This company is happy to take your monthly payment and then when you file a claim all you get is a total run around. Our heater started emitting carbon monoxide due to a crack in the heat exchange. Choice sent out 2 companies both stating that there was a crack due to wear and tear. Choice decided to deny our claim stating it was rust and not wear and tear- even though this heater was 20 years old and extremely clean. They then assigned a so called "case manager" to us was absolutely no help. She was simply a mouth piece for the company repeating what the denial said. When we asked her to look at the pictures from both companies that showed absolutely NO RUST- her response was that she was not privy to any pictures and had to go by what the company told her... what? How can you do your job if you can't or won't look at what both contractors sent in? This company is a joke and a complete rip off. BUYER BEWARE! Our claim #[protected] this Nov 2018 and the worthless case manager's name was Keisha Brown. We immediately cancelled our policy with Choice and have been and will continue to tell everyone who will listen NOT TO GO WITH THIS COMPANY. I have attached photos to show how clean our furnace/heater was- these pictures are from the contractors who were sent out by Choice.

never filed a claim this year against our home warranty plan. In November we have to make over 8 phone calls to have choice find someone to correct our heating issue. After we put in the claim we continued to get emails from choice home warranty that they were unable to find anyone to provide services for the problem with our heating. We ended up having to go to weeks without heat our home temperature was at 58゚. We finally were able to have someone come out to are home However when the technician came to the home and was able to identify the issue I made a decision that my family needed to be kept warm instead of freezing waiting for choice home warranty to provide an authorization to have the work done.to repair the heating unit However because of the Fact that we had the heating unit repaired because our home was almost below 40 choice home warranty made the decision not to repair our system.
As stated previously we have had no claims this year with choice home warranty however at the rate we pay per year not to include what we pay out of pocket for our the actual service call cost that we must pay for a technician to even come out to determine the problem, they completely disrespected the help of my elderly disabled mother as will as myself in my husband who are US Army veteran servicemembers and completely disabled.
To all my fellow service women and service men and arms I highly recommend the That you will not do any service with this company. You will end up paying more out of pocket then for the services and the problems that you will encounter trying to have your items in your home repaired.

I would not recommend choice to anyone they are the most company serviced more than customer service their main objective is to place you in a position where they benefit from your service and your fees more than you do. Furthermore I would also say that as a disable veteran in my husband being disable veteran for a toll of 32 years this is the most disrespectful service provider I would never recommend them to my worst enemy they are the worst home warranty plan stay away from them.

I'm a 100% retired disabled veteran senior citizen, living on a fixed income. I have been a currently a loyal and faithful customer of Choice Warrenty for over 4 years. Unfortunately, the company sadly, has not treated me the same! Over 4 months ago August 2019, I submitted an appeal. Ms Nicole Heard was assigned but refused to work with me and to elevate my case to the next level and to date have never contacted me. They never even honored their Renewal promises and commitment! Their technicians never find in my favor, they recommended for years for a replacement boiler and you disagreed and never answered my appeal. I've had to cover my own repair expenses of $1000 in 2017, because I could not find a service bill. This was the entire reason why I have your company.

We called Choice Home Warranty when our furnace went out during this years' first cold spell. The tech came out and said a gas control part was out. Said he would be back the next day with the part. Called the next morning and said they no longer make the part so he was going to recommend Choice to replace the unit. Choice offered us $145 to replace a $3, 800 - $4, 500 unit. I had a local repairman to give me a bid. When he looked at unit he determined that a completely different part was the problem which he fixed. He charged me $525. Choice will not pay the repair even though their web site says"If we can't fix it we will replace ." Their only response was to cancel my paid up account without out even sending the $145 they offered. I saved them at least $3, 200 by and they still screwed me without ever offering to send out another repair person out. THINK TWICE BEFORE YOU BUY A

I filed a claim on 11-20-2019. The rep for Choice Home told me that a repairman would be calling and I would have to pay a deductible of $75.00. No problem. He diagnosed it and it wasn't getting hot. He says it was too much sulfide or something. Whatever the reason they should have told me the reason before I purchased this insurance. I feel I was decieved by them telling me I was fully covered no matter what might have went out on the water heater. I pacifically asked before I brought the insurance, the guy told me it doesn't matter I'm covered. I feel I should be fully refunded for the deception.

