a picture showing me in the store tonight if you would like me to send to you.
I believe that you should honour this price and make your exceptions clearer in your communication. The whole idea of the flyer is to attract existing and new customers to your store - and I feel now that I have been badly tricked by Canadian Tire and am very upset about this treatment

price accuracy policy
Sunday May 28, 2017
Laval Vimont Store.
Pricing in the store is very bad. Most of the time, labelling on the product shelf itself is wrong.
Exemple I have from Sunday, is for a basket ball. The product was clearly displayed at a discounted price. But at the casier, the price was not the right one. The product was not in sale, price as not discounted. It's not like if the item was misplace by a customer, the price was put there with a full racking of the product and with the description on the price on the shelf that match the product.
After talking with the store manager, they gave me the excuses that the employee who made the display made a mistake and that it's not the store responsibility or fault.
As a big corporation, price accuracy policy should be perfect and responsibility from the store should be taken, following the law.

Hi
I bought a Yardworks 163 CC self propelled Lawn Mover in April 2016. Last season it worked well, and by the beginning of this season when I started to cut grass on my yard after 10 minutes it stopped the self propelled function. So in order to cut the grass I had to push very hard. I understood the problem was with the front wheel. I contacted the store, where I bought the equipment, and the lady who picked the phone told me that the wheel is available at the store. When I went to buy it the guys in the concerned section told me that they are not selling wheels of that kind of machine. They gave a service centre address and I contacted them. They asked me to bring the machine to their shop, unfortunately it is about 20 KM away from my house. I took the equipment to them and they told me that it will take a couple of weeks to complete the repairs, because it covers guarantee.
It is very sad to say that, it is almost three weeks now, the equipment is still with them. Twice I called them and got the reply that "it is not ready, once it is ready we will let you know". Meanwhile I took a machine on rent and cut my yard and I am in a situation to repeat the procedure.
I know that to replace a wheel it will take 10 minutes of job even a layman.
Please let me know what to do
Regards
Thomas
car service
I came today to Canadian tire at Rutherford and highway 400 to have my e-brake checked since it was non-functional. Upton proceeding there was a charge of 35$. Waiting 1h later, I was called only to be notified about further charges, a 50$ charge. We have come here many times to ask and make sure all charges are fair and are right. Further asking to write down the charges which I would need to pay to continue for confirmation, I was sworn at and treated with the least amount of respect possible only to cancel the order and waste my time.
auto service at oshawa gibb location (ontario)
I am not impressed. I took my van in by appointment yesterday morning to have my all-season tires put on (Location: oshawa gibb). I stored my all seasons with ct over the winter season and I left them without damages. I waited from 8-10:30 for them to complete the change over. I was told that the two of my drivers side tires were damaged and I had to pay to get them fixed. My tire pressure light went on in the parking lot of ct and shortly after that my passenger rear tire was flat to the rim. Upon examination of the tire I found an industrial sized hex screw in my tire. I called back canadian tire and they wouldnt do anything. I went in to the auto centre this morning and the auto manager was so rude and basically laughed in my face. I will never go back to canadian tire again for auto service. I got my winter tires back and will not store them there either. What a joke.

Product on sale at Canadian Tire Abbostford, BC for $24.97 they were out of stock so they directed me to Mission, BC Canadian Tire where they could see on the computer system they had stock. I got to Mission to see that the sale price was not posted. They had it at the regular price of $37.99. I showed them the picture of the Sale Sticker I took in Abbotsford. They would not Match or Honor the sale price, because the store that had it on sale was out of stock.
WTF - It's Canadian Tire they will match other retailer's prices, but they won't honor the sale price of another one of their stores
tires
I buy 4 new tires and they can't even balance them for free...then want to charge me for an alignment...on top of that charge me 160 dollars in labour...for the amount of time it takes to put tires on that's ridiculous...will probably never use this place for my vehicle needs again...can't believe I bothered applying for a credit card...what a waste of my time!
could not buy a battery without a phone number
My son was at the Canadian tire store in Orangeville, Ont, on Sunday the 21st of may. He went there to purchase a battery for a tractor. At the automotive desk The clerk proceeded to fill out an invoice and ask my son for his phone number, my son told him he did not have a phone. He was told he could not purchase this product without a phone number . He then left the store. I called the store and spoke to a manager who said he could purchase the battery but could not get a warranty as he did not have a phone number but he could use someone else phone number
Can you please explain to me why a person needs a phone to get a warranty.
My son makes a lot of purchases at Canadian tire and is not very happy with this practice and feels he is being discriminated against because he does not own a phone. Yes I have a phone but, He is a grown man and has his own residence and does not feel he should have to use my information alt all.
