Price gouging.
Ever since they bought out Gulf Power…my bill has doubled (amongst others) and I'm only 5 days into my next billing cycle. I've done nothing to increase my usage…I have killed the heat…so here I sit, freezing my a** off and still getting gouged.
This is outrageous. There's literally nothing I can do and it's going to get to a point where I can't pay my bill because the only power company holds a monopoly and can charge whatever the f*** they want.
This is highway robbery…and I've already sent emails to my state governor and congressman.
Desired outcome: Bring my f***ing bills back down.
temporary cable for more then 6 months
I have a temporary cable hangin in from of our building for more then 6 months, several calls and no response. One company came and left a new cable tight to our fence, but FPL never came to connect it.
Cable is swinging and we are afraid. Residents are using garage to avoid walk under.

frequent power outages
We have frequent power outages, one now, one two weeks ago and some more, FPL comes give us some kind of explanation: fuse, cable etc they fix it and then one, two, three weeks later…we lose power again.Any ideas what to do? how realistic is to sue this company?
Desired outcome: permanent solution
Road hazard
They've been working on the lines in Graceville Fl. for about 2 months now. I don't understand why they get away with wasting so much time? Most of the time the workers are just doing nothing. College drive is a short road. They're beginning to be a nuisance. For one they don't know how to direct traffic. They sent me into on coming traffic 3 times now. It's interfering with the business at BCF college and other businesses across from us. Something needs to be done to correct this problem.
Desired outcome: Hurry up and finish and move on.
Late fees
In October 2021 my Bank Account was hacked and the Bank's Fraud Dept closed my account but forgot to stop the auto bill pay which kept paying the three companies I made payment to, one being FPL. Finally, the Bank fraud dept closed/shutdown the auto part of that compromised account in last week of December 2021. The Bank (Community First Credit Union) branch manager wrote and faxed a letter on my behalf in December 2021 and FPL Customer service claims they never received the Fax nor the Letter. The letter explained that the error was not my fault, and that FPL should return all associated fees that FPL charged for return checks. FPL claims they have never seen or have the latter. I went back to the Bank and asked them again to rewrite the Letter so that I can send it to FPL, however I cannot find an address for FPL Billing Department anywhere on the NET or FPL website. I do not want to just resend the letter to the same address that lost the original bank letter. FPL should have a secure address for the Billing Dept Supervisor, so that this does not continue.
Desired outcome: Fees FPL charged to be credited back to customer
Power Bill
I have two FPL accounts, one in NE Florida and one in NW Florida. I can access the NW Florida account online, but I can no longer get to the NE Florida account. Trying to link the accounts together, the FPL online system can't find my NE Florida account when I enter my user name, account number, ZIP and last 4 digits of my social security number. My id and password for my NE Florida account no longer works, but now the NW Florida account works fine. I try to call FPL and speak to a rep, or even chat with one, but it is impossible. I need help and I don't know how to get it.
Desired outcome: Accèss to both accounts online
Customer support
All calls from/to 954.620.1742:
Jan 11 - open a ticket online to verify meter reading for our apt.
# ticket 762
Jan 11 - ticket was cancelled
- asked the man to confirm meter was reading 240 volts (2times) which he did confirm.
- called electrician - electrician reading was 213 volts at the meter, the breaker and the induction range input.
- called fpl to open another ticket
Ticket # 1015
Wanted to sevice to determine why voltage is at 213 and not 240 as told by fpl
- fpl tech were supposed to show up the evening - never did or called
Jan 12 - called fpl spoke with acct mgr mr. Billon, rescheduled service for the day
Also called fpl, spoke with a manager ashley, she tells me the voltage is 220, not 240 as I was led to believe in previous conversation with fpl
- scheduled the service for the day... Again (it was 4.15 pm by then) then was told that fpl had access to the building/meter so we could go out for a plan dinner with friends.
- jan 13 - called fpl again for the the very worst support I have ever encountered in my life with account mgr, mr ramirez - id 4051.
I urge you to go through my many conversation with fpl
(after a heated ridiculous conversation with the person, he did not want to transfer me to his supervisor (j. Chavez)
- ramirez decided to open yet another ticket to get service here to validate the voltage [expected and actual]
As per 5.30 pm - no updates/calls from service tech or/and fpl.
Desired outcome: get the proper voltage at the meter level (should it be 240 or 220)

