I called customer service and talked to one Katheryn (spelling?) lassinger or Lassiter in the florida office. I asked her if she could reduce the price of the PLUS service that is an add-on to the free service that will populate the 2016 information on your 2017 taxes. She said she was not able to discount it. I told her that the year before i only paid 20.00 and could she please give me the same price this year. She got ALL my personal information and at the end she did not say a word. She led me to believe she could assist me with getting a discount but when she finished probing me i asked her if she was able to do it ? she said DO WHAT? I said the discont for the plus service. She said "oh, no, I dont think we can do that" I said then why did you ask me for all my personal information if you had already given me the answer. She was immature, unresponsive and not helpful at all. I hope you are listening in on these phone calls, im sure you can find better people who are serious.
h&r block scheduled appointment
On 12/28/17 I had set up an appointment to go to H&R Block to file a Emerald Advance, The lady I had the appointment with never showed up and they wouldn't even honor my appointment because it was made on line., The receptionist said no one knows what to do since the last day was the 29th.
Thanks for letting me know, I will never support them and make sure people know how you get treated.
customer service experience
Today I went in for my scheduled appointment at H&R Block off Stassney Lane in Austin Texas. When I had scheduled the appointment there was no indication of requirements for example needing to be employed. I went today to apply for an Emerald Advance because last year after filing my taxes I was able to get an Emerald card. Since I don't work for H&R Block and never have I had no idea they were different. Seeing as I received the card last year I thought it would be worth my while to go in today. When I came inside the H&R Block off Stassney there was no one at the desk so I sat in a chair and waited to be noticed. Only about three minutes went by before this elderly lady came around the corner. She very rudely asked, "Can I help you?" I informed her I was there for a scheduled appointment at 10am. She asked me my name only and went behind the front desk I guess to double check. She came around and said "Right this way." I went to her desk area and she immediately asked, "What can I help you with today?" Again in a very rude and aggressive tone. I informed her that I had set up an appointment to get information on the Emerald Advance letter I had received in the mail. I presented it to her. She abruptly asked, "Okay, where are your pay stubs?" I'm sure I looked confused and I informed her I was a single mom and no longer working since I will be having a baby in a matter of weeks. She very rudely told me, " It's required you have a job for the Emerald Advance, " as if I was supposed to know this information already. She grabbed the letter I had received from the mail and said, "See. It says right here to bring these items, " and she listed them off as if I couldn't read. Nowhere on the paper did it state it was required to have income/employment. As stated above I do not have knowledge of the different benefits offered from H&R Block so I did not know there was any difference. I felt so poorly treated by the lady that took my appointment. She treated me like I was trying to scam why way into money or something. I abruptly left feeling very unwelcome and disappointed in the whole experience. I do not plan to give H&R Block my business again due to this experience. I hope that the person that treated me the way she did today does not continue to treat customers this way.
tax services - horrible
My husband and I "filed" our taxes with H&R online, our first tax preparer was a person named Jean Freeman. Then it got sent to Robert Cook. We filed our taxes on April 28 2017 and chose to receive our refund through direct deposit. By November 1st, we had not received anything and we emailed Robert Cook, he checked the status and said they were NEVER SENT! He asked for us to approve it online again, which we did. We emailed him letting him know of our change of address and asked to follow up with us. He did not follow up. My husband left a long voicemail to complain. Robert then left us a voicemail saying he is waiting on our approval of the forms. Which we did the day he sent them! We have emailed him and called and left voicemails since November and NOTHING from Robert Cook. Not only has this been a stressful situation, he has failed to communicate with us. This is ridiculous, we paid for services that were never done! Tomorrow is December 1st, everyone will begin doing their taxes for 2017 and this unprofessional has failed to resolve THEIR mistake.
emerald card
I have had an Emerald Card from H&R Block for at least two years. I haven't had a problem until I recently wanted to check the balance (I haven't used the card in over a year). Unfortunately, the automated system and the website both say that my information for my card does not match their records. How do I speak with a live person to figure out if possibly my account was hacked? I provided on the automated system the last four digits of my card and my ss# (which never changes) and on the website I provided my user name (which I had emailed to me from H&R Block) and my pin (which I know was correct).
