Canadian Tire stand up paddle board

Recieved a flyer for sale between April 20-23 for standup paddle board with paddle. Product was only available in nearest store which was over a hour away. Manager explained this was a misprint on the ad and provided us with attached print out word document and said it has been updated. I have also provided a screenshot of your website which is also stating the deal. We ended up only getting the paddleboard as the manager said we can take it up with corporate office for the paddle. After this discussion We ended up waiting over an hour and half for them to pull the paddle board from the back. Overall we are extremely dissatisfied with the false advertisement and the service we were provided. I am hoping we can resolve this otherwise I am submitting a complaint to the competition burea.

Canadian Tire weekly flyer

Hello there. I am very very angry and frustrated with Canadian Tire. Canadian Tire's Big Red Weekend flayer from Thursday April 20-Sunday April 23 had a Pelican Standish Paddleboard listed for $379.99, $150 off the regular price of $529.99 and it also stated paddle included. I had another paddleboard on order from a different business other than Canadian Tire for $200 off its regular price. The Canadian Tire paddleboard was a better deal so I decided to cancel my order at the other business and then I proceeded to Canadian tire to buy this one on sale . When the employees at Canadian tire brought out the paddleboard from the warehouse I had noticed it did not have bungee straps or the side handles as shown in the picture. I asked the employee where the bungee straps were and also where the handles were and I was told they don't come with them. So why I am so angry is because the picture shows the bungee straps and the handles on the paddleboard and nothing in the flyer says not exactly as shown. And also, there was no paddle included. So to me, this would be false advertising. I left the store not buying the paddleboard and also I'm out $200 because I cancelled my order at the other business at the sale price. I have been a lifelong shopper at Canadian tire and now I will not do anymore shopping there unless I absolutely have to .

Canadian Tire auto shop misdiagnosis

I had my 2009 Chevy Aveo Towed to 1519 Regent Ave West branch. My car was not starting and i gave the service agent the information about how the car died. I explained to him that the car started to shake and sputter, with the engine and hold light flashing. I handed him the keys. About an hour later we received a call to come back down and get the diagnosis. The invoice stated word for word " no power to small terminal on starter, possible ECM or instrumental cluster issue customer recommended to report to deal for repair." So we took the advice and called Chevy and got them to order the ECM that cost 335 dollars to install with labour. What chevy found out is that it was neither the ECM or instrument cluster. We then spoke to the Service adviser at chevy and she said "we dont normally like to throw other companies under the bus but, it was nothing to do with either of these suggestions. My partner and i were both not happy to find this out. So we went to Canadian Tire Regent location and spoke to a service manger that was at the till. we explained the situation to him and all we wanted was the 130.00$ for diagnosis they gave us or part of it back, considering it was maybe 50 dollars in labor for them to find that out, and 335 dollars it cost us from their "suggestion"). He said because the word PROBABLY was in the diagnosis that it was a guess they had. I said well we took YOUR word for it. If you weren't sure your mechanic should have said "we have no idea, take car to dealer ship, we'll only charge you 50 dollars because we couldn't help you." we just wanted some compensation for the inaccurate diagnosis. Considering they weren't right at all. He refused to compensate us which was greatly disappointing. I have always brought my vehicle to Canadian tire for anything auto body wise, and as it stands i'm never going to consider or recommend, services or suggestions from this company again unless i am reimbursed.