Desired outcome: No more bills
Pole removal
The pole in question has been replaced but the old pole is still standing. It has been like this for 8 to 10 years. There are wires dangling from it and it is in the way of our proposed security fence. The fence can't go up until the pole is removed. We have been trying to get this pole removed for 8 to 10 years but our requests have fallen on deaf ears. We will take it to the county commissioners next. Thank you for your time.
Desired outcome: Please remove this pole.
New service
I was supposed to close on my house on 12/29/2021. The electrical inspection was completed on 12/8/2021. It is now 2:00 PM on 1/5/2022 and the electric STILL has not been turned on.
I lost my homestead exemption for 2022. I have been living in a hotel room for the past 9 days with 2 kids, 2 dogs, and my wife. This is costing my thousands of dollars, and nobody at FPL cares. Every call to escalate gets stonewalled. I don't know when my electric will be turned on.
They told me on 12/27/2021 that the inspection report was lost by the city of Port St. Lucie, and that was the reason for the delay. They reprioritized the ticket to "High", but here we are, 10 days later, and still no electricity. Nobody cares. This is costing my $3 grand and counting.
Desired outcome: Electricity turned on and reimbursed for the expenses.
Connecting Service
I have been trying to get service connected and buried underground to my new home so we can complete construction and move in since October. I have had little to no response in getting this done. I have called and sent numerous emails to Alexander Ramos @ Alexander.[protected]@fpl.com with no response.
Desired outcome: Connect permanent service to my home
your company sucks!
Your company is an embarrassment. It is impossible to get a real person. this should be illegal. Infact, monopolies are illegal. We do not have another choice. Please tell me why real everyday working people, not robots, have to deal with this level of incompetency?
Desired outcome: other options for service
FPL workers caused damage to the land in front of my house.
Starting 12/26/2021 a line pulling crew worked stretching wires from new pole to new pole. The job took 4 to 5 days during night hours (11pm untill 2 am) each of those nights. The heavy trucks they drove were driven back and forth creating a deep indentation in the ground causing a deep and unsafe dip. the trucks were also driven back and forth to close to...

Late fee
FPL should not have been charged a late fee during the last month of my service. Their instructions said the last month's bill would be covered by my deposit. I had a $106 deposit that was supposed to cover for the last month. If they send out 2 bills rather than 1 during the last month, then that's their decision. Also, I received a meagre $1.46 of interest for 7 months and they charge me $5 late fee for a few days, for which they ALREADY had my money. That's ILLEGAL. They need to refund me the $5 to my bank account immediately AND pay me for my time investment in this matter ($50). I will not gift them $5.
Desired outcome: $5 refund plus $50 for my time investment.
Florida Power & Light [FPL] - Late fees
My Bank Account was Hacked into in October 2021 and my automatic bill pay on that Bank Account was never shutdown by the Banks Fraud Department (Community First Credit Union).
The Bank Manager wrote a Letter on my Behalf and Faxed and Mailed copy of the Letter to FPL in December 2021. I am resending a new Letter by the Bank since FPL seems to have never received the first letter and fax. I called and requested an address to the Billing Department Manager. But was told they have none, so I searched the net and found no corporate address or an address direct to a Billing Department or Complaint area. I think because many fees have been charged to my account. Calls made to FPL keep telling me they never received the letter or fax from the Bank. I have no choice but to send the copies of the letter to the only address posted for payment.
intermittent service or many power surges
Board Members,
Constant power surges. 10/29/2021 10 am to 2 pm we have endless surges. Around 1:30 TODAY 10/29 it surgered 6 times in a row, we went and shut down most equipment to protect them. We have 7 AC units, 14 computers and 5 CNC machines. It causes machines to stop mid cut and cause damages to machine and finished parts we manufacture. Computers and AC unites it is also very hard on them. This has caused us many costly repairs over the years. I have called many times for years to FPL help line and nothing really gets resolved. Not sure we are getting to someone who cares or may understand the damage this does to manufacturing customers. I do understand surges will happen but not like in our area. I been told FPL concerders our area residential, but many business near us. Please help. Thank you for your time and attention.

Temporary electric service in my back yard and red paint in my drive way.
I live at 5607 garden lakes dr in Bradenton Fl 34203. A temporary service is laying in my back yard. It was run from 5609 Garden Lakes dr to 5525 Garden Lakes dr. As the original feed to 5525 Garden Lakes dr was damaged. I suspect this job is past the temporary limit? The new under ground conduit run was finished about 2 weeks ago. The sub contractors marked our driveways with paint. Which I can't get off. And my wife and I don't use our back yard. I called FPL and they had a dispatcher? call me. He stated that he would get into the problem. He asked me if the temporary service was over 21 days old. I said over a month. I asked him if he could get the paint removed from my driveway. He stated that was not his/FPL responsibility. He said he would give me a phone number. At that point I wasn't happy. I stated that FPL contracted the job to whoever. And FPL should hold them responsible for the quality of work performed and cleanup. As hopefully written in your contractor agreements. Arthur Mason 5607 Garden Lakes dr Bradenton, Fl 34203 acct #[protected]
Desired outcome: Remove temporary wiring. Remove paint from driveway.

I also am having billing issues. My bill went from $245.00 to $466.00 now the projected bill is over $700.00 this is insane. Nobody can afford these prices. Someone has to step in and do something. I also have shut my heat off with no change in the bill. We had a new roof put on in August. There is price gouging laws in place for certain things surly there has to be something for this as well.
