Florida Power & Light [FPL] Florida power and light Ms Jrajales #3731

Account number [protected]

I paid my bill on the 29th of Nov, via bank draft. Usually the company takes 4-5 business days to pull but this time it was immediately. My check didn’t come in until the 30th at midnight. The payment bounced. I then paid $154 on the 1st of Dec. my past due was $152. On the 6th u all turned my lights off. Called and spoke to Ms Jrajales #3731 she had the service reconnected and said to call back to avoid connection “in the future”. I went to work at 9am and did a double shift. I did not get off work until 11:30pm. I did not call as I was humanly tired after work. THE VERY NEXT DAY MY LIGHTS OFF AGAIN! Called and Ms Jrajales #3731 told me that because I didn’t call there was NOTHING she could do! She basically told me to suck it up. Where’s the humanity? Does this company not understand INFLATION? And that people are out here working our butts off just to LIVE? Ms Jrajales #3731 Should not be a supervisor at all. She has literally no grace or compassion. It’s like the fact that I made a higher payment meant nothing even thought I explained to her all my circumstances.

Desired outcome: I would like this to be escalated. And your company needs to have more tact when turning ppls power off. Ms Jrajales #3731 Does not have the proper compassionate skills to be a supervisor. She is a terrible representation of your company.

Florida Power & Light [FPL] Wiring lying across the ground not on the pole

I lost power about 10/23/22. I was the only person in my town. When they came they said the pole was falling over so they couldnt hang my wires on it. They attached wiring to my electrical meter, ran them across the my yard, under the fence and across my neighbors yard and attached my house to their meter. It is still there 6 weeks later.

There are signs about it being dangerous but I have kids and a dog and its just laying in my yard.

Also the pole is heavily damaged. I wonder which of all the kids around here it will kill when it falls over.

I have not been able to get any answers from fpl. I called and they say someone will call me.back No one has.

I called att also about the pole and they were here and looked at it. No word.

Desired outcome: phone call saying how &when itll be fixed & my electrical wires hanging on a pole not attached to my neighbors house.

Florida Power & Light [FPL] Billing

I was living in lake city fla with fpl as my electric service. I was on budget billing and I was in a rental unit and therefore my lease was up and the owners decided to sell and so I had to move. I had no choice but to move out of the area therefore FPL was no longer my service provider so apparently they had added the balance of the following year of budget billing onto my current finalized bill I don't think that's fair that I have to pay that considering that there is no service provider in my area of that company.

Desired outcome: Take off budget billing out of my finalized bill

Florida Power & Light [FPL] Service repair for underground conduit

I requested a repair service on September 9th with Jessan Jacquet; as of today, 11/29/22, the work is still not done. The email I received from Jessan on 11/23/22 stated work would be performed the week of the 28th but no specific date. I spoke with another FPL rep that claims there is nothing scheduled. I have 4 families that will be displaced if I don't meet my closing dates, and this repair will delay all currently scheduled road work. This work must be completed ASAP and should have been done months ago.

Desired outcome: Immediate service this week

Hello,

My account service address is 12070 Surrey Ave. David Larocco.

I am not sending a complaint but the opposite.

It is Thanksgiving and 2 of your employees went above and beyond to help me

I wish to let you know they are wonderful people who have restored my confidence in FPL during these trying times (Hurricane Ira).

Thank you again

David Larocco

Desired outcome: Power was being restored (2 minutes to 4 hours) While I waited I wanted to send this message.

Florida Power & Light [FPL] Electricity Supply

My electrical bill before Hurricane Ian was used for 3 fridges, 3 TVS. a camper plugged in, well pump, 3 window AC units and misc lights when we weren't there. We are only there on weekends.

Since Hurricane Ian, I only have 3 fans and a HEPA filter plugged in as the house is drying from the flood. We have to replace all AC units, all refrigerators, all lights, well pump, etc.

But, my power usage this year versus last year is higher and there no possible way that can occur.

FPL automated system will not transfer me to a real person to discuss this with. There is no way to reach anyone. Do I have someone else on my account that is using my electricity? I have no idea, they won't talk to me. Did they make a mistake and hook someone else into my meter?

Desired outcome: Talk to me - Did they screw up and add someone to my meter by mistake? Why is my usage above normal for Oct/Nov when I had no power for 18 days in October? Why is my power usage higher than last year when I only have 4 items plugged in?