Canadian Tire poor customer service experience

Today is April 17th, 2017 and I visited one Canadian Tire store (my home location in Welland, Ontario, Canada). I was in search of a conversation set item # 88-0765X that is on sale in your current flyer from 1699.99 down to 1449.99. I asked the customer service rep. if I could see the project to understand more about what it looks like and materials feel like and they said they had no room for floor models that big. They also said they could not take a box off the highest shelf (closest to the ceiling) to open for me to view. I called two other stores in Niagara Falls and they both said they had no floor models to view and they too would not take a box off the shelf unless I was going to buy it. How does someone expect another individual to pay $1500 on something you can't even see? Another issue I want to complain about is the two stores in Niagara Falls that I called (McLeod Road and Montrose) and for each location I got through to customer service and sent through to departments where no one ever picked up. I had to hang up and call back three times for each store, where the final call took me over 17 minutes to get through, to someone who was not helpful in the least bit. He told me I could wait behind the back of the store for someone to potentially open the door to let me into the docking area if I really wanted to look at it- but with no gaurantees. Apparently I am 'expected' to purchase the item first before they take an item that large off the shelf for me to see and with a tone, the gentlemen proceeded to tell me "we don't have that much on our showroom floor you know". He was on speakerphone and my mother heard the whole conversation. She was just as disgusted as I. For a customer who consistently shops at your store, I was so turned off with my three experiences today and only hope that you will check into this situation so that you don't lose more customers over silly things like employees attitudes and timeliness to answer a simple phone call.

Thanks for your time,

Krista Peterson

Canadian Tire refund on core part

I purchased a Starter Motor for my wife's car on 04-07-2017, I paid cash via a debit card and received a written receipt. The order # is [protected]

I returned to a Canadian tire store to receive back my $15, 00 core I paid for at the time of my purchase. I was asked for my phone number, gave it, and was told I am NOT IN YOUR SYSTEM.

I was then asked for my name which I provided along with my phone number and was then told to provide my drivers licence for PROOF of individual requesting a return.

I showed my ID with my name and was then told I needed provide my full address and was asked how many years I lived at that residence?

I then stated, this was a cash sale and my personal information is of no concern to you, as to how long I have lived at any residence is clearly NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS!

It was demanded that I provide my address and if not, I wont get my money back!

I asked for a manager and the woman was reluctant and proceeded to appear to be doing something, yet was clearly not seeking the assistance of a manager.

After several minutes, one was paged and came to the customer service counter after speaking to your employee and stated, I had to give my full Identification for the system to give me a refund.

I informed her, I paid cash, she stated " SHE DIDNT CARE" the system was set up for all refunds.

I informed her, that was unacceptable to me. I do have the right to choose to where I shop, which she stated with a smile, yes you do, not proffesional at all.

Being in law enforcement, my privacy and right to privacy is paramount, this was a debit/cash sale, I am not applying for a credit card and my ID clearly stated my name and you already had my phone number.

Your approach for a refund is OFFENSIVE!

If i was anyone else, I am sure they wouldn't have a choice yet to succumb to your demands for personal information which is hardly required for a return of an item listed on a receipt as a core charge.

I do have the choice as to where I purchase my products.

This would not have been problematic, except for the condescending attitude that I had done something wrong for even trying to return the core for a refund in the first place.

Your response and my refund will determine my future actions and in the end, I may just have a broken Starter motor for my wall with a picture of your store beside it, to remind myself and everyone I know as to why it is sitting there in the first place.

Not a problem for me.

Shame on YOU!

As per your receipt, it is clearly stated, ORIGINAL Credit/Debit card required! I was unfortunate to NOT have made it that far, perhaps in the future, your receipt will clearly identify your invasive and unwarranted breach of a Private Citizens right to Privacy, something which for me is far more important than your Core charge you apparently want to keep as a additional fee for a part.

Sincerely

Canadian Tire tires and wheels

I supposed to buy today (canadiantire store, heron *630pm) a new set of tires and rims but the guy on the counter told me to check online because he cant do it on his computer and check ebay bla bla (instead of promoting canadian tire's product, he is promoting other online ). That is why I came to store to buy and get help to finalize the tires and wheels that I need. He should not be working on the desk for customer help. He should be working at the back to do stacks and avoid talking, he sounds very unprofessional no working ethics. Called the attention of manager to file a complaint against him. He doesnt know anything about customer service. Get him out.

Canadian Tire woods rubber boots

I have purchased a pair of Woods boots with neoprene top because they are the only rubber boots to fit my permanently injured foot from military service. The first pair lasted a year and the bottom wore through so in got 10 percent of the next pair I bought with an improved sole. Well it's a year later and the sole is fine but the rubber seam split open, looks like a manufacturers defect. After all was said and done, I couldn't find my receipt and was simply turned away. Now I understand the rules but the computer infront of the clerk has all my purchases for the last 40 years was never opened to my account or list of purchases. I was simply turned away. She wouldn't even discuss it further. I'm looking on Amazon now and this old Vet will probably never return to Canadian tire.

