Customer service
My claim expired on Sept 4 2021 and was required to file a new claim. September 14 Started the process online and was required to verify with ID.me. Every time I tried to complete the process it kicked me out with email or phone number don't match. On Sept 15 I call EDD and she gave me a number to call and every time I call it says EDD has ramped up to help the increased to take better service then says to many calls and can't help you. So tell me what am I supposed to do ?

Desired outcome: I would like access to ID.me so I can complete my claim process
Edd system
Started my claim 6-11-21 and still no payment issued. I've verified my identity 3 times and they still say i have no wages in the state. My w-2 clearly says I do and ive mailed it and emailed it. Good luck reaching someone on the phone, it's never going to happen. I can't believe this is legal. When is someone going to start fighting for the people?!
Desired outcome: Do what’s right
Well you had a chance to recall Newsom and everyone voted to keep him. So this is what you get
Have gotten disconnected twice after waiting one hour, another time two hours
After many unsuccessful attempts at trying to reach a human being at EDD,
I called about a claim that is now, on August 3, 2021, about five months old.
On 8/19/21, I finally (after 2 hours on hold) reached an employee who was being helpful, but then when he put me on hold to check into my claim, I was somehow disconnected.
Same thing happened today, 6/3/21. She also was polite, but when she put me on hold to speak with a Claims Specialist, it seemed that I was put back in queue, and then after about 35 minutes, got disconnected.
They are not allowed to call back, and the employee today said if we got disconnected, they notate the account, but she was unable to assure me that a supervisor would call me back.
The first EDD employee that I referenced said that he thought my claim should have maybe been automatically extended. However, after reading information which was unclear to me as to exactly what to do (and back then also trying to call many, many times), I filed a new claim.
Maybe somehow my claim fell through the cracks, I don't know.
I need to receive a call back from a supervisor, probably a Claims Specialist.
Have been waiting too long. There needs to be a way for EDD to call back disconnected callers.
Desired outcome: call from EDD Claims Specialist, or at least a phone appointment
Customer service
Customer service is unattainable. [protected] answers, but any selected menu option results in 'call volume too great' message and subsequent disconnection of call. Have tried repeatedly for two months...online claims show only 'pending' status. Email to claims was read, not answered.
Desired outcome: Status update, process next steps required of me please
Reopen/new claim
I received unemployment benefits for 2020, and was completely eligible for PUA and was not given the proper filling for PUA and so I waited to refile when that claim ended and I was eligible to refile this Aug 2021. How can I recieve PUA? I have spent months and hours waiting for the ability to refile or open a new claim, and trying to direct where my call needs to heard through the edd office and I am tired of being put on hold of transferred.
Desired outcome: PUA ASAP
Unemployment payment
I am not getting paid, I cannot certify for the last two weeks by phone and EDD UI will not let me login, I get an error message.
I have not heard from anyone regarding my case.
I call the [protected], if i get in I sit in que for 3 hours and they hang up. I have lost all avenues and have several bills behind now.
Please see attachments.

Unemployment Benefits
It's has been since December 2020 that I've been contacting EDD to remove the payment stop from my claim. All tier 2 representatives/claims representatives (after speaking to the first representative we must go through) cannot resolve my matter and they have escalated this to management and I'm told I'll receive a call back (which I have not). I've sent several complaints and e-mails with no outcome. Next week will be 9 months of me trying to fix this. I need urgent help.
Desired outcome: Resolve my matter so I can get paid
UI complain - to reopen claim - J Christensen
I filed for UI for loss of job on 3/22/2021. Although I have certified online every pay period; my UI payments stopped in end of May. I have tried for 2 months to reach a 'human' at EDD. ALL PH. Numbers: 800.300.5616, 866.333.4606, 833.978.2511- no help whatsoever. I've even left an email message to contact me and filed a complaint on my UI online account. Nothing has been responded to.
On UI ONLINE, I keep getting the same message to 'reopen your claim'; which I have done three (3) times with no response. Each time its says it's completed. No payments! I last submitter. Dates for the last 2 times I completed to reopen your claim message on the home page of when I logged in was on July 18th and July 26th. I suspected I was duplicating information, or why would I be asked to REOPEN CLAIM every time?! Makes no sense. No help is unacceptable to people in financial need. It's shameful this country can't get it right for their own citizens.
