service
At Coles at 5:30 / 6pm on Thursday night to do weekly shopping with my children and was very disappointed in the service.
Not one register was open, after parking at one I walked around trying to find a worker without any luck. After about 5 mins I lined up at 12 items, trying to get the attention of the service lady, she had her head down and no clue as to all the people lined with full trolleys. The girl at self serve stood staring at the crowd but didn't do anything.
There was about 5 people at the smoke counter and about 5 full trolleys lined up. One other bloke grabbed someone from produce who disappeared to get someone. About 5 mins later, and still no acknowledgement from the service lady, so I unloaded my shopping at 12 items. She was so rude in serving me, she didn't even attempt to pack my bags and just stacked my shopping on the counter, I couldn't pack the bags fast enough so everything just got thrown in. On top of that I was made to feel like a dick for taking a full trolley through 12 items. By the time I got served another register had opened so the others waiting moved over. What was worse was a disabled gentleman was stuck behind me. I felt horrible as he was making comments about me using 12 items. The service lady was Kerry and needs a lesson in awareness if in that position. Pick up your game Coles!
assaulted and disrespect by wilson security and store duty manager zac
I was assulted by Wilson security for filming an altercation and Zachary also assulted my female friend by blocking her path as she was walking away Zachary also was rude disrespectful unhelpful and when asked for an avenue to complain about he's conduct I was told I can complain to him as he's the manger and he's made up false and misleading lies I was fortunate enough to have the smarts to record the event that lead me to be assulted by Wilson security officer as this would not look good for coles or Wilson security I ask for a response from coles and investigate why I was assulted and my phone damaged for simply filming an unfolding dispute I'm also recovering for an assault with required plastic surgery to my eye socket and jaw after been hit with a hammer leaving me with multiple fractures and arm injuries and Wilson security assaulted me affecting my recovery and leaving my Samsung mobile phone damage trying to stop my right to film evidence case reference number C104549860 and Wilson security investigation officer [protected] Shane. staff member
7/8/19- Register 008 Time 3.21 pm I went into do shopping this afternoon at Coles South Grafton I got my groceries then proceeded to Tobacco Counter the person name on served by was Mitchell it wasn't him it was a young girl before I could open my mouth and ask for docket she screwed it up, when I got it out I wanted it she said very rudely sorry I'm really busy I said you didn't even ask me whether I wanted it. There was another lady at counter which said to me you go first and I said it's fine but she insisted so I did, I thought to myself she looks very familiar and then realised later I have seen her work in there as well she is tiny with sandy blonde hair and nose ring she was also giving me rude looks inside and as I walked outside. I'm sorry but I was nice to the girl that served me but when she was so rude as I said above she didn't give me a chance to say I wanted it, the other lady was waiting to get money back because she was short changed her and she said to young girl she needed to look at docket which she didn't have in her hand so girl had to look and she was praising her up how great she's been etc come on praising rudeness when the lady was a possible staff member herself. After reading other complaints on here it seems to happen often.
price of tobacco pouch
Hi Coles
In the last month I have on 2 occasions purchased a 25-gram pouch of Choice Rich Gold RYO tobacco. The price was a shock at $42.50 per pouch. Prior to these occasions I paid $36 - $37. I was outraged at what amounts to a price hike of over $5!
For reference, I purchased the same product from WW this morning for $37.50
Could you please explain this blatant profiteering?
tobacco
I was at the tobacco counter on the 7/8/19 at approximately 2pm. I asked the girl at the desk for a packet of Deal Blue 40g tobacco. She said they didn't sell this tobacco. I replied by telling her I have bought several packets of this tobacco at this store recently. She said that I must've bought them elsewhere because she orders the cigarettes so she would know. I replied by telling her I was not retarded and had definitely bought this product at this store. She was quite rude and condescending to me. I left the store and went to another nearby Coles to buy my cigarettes. This woman has no customer service skills whatsoever.
tin diced tomato
Hi Coles,
I am wriitng you this regarding a product that I bought it from coles. The name of the product is Diced Italia tomatoes-coles.
I was putting the tomato on curry, suddenly i found something is inside the tomato can, which doesn't look like tomato. It looks like a thick round substance, similar to paper or something. I put my half of the paste already on the tin tomato. This is very disgusting. I had bought the product for so long from coles, now my believe on product has vanished.
Please look at the photos that I have pasted. This thing should be stopped. Please investigate on the tin of tomatoes that you guys are selling.