Canadian Tire product ; wrong colour stain

So today my wife and I purchased a gallon of Rez stain, we were staining the window trim in our new home, interior. When we got home and opened it, i didnt think it was right but, dipped in a brush and applied a couple strokes. Wrong colour ! And then I looked at the can and it stated it was Exterior stain. I dont know if thats why but in any case it was wrong. This is a new house and I dont want to mess it up. So I went back to The Fort Erie Canadian Tire Store and tried to return it. The cashier I spoke to said she had been instructed not to refund me . Its my problem. Why should Canadian Tire care about it right ? I am only a customer who has renevated two homes and built three and purchased a lot of home supplies as electrical plumbing and various hardware. But should I continue to buy products if Canadian Tire doesnt care if its right ? First put this out there on facebook about what kind of store the Fort Erie Canadian Tire is. I am very disappointed

Canadian Tire human resources

This email is to notify you of unethical hiring practices used by either your franchisee in Dieppe or your entire chain as a whole. I responded to an add on a jobs website indeed.com for a marketing/advertising assistant. The posting was listed from a company called Leadership Marketing. When I arrived to the interview I was informed it was for an assistant manager position at one of your locations in Moncton.

I can not tell you how frustrating it was be so mislead. Between applying and interviewing for this position, I took hours of my time for what essentially turned out to be false advertising. It is an absolute shame that a company of your size and good reputation chooses to associate yourselves with such a duplicitous and morally scrupulous company as Leadership Marketing.

I have to say that my experience with this company and my perception of it has carried over to your brand. Their shabby office and unprofessional demeanor is what I will think of the next time I decide to get my tires changed, have work done on my car or when I am shopping for appliances. There's enough competition in Moncton I am confident I can go without ever darkening your doorstep again.

I would appreciate a follow up regarding how you intend to respond to my feedback. My email is z.[protected]@grinners.ca

P.S I am also considering voicing my frustration on other outlets such as facebook, twitter, and the editorial section of our local paper: The Transcript and Transcript.

Canadian Tire automotive

I am never one to complain ever because I work in the customer service industry and know what it is like, but I took my car in this morning to get serviced, waited a few hours and $300 later went back to it to head to work and realized the mechanic who had been working on it stole my pack of cigarettes and my lighter that I had left in there. My car is very clean and I leave very little in there so it was very obvious because I had one before going in. Not that valuable but concerning for those who leave more valuables items in their car plus that is a very wrong thing to do when you are trusting them, paying them, waiting around for a long time for them with your property. I will never go back and it is the only place I have ever gone. It definetly wasn't an accident or else they would have called back like they did the time they gave me someone else's car keys.

