delayed remittance and worst customer service
I made two International transfers to an University in India for Hostel and Academic fees on the 15th and 18th of June. I visited India on 23rd June expecting my ward to be smoothly admitted, but to my surprise the beneficiary did not receive the funds. I had to make multiple international telephone calls to the Customer Care and they always mentioned that the transfer was successful. They had been very prompt to send me a "Successful Transfer Advice" the very next day. Fortunately I knew that their correspondent bank in India was HDFC. I made multiple visits to the beneficiary bank and HDFC and with my contacts in HDFC I found out that ENBD did not provide the correct information to HDFC and inspite to their repeated communication ENBD did not respond. My daughter's admission was at stake and I had to reschedule my flight and stay put with her at a hotel till she could get an hostel. Upon my return to the UAE, I again called up Customer Care on 29th June and they still maintained that the transfer was successful, but upon being told the HDFC story they admitted that some information was requested by HDFC on 27th June but yet to be actioned upon by ENBD. The transfers finally reached the beneficiary on the 28th and 29th June and I received a call from ENBD Customer Care on 10th July asking me if the beneficiary has received the funds ! They should be confirming me about the transfer rather than asking me. Will ENBD compensate me for the expenses made towards international telephone calls, extended hotel stays, local travels to banks totalling about AED 2500 and for the mental agonies that me and my daughter had to face? I am seriously contemplating in cancelling my ENBD credit cards and moving my account with ENBD to a bank which takes customer complaints seriously and urgently work toward a resolution depending on the urgency and seriousness of the complaint. It may also be noted that accounts with ENBD are note secure anymore as many account holders have lost significant sums from their accounts.
metlife wealth builder
I moved to Dubai 2 years ago, and was looking for a long term investment. Emirates NBD pushed me to Met Life Wealth Builder suggesting that I could get my money out at any time. Looking at a plan in which I have invested 44, 000 USD to date, Only 8, 200 is currently available and to get that I need to pay a 2, 000 USD processing fee. Emirates NBD never gave me an official document to keep and you can find nothing clear on line.
mastercard platinum credit card belong to emirates nbd bank
Emirates NBD credit card seller, where he lied to me and told me there are no renewal fees on the Master card Platinum Credit Card belong to Emirates NBD, however, the statement issued showing renewal fees including VAT in totals 742.64 AED
even nobody asks from Bank whether I want to renew or not
Now, Cancelation of this credit card is required and no money will be paid from my side for renewal

collection department
The worst people work for this department. They take more than the payment they required. They loot money from people.if the payment 1000 they take 2000 and after taking the payment with holding extra 1000 they make another deduction for no reason.
I have no clue what's their calculation in taking others money don't they have any shame to take others money if it's already paid.
I have a question bank is for our money to be safe. Or to be looted for no reason
credit card
I have been using their services for over 6 years.
I have my salary account with them & also use their Credit Card services.
I am not a person who uses CC for all my purchases but I was told I will be able to avail good offers & discounts so I brought my first Credit Card from them which was offered to me on free for life bases.
This month I noticed bank charges of AED 25/- related to Jan, 18 expense being charged in my June, 18 statement I don't ever pay any bank charges & was amazed to see that in my monthly statement.
When I inquired I was told it is for VOX movie tickets offer I availed in Jan-18.
The offer that Nbd offers is 2 tickets worth AED 75 is discount for at the price of AED 45/-. An offer I have been availing for the past 6 years for AED 45/-
If you do the math they are promoting a discounted deal for AED 45/- & then charging an additional AED 25/- to the customer's account without taking any consent from them.
When I submitted a complaint in their customer service centre they openly just refused to take an accountability of this sudden change in service.
Experiencing such a treatment from them I began to pull out all my CC statements to check for any more charges that the bank silently charged to my account.
I was not a person who checked her Statement line by line but now I have had my learnt my lesson the hard way.
I saw another Bank charge related to last payment charged to my account which is not relevant as I have opt for their Direct debit service.
