I have submitted numerous documentation requested by the EDD, and have submitted everything on time, with proof of delivery by USPS. This has been going on since December 28, 2023, and I still haven't received any benefit at all ( as of May 13, 2024 ). I have received letters from EDD stating that " Since the application wasn't signed correctly...which it was", or " you haven't documented your address", which I did, it's just one excuse after another to deny me benefits for which I have paid into and am entitled to. The latest round that EDD is doing is totally avoiding any contact with me. I submitted even more paperwork for this " hearing" that they were supposed to review my claim ( for the third time) scheduled for March 8th, but I have heard absolutely NOTHING from EDD. 8:00am I had a call interview I have never felt wearing and became sick ever it cost me to have to go to the hospital I've been vomiting from wearing it just mentally Disturbed me because I was overwhelmed of what I was hearing and then I already had been wrongfully terminated. I did my best to give answers as I was being questioned but I was being told one thing and I'm supposed to be answering and I'm being told things when I'm supposed to be the one having the interview it heard and bothered me because it was not a game my life is not a joke my life is not a game either I've been going through so much things where like I say this has mentally calls me to not be able to sleep and have weary in my stomach because it's been so much and it's overwhelming for me and then by the words and the things that was said it didn't make it any better for me and I just wish that I would have been understood better and I have a comprehending problem a reading problem and things as far as that and it really showed by the way I was talked to by the way I felt disrespected and did not deserve it my comprehending is not so well so the way I speak I believe that's why the things were said to me because if I know how to speak properly I don't think I've wouldn't been spoken to in such a way and it just proved more to myself of my disabilities and I believe that's what caused this mental weariness with myself by being brought down and been knowing but now I have to accept it

No accountability
I attempted to begin the process for collecting unemployment benefits in 2022 after being terminated from my job,I was instructed to verify with the IDme website.I entered biometrics with my phone at least twice but was still told my identity could not be verified by IDme (and subsequently the EDD).I tried to get a human on the phone to explain that although I had gone through the proper procedure,the internet method wasn't allowing me to be verified.
The push to "go green" and eliminate physical paperwork and "do everything online" means that when I attempted to digitally submit my W2,I was unable to digitally send my documents.IDme wanted paper copies faxed or mailed.The postal service is the slowest method and allows for more delay.
I finally got someone from EDD to tell me they could send my claim through as the internet means would not work.The person said they would send my account number by mail.They asked me to follow the automated instructions after the call and instructed me not to hang up until I had completed the instructions.I waited for a solid hour (call time NOT included) on the phone but heard nothing and I finally hung up.What arrived 3 more weeks later was instructions to complete the process by internet...!?
I called the EDD and had to wait some more for a callback and the person that called me back said they would finish the process for me.I told him that this process had taken so long that at the time of the call,I was up for termination appeal and explained that I might be going back to work and if so,possibly wouldn't need benefits.He then told me that if that was the case to specifically call him back at the number he provided and leave a message if nobody answered.
Within a week I was cleared to go back to work and so I immediately called the number and left a message clearly stating my name and all information and my intention to CANCEL the claim.
I was terminated again a year later in 2023,and from what I could gather was in line and just had to check the mailbox for my checks (yes,I certified..)
After realizing nothing was happening I called the EDD and longer story short they said I did not qualify because the 2022 claim that was supposed to have been closed was not..!?
After much more back and forth with EDD,they are now telling me that they couldn't verify my identity..!?!?!? IDme had already verified my identity at the time of being (by EDD) told it...couldn't be... ..verified.The result is I'm currently approaching 6 weeks out of work and they don't seem to want to put the pieces together,confirm my verification with IDme and issue my benefits.
They are just continuously throwing obstacles and further demands for information they have collected at LEAST twice.
I don't even want to go into not being able to so much as reach anyone in 2020 when the company I was working for went out of business.
EDD has me running around using resources I scarcely have the luxury of using in attempts to correct the mess they and IDme partnered in creating.
They have dropped the ball in every way,and I suspect "and then some"
I'm seeing zero accountability.
P.S.,I was never given an official statement of denial to use for appeal which could easily be sent to my account.I guess the go green when it's convenient.
Desired outcome: To be paid unemployment benefits due to me and not be subsequently billed for overpayments as I have filed by gross as specifically instructed by EDD.Competent,Transparent and honest employees in government positions would be nice too.

