deli dept
I'm very disappointed on how I was treated today in the deli Dept. My issue was that I arrived at the deli dept at 8:45PM, asked the employee is SHE could assist me and I was told verbatim "we close, close to 9PM we staring cleaning so that 9PM we are ready to close" Made no sense at all. I know we all want to leave work when it's close to closing time. But as a mother of two and on a schedule myself I felt so frustrated let down by her carelessness in others time not just hers.
truck deliveries
Trucks driving over limits and in the truck prohibitited lane with heb markings. I am aware other trucks get away with it and particularly nafta trucks with international markings do not abide to our laws. But heb trucks have been involved in vehicle accidents running over vehicles in the san antonio and new braunfels area and continue to drive in the no truck lane and without regard to auto safety in the area. There are other trucking companies who never drive like that. Heb is a disgrace and killing families
horrible customer service
I have been an HEB customer since I moved to Houston, Texas 17 years ago. Yesterday (8/4/2017) I sent some money via Western Union at HEB store #575 at the corner of Bellaire and Hwy 6. Today I went and requested for the name of the beneficiary to be changed. The employee at the Service department told me that he had to call Western Union which he did. He waited on the line for more than 20 minutes. After speaking with a Western Union representative he was frustrated for being unable to complete my request. After hanging up the phone I was told to come back in another time, because another call was going to take another 10 minutes. When I refused to do it, he told me that he was doing me a favor, then asked me if I wanted to speak to a manger. When the manager came (she was wearing a badge with no name on it, a tall lady with complete white hair). This lady did not know what Customer Service is. Did not apologized for making me wait for more than 20 minutes, she just came and told me that I had to call Western Union myself. I tried to explain to her that I had paid HEB for this service. She literally grabbed the phone and said, here it is, we are already calling Western Union "you" tell them the reason why you want to change the beneficiary. Not wanting to deal with such a rude manager, I got my documents and left. Here I am, trying to understand why a prestigious store as HEB has such a disrespectful lady as manager.
unethical behaviour
Location of where incident took place was at the Valero corner store located at 4507 Rittiman Rd. San Antonio Texas 78218. I pulled into the location and went inside to get a couple of things. Moments later I went outside and witnessed a black mustang and a white car with Allied Universal logos on the side. Both vehicles were parked on the side of the parking lot away from the other vehicles in the parking lot. As I got closer I saw officer Root which appeared to be talking to the individual inside the other vehicle then I witnessed what appeared to be a drug exchange. At first I was unsure of what was going on until Root dropped the small baggie on the ground. As I walked past I saw Root bent over picking up the little baggie, with what appeared to be a clear crystal substance with the same texture and consistency as methamphetamine. She abruptly picked the substance up and placed it inside her pocket. As I walked past her, to get to my vehicle she made a threat towards me. I don't remember what was said because at this point I was in fear of my life and safety because of the illegal activity I had just witnessed, and one never knows what a drug addict or drug dealer will do to conceal their criminal activity. I didn't know if Root or the drug dealer had any weapons on them. I was just shaken up by the whole experience and scared. The only reason I identified Root was because of the name badge she was wearing that I saw when she got up and was facing me by this time. I just wanted to make it to my car and leave the place before I got physically attacked by Root or the other person in the vehicle.
The complaint was for HEB but the location was a Valero, and the Person/people was an Allied Barton group. HEB was no way involved.
So, you are saying you condone this illegal activity of HEB employees or subcontractors using drugs while at work. Just because it's not an HEB employee or on HEB property doesn't it still makes it an HEB issue. Just saying so wouldn't HEB be willing to take care of this issue as soon as possible.
butcher
Requested a Boston Butt, to be cut for me, the butcher Leo flat out told me NO very rude, 2 months ago I had requested this to another guy, he said no problem, I have issues with my right hand, if not I could do this, but this butcher Leo Was rude and said no, I asked for a manager the mgr came but not before talking to Leo, then Mgr said he could do it for me, but for $1 per pound for me! This is plain wrong, I spend $200 cash per week here. This will be last visit here!
