My sister had sogned up for crunch with out me knowing about it! She had all my information knowing I was out of a job and had no money. She is nine years older than me how could you not tell the difference between us! Anyways, to make it worse you didnt send a bill and I had to find out you were charging my account $300 + when "i" have only been signed up for about 2 months. Which makes no sense and you need to fix it so I can cancel "my" membership. Youre employees should be smarter next time!
privacy/showers
Good afternoon,
I am terribly upset at my experience at crunch fitness. The gym's address is 3854 belt line rd, addison, tx 75001. I went in today around one o'clock on 07/20/2017. I told the employee up front that I was interested in increasing my membership so that I could take the classes. I decided that I was going to start going to the morning classes before work and get ready for work at the gym. I went into the locker room to see what all I would need to make this happen. Ie (a lock for the locker, a blow dryer for my hair etc.) I went over to the showers and discovered that the shower curtains were very short in width. I imagined myself showering in the morning and that I don't want people watching me shower. It made me uncomfortable so I decided to address my concern with the employee at the front desk. He listened and then called over the owner of the gym to tell him my concern. Before telling him my concern, the employee mentioned that I had not been to the gym in over 100 days. (it's true but I have paid for every month and my balance with the gym is current. Why would it matter if I go there every day or I am just coming back?.. I felt judged and it made me feel guilty.) the first thing the owner said was "I am not ordering customized shower curtains." then he said., "i'll check but I am not ordering customized shower curtains." he informed me that people take showers every day there and that i'm the only one who has every mentioned it. (this comment made me feel like crap because in my mind he was saying that my concern was not legitimate.) privacy is a major concern for women and men. You never know when someone has been a victim of sexual violence or if that person has been violated in some way. I don't think I should feel ashamed because I don't want to be seen nude in the shower. I am disgusted and feel almost violated due to his dismissal of my concern. I am requesting that new shower curtains are placed in the women's locker room. I honestly just want to be able to increase my membership so that I can take the morning classes, shower there and go about my day. Please help!
crunch fitness
I was told I owed over $100 worth of fees when I was previously told I was going to be billed automatically from my bank account. If i'm billed automatically from my account and it isn't charging me they should have let me know as it was happening, not five months later when I have a heap of late fees and dues when I was under the impression that they were paid off. I'm a student and it's a lot easier for me to pay $20 a month rather than over $100 right now. I can't afford this and I don't know how i'm going to pay for it when I have college bills coming up that are priority.
membership/customer support
Called this morning as I am traveling abroad to cancel my membership. I called stratford ct to speak to a manager about cancellation. I was explained the policy and I asked if there was any way I could cancel via telephone. I was met with passive aggressive comments such as "I should have cancelled before I left" and "i'm out of luck". Super dissapointing to be treated like that. I've been a member for a few years now and at the very least I feel like I should be met with polite courtesy. There has been a bunch of gyms in my area sprouted up in the past few years and I stood by crunch and got family members to join. I will have 2 days back in the states which i'll be sure to cancel my memebership. Im just really disappointed in crunch and have no means of expressing myself beyond social media (which I don't do) I understand I can write a letter but was hoping for an exception and at the very least some courtesy when I call the gym and talk to a manger.
employee, class policy
Michelle needs to be trained on customer service and on how to teach classes. Her 1-2 steps are not zumba, really ridiculous and she cannot even keep up. Please leave training to trainers. All real trainers (lourdes, jonathan, iris, angelica, grace, mercedes & denise) are really good though and amazing fitness instructors. Which is why even thought there class schedules are hard to follow with a normal work schedule, I would have stayed a long standing faithful member. But when that was taken away by michelle and having to deal with her "I do as I want attitude" and rudeness it was not worth the stress or aggravation. Members usually go in at whatever times (without the ticket) and their own employees go in and out of classes halfway through or towards the end session. Today I was 15 min late, waited over 5 minutes to clock in and when I tried to actually follow policies and get a ticket, michelle didn't allow me saying I was over 10 minutes late. Yet I don't say nothing when she ignores me standing in front of her for over 5-10 minutes, for her to stop her personal texts to actually check me in. To top it all off, she has the nerve to say why didn't u tell me to get off the phone, as if I am supposed to her job for her. I work out after work, I work out to get peace, de-stress and not have to deal with the bs, so I strongly suggest while she is employed here, do not go here.
Mind you I am not sure if they really are or not suppose to let you in class late but their own employees do it and no one else in the front stops you from going to the classes that might I add you pay xtra for. Learned my lesson going to la where there are more classes, its open later, kids care is cheaper, same price I am paying at crunch and they have multiple yoga and zumba classes per day everyday, among plenty of options from belly dance, to hip hop and all crunch have + lots and lots more.
personal training charge
Hi my name is linda... And back in the beginning of the year.. I signed a contract with personal trainer austin.. A few weeks later, austin quit unexpectedly. I got a call from another personal trainer saying that he would like to continue with. And I replied that I don't think I want to continue week we got disconnected... I guess they tried to contact me and text me but I work nights so I forgot to call him back... So I thought they cancel the training. I even received emails and a call that my card was declined for the membership. I didn't receive a call or email saying I owed for trainings that I didn't even do... I have never met with the other and yet on wednesday june 14.. I got a charge on my check of 550 dollars. That's my car payment which was do that day. I am a single mother of two boys... I cannot afford 550 dollars to give. I need my money back. I spoke to bob who is responsible for the training at tampa palms and he told me that he can't help me that I didn't cancel even though I didn't train with anyone. I have to make my car payment... I need my money back. I spoke with justin and he told me that he will reach out to bob so he can call me. I am still waiting on a call back.