your employees accusations and customer service
I had completed a shop at your Casula Mall supermarket and was in the process of using the self-serve to checkout when I needed assistance from the female employee on duty as my Lindor Chocolate bar had not been recognised after scanning. I had already scanned a few items through which I had place back into my trolley, as there is limited room at the checkout and I had further items to scan through which, I was unable to do due to the Lindor bar not being recognised. This employee came over and could see what was happening and prior to doing anything she canvassed my trolley and asked me to explain to her which items had been scanned and which had not, insinuating that I was going to be stealing/shoplifting the further products in my trolley. Now, I took great offence at this and I expressed this to her, I also said that I was having a very bad day and she should leave me alone. to which she said ' well, don't take it out on me' to which I said don't accuse my of stealing. I then turned back to continue processing my items to see she had done nothing to correct what I needed assistance with?! I turned to her and said you have not done anything it is still the same and she just said that's right and walked away. I was absolutely fuming at this and tokk my 8 month old daughter in my arms and my 3.5 year old son and pushed the trolley in her to direction telling her she could fXXk off and I would shop at Woolworths. I think she sad that's good and you have a nice day and an extremely smug/smart alec manner to which I then turned around and said I would be having a great day as I would not have to deal with any more people like you. I then walked off and decide to go back to which another staff member asked me what happened and I asked her for the girls name as I would be complaining and she believed it was Natasha. I shop regularly at Coles Casula, I would say most days I am there for one thing or another and I know some of the staff very well. I have never been accused of such things and I have never been so insulted. If I had processed all of the items in my trolleys and upon walking out the door I was asked to show my receipt as proof of what I had purchased in my trolley then that would have been fair enough but, to have looked in my trolley mid checkout when I was trying to control my 3.5 years old son who was trying to take items out of the trolley and playing with the eftpos machine etc and also I had my 8 month old daughter in the trolley seat to keep n eye on also, the last thing I needed was to have some smart arse Coles employee dong what she did. Is this how you encourage you people in your employment during the induction process to treat you valued customers. Woolworths Supermarket is equal distance from my home and from mow on they will be reaping the satisfaction of my business as I am absolutely disgusted at the treatment I received today. Just to note also, the items I was purchasing were things like discounted sanitary pads, soft drinks, tim tams, ice- creams, piksters, cornflakes, tissues etc...items of such immense value that it had me hooking up to the fastest Wi-Fi connection to out them up on EBAY! I mean this sorry episode was absolutely ridiculous and completely uncalled for and unnecessary and I believe that this member of staff need to have further training provided and the true meaning of what customer service is and how it should be performed needs to be explained and shown to her in detail.
service
I done shopping at Coles today and came at counter to make payment. It was $26.01. Before making any payment to told to cashier to hold stuff as I forgot something. I like to make it $30 to collect toy. She said to pay for this first and again come back after you done shopping. So then I got two drink bottles for $4.40. Now I asked her for Coles toy. But she refused to give me as said it's not done on same receipt. But then I told her before you advice me to pay for previous stuff and buy new after that.
Come on guys. It's just a toy. I have done $30 shopping but still didn't get toy as will make my kids happy.

bread & nuts/sweets
Hi
I just like to make a complaint that in North Rocks Coles Sydney the fresh bread they bake are left with out a bag on the self. I see many people holding the bread and it is so unhygienic. Please ask them to bag these bread prior to putting them on the shelf.
Also the loose nuts/sweets people have access to put their hands to grab some nuts or sweets.
Please cover such areas and be more hygienic. These days most people have many diseases plus don't wash their hands.

dairy department
I purchased two packets of Nestle Mousse from your Bacchus Marsh store this evening 30.7.19 at 17.53hrs. This item was purchased to take to my sons for my grandchildren for dessert. When my 3 year old grand daughter started to rip the top of the tub I noticed the date, it had a use by date of 6.7.19. How lucky were we, that I was sitting beside her and she didn't eat it. It is quite obvious to me that your dairy manager is not rotating his stock. One could understand if an item was one week out of date but three weeks is totally unacceptable. I returned the goods with labelling to the Bacchus Marsh store at approx 20:00hrs and spoke to Sharlene at the Kiosk who then got the night Manager Michael who was very apologetic, but make no attempt to take my details but took a photo of the goods and then instructed Sharlene to give me a refund. I would appreciate it if someone could contact me tomorrow on [protected]. I will also be contacting Nestle tomorrow to inform them of same.