I am complaining about DoorDash for late payment and lower expected wages
Since, I didn't received my payment from March 26- April 2. 2023 last week.
Until this week of wednesday April 5-6. received my late payment and lower expected wages. Supposed my payment options was monthly paid. And received every monday or tuesday. But time, the DOORDASH gave the late payment and lower expected result.
The first time, they said : somethings wrong about the skills reflect problem, and second they sent me the wrong account no, Finally, used to be said : the payment will be transfer to my account during 24 hours and wait for 2-3 business days.
But anyway, my account is almost gone and not enough money for living

I received a Letter of Determination of my unemployment claim stating that I am denied unemployment because I cannot confirm my identity. But I already filled out the appeal form and sent it but I called the appeals office and they can not resolve me on my case that my identity could not be confirmed correctly, they told me to try to contact you to see if you could send me the link again to confirm my identity.
I have all the required documents to confirm my identity I just need to communicate with the edd office but is real difficult I called more than 50 times and same answer "try again later".

Overpayment

I have mailed edd the letter and all the documents needed to provide and I even talk to a representative. Explained him everything and this is what I don't get it. Edd will not send me any documents all the other months starting october that's when I get the overpayment letter and last year $1000.00 was taken off my taxes which iam still calling edd's office and the phone doesn't go through any customer service reps to help me or hear me out. I got another letter that was issued on october 24,2022 saying I still owe $747.43. This isn't right how can I get overpaid and no one there to help. I need my $1000.00 back. Iam a single mum of 2 kids to support. I work 2 jobs already.
Desired outcome: i need my tax refund that Edd took for overpayment back. i send documents twice to Edd.
UI and SSDI
Calling - cant get through because already too many on hold no matter what day or time you try (too many incidents to track dates over the span of two years)
Messaging online they give you a # and claim it will be 5-7 business days... well its been over a year and still no response. My latest attempt was 6/15/22 (its now 1/16/23)
they claim via mail they need to interview you... they never call
they stop payments prematurely and never resolve it relating above issues
then! send you a dispute for thousands of dollars claiming that you weren't qualified (when you were) and never respond to your appeal...
Then, they charge your new employer (not the one that laid me off during pandemic) thousands of dollars illegally and ignore their letters and contact attempts as well.
What in the world is going on. We're personally owed thousands of dollars between my partner and I which results in loss of housing and necessities.
What is the point of this system when you cant get support when you need it?
Desired outcome: I would appreciate someone from EDD to actually respond to my messages or call me.
Unemployment insurance benefits disqualification
I am a college professor/instructor with the Los Angeles Community College District. I have been tormented for many months with unexplained accusations regarding fraud. EDD claims I received income that I never received. The district's Director of Personnel has been trying to help me and has written to EDD on my behalf, but I do not see a way to attach it for your convenience. After the Fall semester ended in December, I filed a new UI claim but no money is going into my debit card. Rather, I am getting messages saying I am "disqualified." This relentless, unexplained duress is affecting my health, especially since I have never been given a coherent explanation regarding the source of the accusation. Finally, what are my options? How can this mistake be corrected? I fear I am becoming a burden to the administrators at the district who are sincerely supporting and trying to help me; yet, I continue to be emotionally and financially injured by EDD with no end in sight. Thank you for any clarification or help you can offer.