All I'm trying to do is figure out if I have anything left on the card or not.
tax prep at local h&r block office
My state taxes were prepared at a local Wesley Chapel FL office. Once home I reviewed them realizing they were incorrect. I returned to the office to get them corrected. The office manager N. Wolfe was CLEARLY CLUELESS as to how to prepare the taxes. She didn't bother to attempt to find out, educate herself, pick up the phone and ask someone. I asked for a refund of the prep fee. She refused. She did nothing to correct the error. She showed total disregard for me and my hard earned money. I was just dismissed and left on my own to figure this out. I contacted Block Advisors with my paid receipt. Taxes were corrected without hesitation by a true tax professional. I would have lost over $1000!
tax preparation and the piece of mind agreement
I had my taxes filed in 2015 and 2016 at the Ridge Road H and R Block in Dallas, Georgia. 30157. When I had them done I took out the Piece of Mind Agreement with it and I took all my information and I received back pay from the Social Security in 2015 which I gave her the paperwork for. She told me that she will split the back pay into the years that was listed on Sicial Security letter and amend the other years, which was for 2012, 2013 and 2014. I received my refund for both years, but after my 2016 return was received I got a letter from the IRS stating that I owe them over 4, 000 for the year 2015. I took the letter to the H and R Block in Hiram Georgia after making an appointment with them. The one in Dallas, Georgia was closed after tax season. The preparer there said the one in Dallas Georgia didn't put that my husband was living in the house and I know that wasn't true because I always file married filing separately because everything was in my name only and I had a house in 2015 and 2 in 2016. Anyway I received a letter from the H and R Block stating that I would honor my Piece of Mind Agreement because I didn't give everything which was a lie because I gave up all my paperwork and have copies of it. Besides all of that, the IRS sent me another letter stating that I now owe them 8, 000 and I am more confused now. Something needs to be done because I even gave a lawyer another 1, 500 to try to get to the bottom of it. It's not fair to pay for a agreement along with the already high filing fees. Linda Ellison. tax services and peace of mind insurance
This is a letter of complaint against our local H&R Block office. We have been having our taxes prepared for years at our local office in Collins MS. We were audited this year by the state of MS taxes for the years 2013 thru 2017. Our office was of no help even though we have purchased your pom insurance every year. We had to pay $19332.00 in state tax penalty and interest and 494.00 I income tax. We were actually told each year by your office we did not owe any state tax due to our income. During the audit the owner admitted that they did not know about the state tax enacted in 2013 stating we had to have a permit and pay contractor tax every month. He stated they were now training their employees in how to prepare small business taxes. And then said to us we should have known all the tax laws for small business. Well why have we been paying between $500&700 plus pom insurance to have our taxes done. If we knew all the tax laws we could do them ourselves. This has been a horrible hardship on our business and family. We had to sell one of our company trucks plus take out a loan. We of course will never go to another H&R block again. Attached is a copy of a review we have put on as many social media outlets as we possibly can. We do not want anybody to go through the nightmare that we have gone through this year.
hr block tax company
My name is sherry Whittaker, I had my taxes done in evansville, indiana, 47710, I referred a friend and I have never received the 25.00 dollar giftcard, I referred Eric w, Wilson, who had his taxes completed at the same office I used and gave the tax preparer the refer friend paper with all of my information on it, he finally received his tax return money 3 weeks ago and I'm still waiting for my giftcard, my phone number is [protected], address is 7825 Peters road, wadesville, IN 47638,
Have you tried contacting that location directly? Sometimes these things can take a very long time (like 6-8 weeks or more after the refund is issued).
