Sent me a bad engine 2630.00$ wont refund money wont even try to resolve this issue
Ordered an engine for Jeep 2630.00 got an engine and it has a bad knock and valve train problems . they refuse to even try to resolve this. I believe they are as crooked as a business can be . They shouldnt even be able to do business and should be banned from the internet. I just want my money back. They say you have to use the email they send to get warranty but you cant download it, tried another computer same result. I think they do this purpose so you dont get a refund.
Desired outcome: Return my Money
Used engine
Sent me an engine for 2630.00 and it is shot, Wont warranty except on their form on email, but it wont download so you can fill it out, sent it to the mechanics computer and its the same result, wont download. the company said that form has to be filled out to warranty but you can not do it on the computer. sell shot engines and do not warranty them, good way to make money and screw the customer.
Desired outcome: Send a good engine or money back plus money for Labor for installation
Unethical business practices and behaviour
On December 7, 2020, during my sixth or seventh call to this group of individuals I asked to speak with a manager/supervisor. I had been taken in circles and hung up on several times. No one was willing to provide answers about the status of the order. The guy I spoke with identified himself as "the supervisor" but refused to give his name. He told me the engine had shipped so I asked for the tracking number. He could not produce one. I informed him that the individual assigned to answer calls for the "parts" department could not provide a tracking number either and hung up on me two times. I accused the no name supervisor of lying and the sale being a scam. He became very upset, yelled at me not to call there again, hung up on me and then he made the hasty, rash decision to cancel order 363325. Now my credit card company, Chase, is requiring me to pay for a product I never received and for a frivolous restocking fee.
Desired outcome: I would like a full refund.
Received engine
I ordered the engine on 2/20/2021 and didn't receive till 3/22/2021 and they claimed they forgot to ship it. When we checked it we had to replace the intake and exhaust manifolds. The timing chain guides were broken which could have been caused by a bad rod. They claim that none of these issues are covered, meaning the engine was never checked or tested before shipping. I previously bought an engine from them and I had no problems. Now it's going to cost me $2, 200.00 to repair a $1, 730.00 engine. Not good.
Desired outcome: Refund
Engine
On March 15th I ordered an advertised 2006 Kia engine, paid $1, 930.00 was promised I would receive it in 7 to maximum 14 days. On the 18th I called to get a status report, the employee told me that there was no promise of delivery by any certain date, I was switched to another desk and I asked to cancel the order - four hours later another employee promised me that the engine would in fact arrive in ten days but no later than 14 and may even arrive in 7 days from date of purchase, so four hours later the order was placed - on the 29th fourteen days later I spent over two hours trying to get someone on the phone to tell me where my engine was. Spoke to Dale who was extremely rude and condescending - he promised shipment by April 2nd.
I wrote a complaint email to the company relating my experience, Dale called me back and cancelled the order.
I do not know where my $1, 930.00 dollars are or when I will receive them.
These people do not have the engines in stock, they purchase them from junkyards across the country and they do not know if the products are functional at the time.
Sometimes their purchases turn out functional, other times they will just ship whatever out to you hoping you will not bother for a refund - they misrepresent their business, they do not have the products they claim to have.
Dale is rude, obnoxious and vulgar and those are his virtues, don't get me started on his bad side. BEWARE!
Desired outcome: a working engine for a 2006 Kia Sportage or a full refund
bad product, the worst customer service I have ever had.