Desired outcome: I would like an explanation and compensation for this ongoing abuse and why no one seems able to do anything about it. I would also like to receive my full UI benefits without delay for as long as my benefits last.
I am complaining about how an EDD employee was being disrespectful at San Francisco office
It was the second time at EDD office on 12/12/2022 at about 1:30pm, one of the employees was being rude. It's kind of took me by surprise because I wasn't being disrespectful or load. It was a Spanish looking lady, but she speaks English well. She seems upset or something of that nature. She didn't curse at me or anything but the way she orders me around and explaining things to about prove of residency, she did it in a very unprofessional way. She makes me feel like i was an animal bagging for food and people just kick them to the curve. This lady has dark hair, and she looks like she could be Spanish female with no accent at all.
Desired outcome: I would like an apology from that lady. I am 55 years old and I don't need to be treated like I was some kind of trash.
Telephone Lines and Delays due to incorrect information
I'm filing a complaint against EDD. First and foremost, you cannot get through to a live person; the line either hangs up or if you do get through, the automated system states there are too many users in the queue to call back later which you'll again, never get through. I had to physically drive an hour away to the office in person to take care of items that could've been dealt with over the phone. How would someone that can't drive or have money for gas be able to do this?
After I gave the office the documents they needed, they updated their system, and about a week later, all of my information was reverted back to incorrect information again.
Desired outcome: Fix your phone system for those that cannot drive to an office. Stop creating errors that delay processing.
IMpossible to make contact
It is truly a sad shame that CA EDD is a complete scary nightmare mess. Case in point, today is October 19, 2022. There is no pandemic in progress, there is no statewide catastrophy, yet you can not make contact with CA EDD via phone nor email!
I have called dozens if not hundreds of times. All different day parts and all different days. I have tried all the tips and tricks everyone else has to reach a live person at EDD and failed.
Desired outcome: CA EDD, the entire organization should be heavily fined, demoted, fired, whatever it takes, but they absolutely must make vast improvements immediately.
Customer Service Representative
I had an interivew scheduled with an EDD representative on September 23, 2022 between 8am - 10am. Some rude guy called me at 9:01am from Inglewood, California [protected] and basically was talking to me as if I'm sub-human (very rude, vague and condescending).. basically he was verbally abusing me. When I called him out on his abusive attitude, he said I'm "yelling" at him and then he hung up on me!
I was looking online and noticed this is a new accepted pattern of treatment by Edd agents. Is this what California is coming to? Government agents abusing the public?
Desired outcome: It would be very nice if a kind human being called me to conduct the interview. I will not tolerate abuse!