06.11.17 crunch facility at the parkland, fl 33067
I went yesterday (sunday afternoon) to register my daughter to join the gym and this girl very rude her name is cary. She told us that in order to join the gym my daughter must be with a parent, mean while there's two girls under 15 years old exercising by them self with no parents around. The gym was almost empty and those girls are friends of my daughters. I ask why those girls can be there and my daughter same age don't! She answer to me that is not my problem and she do what ever she want!
I though crunch has on policy I don't understand why employees do what ever they want and are so disrespectful with new clients.
Very disappointed of this facility.

Hello,
I was really really excited to see that a new gym opened near my home.
I walked into the gym to find out more information, I wasn't greeted at the door, like other gyms I have attended before. No other customers were at the desk. I asked about the membership, and asked if I could see a list of the classes available, (because it's one of my favorite features of a gym and wanted to see if the hours fit my work schedule).
After finally being attended to, I asked if there was a class list or schedule I could have, a female employee answered with, "we don't really have any". Eventually, one of her male coworkers picked up a copy of the class schedule, and handed it to her, the female employee gave it to me, and walked away. Keep in mind, I wasn't offered a tour, a proper greeting, a trial, or any behavior that I have always received from other gyms that made me feel welcome or wanted as a member. It seems like she couldn't care less if I joined or not. I had to ask all essential questions myself to get her to give me information. To make it worse, I had all my questions answered bluntly, and she immediately disengaged from the conversation upon every question I had.
Before I left, I told her that I just had one more question, she turned around and rolled her eyes at me, before putting on a fake smile and walking over to me. I was so shocked by this behavior, I have never been treated like this before in any professional establishment, let alone a gym, where you expect to be treated with the up-most enthusiasm and friendliness for a potential customer.
I write this complaint, not only for my self, but the for the sake of others. I don't want other customers to be treated the way I was, it's bad for the business, and it's bad for the people. I wish I could have gotten the employee's name, but the best I have is the time-frame and the description as follows:
- young
-female
- fair skinned
- blonde/brunette hair
- thin
I just want to add that I am still interested in joining, but have been put off because of this experience. I'm not entirely sure what steps need to be taken for this to be resolved, but trust that proper action will be taken.
Thank you for your time! :)
service
Been a member at crunch the hub for about three months now. Today, december 26th, 2016 the gym aside from opening very late, there is also no one to help me with my bill at the front desk. I ask where is the manager, and why is no one able to help me and their response is that one: they don't know. And two: there is no manager available. At this point, I am very frustrated. The gym was supposed to open @8am, around 8:15am not only is it closed still, but like I said, there is also no one to help me whatsoever. It seems as if those who are there - I think they are the trainers - don't even know what is going on. I feel sorry for them. Cancelling my membership as soon as a membership advisor or the so called manager walks in.
membership cancellation policy
Members need to beware of the little nasty tricks that crunch gym in sarasota has for canceling a membership with them. Back in february of this year my credit card was compromised after it was billed at crunch gym. Once I was notified of this I called to cancel membership. I thought it was done when 2 months later I was getting harassed from their billing company abc financial that I was now 2 months behind. Keep in mind that I have not stepped foot in this gym for 6 months at this point. I called the gym and now they tell me that I must come in person and sign a paper stating that I am no longer renewing membership. I had no idea this was their policy (you should be asking yourself why they have such a stringent policy in effect?) and I told them I could not come in due to work travel. So I e-mailed the general manager telling them of the situation and I thought at this point I was done right? Wrong!