Ordering was easy but once the engine arrived I began to have my doubts, not to mention that it showed up way later than they said it would. I took off the valve cover to inspect further and the engine was full of sludge and the timing belt was cracked badly. Thinking that I understood their warranty terms I contacted them to tell them my concern and sent them pictures of the issue. They agreed that the engine was bad and told me that they would send me a different one in 2 days. I didn't receive any other contact from them for over a week. At that point my customer contacted me and told me that due to taking to long and the poor quality of the first engine that they no longer wanted to get an engine from that company, they didn't trust them. Finally after several tries and getting hung up on I was able to get ahold of the warranty manager Scott. I told him that he hadn't sent me the second engine, and before I could tell him to just cancel the transaction he said that he couldn't send it until I emailed him permission, which I had 9 times before my customer changed their mind. He then promptly without letting me speak put me on hold. Then he came back and said the new engine would ship out on Monday. Well, I said, my customer no longer wants an engine from you, and I want to cancel the order altogether. Fine, he said angrily I'll cancel the order you'll get a bill of lading to return the engine and then I'll issue you a refund, and then he hung up on me. Now after waiting over a week, emailing them almost daily, and trying to call several times he never sent me any information on how to return the engine for my refund. Finally after a week and getting hung up on several more times I was able to find out that the refund had been issued but takes 7 to 14 business days but they would only be refunding 75% per their standard policy. I asked them why since they sent me a bad engine and she said that it was their policy and that my other option was to get another engine. When I tried to get more information she hung up on me. This one company has hung up on me more than all other hang ups put together in my life. At least it would only be 7 days until I get my refund, or so I thought. The very next day right before their closing time I received a happy email stating that my replacement engine was on it's way and giving me the tracking number. I immediately tried to contact their shipping department and got a busy signal. I didn't even know that still existed. So I called the sales department to try to get it cancelled and they said that they couldn't help me and the shipping is closed, then they transferred me to the shipping department. I left them a message stating that I do not want the replacement engine from them, I want a refund. And that is pretty much where I'm at today. I am a licensed auto repair shop, and I have no idea how that company is still in business. I will probably end up refunding my customer out of pocket for the bad engine, and have to eat over 1000 bucks not including time wasted. DO NOT PURCHASE FROM ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION WORLD OR ANY OF THEIR OTHER SITES. THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF AFTER THEY GET YOUR MONEY.
Desired outcome: I just want a refund at this point, any refund to help cover my losses.
Junk motor
Ordered engine quoted with approx 88k miles, supposed to be pressure tested, inspected, and cleaned, 1st motor had busted wrist pin or rod, 2nd motor had broken throttle body and had ingested broken parts, didn't attempt install, call # get repeatedly disconnected, I am disabled, borrowed money to get this motor, i'm screwed, this company nothing but a rip off
I order a 2003 dodge ram engine 4.7 litre on august 4, 2020.
I gave you the vin number to my truck and told you I have 4.7 litre and 8 cylinder pick up. As soon I saw it I knew it was the wrong engine even my Mechanic said its a HEMI engine wrong engine. So you went to pick it up and the guy that was to pick it told my Mechanic he needed a copy of the sale receipt he did not have it and didn't know he needed it. So I got a copy and gave to him. I brought this on August 4, 2020 to this day the Engine still sitting there wrap up the way it came. I kept on calling for over two months talk to Cindy numberous time until friday October 16 2020. Cindy put with a sale agent and he stated that I order the wrong engine and I have pay shipping and storage fee a total of almost $600.00. I told the man that I order the right engine and gave them the vin number. The vin will always tell you the right engine. Then tells me that they don't go by the vin number this wrong when your paying $2, 395.00 for an engine that does not fit. I will take the necessary measures to resolve the issue. That very wrong what you are doing very Bad Bussiness and I have witnesses to back me up. I and my Mechanic took pictures. If i don't any response soon I will do what ever and this my invoice #356731 I hope Ill be hearing from you soon.
2006 Jeep Cherokee Engine
Purchased an engine on July 24, 2020 and I called the following week to get an ETA for the part and they couldn't tell me when the item would ship out. Once they kept giving me the runaround, I ask that the order be cancelled because we needed to find our customer an engine that would arrive sooner. I was told by John in the "refund department" that I would be emailed a cancellation form and once I submitted the form, my refund would be processed, but it wasn't. I called the following week, spoke to the same person and he told me it takes 7-10 business days to process the refund. Needless to say, that window has also passed and still no refund. I called today, 8/18/2020 and was transferred to Anthony and he was very rude and kept hanging up the phone in my face when I asked him for proof that the refund was processed so that I can forward that information to my financial institution so they can process my dispute and the funds be released back to me. Anthony was very rude, dismissive and condescending. I have filed a complaint with the Wisconsin Consumer Protection Agency, since they are located in Wisconsin and I have also filed a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission, so that the federal government can look into this company for their unethical, unfair and fraudulent business practices.