I cannot live like this and need help! I should be getting job offers in the next 4-6 weeks in corporate finance; but for now, I need financial UI help and to receive the funds I am entitled to.
Please, someone contacts me to help me with resolving whatever the issue is. Online voice prompts for these stupid phone number do not help. They cannot answer my question as to why the ui online system remains with the same message. No updates, no answers. I need to speak with an intelligent human, please.

Edd representative
Hello, I just received a call back from one of edd representatives and let me tell you he was EXTREMELY rude. The call goes as follows
Me: hello?
Rep: hello?
Me: is this unemployment?
Rep: do u not know who you called?
Me: you actually called me that's why I'm asking what's your name?
Rep: Steven what can I do for u?
Me: don't you have questions to ask me? You don't sound too professional and I don't want to give my information to the wrong person.
Rep: you're welcome to call back
Me: wow, or you're welcome to be a lot more professional is this call recorded?
Rep: *hangs up*
And back to the back of the line I go. This is very very VERY frustrating and it happens ALOT. The other phone calls I've received from Edd they state their opening sentence and ask my name and a few more identity verification questions. This man did not. Therefore I did not want to give my social if asked. Please do something about this. It's getting out of hand.
Desired outcome: I don’t believe he needs to be working for customer service anywhere
It seems that the philosophy of EDD is that 'A breathing body; is better than no body." Sorely disappointing and impacting our livelihoods. NO ONE chooses to be unemployed. Never have i been in 40 yrs or working.
Thank you for conveying what many of us are experiencing.

Pandemic unemployment
In December of 2020 I applied for unemployment benefits which I was denied for due to the reason of my termination and I already knew that I would be. I believe it was in January that I had received a letter from EDD stating that I was eligible for Pandemic benefits and that I did not need to do anything further it's automatic. So I waited and nothing so I contacted them again in March of 2021 by sending a message through my online account and received a response back on 03/03/21 stating that my claim had been processed and that I was already paid. I don't know who they paid because It was not me. So I sent them another message regarding the payment that they claimed that was sent to me back in March and no response period. I just recently sent them another message regarding the pandemic unemployment benefits on 07/29/21 and if I am eligible for it if I will be getting back pay and still no response. I have been unable to reach them by phone so filing a complaint is my last resort.
Desired outcome: If eligible as stated I would like my benefits along with back pay
Edd none payment for two months, not responding to phone or email.
EDD none payment for two months, not responding to phone or email. Second time around. Happened in May. The taxes we pay should support phone persons. My mother in-law does not speak English and has to go to work so I do the computer stuff. In the past when I got through it was painless and the people were nice and reassuring. I have been on the phone daily for months with no response. Sent email, with no response.
I am having the same experience and have no issues with communicating with anyone. Been employed over 40 yrs serving this country and now when I need their help the most; no response via phone, email or otherwise. It's unconscionable. Disappointed in BIDEN and the congress and senators. They ALL need to PAY ATTENTION to CITIZENS of this country. Gavin?
Unemployment claim submission
I was informed that my unemployment claim from 2020 had expired and that I needed to file a new claim, which I am qualified to do due to covid. I filled out a new claim form and sent it US Mail to PO Box 989738, West Sacramento, CA via certified US Mail. It was received by the EDD on 6/15/21 but I did not receive any response from the EDD about this claim. So on July 15 2021 I submitted an inquiry on the EDD website, however, it is now August 3 2021 and I still have not received any response regarding the claim I submitted in June or my July 15 inquiry. I request that the EDD respond and process my claim application of June 15 2021 and that EDD inform me of its status.
Benefits/customer service rep
Today i spoke with a customer service rep who REFUSED to allow me to speak with a tier 2 rep. I verified my identity at the beginning of my claim last year through the appeals court. Started receiving benefits and in Dec of 2020 they stopped my benefits and required me to verify my identity AGAIN. I tried getting through on the phone for 7 months only to be told by one rep to upload my appeal letter stating im ELIGIBLE for benefits. I confirmed that they received my document and that i have to wait for a decision to be made. Kevin Johnson the rep i spoke with could only read notes from the phone calls ive made. So i asked to speak with a tier 2 rep and he straight out said i could not. He asked why and i said i have questions i would like to ask a tier 2 rep and he said what do i need ask a tier 2 rep. The nerve of him!. I have been without benefits since Dec 2020. I need help!
