employees locking the door before closing
The family dollar store located in colerain North Carolina 27924. It has been the second time it's happened they are closing 10 to 15 minutes before the posted store closing. The store closes at 10:00 pm and as I was approaching the door the lady runs to the door to lock it and say we are closed I told her the sign says 10 that I have 10 min left and I was simply getting 4 items. And her comment was "they be trippin" I told her she was the one that told me. And she said oh you going to be like that. And there were customers also in line at the time. As they were locking the doors with customers on the inside of the business. not trying to pull the race card or if that's what it was at all but I was of different race . I'm a very frequent user of the store because we do not have a grocery store near by and I own a restaurant down the street so out of convenience I use the store and to also help them stay open I use the store at least 3 to 4 times a day. The employees that use to work in there were very pleasant and nice people but the new people that have started to work and not very friendly and rude. Not very pleased with my visit tonight.

I shop at the store on Ridge Road in New Port Richey, FL. They never have shopping carts in the store. It is not the employees fault it is Corporates fault for not supplying them. four hour class
I am a new employee, its time to take my 4hr class that can be done only on a family dollar computer, and has to be completed before my scheduled work day.I go to a different store to do the class, I was then told that it would be best to go back to the store you were hired for to do so because you have to be clocked in to get paid for the 4hrs, and that I could be terminated for wotc(working off the clock).I then went back to my store to take the class and was told that no need to clock in because we don't get paid for the 4hr class by my manager, I then stated to her that we are suppose to get paid for these hrs and she stated that I won't be doing any work so why clock in, she then stated she has never paid her employees for the class and that I could come back when I am scheduled to work and take the classes, after wasting my gas I then said OK and left the store..My question is, is it family dollar policy to get paid for the 4hr class, or was my manager just getting over?
I'm pretty sure your manager is lying and trying to rip you off. Taking the class is considered work. I've had online training at several jobs, and it's always been on the clock and paid for.

My name is vera oriz and on wednesday the 29 at 400 pm inenteednthe store Nd had grabbed some clay and wentninto the food aisle when barbara jimenez ..wenlive in a small t own and barbara has personal issues against me so much so she cslled my boss and 5old her she did not want to have any dealinngs with me if we provided her sevices.barbara approaches me and adks me if im evrn allowed to be in there...is how she said ir..i said y wouldnt i my sister was also there and told her she was allowed in there also ..wheneber i go to store she always seemed to be following me around ..but not to see what i was doing she starts rearranging and stoxking shelves slamming things part down that you could tell visually that she seems upset she helps them puffs and smacks her lips made it makes me feel very uncomfortable when I went to the store like if she's trying to make me feel uncomfortable to leave...she has never approached me asked me if i was allowed to he there...this happens everytime i go to store and ahe is working... when she asked me if I was even allowed to be in the store I asked her why would it be she said for trespassing warrant for shoplifting I've never shoplifting over there I never have ever been given a trespassing warrant I've been in the store plenty of times and encountered in the manner i desribed before ..she. started yellingg at me about people shop lifting and she was trying to keep the stotes open...she told me if ihad a problem with her to tell her and it didnt seem like a had problem now..i askwd hwr if she was kicking menout or if i was able to conrinue and check out ...she said to do watevee i wanted comtinueing to tell the other employee she font have a problem now..wy8le i was paying for my clay i asked the cashier for the 800 number and barbara came from wher she was at an answered me go out outside and look at the windo urself...barbara has personell peoblems with me and does not want ms in what she screamed at me and said this was her store... she is very rude to me evrytime i am in there .she feeels as if it is her store and she dont like sonshe dont want me shopping in there...she had nonregard for the other xustomers...i also was yelling ..and im also not a representation of family dollar...i do not think that o will go in agai because she really is like a bully in school..thank u for ur time

I was at family Dollar, store #2129 on 11/24/2018 I bought Garland that was buy one get one 1/2 off. they ring up at regular price but I didn't notice until I got home so I went back to the store with my receipt and the store mng Jason Perdul told me that my refund was supposed to be .50 cents. I got 2 garlands at 3.00 and 2 at 1.00 so my refund/ money back is supposed to be 2.00 dollas not .50 cent. well he never got to the register to give me my refund nor my cash back

The way he talk to his employees is not business matters always negative, threatening job everyday. Everyone may scare to talk there he is treating people. We may be the employees, but we respect and feel comfortable where we work. I have been working at family dollar for 20 years. This is the worst I ever seen. Get feedback from the other managers see whose standing in his side.