When I encountered the customer service representative again she did acknowledge the fact that I was wrongfully charged an amount of AED 250/-+ correspondingly informing me even those its a mistake from their side a rectification of this error require management authorization without which they can't credit the bal.
I am disappointed in their customer service & have lost my faith in them.
I do not want a Bank who make mistakes with my money & refuse to take any accountability of their action & make unnecessary delay to revolve their own mistakes.
banks
I would like to ask the following
You cannot have a debit atm card if you have a joint account (according to the bank)
A) if one has a joint account with no debit card issued, how do they access their own money.
B) how can one register for internet/mobile banking if no card is provided.
C) Does the joint couple have to come to Dubai for every little transaction or change of operation, can a sworn police affidavit letter not be provided.
D) Why is Emirates NBD banking becoming so complicated for a joint account. Why cant cards be issued for this, this is not an investment account, the funds are required on a daily basis.
Please call me back urgently
+[protected]
I have come to open a joint account with my wife, after all the paperwork was done, the consultant said that we need to transfer funds and thereafter the debit card will be issued as they need to debit the account as the cards are going to be couriered.
Once I had done that, giving the consultant my physical address for the courier, he whatsapps back to state that the cards cannot be issued as it is a joint account.
Which bloody bank in the world, allows you to open a joint account without sharing such information, you comply to the bank requirements by transferring funds to the newly opened account and thereafter they tell you that you cannot get a debit card because its a joint account. My wife and I must come all the way back to Dubai to change the operation to single owned account to get a debit card, furthermore the bank is incapable of forwarding the necessary documents to us via e-mail to sign and return back.
Absolutely pathetic, they should consider changing their policies or kicking out such consultants for not sharing this vital information.
Moreover, you have an account which you cannot access via internet banking, mobile banking etc.. because it requires a card number. So I have no access now to my own funds.
Fantastic!
Oh yes, the call centre are taking forever to get back to me on this.
banking
I have had a terrible experience with emirates nbd from the start. I was met by modar faizal in barsha branch (Now transfered to police acadamy branch) and was sold a lot of cheap talk; we are the greatest bank and I will give you a priority account based on your salary (Have since been receiving emails that my salary is not sufficient).. We are the greatest bank and can offer you an spg credit card and I will waive the joining fee (Have since been slapped with a 1500 joining fee on which I raises 2 cases however nothing was done, just call center talk).. We are the greatest bank and I will get you a loan within 3 working days (Handed all required documents to nbd on 6th june and am still waiting for the funds with a different excuse every day).. Seriously I so so regret changing over from hsbc.. Biggest mistake.
credit card and extra charges!
Hi,
I and my wife have the credit card from Emirates NBD. We were using it. Then we decided to make installment for total amount from both side and we were planning to finish that debt and close those cards. Cause we don't want to work with Emirates NBD. Whatever we are paying EMI every month for both cards. The problem is they are charging extra money per month without using those cards. Only for me they are charging about 2.000 and per month but my EMI is 2.917aed, so doesn't make sense to pay it to cause after calculation normally I am paying just 900 AED per month and we would not finish that debt in whole life. I just call them to ask this situation, they told me that that is for over limit payment. So what kind payment is this and how come they expecting to close my debt with that EMI and charge. Same thing for my wife. So it means Emirates NBD is charging about 4.000 AED per month to us.
Also, I attached those screenshots. It is happening every single month and they are not giving any solution for that. They just trying to explain the reason but without any solution. So I am asking why are they taking money from my credit card with you any permission? What kind bank policy you have? And finally what will be your solution for it?!
Regards.
credit card
Even if one person decides against opting for Emirates NBD credit card, I will find this effort of complaint registration worthwhile.
I was using the ENBD credit card 4439-XXXX-XXXX-7616 for 8 months and had to cancel it because of the worst experience of using a credit card in the last 12 years:
1. Charged some unknown premiums on each of my statements totaling about AED 1000/-
2. Charged Late fees and Finance charges for a one day delay totaling about AED 750/- (payment was made on last due day, amount reflected on their statement as next day)
3. On request for cancellation, no attempt made to retain a so called platinum customer having transactions of ~ AED 3000/- to AED 4000/- per month on an average
4. Cancelled the credit card without providing any communication - had to confirm myself whether card has been cancelled.