This is not a good company. You asked for customer services for answering the public what type of business and service they provide in details, no one can answer. And they only ask you do you buy or not. And they hang up the phone.
And the other strange and rude things is, they said they do not serve America, they are Choice Home Warranty. And then I said, I live in Phoenix, AZ but I have some happening in California which encourage me to contact them for reference on their services and they said THEY EXCLUDE CALIFORNIA THAT COUNTY IN THE WHOLE AMERICA.
I tried to cheer up myself as American, I think this company only offer staff purchasing and only accept private membership service. They are not a company, they are a CLUB.
But they upset the public and more than that they are showing to us as public company to ask for business. THESE IS ILLUSION AND misrepresentation and show discrimination on all respect of issue. I hope they change the company name and declare the nature of the business that they advertised on internet ASAP.

I've been with Choice Warranty for a few years and they treated me fairly until we signed up for the five-year agreement and then after three of the three repairs I called in will not be covered. And I asked the technicians that came and they said that other warranties would cover these things. So of course this is made me very cynical. Just don't sign up for their five-year agreement!
Also my daughter signed up for the five-year agreement and Choices' statement about if we can't fix it, we will replace it is absolutely not true! They waited for six weeks in the heat of the summer for the AC to be repaired and after three tries from the technicians they said they needed a new unit and choice refused to give them a new unit. So disappointed And would love to get all my money back.

I noticed that our fridge ceased cooling on 11/3/2019. It had been non-operational for a few days as the ice cubes had all melted and the water had run down the outside door to the floor. I contacted CHW & Alfa services in Las Vegas, NV. sent someone out on 11/4. The contractor stated a relay had gone bad. He replaced it and the fridge ran for awhile. I noticed 2 days later that it had stopped cooling again and called CHW. The next day an automated call from CHW stated that Alfa services had been sent the info for a 2nd call and that I would not need to pay a 2nd fee. After not hearing from Alfa for 2 days, I again called CHW. They stated that it was my obligation to call and schedule the repair service...WHY, what am I paying you for? They called Alfa and a 2nd repairman was sent out on 11/12. After examination, he stated that the condensor had gone out. He would need to wait to hear from CHW on wait they wanted to do. After another 2 days of no info, I again called CHW to find out what was going on. I was informed that an email had been sent to me explaining that they would not cover repairs due to improper maintenance (dirty coil & condensor). I maintain my equipment yearly and there was minimal build-up. As I expressed this to Kevin, our CHW person put in charge of my situation, he stated that he would need to contact Alfa to confirm. Kevin called me today and stated that they would NOT cover due to the previous reason of improper maintenance. He stated that the contractor sent photos of my equipmentconfirming improper maintenance. I requested a copy of the photos and was told that thier system is proprietary and does not allow to send out photos...WAIT, then how did you send me an email as you earlier stated? BTW, I never gave them my email info to begin with, so lies on lies, on lies! We are in year 2 of a 2 year service contract and they will NOT be keeping us as clients beyond that! Hmmm, should CHW fix/replace our fridge and incur a fee that exceeds our contract value paid up front or just deny the claim? Caveat Emptor!

A technician came out last weekend and determined that there is a leak in my refrigerant lines somewhere, and that some of my ductwork has separated and is in need of repair. Today I called Choice Home Warranty, to find out why the tech has not returned to fix these issues, and I was told that they DO NOT cover the problems at hand. I would appreciate an explanation from someone, why these issues are not going to be addressed. I just purchased this home in July and purchased this Home Warranty, for this very reason! Please respond quickly as it has turned very cold now with a system in need of repairs badly. Thank You

We performed several repairs to CHW and never got paid .
It's been 3 months since invoice was sent and nothing from them - they tried to have us sign the same bogus release form and keep misleading us.
At first they said that we have to wait 30 days since invoice submitted. They they said a year . Than they came up with another 30 days, than another week and it just keeps going.
Is there a way to make justice here ?
I believe all the employees there including the owner should pay heavily from their own income and savings because they are part of this scam .
This is the only way something like that will never happen again .
They lie and scam customers and vendors .
Not sure how NJ consumer affairs allowed this 3 infamous scammers : victor hakim, victor mandalwai to start the same business under a different name since they got fought in 2009 for the same scam they ran.