I purchased a Christmas tree from family dollar northern lights columbus oh. When i opened the box 2 weeks later part of the base was missing. When i tried to exchange it i was denied because i had thrown the reciept away . i didnt know i was going to need it. I had not planned to have to take it back to the store. I had to purchase another tree. This is absolutely not right, now im out more money because of a default in your product. There should have been nothing wrong with trying to exchange a default product for one that was right. Now i feel that i should be compensated for your faulty product which was not my intent . i just wanted what i paid for. Because of this and the rude behavior ive witnessed by your managers i will no longer shop at family dollar. A franchise i have faithfully shopped at in several different towns and states. I am very upset at the way I've been treated at the Hazard, KY Family Dollar Store on Village Lane. Almost 2 weeks ago he was rude The manager Josh about not honoring Marlboro mobile coupons that has their store & address on their website that takes these coupons. I lost a $1.50 off a pack because he said they couldn't get their scanner to work once you use coupon you lose it. He was very rude, they should let you know they don't take them & be removed from Marlboro app that has them listed. Today I went back & purcashed monster java drinks listed 2 different areas in store as $2 a piece. They scan as $2.25 I said you have them as $2 on shelf and he said well I guess you need to take that up with Coke Distrubutor then. I said so Coke makes your Family Dollar Store price tags? He was very rude and I told him this is second time within a couple weeks he has treated me rudely that was very bad business. I've researched online and legally store is supposed to sale price as advertised listed in their location. They either need to take down prices or honor them and have someone who communicate with customers more effectively.

I purchased this speaker beginning of November 2018. It was working fine. I woke this morning November 18, 2018 it did not work no sound only lights. I called the store where purchased and was told as long as I have receipt I can return it. When I got around to store he said we can't except it without the box but I had the receipt. duracell charger for iphones
I purchased a charger on Friday 11/16/18. The manager there mrs Bernice ring me up. It was about 3:30 Friday evening. I went home to charge my phone with the new charger in which I had just paid for. The charger was $8.56, so once I made it home to charge phone 📱 It charged about a lil over 5hrs and it only gotten 40% charge.. so I took the charger back because it was charging to slow. The manager there at that time was mr Eugene he swapped the product out for a more expensive charger which was a Duracell charger and it cost 2$ more. And once this transaction was made I was given a new receipt and and it didn't have hardly anything on the receipt it appeared that the ink was out or something so the cashier named Jessica wrote her name on it and I asked her and mr Eugene both before I exited out of the store suppose I have to bring this product back for any reason what are we gone do about this mid printed receipt. He said tell them to call me and I'll verify it's no problem so with his reassurance I left and went home to use charger again and opened pack plugged charger in and it did not work on my phone it kept making a noise as if my phone needed to be charged and it would pop on and off . So I took that one back to store. Mind u that manager mr Eugene reassured me if problem bring it back no problem. So I'm there at store for refund . He now tells me I can't get a refund I bring my original receipt plus my misprinted receipt and the packaged product in same package and I can't get a refund and not only that the lady Jessica checked and plugged my phone and experienced the same problem as I did when she examined the charger plugged to my phone. And I can't get a refund! R u serious! Even after his reassurance before I left store of the purchase. That's not right if this was going to be the encounter he should have told me when he swapped product out that if u bring this back and so forth. But no info as that at all nothing but no problem. And at this time it's a big big problem. So he said see mrs Bernice in the morning. First thing Saturday morning I got up went to store to get refund from mrs Bernice and she told me I couldn't get a refund either and that it is store policy which I know is a bunch of crap that she have to plug it up on her phone and test it well i don't own her phone and if it works on her phone I can't get my money back. That's the most awful crap I've ever heard and coming from management. I don't walk around with her phone the problem is the charger didn't work with my phone and I'm demanding a refund. I shouldn't be forced to keep a product that does not work for me on my! My! Phone that I rightfully own. And I spent my hard earned money for.. and I want it back I've followed all procedures from product in its packaging and the receipts and oh yeah they kept my original receipt from very first purchase on Friday at 3:30. Talked to both managers and still no refund. I shop in this store all the time almost daily. And this is how I get treated. And for them to be managers this treatment is unacceptable and they gave me some wrong and misguided information. And I will and want my money back ASAP!😡😡😡😡😡. I spend too too much money in family dollar to be treated like this and told lies to. And Mrs Bernice told me she doesn't make the policy she just works there. If that is you all policy which I seriously doubt it then I need to see it in writing about if a charger or something works in her phone but doesn't work on the customer phone the don't get a refund and they have everything that's required to have and still no refund that bologna. And if necessary I will pursue with further actions if necessary. But I hope in regards to my complaint you all would consider giving my money back and issue will be thankfully resolved. And I forgot to mention that I was also told by the managers that if the pack is opened that I couldn’t have a refund. My question is how am I really supposed to know if the purchased product is working or will work on my phone if it’s not opened.? Seriously what kind of management is that?