5. Reply to email service requests is standard - contact customer care number
6. No cashback or discount on any purchase
7. Found a far better credit card with more points, cashbacks, free tickets, heavy dining discounts, better customer service, free offers.
So stay away from Emirates NBD credit card.
worst customer service ever
Avoid at all costs.
Unfortunately I've been with them for the past 4 years as they were the same bank my previous employer was using and it made the logistics easier.
Now as long as you are not doing anything out of the ordinary, everything is fine, but heaven forbid you should fall into a problem.
I changed jobs and they immediately froze my account after the End Of Service was service was sent, DESPITE having the Mirdif City Center branch manager tell me that as long as you have enough balance in your account to cover your monthly loan and credit card payments then everything is fine. Of course that turned out to be a lot of BS.
Once they blocked my account, I had to go through 3 different customer service employees (plus the phone customer service) over 4 weeks and still have not unblocked my account.
They are untrained, ignorant of their own bank's procedures, impolite and quite frankly just don't care.
I have also been trying for the past 3 months to claim a cashback that was advertised, provided I use my credit card for paying school bills, but never received it.
I log in a complaint, then I get "Sorry Sir, we'll send the money to your account mid June"
Then it's "End of June", then "mid July"...etc
I still haven't received anything.
The really frustrating thing is that there's no one really to complain to. They just don't give a ****!
credit card
I been client with BNP Paribas Egypt was the greatest services and since is been sold to Emirates NBD and the worst services start to be delivering, first I get my expire card issue 1 month after my card expire date which normally before was always delivered 2 weeks before expire date, and after 4 months using it is get suspended by VISA saying for security reason and till I'm writting this complain is been over 35 days still the bank doesn't print new card as they saying they got problems with the vendor (Supposed they mean VISA Corporation). I submitted many complains and after like 30 days of complain someone tracking my complain saying we get delayed in printing new card because of new system migration from BNP to NBD and because of problems with VISA, i asked any Deadline to when I could have my card received, the complain center replied they have no idea when could be printed is seem unprofessional for them to handle a complain. my advise for anyone have business in Egypt, don't ever open an account with Emirates NBD, and for whom still with them you better start having new account with different Bank.
bad service for collection department
I am a customer of ENBD bank since 2010 until recently to my full satisfaction.
A week ago when I made a payment I received the regular SMS, and noticed there were 19k AED missing in my account. You can imagine that immediately I was thinking that my account was being hacked or my money illegally taken from my account. In panic I rushed to the nearest Branch-name ATM, checked the mini statement which showed the same.
Next, I called [protected] being assisted by a lady, Sumit (could be misspelled) and I was even more shocked by the reply that my current employer might freeze that amount. She tried to explain this normally happens when a person is not trustworthy and/or wants to illegally leave the country. She forwarded me to Collection Department and according to Amed (could be misspelled), a polite and professional representative, there would be a possibility to unblock it by handing over my passport with visa and Salary Transfer Letter.
After this statement I checked with my company HR Department and they stated that they never requested such a thing to the bank.
You can imagine that I am dissatisfied with the provided service and the fact that I wasn’t able to take ownership over my own money.
I expected from the bank if there was any doubt or clarification required this to be announced in advance, in order for me to provide the necessary details before blocking my account. Also my account could be checked for monthly salaries from the company I work. And who will reimburse all that stress, time and money for phone calls / branch visit (Why can't it be solved online, for example?).
What is the guaranty this headache won't happen again without reason?
I hope such a “reputable” company should improve their services in order to retain their customers.