h&r block emerald card
They completed my taxes, electronically sent to irs with my refund to be deposited to an emerald debit card supplied by them. 1 minute after my refund was deposited to the card, some online ticket company in spain withdrew $1555 off my card...Excuse me, i cant even use my own emerald card, this same one, to make purchases without an i.D or pin number (to wit nobody knew my number but me) yet your going to allow someone from another country to withdraw that amount without either my i.D or pin? i immediately called h&r block and they saidthe cards came from the bank owned by h&r block which i now had an account with and my checking account is linked to the emerald card they gave me and i'd have to call them. I did, the bank said if i disputed a charge to my debit (or withdrawl from my checking account) i'd have to send it to their dispute department in writing then they would take a look at it and decide if i"d be returned the money but in any event the $55 sending portion was non refundable. Per account policy they have 30 days to investigate my issue and 15 days after that to send me their answer so in the very least it would take 45 days after they received my written complaint before they could tell me if they were going to return my money and then another 30 days to issue the refund if i were getting one (minus the $55 of course).
Well isn't that the perfect scam? (3.1 billion reported haul for fiscal 2016 wasn't enough for them) just think though if they swooped 2000 customer accounts for $1555 thats $3.1 million more. I'd say less than half those got their money back after that long policy that had many "you have to do this and that exactly when we say or the transaction is void"s stipulations, so a net for 50% of 1.5 million+. Even if they kept just all the non refundable $55 that equals $110, 000.
In any event, they ended with "we don't own the cards, they are provided by another company that would have to issue us the refund before we issue to you.'
how much you wanna bet "another company" is owned by h&r block also? you'd think rico charges would be filed...I called 8 times a day for 10 days and they returned to my account minus the $55.
employee behavior
H&R Block on 95th and Antioch in Overland Park, KS has employees who are not listening to the landlord's regulations on employee parking. The H&R Block employees constantly park in the front row of the parking lot blocking customer parking for all business in the Center. This has been addressed numerous times and they continue to ignore this. Every other employee in the shopping center parks away to clear room for money spending customers.
Every time this is addressed they say rude things and ignore the fact they are causing issues for everyone and their customers.
We are hoping you can help us with this before things turn worse.
online service
I tried to access my 2015 return. I must have mis-clicked a security answer. It locked me out. I called HR Block where a representative gave me instructions on unlocking and her information caused it to be preeminently blocked. Then Supervisor Elkis - x157713, told me to unlock it I had to drive 2 hours to a store location or Call the IRS to get my return. So angry. I paid HR block a ton of money to file my taxes and due to their tech support inadequacies they have the nerve to tell me to call the IRS. I will never use them again and I will let everyone I know about their customer service.
income tax course
Hello, I am in the income tax course, city of downey in california.. And we do not have air condition.. It is a small room, we are 13 persons and it is so hot inside... Why do not you have air condition?.. It is a bad experience... I would like to come to a nice place next class...
I hope you can to fix the problem next time... I do not want to be here with the same problem..
unethical behavior and terrible service
I paid H & R Block in Red Deer to do a professional tax return. They made a careless, amateur mistake that resulted in Canada Revenue demanding I pay $1200.00. H & R Block at downtown office admitted that they made a mistake but refused to do anything about it. The boss would not even come out and speak to me!
I explained that I paid them to do my taxes and they made a mistake (by entering the same tax credit twice) and that was costing me $1200.00. The boss yelled out from the back room that there was, "Nothing we want to do to help."
They took my money, provided a service, made a mistake (to which they admitted), and yet they won't stand by their work.
They were condescending, careless and made no attempt at restitution. They are in it for your money, not to provide a professional service.

