Closing whenever they want
Wilmington Ohio puts a sign on the door saying we are closing today at 6:00 (2/6/2022) and just a few days earlier the same sign says closing today at 3:00.
We end up driving 13 miles just to see that they are closed again early. How can we know they are closed or closing early and not end up driving to town and have to go back home because they want to close hrs. before its closing time.
If this keeps happening then it will be time to start boycotting this store. Figure the gas prices and what it takes to drive 26 miles for nothing. These are not the only times this has happened.
Desired outcome: Find a way to let us know when will be closed early and not just when they feel like it. nd out why the store is closing so early.
Store closed during business hours
Please be advised that I visited Dollar Tree #4872 on Sunday, February 6, 2022, at 10;30a.m., and found the front door clocked during business hours. I was told by two customers standing in the parking lot that they could not enter Store #4872 because there was only one employee in this location. This isn't the first time this has happened to customers who find this location closed during regular business hours by your employees. An employee taped a handwritten note on the front window saying this store new hours were from 10:00a.m. until 7;00p.m. on Monday through Sunday. The sign was taken down by an employee and I have a photo of this location business hours which are Monday-Saturday 09am-09pm and Sunday 09am-08pm posted on the front window. If this is the store hours, customers want an answer why your employees are closing the store and locking the door. Customers are confused and wondering if the employees at this location are setting their own hours and why are is the door locked? All Dollar Tree Store hours should be set by the corporate office and employees need to adhere to the hours on the front window in black print. Employees shouldn't be able to close the store and post handwritten notes on the door without authorizing this with the corporate office first!
Desired outcome: Please determine what the business hours are at this store location so customers aren't turned away at the door any longer.
Service
I was at the store and needed my wallet. My boyfriend tried to bring it and the lady working said they were closed. Even though she knew I needed it when she told me prior to 9 that they were closed. It was exactly 9:00 when he tried to bring it in. She wouldn’t let him in, even though she knew I needed it. Nor would she let someone in looking for 1 thing. Let alone what another guy needed. It’s ridiculous to shut out customers like that. Needless to say I put my stuff down and walked out. Very poor customer service and very frustrating. She knew I was waiting on a card.
Store #1488 Store Manager
Rude customer services! The manager is nasty and rude. She stereotype the opposite race. Makes false claims towards the opposite race.
Management / employees
1/30/2022 Walk in the store to say good morning twice, employee did not response and started to talk on her cell phone. As I walk through the store, employees were stocking with cell phone to speak and cussing though the phone. Manger was helping them stock, she hears it as well. And did not say a word. I asked the manager Haley, who is the manager, she...
Read full review of Dollar TreeCurrent product price increases
Dollar Tree has recently increased the majority of their product prices from $1.00 (hence the name of the store) to $1.25. a 25% increase. I understand that sometimes inflation requires a nominal increase in product cost but 25%? That's almost criminal! Now, if a customer purchases 4 items, they are paying $5 rather than $4. Why? How about increasing the prices by a dime? That's a 10% increase and far more understandable.
This 25% increase could also open the door to price increase for all other similar stores, simply because the marketplace has allowed this shameful practice.
The majority of shoppers at the "dollar" stores are shopping there because their income only supports these lower cost retail facilities. I am a senior citizen on a very fixed income so these stores have been a relief from all the current price increases in the marketplace.
Dollar Tree recently opened a store within walking distance from my home and I was spending a considerable amount of money there, but I went to the store last week (Jan. 23, 2022) to purchase several items and was taken aback by the difference in the cost of almost everything I was intending to purchase. I did buy 9 of the 24 items I had intended to get (because I immediately needed those 9 items), letting the cashier know I had left many items unpurchased due to this high increase and that I would probably not return to the store for future purchases. I will go to a different retail store for my cards, still $.98, and return to Big Lots for all else I was purchasing at Dollar Tree. Yes, it will take me 10 minutes to get to Big Lots versus 1 minute to Dollar Tree but their prices are realistic and still a great value for my dollar.
Desired outcome: Dollar Tree should reconsider such a large price increase for the majority of their products. 25% is an extremely high increase!
Dollar Tree signed their own Death notice .. It's only a matter of time people are waking up !
Next time you go to Dollar Tree ( if your really so foolish ) Take a good look at the items ! What do you see ?
The difference from say a year ago ..
All products are or have been reduced to half the size ..
Do you really believe your saving money there ?
You are not a good shopper !
And now they up the price .. ( 1.25 ) ..
Are we really that foolish ?
Small bags of chips = not worth
50 cents / less batteries to a pack ..
Used to have two 9 volt per pack .. Now one ! Toothpaste like travel size ..
All containers 1/2 the size ..
12 oz Clorox bleach 1.25 ?
It's rediculous ! Go buy 1 gallon at a real store for 2 or 3 bucks and set yourself free !
Are the Chinese not rich enough ?
They give now 1/2 the product and you pay a quarter plus more ?
Wake up people !
There's really only one item I go there for and it's reading glasses ..
All the other things like medicated foot powder ( the blue bottle ) they don't even stock now .. And many others that seamed like value .. ( not stocked ) or discontinued ... Not enough profit !
Greed is a horrible disease !

Check out #3 - Sales Associate : Rena
The cashier was rude, no other way to say it. Did not speak until I asked her to verify my total on the screen, all I got was a grunt.
I understand good help is hard to find, but I suggest Dollar Tree does a better job hiring someone to represent their name.
This will be the last time I shop in this store
Christmas dots candy
Saturday 1-15-22 I came in store 636 in District Heights Md and bought a bunch of boxes of DOTS candy; some were the Christmas flavor. When at the register the Christmas boxes of candy scanned at 1 cent a piece. I thought perhaps that was a special price to get them sold and off the shelves. I came back Tuesday January 18th on my lunch break to buy more...