Florida Power & Light [FPL] Electric bill

My family and I have recently moved into a new house and contacted FPL to start service at a new residence. After hours on the phone it was concluded that a deposit based on the PREVIOUS OWNERS power consumption was required in order to have service. On top of a mortgage, I am now responsible for a 1500$ deposit just to have power. I have called and tried to reason with them in hopes of spreading the deposit out between 4 to 5 payments in order to make it more realistically affordable. I have 2 kids and 1 on the way which is nobody's responsibility but mine, however, the option to make it easier on a struggling family trying to make it was not there. I am not looking for a free ride, free power or any of that, only asking for the means to provide my family with ac and hot water until the balance from just a DEPOSIT BASED OFF OF ANOTHER PERSONS USAGE IS PAID. I was told after all of this that there is financial assistance available but was not told how to go about finding it. What I can understand is why I have to go through someone else other than the power company to resolve this. What is the power company losing by setting up a payment plan so that me and my family are not without power? Help please!

Thank you, Ian

Desired outcome: I would appreciate it if I could be set up on a payment plan to pay the required deposit while paying for our usage of monthly power.

Florida Power & Light [FPL] FPL employee/ line worker

I would like to report a FPL line worker who brings his bucket truck home daily, he either parks his truck in his driveway or half way in our roadway. He reports to work and then comes back home and sits several hours, never really ever leaving to do any work. He then leaves his residence when it’s time to clock out. This has been going on for months! I do not agree with this and I have had enough! FPL has constant rate hikes, while their employees are just sitting at home getting paid. I know for a fact that he is on the clock, as he has his uniform on and his work radio on his side but yet always home. If something is not done regarding this FPL line worker milking the clock and scamming peoples hard earned money, I will have no choice but to contact PSC and report this situation myself.

There are FPL employees that are working hard for their money while this guy just sits at home and gets paid!? Address of FPL line worker is

205 9th Court Vero Beach Florida. This is where he sometimes parks in his driveway or on the side of the roadway of 2nd Street near his residence.

Also, He looks like the very similar to the FPL employee that previously resided at 325 14th Avenue Vero Beach Fl. If this is the same employee, then he has been doing this for years not months!

Desired outcome: This needs to be handled with more than just a smack on the wrist. This needs to be taken seriously. There are people whom are on a fixed income and can barley afford to pay their bills.

Florida Power & Light [FPL] Lewis tree service breaking patio tiled floor, wooden fence, sprinklers, electrical outlets and tubes, cement tree borders.

Within a 3 month time frame Lewis Tree Service has caused damaged to my property twice. First damage Dec. 30, 2021, They work with negligence. I'ts not possible in 3 months damage has occured to the same property. Second incident April 2, 2022 was the last incident It's been 7 months and still is not resolved. I have contacted Carolyn Tasker at Lewis Tree Service and she does not answer emails, or calls anymore. Lewis Tree Service Insurance Co. (esis Ins.) is involved and assigned (esis involved June 1, 2022 2 months after the incident) their own adjuster CRAWFORD Co. (Aug. 31, 2022 scheduled appt.) and still nothing has been resolved. At different times I have requested from Steven Eskridge a copy of the report from CRAWFORD Co. done on my damaged property and I have not received anything. I think I am intitteled to a copy because its my home, my house that Lewis Tree Service Company has caused damaged too. On Sept. 12 I got an email from Steven D. Eskridge saying that he is currently reviewing the investigation report internaly from his assigned adjuster (CRAWFORD Co.) and that his review is not complete that he will respond to me by the end of this week (Sept 16). I have explained Lewis Tree Service and their insurance co. esis that it's been 7 months since the incident and NO answer. Several times I have mentioned Carolyn Tasker from Lewis Tree Service, and Steven Eskridge from esis Ins.co. that every year I decorate my yard for X-mas and do family gatherings and with their delay I wasn't going to be able to do it this year. Lewis Tree Service has caused me huge inconvenience with their negligence. Lewis Tree Service very negligent, and do not care about FPL's customers and what they do to their properties or how long it takes to finalize the damage they caused.

Desired outcome: Resolve all damaged caused, property, time, stress, inconveniences. Not deel with Lewis Tree Service again. Not reputable Co. nor Ins. Co.

Florida Power & Light [FPL] Unauthorized use of electricity

I am writing as a concerned customer of possible theft of electricity at a home occupied by squatters in the subdivision/neighborhood (The Woodlands) that my mother owns a home in and I reside with her.

There are seniors that reside alone in this subdivision that are scared to report this information because they do not feel safe and I’d like to know my name is kept confidential.

I was personally told by someone squatting in that house that they don’t pay for water or electric and know how to bypass both and not pay for either. And I do not feel it’s right to not share this information when we all as citizens in the community keep our responsibilities.