Transmission
I order a 4l60e transmission for my 1997 chevy astro I found one and cancell my order the next day which was 4/17/2020 they said they cancell my order then a couple of days later said I have to fill out a cancellation form they had sent by email no form was sent I can't get anybody to return my email or by phone i'm getting a lawyer and get my $660.00
Transmission for a 2004 bmw z-4 with smg
On September 12 2019 I entered into an agreement with Engine and Transmission World for a used 2004 BMW Z-4 transmission with Sequential Manual Gearbox SMG
with 62 K miles, order #[protected] for an agreed price of $1150.00 from my Visa card. The invoice number is #340446. They shipped two transmissions the first was for a clutch type auto (which I don't have), the second was 1 and a half times the size of my original transmission could not fit "this came from my BMW mechanic", I then notified E&T world you couldn't supply me with the correct transmission, I am requesting a refund. They said they needed to pick up the wrong transmissions check for damage and then offer a refund. They wanted to charge me for shipping their wrong transmissions, I refused. I have recordings from shipping that said I am entitled to a Full Refund. After two weeks of trying to contact the refund department I finally got a hold of Anthony in refund, he said they will be processing my refund in 7-10 days I am still waiting. It is going on two months without my car, or refund to fix it, this is unethical and totally out of line. I need someone to help me, remember all calls are recorded on their site so this complaint will be easy to follow. Please send me an email stating that you may be able to help Thank you SS

On September 12th 2019, I ordered a used Transmission for a 2004 BMW Z-4 with Sequential Manual Gearbox for $1150.00 My invoice number is #340446 the Quote for the transmission is #[protected]. After waiting two weeks the part was shipped to my mechanical shop it was the wrong transmission, this was for a five speed clutch, we reordered I sent them the (vin. number to my auto) to make sure we get the right one. Today Oct. 2nd the shop called and stated that this is absolutely the wrong transmission it is 1 and 1/2 time the size it should be and no SMG. I have made numerous attempts to clear this up they said they don't ship transmissions with SMG. My invoice says that is what I ordered. At this stage I want my money refunded after 4 weeks of futile attempts.I need my money and my car back and running. There customer complaint number is [protected] ext. 2069. Please let me know the outcome.
Today is Oct 10th 2019 I have yet to receive any comment or financial relief due to the negligence of Engine and Transmission World. I am out $1, 150.00 dollars thru no fault of my own. The second transmission that would not fit my BMW was taken back to the supplier. Attempting to get a refund all I am getting is a runaround, after reading so many complaints concerning fraud and scam, I am sorry I didn't read these complaints prior to doing business with them.
Their are only a few avenues open to obtain my money.

When certified mechanic at auto shop began working on replacement engine, water was discovered in the spark plug holes, engine was found to have many rusted bolts which were unable to be opened in order to complete necessary repairs. Bolts holding valve cover to block were found to be the incorrect size & rusted so badly they were not able to be loosened without danger of cracking the engine block, therefore, making it impossible to replace the valve cover gasket & other internal parts without voiding the warranty on the engine. The engine itself is rusted in many places, appearing in not very good physical condition, aka " a piece of junk". I opened a dispute with credit card company who contacted Scott Green, who on numerous occasions, refused to return phone calls to myself & the auto shop in order to rectify conflict. Very unprofessional. The credit card co., who did the "official investigation" did not do their "Due Diligence" completely & deemed the 1st dispute to be resolved by deciding in Scott Greens favor. Online bad reviews & complaints are quite plentiful regarding the lack of integrity which Mr. Green's company appears to regularly practice by sending out to customers bad, faulty & defective products. How come I found the bad reviews, only too late, & the investigators did not. I have re-opened my dispute with credit card co as it is not ok that I be charged for this faulty, unuseable "refurbished" engine. Customer service is atrociously negligent & the quality of their product was even worse. I was sold a faulty bill of goods.