hill country fare canned green beans packaged in mexico
I opened a can of green beans for a quick snack. Did not cook them just began to eat from the can when 3/4 of it was gone I began to choke on something hard that became lodged in my throat. Luckily someone nearby hit me on the back to dislodge what appears to be a 2 inch by 1 inch vertebrae bone. Guessing rodent as I doubt chicken and green beans are packaged in the same building. It was very dark in color, the vertebrae. Scary couple minutes to be choking, but the mortification of what I was choking on was worse. I am absolutely disgusted. So many reports on this company regarding customers finding things in their food makes me wonder why the FDA has not stepped in and shut these packaging plants in Mexico down due to health violatons. And why the hell does HEB have packaging plants in Mexico, where obviously they are not as stringent and not have these plants on USA soil where they can be strictly watched! Disgusted with the whole company. Luckily I had help. What if it were a toddler or an elderly person alone? We as US citizens should not have to worry about losing a life over a can of green beans which obviously is not being regulated for product freshness and safety at HEB. I filed a report with the FDA and HEB and will also file one with the health dept.
racially profiling by daniel palacos (front end manager) corsicana store
At 5:16 pm, on June 29, 2017, after I had paid for my items, I was exiting the HEB store. I was immediately stopped by Daniel Palacos (not sure of spelling for last name), front end Manager; he asked to see my receipt. Daniel read every item on my receipt before handing it back to me to see if I had paid for my items. I only had 14 items; other customers around me had baskets full of groceries. I was the only person stopped and receipt checked. Then he asked me if I was upset that he looked at my receipt. I stated, "Yes, because he offended me since I was the only person asked to show a receipt." It implied that I hadn't paid for my items. Many people with full baskets of groceries were passing by, but he didn't stop any of them, just me. After he returned my receipt, he continued to harass me all the way to the door. I asked him four times to get away from me; he did not. This infuriated me. I am a retired school counselor with 38 years in education. Currently, I am the Director of the Head Start program in Corsicana. I was dressed professionally, having just come from work. No one should be subjected to this type of treatment. I have not shopped at HEB since for fear of being harassed by this man again. If Daniel's behavior reflects HEB's policies and procedures, it demonstrates that all customers will not be treated equally. They will be racially profiled as I was. If Daniel is going to continue representing HEB as a manager much training in customer service is needed. To sum up, I am requesting a written apology from Daniel and your assurance that all customers will be treated fairly.

hill country fair cream of mushroom reduced sodium soup
I made a green bean casserole tonight using Hill Country Fair Cream of Mushroom Reduced Sodium soup. I always use Campbells but due to a loss of income I went with the cheaper generic option. My 18 year old daughter ate a few bites when she got a hair in her mouth. The next bite she spit out a "hair filled object". I will attach pictures. This ruined our entire meal as it grossed all 6 of us out. Needless to say I'm sure I will never buy this product again and it's making me question the sanitary practices of HEB. I'm hoping my daughter doesn't get some sort of food poisoning from this.
rotten food
I went to your heb store on1534 wells branch parkway pflugerville, tx 78660 and purchased asparagus. I bought it on tuesday and just opened it now on thursday to serve for dinner. It was rancid and I will be returning it tomorrow morning.
I write as this has happened to me several times in the last couple of months. I have returned steak that rotted promptly, a rotten watermelon and even an empty lobster tail.
I find is disheartening that I am now going to have to drive to round rock, tx to get descent produce, meat etc.in sprouts or randall's as I cannot trust the quality at heb which is walking distance from my home.
I sincerely hope that you up your standards at this heb as I truly have never seen such poor quality as I do in this store.
customer service
Harlingen tx expressway 83 location. I love the food selection but the customer service is seriously lacking. Im pregnant and each time I come ive had to bag my own stuff. I dont usually mind doing it. But when an employee (didnt get her name, she had short boy cut hair) and a manager by the name of esmi are right behind me chatting away. And dont bother helping me or getting someone. I know they had to have noticed me bagging. That gets me upset and I start writing reviews. On my way out the manager esmi was still on her phone. She did make the effort to look up from her phone and say "have a good day or thank you" one of those I was too upset to respond. Maybe she was using it for work related things, maybe she can use her phone idk. But common courtesy goes a long way. That's all I ask.