Yes I purchased a speaker at this store and it stop working so I tried to purchase another and explained to the manager on what happend.She then told me if the new one did the same I could return it.So then it happened again but thus time I didnt want to try another speaker I just wanted a refund.The young lady who was there at the time first told me she couldnt return it.Then when I informed her on what the store manager told me she still argued the fact, so I called their district manager and he spoke with her as well.She falsely gave information out that I didnt have a receipt when in fact I did..She then got off of the phone and rudely said "you can only get a gift card"This was so frustrating. I spent 45 min in this store and will not shop here again because of the rudness and the un willingness to help customers

Tuesday the 13th a friend of mine went to the family dollar on Glen lily in bowling Green. She bought some Halloween on sale for 1.50 per item. She let me know they were on sale. I went first thing the next morning. Drove 20 miles to the store. Had 5 different things to buy. The cashier scanned them and said they were one penny and couldn't sale them to me. That she would have to throw them in the trash. I ask her can't you just sale them to me for the 1.50 each, that is what I had planned to pay. She was very nice but I can't believe your policy states to throw something in the trash before letting someone purchase the item. I will never shop at your store again and I plan to share this information with my family and friends before they waste there time shopping in your store and then not able to purchase the items after all

Harassment and racial discrimination/slandering from store manager
I walked into the store and was looked upon with a look of negative from the store manager at 3:30pm monday 11/12/18. Not sure of her name but was what looked to be early 50's dirty blonde short hair with big frame glasses with white hair band/tie. I said hello and went on with my shopping. Look at good section grab roll of toilet paper and headed to the men's clothes section. I tried on one black hoodie which was too big. I grabbed up a simlar black hoodie put it on to see if it fit. That's when said store manager walked on to the end ale looking at me up and down with a anger on her face for total of 2mins till I asked her "can I help you". She said no. I then said "is there a problem am I not allowed to try on something before buying. She replied"no i'm making sure your not stealing. I told her that's o. K I don't need to steal I have money. She then said "yeah it don't matter I got your kind of people coming in and stealing [censored] all the time". I then took off the black hoodie put it in its place and told her I would take my business else where. And started head to the exit. She followed me right behind yelling at that point where everyone was looking. Saying "get out of my store i'm not letting you"kind of people"in my store stealing" following outside the store and closing the door as if I done something. I was embarrassed and humiliated as if I was criminal or had do something wrong. I called the store the same evening ask for the store manager and when she got on the phone I asked who I was speaking to but she refused to give her name. Otherwise I would have been able to give it in the complaint. I do hope and trust that there was cameras in the store to capture the event and help family dollar with identifying the store manager. I'm filing a civil rights complaint as well as moving forward to hire a attorney for the matter. I don't look at family dollar as a whole in the situation but I feel something needs to be done. I don't feel like myself or anyone else should have to go through that kind of humiliation from your employees while trying to shop in your stores. Or atleast hope you take action on this situation because I would like to continue to using your stores but at this monument i'm in fear of simular behavior from your employees. Intill I know action have been taken against her I will not step foot in another family dollar and will continue to proceed with legal progress. I visited your store #10039 at 2041 Americana Blvd.in Orlando, fl phone#[protected] on Sunday 11-11-2018 at 9:33 a.m. as usual the parking lot was filthy and littered in trash but that's not the issue. Upon grabbing my items and getting in the check out line, I noticed the line was extremely