The individual doing my taxes was a complete novice. I had a partial tax return from Ohio and from TN. They were stuck like a dear in headlights. At the end, i received a weird print out that said i owed a school district tax. The tax preparer told me not to worry and that he would fix it by inputting the correct information. I had never paid this tax before. I got all the peace of mind insurance that i could at the end to make sure I was covered because i knew he did something wrong.. I filed my taxes around April. It is now August. I received a letter stating i owed a school district tax of 400.00. I did not live in an area that imposed a school district tax. The code that he put on my return did not coincide with my residence. clerical error which will cost me 400.00 if i do not get it resolved quickly. I called to make an appt to have things looked at and to remind H&R block of the insurance i purchased for peace of mind. the office is rude. I will never get my taxes done here again. Jackson Hewitt never fails. Do not go to H&R block.
tax prep
Had my 2015 taxes done by HR Block in Grove City Pa. Lady was rude and pushy. Tried to charge me $475 when your ad said $100 for first time visit. Went to different company this year and he reviewed my 2015 taxes. Found a $29729.00 over payment error. This caused me great hard ship. Have made several calls and only get the run around. Can I get my fee returned and be compensated or am I wasting my time. All I hear is that this will be taken care of and never see any action. Ken Rabold e-mail [protected]@aol.com ph #[protected]
local branch
My husband and I dropped off his W-2s story a local branch in April 2017. I have followed up twice, and we still do not have his amended returns--almost 4 months later. I've never used H&R Block before, me this experience has guaranteed that I never will again. My last attempt to communicate with the tax specialist was 7/17/17, and there has been no reply. I'd like someone from Corporate to intervene. Here is the contact info:

tax preparation/customer service
4/17/2017 Office:33418 Professional: #144418 Patricia Yape
Desirable Resolution: Refund for preparation charge $259.25
This was my first time filing taxes with H&R block, first time having them done professionally ever. My father normally does my taxes but fell ill. Due to the illness, I filed taxes professionally as a drop off and pick up. I dropped the taxes off 4/14 and picked them up 4/17. When picking them up, I asked if there was anything additional I had to do and the person checking me out went back to Patricia and asked, the final answer being no. I had spoke with Patricia on the phone within the days she was preparing the taxes and knew I owed the state money. The way it was explained to me made it sound as if everything was taken care of, and the money was to be taken out of the total refund. The only thing I had to do at pickup was pay the charge for the service, $259.25. 3 weeks ago I received an email from ODT stating they hadn't received the balance due. I emailed with no response and then called and set up a call back for today, 7/28/17. I was notified Patricia is off for the summer and spoke with a woman named Kim at that office. I explained to her the situation and the confusion regarding the incident. She cut me off verbally several times stating they did their job and I should have known that I had to send the payment in. She also said asking the checkout person if everything is finished means I had a question and should have done a sit down with Patricia. I told her there was another customer with Patricia and the checkout girl went back and specifically asked if there was anything else needing to be done on my end for the taxes. I understand this is all confusion, but Kim was extremely rude on the phone. I told her I did not have the time to afford to sit down, hence why I had to have my taxes done professionally, because I was caring for an ill father. I asked for a refund on the charge for preparation because now I am at a loss as to why I paid $259.25 and the taxes were not truly completed. She stated the refunds are only for the tax refunds, not for preparation charge. She kept insisting filing a claim would "go nowhere" and "get denied" but I asked her to anyways. I asked if I could follow on the claim but she said it is an internal process and cannot. I was made to believe everything when I picked up my taxes was complete. The state had been paid, and the refund total was the amount with the deduction included. I now understand this is not the case. I am very unhappy with the customer service I received from Kim. I am completely satisfied with my refund, I am upset that this was not explained more clearly, either on the phone when speaking with Patricia or when I picked up the packet. I would like to request a refund for the preparation service.

We filed our taxes in oxford ms in 2015 for the year 2014.in feb of 2016 we received a letter from the irs that we didnit report around 100, 000 in income. We have used h&r for over 30 yrs. It was on our papers they needed our ss income and a 401 form. We were penalized 2000.00 in interest and penalties. Then they got the amended return wrong by not including all the income again. We have not gotten any satisfaction from them. One lady in oxford tried to help us but we have not heard from memphis headquarters. We will be getting a lawyer.