I have contacted Choice many many times about my water heater. I've had two companies to recommend replacement but when I call to ask for the status I'm told that another technician would be sent out, but the majority of the last companies refuse to work with them because of nonpayment. I've never worked with a home warranty company before this one, but after reading these comments I don't think I ever will again. Being on a fixed income, I can't afford to be scammed. At first all seemed well, and I thought I had good rapor with the company but no longer. I'm totally disappointed in Choice at this time, but I don't blame any of the agents who are forced to lie and to stretch out time before sending you a "denial" for replacement of a unit.

refrigerator repair
I own a GE Monogram Series Counter-Depth Refrigerator. It has stopped operating properly since June 29th 2019 and to this day, November 5th 2019 it has not been repaired.
It has been a trial and error process that has resulted in significant monetary loss of damaged comestibles which I have had to throw away, and expenditures in restaurants and home deliveries.
On 6/29 L&M Supply diagnosed a defrosting motor problem. On 7/16 on technician came to replace motor, he left saying it was a 2 man job. Next day, on 7/17, motor replaced and coil cleaned. On 7/24 reported refrigerator still not holding temperature. On 7/25 a second defrosting fan motor was replaced. On 8/12 I reported to L&M Supply freezer not making ice, and then on 8/16 reported refrigerator was not holding temperature and temperatures were at 21F and 50F for freezer and refrigerator sections, respectively. On 8/19 L&M Supply came to diagnose problem and concluded it was a bad control panel. It took 5 days to receive approval from CHW for the replacement part (!). I called on 8/27 and L&M Supply (LMS) still had not ordered the part. On 9/3 the control panel was replaced. On 9/5 called to report noise coming from refrigerator and also to indicate refrigerator was still not holding temperature at set point.
I called CHW again on 9/12 to state I could not no longer get a hold of LMS technicians with the information they had provided. CHW stated they would send a new technician as they recognized L&M Supply seemed to not be qualified. Apparently, the LMS technician had quit his job, perhaps due to incompetence (?). A new techcian was assigned from Express Tech (ET) and a visit scheduled for 9/17. ET diagnosed a bad "thermostat" and a plugged line that needed to be steamed. Express Tech was scheduled a return on 9/26 to replace thermostat and steam drain line. Fridge worked for a few days but temperature started to drift up (I presume as ice would build up and defrosting system could not keep up). On 10/17 it was no longer holding temperature and was at 23F and 49F in freezer and refrigerator, respectively. Called Express Tech technician again who arrived at 3:30 pm. He checked and replaced connectors in heating coil in the defrosting-system water collection pan and checked drain line for obstruction. He confirmed the heating coil was operating. When I returned from vacation from out of state the refrigerator temperature has drifted up again, and today on November 5th it is 20F and 45F again in freezer and refrigerator. I am at my wit's end and my patience is starting to crack!
There seems to be no accountability on the part of CHW and no desire to repair my refrigerator. How long can this go on? I am willing to accept the mediation settlement of the contract of $1, 500.00 so I can buy a new refrigerator. Restaurant meals are costing me a fortune.
cancelation of my choice home warranty policy
I purchased my policy 5 months ago for 1750 which was supposed to cover my home for 5 years. During this 5 month period choice home warranty was supposed to fix my microwave. I waited 3 months for parts they said where on back order inorder to fix my microwave. I also had multiple scheduled appointments to have my heating system fix in which they never showed up. The one time the technician did show up he said I needed a new thermostat and would return the following week. Choice home warranty company sent me an email with a follow up appointment but again technician never showed up. At this point I was so dissatisfied that I cancelled my policy. Home home warranty service only was willing to refund me back $800 of the $1750 I paid for the policy 5 months ago. They claim the difference was for repairs but they never did provide me with $950 worth of services. I had to repair done by a technician through this company. 1 was to replace toilet bowl flap inside toilet bowl tank and the other was to remove debris from the washing machine drain. Each of which I paid an additional $60 out of pocket cost for each of those service calls. Choice home warranty company says they deducted over $950 for those 2 service calls because they paid those technicians $450 plumber and $300 to the washing machine repair quy. $50 cancelation fee and 150 for the 5 months I've had the policy which is Ludacris.
unresponsive, did not honor their word
Just bought a home in North Carolina with a Choice Home Warranty. The three year old Samsung microwave in the home quite working after only a few weeks. FIled a claim, a CHW technician came out and said the magnetron was bad but that since it is under SAMSUNG warranty he could not order it. He said I the owner had to order it direct. Samsung only authorizes their approved technician to install it so I had to pay additional service fees and then when they replaced the magnetron and it still did not work. In all this I kept Choice Home Warranty informed via their website and just got automated replies. Then they would not pay the "authorized repair" bills. Worthless and run by folks who are apparently not in USA. Difficult to understand, unresponsive and a bunch of liars in my opinion. Don't recommend Choice Home Warranty to anyone.