I have been waiting for my benefit payment for weeks. I have taken all the proper steps like many times before when my payment was normal and came in a reasonable time frame. Ive called and called and called but disability seems to becoming the new unemployment when getting help. A message there’s more callers than they want to help, and hang up. In 10 months I have failed to not hear that message. I can’t email. There’s no one else to help. What do I do? Call the governors office? The payments are every 14 days. I’m going on 25 days. What is the issue? How can a disabled person have such hardships getting helped, or at least getting a hold of someone? I can’t handle the stress and frustration. I submitted claim 4/16/2022 my app was accepted, my doctor submitted a complete claim you can see online and I waited the 7 days for my claim to start paying 04/22/2022. I hear nothing, no payments. In the middle of June I get mail inbox online that more medical info is needed. I contact MD and he completes the 2nd form immediately. I wait further as now I’m in financial jealousy. On 6/29/22 I receive inbox online they need medical certification for the 3rd time. I review account there is no form submitted that

Edd of California
I was assisted by a woman from customer service on June 21st, 2022. It was literally the first time in weeks I was able to get a living person on the phone. The individual stated the wrong doctor, the wrong treatment, and mismatched my extension blaming my doctors office. I was told to wait for a new form. It has taken 3.5 weeks to get this info, and after confirming my info was correct at the doctors office, this poor excuse of a service rep, hung up after a negative suggestion was made! Today, is the deadline date. I pray to god that someone is able to review and listen to the phone call which took 1.5 hours to get through from holding, and see what incompetent, uneducated staff they’re employing. I have since called our state senators office as a contingency plan since every middle class, back breaking worker is fed up with this after busting ourselves and giving our lives up, only to be locked out by the people who are supposed to be servicing and helping us. Call took place on Tuesday june 21 @ approx. 4:00pm pacific time. Hope you find some truth in this and carefully consider the options and who you’re employing, because they do at very best, the most minimal work required.
Desired outcome: I just want my normal paycheck that I’ve been receiving for last couple of months.
Fraud on edd debit card
I started edd for maternity leave with scripps hospital December 2019 and I delivered my daughter January 15,2020. Our Mailboxes were broken into around March.2020 and were then replaced and secured by July 27 2020 with supporting evidence emailed to me from our new managers of the complex. I was then locked out of my old email which caused me to lose access to my edd account. I then tried to contact Edd via Phone Jan. 2021 – March 2021 which was impossible during the time of Covid. By Then I had given up and tried again around June 2021 – August 2021. Finally I was able to speak with a representative at edd September 2021 who made it clear I had to call Bank of America to fix the problem and have them reimburse me of the funds stolen from my account and to then file a police report and fraud claim with edd as well which I did in October 2021 as well and have faxed over those reports. I then had to have a eqifax report done on my identity and freeze my social security number which I provided as well. They then told me my email was found on a fraudulent website. I then Called Bank of America who sent me back to edd to call and have them fix my problem and assured me it was edd who would fix my claim issues. Called edd again And got through December 2021 and they told me the bank was responsible for those funds yet again to call them and hav e them reimburse me and fix the situation and assured me it was no longer Edds responsibility and it was nothing they could do to fix the situation it was out of their hands. January 2022 I had to be logged into my account with help of a Bank of America representative which came with changing my email, new security questions and a new password to my log in information after being successfully logged into my account I was the. Able to See what was being done on my account and I was able to file my first fraud claim with Bank of America and then I received my first edd Bank of America card and actually activated it properly January [protected]. I’ve been at it filing claims, speaking with representatives and seeking help with the issue ever since I’ve received my first bank card sent out in January 2022. I’ve attached the following evidence along with the claims attached which is the police report, Equifax report, fraud claim with edd, my California drivers license and the mailbox replacement documentation from our complex manager and the claims department continues to close my claims within a day-1 week without even looking at the documents due to the timely manner which indeed is there fault. Months and months have went by with lack of help and lack of proper help. I’ve been working on this since October when I filed my police report and still nothing has been resolved.
Desired outcome: I want my full edd benefits replaced and to be helped in a timely manner Ive proven and provided everything I could possibly provided and proven
California disability claim processing time
I want to submit a formal complaint against the California Department of Disability Claims regarding their claim processing time. I had to resign my employment with a local winery because of blood disorder issues occurring on January 14th, 2022. I filed a disability claim on SDI Online on February 4th, 2022, and I had to request a physical copy of a physician's certification form for my hematologist who does not have internet access to submit an online form. I received the form after requesting three times from January 24th through the 4th of March 2022. After my doctor sent the form back to EDD on March 7th, 2022, I received notification on my online portal that the form was received on March 18th, 2022. According to the SDI telephone message, patients are required to allow two weeks for claim processing. I checked my EDD debit card account on April 1st, 2022, and no deposit was received. I called SDI on April 4th, and the representative informed me that the physician's certification form needed time to be typed into the system. I called again on April 11th for a claim update, and to my shock the certification form was not submitted. The representative told me that my claim was put on a critical list, and to expect a benefit deposit by April 15th, 2022. When the deposit did not arrive, I called SDI again on April 18, 2022, for an update. The representative told me that SDI mailed a certification form to my doctor, but I told her that my doctor already returned it to SDI two weeks ago. She told me that this is a different form to certify the physician as an actual physician, and that I would receive benefits once my doctor returns the form to SDI. My question was why this second certification form was not sent to my doctor back on March 18th when the physician's certification form was received by SDI, but I received no answer nor an apology for the delay. This situation prompted me to file an official complaint about the flawed disability claim processing time of California SDI. I have been disabled and unable to work for three months and four days, and my bank account has been overdrawn for a month and creditors have been harassing me for two straight weeks. The most critical issue is that my medication is running low, and I am not able to purchase more medication without funds.