Canadian Tire repair to vehicle

On Dec 19th, 2017 I had my car 2006 Audi towed to Canadian tire in Milton. My Serpentine Belt Broke. A friend suggested I go to Canadian tire as it should probably cost around $150.00 to replace the belt. I received a call from the Canadian tire shop the next day advising me that more damage had been found and it would be approx $1200.00 to repair the problem as the belt had shredded and went into the engine. I agreed to the repair . Two days later I received another call advising me that there was even more damage and it was now approx $2700.00 . At this point I had no choice but to agree to the additional repairs. Then I received another call later that week to say that my engine was not repairable one of the cylinders was gone and it would be approx $7000.00 to replace the engine. I told them I would get back to them. Then to my surprise when I called to discuss my broken engine, I was told it was now running at 100 % . They had no idea how it was even possible ? I was concerned because they told me there was a nick in the cylinder /Piston ? I was very persistent asking if this would later present a problem? The manager assured me that my motor was in perfect running order, no longer needed a new engine. I was relieved and thankful I only had to pay $4700. I picked my car up on January 13th, 2017. On January 16th, 2017 I went out of town for work gone for one week. One week after that I was driving to work and my Motor blew up on the highway( the cylinder /piston that had a nick in it failed). I got the car towed back to the shop. I went up to the shop later that day to speak with them at which time I was told the engine had blown! They already ordered a new engine for me with 141, 000 Km, arranged a rental car for me and they were going to look after me . I was very frustrated to once again not have my car, but was thankful they were looking after me . I asked them to look at my clutch while they had the engine out thinking it would be a good opportunity as it would be easy to access. Wanted to know if they thought replacing it was necessary? The manager was supposed to give me a call to discuss the condition of the clutch before making a decision to replace it. I called them at the end of the week for an update expecting to discuss the situation. I was surprised to hear that my car was basically done and would be ready to be picked up in a couple of days, they wanted to do a few more road tests. This is when I was told that I owed them $1257.63 for the clutch and approx $3000.00 for the motor? They were only charging me cost for the parts and waiving the labour. Once again, when my car was towed there on January 13th, They called me to say that (1) the engine was blown (2) they ordered a newer replacement engine (3)they arranged a rental car for me and (4)that they were going to look after me. At no time did they say” we are only going to charge you for the parts and waive the labour” I did not sign a repair authorization for the clutch or the motor. I did pay for the clutch replacement because I felt it would not be fair since the clutch had nothing to do with my motor issues even though I did not authorize the replacement. But did not pay the additional $3000.00 . On March 11th, 2017 I was driving home from work I started to hear an unfamiliar sound when turning ( several round abouts ) . I merged onto the highway at which time the noise became louder, I did not feel safe continuing so I pulled off at the first exit (Cambridge) . Once again I was waiting for a tow truck to bring my car into Milton. At this point I did not want to bring my car back into Canadian tire. I do not feel they are properly qualified to work on my car. The shop I brought my car was very busy and told me it could be a week before they could look at it . Having no way to get to work I had to rent a car once again. I was out of town from March 25th, 2017 - April 2, 2017. I went up to the shop yesterday April 3rd, 2017 and the Mechanic had my car up on the hoist he told me that there are several problems. After telling him the story that I just outlined, he suggested I discuss this with Canadian tire. He does not want to work on my car, so once again I have no car and no solution in sight. At this point I just want my car fixed . Canadian tire has done so much work to my car, I have no choice but to hold Canadian Tire responsible for my cars current broken state.

Canadian Tire huntshield neoprene rubber boots

I bought a pair of the HuntShield Neoprene 17in rubber boots from Canadian Tire in October. As an avid hunter I enjoyed them a ton for this hunting season as they performed well, warm, and dry. I recently wore them this spring out in the wet weather, and one foot was wet instantly. I inspected closer and noticed my right foot had a hole from the Wear line on the toe bend. Very disappointed in this, especially after initially thinking I had a great product at an excellent price. Unable to find any warranty info for the defect. Any help would be appreciated.

Canadian Tire toaster oven exchange

Yesterday, April 2, 2017, I went into the St thomas ontario location with a toaster oven that my mom had purchased for me as a gift. I just wanted to exchange it for a larger unit (and therefore spend more money). I didn't have my receipt as it was a gift. They had 2 signs posted, one that was a giant poster on the wall and one smaller one right on the counter that says you may exchange or receive store credit without your receipt. The customer service rep denied me any sort of exchange or credit. I pointed out the signs and she said she didn't even know they said that and wasn't sure why they were there. ( keeping in mind these were quite obviously permanent fixtures in the store). I questioned how you can have a sign that cleary states i should get a store credit and refuse me service. She said that every canadian tire makes their own decisions. They don't have one universal corporate policy. Obviously this is not true due to the corporate printed signs they had about refund policy. I asked for a manager, to which i was also denied.
My mom happened to be with me so I asked the rep to do a receipt look up. She scanned all 4 of my mom's potential cards that she may have used and said there was no record and that they couldn't do anything for me. When my mom got home that night she dug around for the receipt and found it and she had used a card that they scanned and told us it wasn't in the system. I am extremely disappointed with how this was handled. I shopped there frequently but had never had to return something. The one time I just wanted to exchange something it was an absolutely horrible experience. Judging by the other 5 customers who were also disgruntled at customer service while I was there that day, this is a common issue. So I will not be returning.