I desire my credit card be re-imbursed for full payment of charges of faulty engine.
customer service
No customer service. Emails, calls, contacts are ignored until u file a warranty complaint. Then suddenly their customer service springs to life denying warranty. These engines elsewhere can run $600 - $1100. World charged over $1900 while tooting a best in industry warranty? Giant scam and exceedingly lawyer motivated. Can't wait tell "they" explain it to god, sighting the law was on their side? If you have a problem with this company go straight to your credit card company. Explain it to dispute and let the credit card company save you a ton of headaches, finger pointing, and lack of real voice customer service. Until warranty was sought, the two people contacts reached immediately hung up the phone without intake whatsoever. Get your engines out of the deep south. Better people in the bible belt over these shameful northerners thinking business deserves loop holes and finger pointing, along with the highest prices in the business. So there you have it. Buy elsewhere.
replacement engine
I ordered a motor one day and called to cancel the order the next after doing reseach. They told me that they had already pulled the engine and were rebuilding it. New valves, timing chains, etc. After learning this I decided to stay with them, thinking that they were HONEST!. two day later I got an email that they had just pulled my engine into taredown.
Obviously they LIED to me.
I finally got the engine 2 weeks later and it was the WRONG engine. I called them up to complain and they did offer to send out a new one but I had waited for so long I decided to swap out the parts from my old engine to make the new one work.
By the way if I were to get my money back it would cost me 25% to get it back.
Later I found out from my mechanic that the engine has a back cover missing, it had never been apart, and that one of the injectors was damaged.
I have read a lot of complaints on the internet. I feel really STUPID for going them, as I did not do enough research prior. But this company has to go. We all need to band together and run these JERKs out of business.
How the heck can the government let this happen. they control everything else why don't they send these guys to jail. They are criminals.
I encourage everyone to publish as many internet postings as possible to take these guys down. Done be an IDIOT like me and let them take you.
Lets all fight back and take these guys down.
25% restocking fee
This company is not a company you ever want to do business with - ever! They listed an engine I wanted to purchase so I contacted them and bought the engine. Two days later my mother-in-law looked at the same engine I had just purchased on their website and the next day gets an email from them wanting to know if she would like to purchase the engine. They never shipped the engine and after several phone calls I made them mad and they canceled my order and then charged me a 25% restocking fee. When I put it in dispute with my credit card company, they lied and said I was the one that canceled the order. DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES DO BUSINESS WITH THESE POEOPLE! THEY ARE NOT TO BR TRUSTED!
I wrote the Attorney General in Wisconsin and reported them. Have not heard back from them yet. These people need to be shut down immediately. They get away with it because they will not ship your item until you agree to their restocking fee and then they have you by the balls. They have an F rating with the Better Business Bureau. They go under gotengines.com, southwestengines.com and who knows what other names they have out there. They charge your credit card under Engines and Transmissions World. They get away with it because they have so many names you can't keep up with them.
sent me a bad engine
I too, was scammed. These people use so many different names it was difficult to do any research before being scammed.
I was impressed by the warranty and labor. I also agreed to the terms. I ordered my engine.
About 2 weeks later it was delivered to my mechanic on an 18 wheeler with no way to unload it. I had to pay an additional $90.00 to have it delivered on a box truck with a lift.
My mechanic installed the engine and started it. The engine had rod knock. Loud rod knock. It only ran for less than 30 seconds before it was turned off.
My engine was crap! Trash. The company sent me a bad engine. The ad said I was getting a Grade A engine. I got a piece of junk
We called the company and Dale said it was the oil pan - - harmonic balancer - - installed wrong, blah, blah. Mechanic told him rod knock.
Dale also said the warranty doesn't kick in until 500 miles. Mechanic said he wouldn't have driven around the block with this engine. Even though the engine was bad - - Dale said they don't pay labor. Their ad said they did! Their ad said as soon as the engine was installed - - let them know and the warranty would kick in.