liability mishandle
Hi,
Would love some feedback here. I took a personal loan from EmiratesNBD in 2007 and about a year later they decided to transfer the loan to Emirates Islamic Bank and the amount changed. Now first of all; I never authorized this transfer. (I checked with the banks to provide me a copy of my application form but they have no such record; I wanted to get those forms to make sure that there is no clause of such. Secondly, once the loan got transferred about 1 year of payments went missing and they bounced the cheque ... I resolved that issue later after writing a lot of complaints etc but until now they have not recovered my payments. I lodged this complaint with Central Bank over a year ago and that is when the bank superiors started to ring me and talk to me. I sent them all the required documents and after being active for sometime they have now dissappeared. When I call Central Bank they say the complain is under process (over 1 year now).
Can anyone advise on options here?
I approached a couple of lawyers and their advice was to sue after reviewing my documents but I have still not because I expected such a big name to resolve this on an administrative level ...
It has been over 2 years now since I am suffering from this now ... thank you EmiratesNBD and worse Emirates Islamic Bank who have not made this easier and hold a security cheque of mine...
Dissapointed, Annoyed, Shocked, Absurd ...
How can such a big name mess up like that and not do anything about it ...
HZ
I am regular in making payments (by force) and I really feel like I am paying for something that I do not need to for.
no liability letter
I applied for a No liability letter from the bank, they told me that it will take 10 days to process, But 15 days ago still I am waiting for a simple letter. So At least if you open an account with this bank, always ask them the policies in written, Its too much frustrating if you need it urgent even I have no liabilities/Credit cards with the bank.
Dear i had one credit card with nbd . i paid whole card amount and i ask for no liability letter. the bank is saying they need 45 days to update after that u apply then it will take 5 working days... so it become more than 50 days... they are saying these are there policies...
Agree 100%, Never do banking with Emirates NBD
the worst bank ever
To whom it may concern, Last year I change my job and it so happen that I have a personal loan from emirates nbd bank.. The bank told me to transfer my salary because that was the bank policy if you have a personal loan from them, my new company was not able to transfer my salary to my emirates nbd account because they are exclusive to another bank, so I...

During the month of October 2010 I tranferred AED5, 000 from my EmiratesNBD account to my AMEX card in Australia using the web tool offered by the same Bank to process the transaction on-line. Having used the on-line service successfully in the past, I thought that this should be a routine/easy/no problem transaction. Unfortunately I was wrong, the AED5, 000 'dissapeared': AMEX says that they haven't received the money and EmiratesNBD Customer Service after three months and at least 15 e-mails insist that the transation was susscessful but they don't show me evidence from AMEX that they receive the money and they refuse to contact AMEX to clarify the issue.

sattlement of loan
Dear Editor,
I had a personal loan from emirates bank before the merging of emirates bank and NBD bank. Then almost 3 years back I transferred my current account to ADCB bank, resulting, ADCB bought out all my dues/loan from emirates bank . Now after this big time gap, I am getting threatening messages from emiratesNBD to pay my loan amount which is overdue as per the SMSs recieved. I have got the photocopy of origenal documents from ADCB bank, these are copy of manager's cheque, a letter from ADCB for settlement of loan and NOC from emirates bank to ADCB, after receiving the loan amount bia cheque. I have circulated all these documents to various departments and offices of emiratesNBD, including their collection department office in deira as well as in sharjah, but till date I am getting all these threatening messages. I am quite helpless and in distress.
i had a car loan with emirates bank 2 years ago for 60 instlament and i had issue of salary was not in time as the cheque dated it bounces dispite i bare all fines and pay to collection dept as due to some reasons i had dues of4 instalment .later i hand over my car to collection dept. and was told that no more cheque will debited from my account.still cheque are debited from my account .i dont know how these bank deal wil that means they suck the blood there is allaha
Don't expect that your problem will ever get solved unless you go there personally and meet the CEO or someone who can take a decision, because they aimed at cutting cost they laid off all humans and left only recording machines working there, they'll repeat the same sentences all the time.
If I'm in your place buddy I'll try to meet the biggest guy and not move out until I get a clearance letter from them and still check with Dubai Police, Immigration & Airport to make sure they didn't file a police complain and you will get stuck detained and nobody can confirm your payment.. I know someone who had a terrible experience recently with them..