Canadian Tire bike

I bought a nitrous super cycle on mar 26 2017, I took it out for the 1st time on april 4 2017 and the [censor] think broke. So I took it back to the 700 lawrence ave west store to be told there is no refunds are you [censor] kidding me? For 1 your [censor] staff is the one who assembled it not me, so I would understand this policy if I was the one who assembled it. The bike is less then 2 weeks old. How is this even possible? That you are allowed to sell [censor] products and not refund my money when it broke to no fault of my own? I am so pissed off about this I will never step foot into a canadian tire store again.

Canadian Tire customer service

I would like to express how dissapointed I am with the employees at the milton location, we have purchased a patio set from this location a few days ago, after spending almost $2000, we were treated horribly by the staff. Nobody was willing to help us except for a women employee named carol, but all the other staff told us that they can't help us as it is not the department and wouldn't even call anyone over to help us . Then when we were checking out the cashier was so rude and told us that she was having a bad day so she wasn't happy, why should we come back and spend money at Canadian tire if this is the kind of treatment we get

Canadian Tire discounted toys.

I purchased two remote controlled helicopters. I had purchased them for our non profit club to use at an event we are in the middle of planning. I am a member of the Badlands Bucks and Bows Club. We are in the middle of planning a grand opening. We recently opened an archery range in Morrin. I was busy trying to find prises for an out door archery shoot we are planning. And I thought the kids would appreciate winning one of these helicopters. They were on clearance and the tag said unused. All sales final. And sold as is. When I got it home I realised they had been used and damaged. They are badly broken. I would like a full refund since the products are defective. Neither of the helicopters work at all.
Thank you for your time. Sincerely Tammy charlton.

Canadian Tire automotive service adding additional spending twice during the car repair period

I went to Canadian Tire, and intended to change the both front break pads of my car on Mar 22, 2017 in the 3500 No. 3 Road, Richmond, BC.

Firstly, A staff named Wade serviced me. After checking my car, he first gave me a quoted price at $700, then I decided to change the both front break pads here. However, a few minutes later, he told me I need pay more than $1000, because the first quoted price he told me was only for one break pad. I am pretty sure that the question I asked him was, "what's the total price to change the both front break pads?". And, then I decided not to repair there, but he said, they were exchanging the break pads already. On the other word, he had starting repairing my car by giving me a wrong valuation.

And, what was worse, he said a bread pad could not be fitly installed on the one side of my car, so I should buy another component to pay for safety. Then, I asked them to write a contract which confesses they had worked with my car but without installing all the components back in a real safe way. However, when Wade's manager Amanda Cheng came, she said that was just some rust on the component they had handled it, so I shouldn't to worry about it, and they wouldn't write any contract for me. I just don't know who should I trust.

How can you call these services professional? I will never ever go to this automotive service again, because they are just too unprofessional and cheaters.

Canadian Tire auto services

Hi there, today I took my car in to the shop to get new break lines put in and it went in at 9 am and the guy is still working on it. This is a job that should maybe take 4 hours 5 for a new guy I know this because I have done it before on the car. I'm also upset with the fact that now I have no way to get to work tomorrow. I also now have to spend $1500 on my car. This will be the last time I ever go to Canadian tire!

Canadian Tire tide pods

Me and my son went to the Bowmanville. Ontario Candian Tire to buy Tide so a sale sticker on a bug tub of Tide pods. I noticed sticker said the sale was $18.88 and it said it use to be $17.36 ( not sure if the exact cents is correct but you get my drift)? How is that on Sale? Its a $1.50 more than before. I brought sticker up to lady that worked there and she checked some scan thing on her phone than said I am sure they will give it to you for $17.36? That's not on sale then that's what it was. What kind of scam are you guys trying to run at this store. I just put sticker back and left store. That's just crazy. I may just post this on Facebook and see if anyone else has come across this scam