Today I receive another harassing call from abc financial telling me I owe them 30 dollars in membership dues. So I called them and they would not help me, they refused to stop calling me and said I would be placed in collections if I did not pay them! Wow! Is crunch gym of sarasota that desperate for money that they won't let you pout of your contract? Why does crunch have these policies in affect, if a member wants to quit, why make it so difficult for them? So today I also went in person to crunch gym on bee ridge road and asked to speak to a manager about this.
The first manager did not want to deal with me so he passed me off to the general manager, a young male. Well this # refused to see what I was telling him. Not only did he fail to resolve my dispute, he also refused to give me the paperwork to officially sign off on non renewal! Ok folks what does this tell you about the attitude of crunch gym? Why is the general manager willing to fight me over a lousy 20.00? Is it worth 20 dollars to have me complaining on a complaint board? Is it worth me filing more complaints with the better business bureau over 20 dollars? I guess according to this young punk who is manager it is, well son so be it! I will file complaints with the bbb, angies list, every internet complaint board I can find and then some.
So my warning to the rest of you is buyer beware of gym contracts! You think you are canceling membership but nope, you have to go thru all these hoops in order to do so. So in conclusion crunch gym is refusing to cancel my membership, they are refusing to address the problem and im guessing I will continue to be billed for a membership I could not cancel, even in person! What a bunch of crooks they are. What an immature general manager who obviously has zero managing skills too boot.
The correct thing to do was to say im so sorry for the inconvenience mr leddy, I will personally take care of this situation for you, and if you care to join us again, please do so.
Hopefully this punk # child will learn his lesson, don't mess with old people!

increasing rate every year
I have been a member (member id is s231149) since gold gym in years back. At that time I had paid the registration fee, and monthly rate was $19.99. That rate should be life time and should be honored by crunch for previous gym contract. But, since crunch took over, they are increasing rate every year, and now my rate is over $40.in the beginning, it was $2-$4. I don't know how high they want to increase for. The reasons for rate increase were the addition of over $4mm in new, state of the art equipment and facility upgrades throughout their gyms and the addition of over brand new locations throughout the united states. For me, I usually go one location at san mateo crunch in california and nothing to do with me. This year they increased $6.50 again. I don't like that idea for increasing every year, that's why I set the rate at that time with gold gym. I want to adjust my rate for set.
gym membership
In october, I cancelled my gym membership with crunch since I was moving to an area where the nearest crunch was not convenient at all. At the same time, there was fraud on my card and I was sent a replacement. To my surprise, I get an email in december, saying there was an error with my billing information. I thought it was a wrongfully sent email, and ignored it. I log into my bank account this morning, and they have debited a total of $78.90. For what?!?! I'm not sure. I have emailed and called and left messages and am awaiting a reply still. I want answers!

I was a faithful member of this gym for over a year, even began paying for the personal training session (which were costly) but up until january this year the service was good.in january, they upped the price for the personal training sessions, and although I had signed a contract for a specific price, they wanted to raise is, so I decided then & their to...

I canceled my membership in january 2014 and crunch kept billing me. After weeks of trying to get a hold of someone who could help me, I was issued a refund check. I left the country for several weeks only to return and find they began charging again. And again I tried for weeks and weeks to unsuccessfully reach someone and today I received a vicious call...

I bought season ticket from the company crunch fitness gym. But because of family problem, I needed to cancel the ticket. I called the manager and asked to cancel it. Also the manager promised to stop all charges, but after a week they charged me again. I contacted him again and he told me that the refund would be within 30 days. But they again and again...