My mechanic also told Dale that I researched and the company had many, many complaints against them and Dale said he didn't know that.
Now, I'm stuck with mechanic's fees to install and remove a bad engine. Plus! I have to pay to ship back a bum engine and pay the 25% re-stock fee. AND find another engine have that installed and pay more mechanics fees. All the while these people will pass off another engine to the next guy.
These people are crooks! They purposely send out junk engines knowing they will have to be returned! DO NOT BUY FROM THEM! These people are con men!
Some people have returned the engine only to have it refused and the company keeps ALL their money!
I contacted my bank. They said the legally -- I agreed to the contract. Which I did! But, I only agreed to a good engine. The bank told me to ship it back. Get a tracking number - - they have to subtract the 25% and I'll get back about $950.00. Far, far less than I paid.
I will file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission, Attorney General, Better Business Bureau, the mayor of the city in which they operate, the FBI and anyone else I can find!
Do Not Buy From These Crooks! DO NOT!
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Some people have returned the engine only to have it refused and the company keeps ALL their money!
George Lawrence in a next call promised to try to send me some evidence, e.g. the passport scan of his director (which he stated he has not yet seen, this year) before the end of that week, which he never did. Instead I received a phone call from a person named Brett Fox. He stated that George Lawrence will continue to be my representative, but that he is now taking care of me for the Blackhawk mines transaction as he is working on this for now 3 years, already.
deceptive
We received an email quote for a used transmission for usedqualitytransmissions.com (one of the names the criminal enterprise Engine and Transmission World goes by to fool unsuspecting customers). We called the toll free number and were satisfied with the price and stated condition of the transmission. They took our credit card info and said they were emailing us a sales/shipping contract form for us to sign and fax back to them. It was never received. Our phone calls were always transferred to voice mails or dropped. We finally left messages that we did not want to complete our order because of their lousy service. Our credit card was still charged $1940. Two days later, when we called again to confirm we would not be completing our order we were finally connnected to "John" who stated we would be charged a 25 percent restocking fee for their trouble in filling out paperwork. They credited our account $1455, leaving them a profit of $485 for an unprocessed order. An F BBB rating, hundreds of complaints, a history of deception...PLEASE STOP THESE CRIMINALS WISCONSIN!
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
failure to honor warranty
Purchased a used transmission for a 1995 Lexus 1995 LS400. Invoice included details of 12 month or 12000 mile parts and labor warranty. Transmission failed after 1000 mies. Company denied warranty was for stated interval, though the information appears on the sales invoice for the transmission. Said "look at the website, the warranty is only for 30 days" Then "I've got to hang up now" These guys are obviously crooks.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
scam... wrong product... kept my money
I ordered a transmission and not only did they send the wrong one, they made no effort to help me find the right one or even respond to my inquiries. Their products are awful and in terrible shape. Even if they had sent the correct one, my mechanic would not have accepted it. They will not return my money, respond to emails or return phone calls. The gentlemen I dealt with were John and Dale. What miserable human beings they are. Please do not ever buy anything from Southwest Engines, gottransmissions.com or engineandtransmissionworld.com. I am so ashamed for not doing more research because I am not a stupid woman normally! Some day when their wives, mothers, sons, and daughters fall victim to people like them, they will begin to realize the harm they have done to others.
I would like to thank the BBB of Wisconsin for the speedy resolution to my complaint. I think it is a shame that we must resort to filing against companies but I am so happy that we have the BBB to mediate. Thanks again for your help.
I ordered a transmission from gottransmission.com and they also sent me the wrong transmission, when I called them to try and get the right one they attempted to charge me double and when I told them that was unacceptable and I wanted to return their transmission the warranty guy wanted told me out of the $905 I paid that they would only return $300. He also threatened that if I attempted to take any action against them he wouldn't return any funds, please if your smarter than me don't by from this company! Has anyone had luck with legal or BBB actions? if so contact me at terrence.young@usmc.mil
I have just ordered one from them. Hopefully I will not have the same experience. What was the resolution? Did you get your money back?