long down the aisle with one register open. I asked an associate a young lady who was fixing the chips, if she could let somebody know or get the manager because the lines are long. After waiting for a few minutes the associate asked me if I could see the manager coming? So I loudly said hellloooo if the manager is here she needs help in the front. A guy came up very rudely and said I'm the manager and it takes me awhile to get up here. I said well sir we just want to check out. He then began going back and forth with me word for word telling me if I didn't have patience there is the door. I expressed to him that I would be calling corporate office and he said go ahead it ain't the first time and it won't be the last. I asked him for his name and his reply was (I forgot my name). After going to my car another customer came outside and told me she heard someone call him (kenny) obviously upset herself as well. I'm a loyal family dollar customer who deserves to be treated with respect, dignity, and customer service. None of which I received on 11-11-2018. This incident deeply saddened me because I was shopping with my young daughter and she witnessed a grown man who's a manager blatantly disrespect her mother. I truly am lost for words and would like some sort of resolution or apology, further more some type of action taken against this employee. I waked in the store without them noticing me and I overheard the manager, sherie, ranting on and on about the "Mexicans " and cussing about why she has to sell merchandise that has to do with the Mexicans This isn't the first time I've heard her . Two months ago I went in looking for some pedialyte and I got the one that was a product of Mexico I believe and I was asked by her to put it back and get an American bottle If I live here I need to buy American she said. Very rude and hateful I have spoke with other people and they have chose to shop at the dollar general now because of her. You're company is losing aloe of customers because of her I know darn well that this isn't the first complaint against her because one of the employees there said she's sleays getting complaints z about her. i went into store to purchase oj noticed employee putting away stock as i walked in. I tried to avoid being in the way moving myself around merchandise, when the employee almost hit me with makeup caddy not even saying excuse me or sorry. I still overlooked that situation and continued to shop after grabbing items purchased i proceeded to counter for check out. Then stood at counter while employee standing in front of me behind register saw me there along with the manager(soyala lopez) and said and did nothing. After patiently waiting a couple of minutes a then said "can i please get some help" manager replied "i'm busy stocking in a very rude tone of voice, then the other employee made her way to the register with no apologize or anything with the same rude attitude as soyala lopez. I then asked her who is the manager of that store when soyala lopez replied out loud in a very disrespectful tone "i am", i then told her she was very rude and i would be contacting the corporate office and that she needed some help on customer service. She then replied rudely "please call my name is soyala lopez " i don't care tone. I have been a faithful family dollar shopper for the last 5 years and have always walked into other stores in different locations of az and greeted with exceptional customer service until today. I'm taking time to write this complaint out of concern for other customers as well as myself so they never have to experience this type of unethical behavior from a store manager or employee . I would encourage someone from the corporate office to check store video to see and hear my "truth" and come up with a disciplinary action for soyala lopez on how to treat a customer and how to be a positive leader as a family dollar store manager. I will follow up if nothing is done will contact better business bureau on family dollar practice on "unethical behavior".

I have sat on the phone for over 4 hours trying to get back on the line with a rep. I wanted my refund with a recipe but the store will not refund me my money. They said they will only exchange for the same item. I didn't know that when I bought the item that it could be returned. I just want my money refunded to me. I shop at this family dollar almost everyday and I have never had a problem before now.