Sales tax on non-taxable - candy
On Sunday, Jan. 16, 2022, I bought 2 bags of candy at Dollar Tree in Belle Vernon, PA. The cashier charged me sales tax ($.15). I brought in my PA Sales Tax book showing her and the Manager that there was no sales tax, and I wanted a refund. The Manager said she was not refunding it, because it was in the system. I would like a refund of $.15 because candy is non-taxable. The Manager was very rude. Dollar Tree makes millions of dollars in 2021; and the CEO is paid millions of dollars. If they are charging tax on candy, there is probably more items that they are charging tax.
Desired outcome: Refund the sales tax
You claimed Hershey Factory definitely would know that & not charge sales tax! If Dollar Tree doesn't realize there is no tax on candy, surely their auditors, KPMG LLP of Chesapeake, VA, should catch this (i.e., if they are good tax accountants)!
I have a current sales tax book. It states candy is "Non-taxable." Also, there is an online book which states "candy is non-taxable."
The store in general
Sirs or madams: This is the second time that I have written to you about the Dollar Tree store in Westfield, Massachusetts. And with such a fine location, and probable excellent revenue intake, it is a shame, really, that I feel compelled to write. This morning, when the cashier short changed me, and went over to the little one-way glassed office, where...

I bought a buffalo horn for my dog who is about 50 lbs. He had it for about two days when he bloodily threw up pieces of the horn. This product is dangerous and should be taken off the shelves. In looking at the horn it is splittering and coming apart in layers. This could lead to internal bleading . I bought it at a store in Saint Charles, Missouri.

Manager Jamie Lee Cullman 157 store
I realize she has staffing issues, but she doesnt need to rely on a part time assistant manager ( my daughter) to over work herself and be exposed to covid-19. 2 employees had let the manager know on thursday 1-6-21 they had covid19, my daughter works with them and was not told previously they had been infected. On Friday, 1-7-21 Taylor was feeling sick, week had chills and fever so we went to the emergency room and given a covid test, which was negative, but she is still sick. The manager stated to come in anyway and work an hour late. Then then stated to work on her off day Saturday 1-8. My daughter was not able to because she is still sick with chills and fever. The manager of the store was upset because she didnt answer her phone ( at 7:30 am) nor get the message until after 9.00 am... On .Sunday 1-9-21 apparently the manager threw a tantrum and kept messaging my daughter to show up, stating she does not know what to do. Again explaining she has a flu whatever it is. Still has my daughter sick and unable to work, which is not unusual since its is only 2-3 days since onset.
I attempted contact with the manager to explain the situation she was causing and the manger tried to talk over me then hung up. I do not appreciate the lack of respect or communication, my daughter has a medical condition, colds, flu, and stress and anxiety and such wear down her stregnth and make her more likely to have seisures, which she has had at work previosuly. I dont believe the manager had her best interests in this situation.
I attempted to re call her but had to leave a voicemail stating such and we are going to visit her regular doctor on Monday to see what medically can be done with this virus or cold, or covid issue.
Desired outcome: call me [protected] to discuss this
Staff/store
Walked in and the store reeked of marijuana and the employees as well... Not legal in Texas and they need to drug test all of the employees in that store. I had never been in there and swung in to grab a few things and was greeting with a very strong smell. I dont care what you do outside of work, but you shouldnt be able to smell it that strongly inside a store. It is unsafe!

I live in Toledo Ohio and go to your store every sunday to get a news paper, this last sunday when the Manager finely open the doors we all started to go in and I walke to the register and ask the manager if she would hold a paper for me cause I had other shoping to do. She replyed in the most rudest manner I'd ever herd (in a loude voice) said NO and continued to ring other people out. I walk through the store looking for what else I needed and could not find it so I went bach in line behind 6 or 7 other people ahead of me and when it came my turn I told her I would like a paper so she picked up the paper and rang it up and in turn all I had was 20 dollars and with a loud voice said I dont have change for a 20 very rudely. I know for a fact that while I was walking through the store there had been at least 20 people or more that was there ahead of me getting a paper. This goes on every sunday no change and very rude to the coustermers. She has no reason being a manager of the store, she acts like she doesn't even want to be there. The store is located at HOLLAND-SYLVANIA RD AND BANCROFT IN TOLEDO OHIO. If and when I find another dollar tree to get a paper I will but I refuse to shop there any more. I thank you for your time

Read full review of Dollar TreeNo Signage to Say Entire Store is $1.25
I decided to go to the Dollar Store before January 1, 2022 ( on 12/30/2021)when I believed the prices would become $1.25 as I was near the Dollar Tree Store#3847 Fairmont Center, Pacifica CA. When in the store I noticed some shelves and hangers said $1.25 so I never took those items. I only took items marked on $1 shelves or hangers. When I got to the cashier ( a long line of 6 persons ahead of me) I noticed she was charging me $1.25 for every item. When I drew it to her attention that it should only be $1 she said all prices had been raised in mid-December. I drew her attention to the 3 display hangers behind her --one of which said the product was $1. She said that was a mistake. I said the sign out front says all items One Dollar. She said that is only the logo. I have my receipt and I bought 17 items. I believe you owe me 17 quarters ( $4.25 )
Desired outcome: Pay me $4.25
Customer service
The Sales Associate Judy is horrible she has the worst customer service ever. I only had 2 items and she didn't want to wait on me or give me my receipt and she laid my receipt down when I had my hand out. This woman is real lazy and don't want to work. Judy is racist and shouldn't be a cashier and she only treated me that way because I am light skinned.