The address is 30 Black Hawk Drive

Palm Coast Florida 32137

Desired outcome: If this is being done that it is taken care of and stopped

Florida Power & Light [FPL] Made my adult daughter cry and gave me high blood pressure

We have had fpl service for quite a few years. In 2020 I became a widow, lost my job, and my home all withing a few months. I did not have any credit history so I could not rent or buy a home. So myself and two kids took the 20,000.00 that I made from the sale of my house and bought a camper and storage shed. Since then, we have been living in our camper. We have had to move to Palm Coast. I have worked hard to get my credit good. I was just able to buy a new, used rv that was bigger so we each had our own space and my daughter and I didn't have to share a bed. But, that meant that we moved 10 feet over to the campground lot next to us. That move cost us over a thousand dollars. We were hit with a deposit fee that was unbelievable. I have been trying to get ahead and as a result of everything that I have been going through, my blood pressure has risen, and I have had anxiety attacks. The stress has been so bad that my eyesight has been affected. I had to let my 23 year old daughter take over the payments of the electricity because of so much stress. Yesterday, our payment was due, when my daughter tried to pay the fpl bill, she could not get it to go through. She tried to contact a person and of course, it was impossible. Today, she finally gets through to someone and they showed her so little compassion that she is in tears. We now have to max out our credit cards which is for our emergencies and nearly empty both my kids and my checking account just to pay this bill. We were set up to pay the deposit and because she couldn't get through to anyone, she missed the payment. So, in a way, it was our fault, but the compassion would be nice.

Things happen. And who determines the amount of the electric bill? Remember, I live in a camper, not a home. In our previous camper, I kept telling fpl that something was wrong with the amount of electricity being charged. When the new person moved into our old camper, he finally got someone to come out and look. they ended up replacing the meter because it was broke. His electric bills have gotten lower. Something is not right and there should be some way to speak to a person easily. And it shouldn't matter that I am a widow woman and he's a man. That is discrimination. I would like some financial grace since I have been paying more than needed because of a broken meter and now we have an astronomical bill because I moved 10 feet. This is not right. I did not need to set up a new account, I just needed to change the 7 to a 5 in my address. It does not cost over 800 dollars to switch those two numbers in a computer. I am angry that my daughter cried, that my health has been affected and that I have been discriminated against because I am female. I want this system fixed.

Desired outcome: some financial grace since I have been paying more than needed because of a broken meter and It does not cost over 500 dollars to switch two address numbers in a computer. I want this system fixed.

Florida Power & Light [FPL] Changing my name

Since the first week of September, I have been trying to update my name on the website. I could not change my last name on my profile online. I submitted a name change request through the mail. After calling FPL 3 times to check on the status I mailed a second request certified. I immediately received a response indicating the form of ID I submitted was not a "photocopy." Yes, I sent a scanned image that I reprinted. I resent the form with a "photocopy" on 10/6/2022 (rough date) - unfortunately, I did not send this certified, and I wish I did. I have not year heard back and my account information has not been updated. I have tried calling the support number to transfer me to the positive ID department and I've been disconnected 3 times today. I'm told that FPL checks name against credit reporting. All of my credit cards are in my current last name. This procedure for name checking is not accurate and shows a huge system error with FPL. I need my name updated so I can fill out my solar application. It seems to me that FPL doesn't want to make people's lives easy to switch to solar or update their personal information.

Desired outcome: I'd appreciate it if someone could update my name on my account.

Florida Power & Light [FPL] electrical wires within touching distance

From the recent Hurricane, my electrical wire coming into the house is hanging low and in touching distance. FPL doesn't want to help because some little branches are touching it. Told me to hire a certified contractor(which I can not afford). Won't even come out and look at the problem.

I guess I'm going to have to cut the branches myself and hope I don't get killed.

Desired outcome: Fix the low hanging wire

I feel I am being ripping off, and over charged.

I feel budget billing is a scam. Just average your bills.

I finally asked. To be connected to a rep, as I have a heart condition.

Florida Power & Light [FPL] Accounts receivable

I mailed two payments to FPL on October 10th, in the same envelope to save postage. One of my payments was posted correctly. The other one was not.

I received an email today, telling me that my bank had "returned my recent payment" due to "unable to locate", and that I was being charged a $30.00 service fee.

I called my bank; they did not have the check.

I called FPL, and after waiting for about thirty minutes I finally spoke with a young man who told me that I had made an online payment that failed.

I had not attempted to make an online payment.

This error was clearly made in your Accounts Receivable Department. I'm going to assume that my check was handled incorrectly, perhaps even misplaced or lost.

I would appreciate someone investigating this for me, because I have absolutely no intention of paying that $30 fee.

Desired outcome: I would like a knowledgeable person at FPL to investigate this incident and contact me about it.

Florida Power & Light [FPL] A deposit put on your account

Please remove this deposit that was put on our account. My husband had a aneurysm in his leg as a result if covid. He wasn’t able to work for months. We continuously have a bill each month nearing $300. This has been a struggle to pay each month but it gets paid. Last month Sept 16th we paid $291 then were billed $253 for the end of September with an additional $370 deposit added on. This is nearly 1 thousand dollars in less than a months time! We cannot afford this please remove this deposit. We signed up for autopay and were told the deposit would be waived.

Desired outcome: Please remove this $370.00 deposit. We cannot afford to pay it.