I had signed up for 3 months in the summer (june-aug) as I was leaving the country at the end of august. I made it very clear that I was leaving in the end of august and was told "that's fine". after getting billed twice in june (5 days apart) I spoke to someone in the gym, and was assured that it was advance payment for my last month, which again I mentioned would be august. I was told "remind us near the beginning of august".
August 3rd comes around and I notice a charge to my account. this made a total of 4 payments in 3 months. I visisted the gym and was told to email someone about the issue. after an email on august 4th, I got a reply on the 5th telling me that I had to tell them about my cancellation "before the 3rd of august because that's when we do our billing". I politely asked for a refund saying that I payed for august the first month, and would not be in the country in september making the payment a complete waste of my money. she told me that there is nothing she can do and I should contact the billing.
I contacted the billing about 4 different occasions, each time being put on hold for at least 30 minutes only to speak to someone with poor english skills. being an immigrant myself I could sympathize for having to learn english and so it didn't bother me too much. what really pissed me off is that they gave me attitude for their ridiculous mistake and refused to refund me claiming that I should have been told about billing being done on the 3rd of each month.
First off why the hell am I getting charged 28 days in advance. second why the hell is this "3rd of the month" so divine that they can't possibly override it and refund me my money that they clearly owe me? instead of an apology and an attempt to help me (the customer) resolve my issue, I was given attitude and basically told to go away.
Now I sit here searching the internet for other peoples past experiences with this corrupt management trying to see what my best option is, and I figure I should write this in case it can help others better watch their accounts, as crunch fitness will take your money and hope that you dont notice. if you do notice, theyll do their best to give you the run around to the point that you give up and say screw it take the damn $45. i'm a student and I do not have the luxury of handing out $45 to every person who pushes me around a little, and so I refuse to let them win.

Gym or pick pockets
My wife registered at the crunch fitness center near her work place when we lived in chicago. about 3 months ago when we were in the process of moving to maryland she tried to cancel her gym membership, that was when our problems started. she was informed by the gym that she needed to have proof that she was moving from the chicago before she can cancel her contract. the gym also required a 30 days notification with a utility bill which was the only proof they would take. well; what that means is that if I moved to leave with a family member because I could not afford to rent a place yet I would still need to pay my gym membership even though I would not be using the gym. moreover the requirement of a 30 day notice with a utility bill means that in the best of circumstance one will have to pay for 2 mths after physically leaving the gym location.
Well we have been in md since october and only rented a place so crunch is still charging my wife for a service that is not rended. I believe strongly that this is nopt business at all but robbery. I suggest that they gym re-examine their policies.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
I was told on the phone that my membership has been canceled but I was still being charged for past 9 months plus next year annual fee. Now they are refusing to refund me the amount they have charged me this far. They have teenagers running the place who are not fully trained in guiding customers.
I signed up for a 2 year contract with CRUNCH FITNESS. Within the contract from CRUNCH FITNESS it states that my renewal rate after the 2 years was $510. My membership expired in November and CRUNCH REFUSED to honor the contracts renewal rate. I told Crunch it was breach of contract and illegal to not offer me the fee on the contract. They said that Crunch is no longer part of Bally's and that the agreement I had was written by Bally's, even though it clearly states CRUNCH FITNESS on the contract and therefor they will not honor it. They want a deposit and $79/ month. This is BAD business. The Chicago Crunch will probably go under just like the LA Crunch did if they continue to operate like this... Plus there parking rates have gone up significantly. If I went 4days/ week for 1 year my parking would cost me $832, if I didn't go over the 2 hour maximum.

I was a member of crunch fitness for 6 months in 2006. I cancelled my membership due to a medical condition, providing the requisite doctor's note, as requested by crunch on 12-22-06. or at least I thought I cancelled.
Crunch's billing department apparently didn't get the memo.in may of 2007 crunch began debiting the amount of monthly membership dues from my account despite the fact that I was no longer a member. this went on from may until july of 2007. finally, and thank god, I lost my wallet. therefore changing my debit card # so crunch couldn't take anymore of my hard earned money.
Upon realization of the fact that they were stealing money from my bank account, I attempted to contact both the agt crunch acquisition llc based out of chicago to rectify this and also reached out to the local crunch. quite a frustrating experience.
It was like deja vu every time I called the national group out of chicago. I explained my situation and how I had cancelled long ago and they owed me money but somehow I never received calls back, nor did I get my money back — at this point, over $200.
The local crunch assistant manager must have been the one to finally get me some relief. I threatened to go to the bbb, complaintsboard.com and file a complaint with the consumer division of the ny ag's office as well as go to the local media... that finally got his attention.
Crunch finally credited my bank account the money they owed me but they freakin started sending bills and collections notices again!
My hell has started again and i'm going on a blitz until this is over and done and they stop trying to steal people's hard earned cash.