Be careful when buying gift cards as staff dont know correct information about items.
Got $100.00 worth to only find out we could not use them for gold class. The staff member when we went to buy them told us that movie gift card was the same as gold class, The store had no gold glass gift cards. we asked the staff if they were sure this card could be used and reply was yes. call customer services to find out what we could do was told they send a email to store and take the cards back and speak to manager.
When to store to be told by staff member Linda quite rude and loud that they can and she doesn't see what the problem was. Linda said l will hand ball you to the Manager Robert we explained about the cards he called Belinda over she replied we do not return cards and there is nothing we can do to help. There was a total lack of care and customer services from Manager and the other 2 staff members. Sent a email to customer services about this matter reply is you can use the cards at drive Inn or 1 movie cinema and a regional manager will contact you. sunrice australian brown 5kg
Dear Sir/Madam,
I have approach a staff at the self serve area on Friday 26 July 2019 at around 2.30pm to request a raincheck for 3 bags of Sunrise Australian Brown 5kg, which was on special, listed in your supplement catalog on half price at $8 (was $16) but the item was not on the shelf, there is only 1 bag of Medium Grain behind the yellow special label (also half price).
I requested the sales lady at the self serve area to check the availability then she check the catalogue and found it was listed there which she then suggest that she will prepare a raincheck ready for pickup on my payment of other goods I bought from the store. It was fine with that, and this is where the problem started, I had decided to buy 3 bags of the sale item on special. When I requested for 3 bags of the item which I was after. It was the supervisor who attended to my request but I was told that there is a limit of 2 bags for the product I was after. I then requested for a rain check .
I found this very unreasonable and at this point told her that I was able to get more than 3 units from my previous raincheck request. I got the raincheck but the whole experience was stressful and unpleasant. I feel that the Sales Staff whom the customer has to contact with inquiry needs to be informed and very clear about the store policy on rain checks. As a customer, if an item is on specials with yellow label says half price and there is no stock then, I can request for a rain check.
I did not like the interaction. As a regular shopper I see these staff very often.
I hope this problem be resolved. I have noted this incident on record and should prompt you to streamline your policy on rain checks.
Sincerely,
Derfarac
salami
Why has the hot sliced salami in your deli increased $4.00 per kilo in the Ipswich Qld store that I shop at?
This increase is ridiculous..$30.00 per kilo when I can buy ham for $17-24.00 per kilo.
Also I did ring and complain regarding the size of your LARGE Tiger Prawns and was fobbed off by a male who could not have cared less. No name or contact number was required he said.
For $27.00 per Kilo these prawns were small to medium at best. These were bought for me as a Thank You from a family member as I love prawns.Once peeled and deveined some were no more than 3-4cms.
You might like to check the size of LARGE PRAWNS from Woolworths or other outlets..
Does anyone in your company check the size of the prawns that are labelled LARGE from your suppliers or do your people decide what size they are?..
The Large label is definitely False advertising and even your staff know it.