The photo I provided was of her moving away while I was still bagging. This is her looking away from her phone at someone else who was probably bagging too. The second pic is of my hand bagging my last item. I didnt want to make it obvious. It just needs to be fixed. I stopped coming to this one as often and its because their customer service is usually pretty bad. I come because I love the food selection. Heb on commerce in harlingen is always great customer service but its a smaller selection so I rotate.
heb cashier
We shipped at HEB in lampasas, texas and was treated very rudely by a cashier, she was rude to my daughter about using her WIC card, after exposing to her we were using wic, then she proceeded to pack our groceries and when we told her we had two baskets to use she seemed to get mad and said she would pack them later. My grandchildren then asked for buddies bucks and she said she was out instead of giving them some from another cashier. We a re from lampasas and have never been treated this rude by anybody in this store. The cashier's nametag was Christy an older woman on checkout 5 around 8:30 pm. I prefer HEB over Wal-Mart but not to be treated like we are not welcomed in our own hometown store.
business center at heb plus (san antonio
The HEB Plus at McCreless shopping center has to be the absolute worst line for our elderly & disabled members of our community to painstakingly wait.
The only thing more aggravating than seeing an under staffed business center, is seeing management do nothing to improve the situation. The people waiting in line often extends beyond the empty space the IBC bank once occupied.
This has been an ongoing situation, with management clearly avoiding eye contact with frustrated customers. A business center designed to have 7 employees assisting customers, but typically no more than 3 employees at any given time.
I praise the small group of employees left to handle a large scale of annoyed customers as it's clear they're doing more so than their own supervisors.
discriminatory behaviour
I got to bellaire h‑e‑b, 14498 bellaire, houston, tx 77083‑7520, corporate #575 to buy money order on a busy saturday morning, 07/01/2017. went through the extremely long line at the customer service, then finally it was my turn.
Tawana: how can I help you
Me: I need to get a money order for $970.00
Tawana: do you have your id
Me: I have my military id and paper copy of my new driver's license which I renewed yesterday.
Tawana: we do not accept any id except driver's license
Me: that's incorrect my paper txdl and military id are legal documents
(I left and then came back, refusing to accept the obviously wrong claim, after waiting through the long line only to be denied service for frivolous reasons.)
Me: please what's your name
Tawana: tawana, if you like I can call you a manager.
A white lady comes about 3 minutes later, walked passed me as I greeted her, she walked in and spoke to tawana who briefly told her what the issue was.
Me: good morning ma, are you the manager
Sue: yes I am... without asking me what the problem was, she begins to address me based on what her associate told her,
Me: (I interrupted)... ok ma, this is what happened... (before I could complete my statement, she interrupts me...)
Sue: are you going to let me speak... we do not accept any form of id,
Me: this is a shame, this is how heb loses money
Sue: it's not heb, it's western union. (raising her voice in front of customers and other associates... everyone looking on)
Me: (feeling humiliated for no reason) can I have you name please
Sue: it's sue (pointing to her name tag)
Me: mumbling, I can't believe this, treating me like I was a criminal, when all I want to do is buy money order.
Note: nobody at one time asked me if I wanted to pay with cash (which was the case), even though I had government/military issued photo id, I do not however thing it should matter if you want to buy money order with cash.
You have you videos to peruse as roof.
I've patronized heb and motivated others to do same because in my own perspective, i'm patronizing myself. I believe this kind of treatment is unacceptable to our shareholders, quality employees and more importantly the customers. today I ended up getting my money order at walmart which is less than 2 minutes drive down the road. how much are we at over 380+ heb stores, does these little monies add up that we lose, more so, how many more customers will we lose before we address issues like this. at heb every fy dues to issues like this.