Desired outcome: Identity dept to release my benefits
EDD no response/non payment
Issue: Whether EDD has a duty to pay Unemployment Benefits to Claimant Elisha Lopez
Rule:
01/28/2021 12:05 PDT at the Eligibility Interview, Evon, an EDD agent, stated that Claimant qualified for the maximum 450.00 per week plus 300.00 for pandemic relief: Total of 750.00 per week. He has certified weekly on 1/13/2021 to 2/05/2021 and since 04/27/2021, approximately 18 weeks. The total number of weeks through July 31, 2021 is 26 weeks.
02/05/2021 Claimant received a disqualification instructing him to earn 2250.00 in bona fide employment pursuant section 1256.
2/22/2021 Claimant filed an appeal on this decision.
4/27/2021 Claimant earned more than 2, 250.00 before his bona fide employment ended.
04/27/2021 to present, Claimant has requested payments though online UI and has not received an appropriate response. EDD simply writes "EDD has received your question".
05/26/2021 09:50 PDT Claimant called EDD and was transferred back and forth to different agents, Jennifer, Nancy, Deborah and Brenda and these ultimately hung up.
Desired outcome: Set a date for appeal hearing for the approximately 12 weeks 1.10.2021 to 04.02.2021. ii. Remit payment for the 14 weeks since 04.27.2021 while pending Law Judge decision for the other 12 weeks on appeal.
The EDD with CA is a joke and since liberals run that circus act they are fraudulent and unethical by trying to avoid claimants and therefore reduce the statistics of how many people are really unemployed. I HATE CALIFORNIA
payments not received
Hello I reported income like I was supposed to as part of the EDD requirements and they are holding my payment and I do not understand why they are holding payment for 7/17/2020. I corrected what needed to be corrected with them and they are still holding my payments. I will be certifying again for weekly benefits on again on Sunday so it has almost been two weeks since they started holding my payments.
Desired outcome: payment to be released.
Customer service is non existent
I called EDD on Sat 7/25/21 called first thing in the morning and after a 8 min of a 16 min wait time I got disconnected, and after several hrs got to talk to a live person, then after I told them my problem, they transferred me to a different dept. The message said over 30 min wait, I waited for 1 hr 40 min and no one picked up. On Sunday 7/26/21 called EDD at 8 am, they said it was closed a minute later, too many callers and couldn't answer my call. After hrs of trying, I finally got a msg of 15 min wait time. After 7 min, I was disconnected. Today 7/26/21 I finally able to reach a live person after unsuccessful call this morning when it said wait time 15 min, was on hold for 40 min and no one picked up and I had to leave. This evening after many tries, finally got a hold of a live person. Explained my problem, then they put me on hold for over 1 hr and never came back. What will it take to get to a live person and get my problem solved?
Desired outcome: Talk to a live person to fix my problem
Unemployment
I've been unable to receive my Unemployment benefits since April, and I have been following up with them for several months. I keep submitting the required ID verification documents, and after waiting several weeks each time, my ID verification gets rejected with no notice from them. Last time, I was told explicitly that a passport and lease agreement would be acceptable ID, and it was rejected. Their reason was that a lease agreement was not valid ID even though it is plainly stated to be so on the website. I understand there are a lot of fraud issues that are slowing down the process, but I'm beginning to think that I am being unfairly denied my rightful unemployment claims. I lost my job due to Covid, and have struggled to find full time employment. As a former California resident, I was paying into the unemployment funding for several years, and I rightfully deserve my benefits.
Desired outcome: I'm owed several months of Unemployment benefits
The EDD with CA is a joke and since liberals run that circus act they are fraudulent and unethical by trying to avoid claimants and therefore reduce the statistics of how many unemployed. I HATE CALIFORNIA
Unable to reopen claim x 7 times
I have attempted to reopen my claim multiple times with no response except to reopen my claim again. One time I received an actual confirmation message without a confirmation number only to go into my account the following day and find the confirmation gone and no other explanation. It is impossible to contact anyone at the number provided which eats up approximately 3:28 seconds each time you call only to be told they are getting too many calls and hung up on. I have called approximately 100 times and have been unable to talk to anyone about my claim. I have now been unemployed going on three months and have had no income since May 1, 2021. My claim expires in September, is that what they are waiting for?
Desired outcome: To have my claim reopened or told what the holdup is.