It is still 90 degrees in Florida and my 17 year old a/c unit cannot keep my house cool. It froze up last week, causing water dripping from the drain pipe in our garage ceiling. I had my a/c company out first on 10/23/2019. They said the coil is dirty, but too decrepit to clean. They also stated that the entire system will fail at any time and needs to be replaced. I then contacted Choice and had their contracted a/c company come out on 10/25/2019. They stated that the coil was too rusted to clean and needs to be replaced. They also stated that the coil for this older unit is no longer available. They also recommended complete replacement of the system, and notified Choice of such. Choice is refusing to cover this because of some obscure clause in their contract th t says they will not repair or replace appliances that are failing due to rust. Ths is Florida. EVERYTHING rusts in Florida humidity.ds So I have essentialy wasted my money paying for this coverage because they are going to lok for rust and deny my claim on everything. DO NOT WASTE your money with this company! I want them to pay for replacing my a/c system, or to refund my money if I end up having to pay for it myself. Among previous claims they have refused to pay was a new valve for the water system in my refrigerator and the condensation pump in my a/c unit.

It is winter in wisconsin, the end of october. My furnace has quit working. I called on thursday morning to report a claim to choice home warranty. It is now friday night. After calls to the main number I have been told they don't know who, if anyone, has been called in our area about servicing our furnace. There are four main companies for heating in our area... Have they called any of them? They don't seem in any hurry to help us since it is winter and we have no furnace in our home. After we purchased the warranty (after weeks of daily, multiple phone calls asking us to buy... They even kept calling us after we had purchased a plan) we discovered that they are not a reliable company. My son, who owns his own electrical business as a master electrician, has worked for them and never been paid. After months of argument he has finally given up. How can they expect to get people to work for them if they won't pay their workers. I know my son never will work for them again. Is this the same with heat/furnace contractors in our area? Is this why we haven't had anyone look at our furnace yet...in winter when it is cold?

We put in two separate claims on two different occasions on our refrigerator and both times they refused coverage because one, the pre approved claim was denied so we paid the service fee for nothing! We put in another claim because now the refrigerator stopped working all together! We produced receipts showing that repairs had been successfully completed and that this was a new claim but it was denied because the repairman Choice sent out said the prior repairman did a faulty job and so it's once again not covered and we paid the service call fee for nothing again! Oh! And they took forever to send someone out so we inconvenienced for over three weeks! I think it's a scam! Stay away from this company!

I renewed my contract in June 2019 and this time i was offered that if i pay for 3 years they will give me special deals.
7 months free coverage. I expected and paid.
In August my house has water leak called Choice they sent technician this guy told me in advance before he finished diagnosis. These companies don't pay most of the time. He made an offer by saying Sir if they don't pay for your claim let me know i will do the job you pay me directly.
In process of diagnosis he broke my Bedroom wall.
Sure enough Choice declined claim by saying this leaked is not covered as diagnosis.
Well i called out side company and diagnosis was totally different so i got that don by my self.
October 5th hot water heater go's out called Choice tech comes i pay service fee he ignited water heater and left. Next day same thing happened again i called Choice same guy comes and this time diagnosis that water heater tank is leaking in.
Sir call me if they don't cover your water heater he said.
Sure enough Choice declined my claim.
Finally this time i called to cancel this coverage and they cancelled the coverage but didn't return my money of 2 years and 8 months of premium.
I have paid $1050 for 3 years.
They returning $218 Out of $1050 results of canceling fee bla bla bla.
I got so angry that don't wanted to stay on phone with these people.
Please be careful with this Company I'm convinced that they will not pay any big claim. Most of claim you pay service fee any way.

I agreed to a 5-year home warranty plan on my home and on my vacation condo totaling $4, 200 ($2, 100 for each policy). I paid by credit card. Within 3 days, I called to cancel both policies and was told I would receive a refund within 30 days. I followed up exactly 30 days later. I was told that checks were sent; however, they were mailed to my vacation condo, 4 hours away. I asked if the checks could be canceled and my credit card credited or checks be reissued. I was told it could take 90 days to process my request and that I would be charged $30 cancellation fee for each check. Mailing the checks to the wrong address is not my error, so charging me to cancel the checks is wrong in so many ways. Why wouldn't Choice simply credit the credit card? My credit card bill is due in 10 days, but I'm on the hook to pay my bill or incur interest and late fees. I don't recommend working with Choice when their business practices are so antiquated. It appears they only want to keep as much of your money as they possibly can.