I'm displeased, I feel completely and publicly humiliated, I feel it was prejudice based on initial profiling because from my accent i'm obviously nigerian descent... a nigerian-american who is well educated, and happens to be the ncoic of his bulk fuel distribution platoon in an aviation battalion, who happens to train and lead hundreds of soldiers to become enviable kings of their own destinies.
Please fix this. thanks.
prepaid card
Per Terms and Condition Policies the 7.95 monthly fee should be waived with direct deposit. At first my fees were wavied. Now that a 3rd party from India is handling it they are charging monthly fee. Contacted them on the [protected] and a rep from India answered and stated no they are not waving the monthly fee. So they are pocketing this fee from all HEB NetSpend users. I've had my card for over 2yrs. No notices from netspend about any changes. Finding another prepaid card with no monthly fees. My direct deposit is more than 1000.00 per month.
Hi, We regret to hear about the issues you experienced with your account. If there is anything we can do to assist you, please feel free to contact us at social@netspend.com. Thank you, Netspend
customer service
On 6-26-17 I was at an HEB in Mexia Tx when I notice while at the register after he ran my items through the guy that was about to take my money had his hands in his pants adjusting himself. Wtf... really? I laid money up there and didn't take my change just left. He wasn't going to hand me change after that. Didn't sanitize or nothing. Beyond nasty...
cranberry harvest mix
Date of incident: 06/28/17
Phone number: [protected]
Details of incident: I was eating from my supply of cranberry harvest for the first time which I purchased 3 days ago when I realize something was moving in the bag. On taking a closer look, I realized it was a worm. It was very disgusting to observe since I have purchased this many times before. I would never be comfortable buying this again. So I took a video of it which is provided bellow.
houston blend coffee
This used to be such a fantastic tasting coffee but a few months ago I noticed the flavor was not the same as before. It lacks the unique flavor it had. I have continued to try it over the past few months hoping it would improve... it has not.
If there was a change in the roasting process I suggest change it back. I am buying much less frequently and when I do buy it it's in smaller quantities and for taste testing only. Others in the household have also noticed the change in flavor.
In fact, it used to be so good I had to send some to my cousin in Germany.
Thank you.
beef patties/ not wanting to carry out groceries
I'm from Odessa Texas. I've shopped HEB in Odessa for years and can honestly say I've never had one bad experience at either store.
I recently moved to Three Rivers Texas and the first thing I did was look up the closest HeB. It happens to be in Kenedy. Every week for the past four weeks I spend between 125 and 200 dollars on groceries at the Kenedy HEB. Last week I was horrified at the 25% off hamburger patties in the meat department. I actually took a photo of the package because I could not believe that product was being sold at any store. Ive never felt like HEB was unsanitary in any way. Now I worry my meat from their is not up to par.
Each week I have to ask if someone will help me get my groceries to the car and each week the sackers try to avoid taking them out. I've had to bag my own groceries, the cashier did help. I'm just completely unimpressed with the store in Kenedy. If I were to point the blame I would have to blame the HEBs in Odessa for spoiling me.
heb shake rattle and bowl southwest salad
As I was eating this salad, I noticed a dead ant (quite large) in the bowl. Luckily I looked down before putting this bite in my mouth. That means the hygiene and sanitary conditions this was prepared in are less than adequate and is concerning for any HEB branded product. I buy 5 of these salads a week. Needless to say I won't be anymore. Let alone any other item that was prepared in store.
about a manager
Hello my name is Diana I have always shopped at H-E-B. I currently went to store number 04/069. The reason for coming to H-E-B is because of the customer service. My daughter loves the buddy bucks and saves them for 4 years. She has won numerous times on the instant winner. Every time we win we usually just ask someone and they bring her the prize. There was a long line and my daughter wanted her prizes I spoke to store manager Zack and he told me I needed to wait in line. This has never happen to me I had to wait in line 30 min since my daughter would have cried. During my wait I witnessed your manager went to the self service cashier station and was having a conversation and laughing with employees. This is ridiculous and something should be done. H-E-B is know for great customer service. As a manager he should be the example.