staff member complaint - frasier
STAFF COMPLAINT - 25/07/2019. I am writing this complaint about one of your staff members.. Frasier (from Coles, Forster NSW 2428). I have had the flu for several weeks and haven't been able to finish this complaint until now. Several weeks ago Frasier was working in the fruit and vegetable section of Coles when I walked up and simply asked him if there were any red capsicums. At first I thought he didn't hear me, then he looked at me for few seconds giving me this long frustrated look, he then pointed (without saying anything) to the area that I just came from. I told Frasier that I already looked and that there were no red capsicums. Frasier, looking very annoyed with me for disturbing him, threw the oranges he was packing on the shelf back on a big metal trolly, proceeded to marched past me with a very cranky and frustrated look on his face, only to find that upon arriving to the area, I was right... there were no red caps left. The box was empty. He looked at me and said "we obviously have none then". He walked past me, back to where he was working. Confused and a little annoyed by his behaviour, I walked back up to Frasier and asked if there were any red capsicums out the back that could be brought out. Frasier threw the fruit he had in his hands back down, while letting out a frustrated sigh. I asked him ‘what his problem was' and he stared at me again for a few seconds and said that he didn't have a problem. I said "I'm sorry if I'm inconveniencing you mate, but this is your job isn't it?". Frasier stormed out without saying anything, toward the plastic doors near the meat fridge and milk fridge. I waited about 8 or 9 minutes and Frasier didn't return. I eventually walked away frustrated and continued shopping. About 10 minutes later, before I headed to the checkout, I checked to see if Frasier had returned and if there were any capsicums, neither Frasier or the red capsicums were present, so I paid for my groceries and left.
I found Frasier to be extremely rude with very poor communication and customer service skills. He just seemed to have extremely poor people skills and a rotten attitude to match.
I also found (and I am a little embarrassed to say this) that Frasier's personal hygiene left a lot to be desired. This may be a little too personal, but I really think its worth mentioning.. Frasier really did noticeably stink. He walked past me twice in my dealings with him on this day and he smelled like he hadn't washed in days. That not only concerns me because it is unprofessional and I don't want to be forced to smell a person who stinks, but it really disturbs me because it is so unhygienic! Frasier's handles fruits and vegetables that are being sold to the public, all while his personal hygiene is so poor that he is giving off noticeable foul odors. If his personal hygiene is so poor that that is happening, one could almost guarantee that his had washing practices must be very poor as well.
I have decided to buy my fruit and vegetables elsewhere because of this and I have told my family and friends about this encounter. My sister-in-law even knew of who I was talking about when I told her.
I don't know Frasier, this is my first (and hopefully last) encounter with him. I think he needs to be re-trained in how to treat customers with dignity and respect. And I think he needs to be spoken to about his poor personal hygiene. My whole experience on this day was very disappointing.
Anyway, that is all I have say about this incident.
Regards, Dean Scott.

little shop 2
Little Shop 2 once again shows that big companies like you do not care about future generations at all. How about coming up with wooden items without plastic wrapping for kids to lure parents into buying more. At least that way you show that you actually give a s**t about this planet and not just how much money you make.
And it would be great if you could try and reduce the plastic wrappers around fruit and veg as well. Why on earth do three capsicums have to look like a traffic light?! Celery cut into sticks and put in plastic? Every household has a knife and is capable to cut it up as needed.
Of course people are going to be complaining if they can't buy their cut up celery. But you know what? That's human nature. We whine about change until we have adjusted.
Be better than that. Show that you actually care.
Regards,
Kirstin

checkout operator
I was served by a woman named Angela, at 17:59 on the 23/07/2019, at the Tea Gardens Coles. I was purchasing a few groceries and some nappies which totalled $101.13.
I was so disappointed and upset by the terrible customer service I experienced by this Coles employee.
One of my cards were declined during checkout. I was mentally calculating the funds in my account and accidentally put the incorrect pin in twice for my other card. Angela scowled at me and said "Well I'll Be keeping these here", referring to my groceries. She put my shopping onto the floor. She implied that I was going to take the shopping without paying.
Angela was rude and impatient when my card declined, and she made me feel bad and embarrassed when she implied I would take my shopping without paying. There was only one other lady behind me in the line and she went to another checkout which became free during this time, so my card declining was not holding up any other customers. Not that that would excuse her behaviour.
I have worked in customer service for 20 years and have been employed as a first responder for over 10 years. I have encountered countless rude and disrespectful members of the community throughout my career and have never treated them with the same disrespect in return. That's what customer service and dealing with the public entails.
Angela's customer service was terrible. We live in a small, friendly community and usually experience excellent customer service from the checkout operators at this store. Angela clearly needs further training and experience.
music to load in shop
On shopping at the Coles store in Goulburn the music on the coles radio system was very load making shopping very unplesant in the evening at about 19.00- on asking the Manger on duty I was told that she could not turn the music down - the communcation skills of ths manager was rude and abrupt not willing to listern to the customer - she satted she could not turn the music down in the shop - I have very sensitive hearing the music was hurting my ears and hearing that nothing could be done at a local level was a very poor response. Will not be returning to Coles Goulburn store until the music is turned down.