I only has to work with one guy. I told him I couldn't afford to do more than the sessions we agreed on. I reached out to him to cancel my membership several times, he waited til the last min and now I can't get my money back since I waited 10 days, which is a lie.
I want to upgrade my membership and I was told I had to wait till the annual renewal date. I joined last week. When I called [protected] all they want to do is sell me a monthly membership to a discount club. I got the phone number off of one ou your websites.
hello,
my name is navdeep and my email is nk6480536@gmail.com. i got my membership 12 days ago and i never visited the gym due to some personal issues and i had to cancel it. i went yesterday to cancel and they want me to pay 56.66 annual fee. It was only 1 day over 10 day period. Please provide me exception as i cannot afford it
I signed up two kids for 23.99 a month for past six months been charged 39.99 a month. Manager said that's what I signed up for gave bank statement showing 23.99 said if I didn't like it leave. Then I asked for paperwork he had no e walked away refused to address issue.
I keep getting emails stating I owe a balance to Amherst NY/Tonawanda NY locations. I have reached out multiple times to cancel this membership through phone and email stating that I need it cancelled and to send me the cancel form. No one has cancelled this even though a manager stated he did. I need this to end now.
Gym in Cape Coral is way too crowded .Either stop letting new people in or renovate it to make it fit . Also what’s up with only having one machine for each workout .Impossible to do leg day ,too many people sitting on the machine just going on their phones and not even using them or people who just has a never ending set .smh
This gym needs to be open more later on the weekends .Ridiculous.Do they think everyone goes and parties .No some of us actually have bad self image problems and want to feel better by going to the gym and can’t even do that after workinf a 9-5 and it closes at 7. Wth
This guy name Vinny, Bald head full of tattoos on his body. He sexually harassment multiple females and say many disgusting things toward people in the city. He also throw weights on the floor, banging and slamming it. I think he work in the DOT because he came in one time with that hoodie say dot on the back of it.
Hey everyone,
Crunch did the same to me in Alberta, Canada. I am on board with any law suit, they are still charging me to this day while the gym is closed. Even through the Covid19 time.
I say let's go with a class-action lawsuit, I will talk with my lawyer and see what I can do these guys are thieves, even during Covid with the gym shut down they still charge me. I called to cancel, after four years of being charged, for a place I don't even go to.
Is there still a class action lawsuit in discussion. I have $4000 in UNUSED personal training they will NOT refund. I have been diagnosed with a medical condition that prevents me from going to the gym (and from working out all in general). I have submitted doctors letters and a bill of sale to show that I have since moved. They reject for no reason. They do NOT provide a copy of their PT contract. They never disclose the balance on your PT account (its hidden and no one but the manager - that makes his commission on PT -can see it). I just raised this with the NY AG. But want to talk to anyone else that is in this situation. I'm taking action. Fed up and will not walk away from $4K (now they tell me that these expire in July. DO NOT BUY PERSONAL TRAINING SESSIONS WITH CRUNCH!
I am on board for the class action lawsuit. I had what I was told a 12 session contract for personal trainer and they kept billing me after the contract ended. No one ever said hey we will never stop billing you even after the end of your contract and the trainer no longer works there. I have not been to the gym but 6 times in 3 treasury’s.
I had the same experience in North Brunswick, NJ. I signed up for 12 lessons of PT to become acquainted with the machines. When I completed my 12 lessons my trainer said you are done with your lessons, and I thanked him for his help. They continued to bill me to the tune of $1680.00. No one will listen, answer the phone, return a call or respond to you in any way, I filed a complaint with the BBB, and they actually lied that they had tried to contact me by phone. Would love to see where we can go with this. MItch Stark M_stark@comcast.net
