iYogi Bogus invoice

Iygi sent me a phony bill saying they charged my account $480.99. I called them to see where I was charged. I foolishly looked at my bank account while talking to them. They said they would issue a credit even though charge was not there. They seized my computer without permission and said they posted a credit of 480.99. Instead they posted 4, 809.99 immediately on my bank account and immediately seized my computer. They said if I did not send a money order immediately for the difference of over 4, 000 I might as well throw my computer out as I would not be able to access it. Before I could shut down my computer they scrambled files. It cost me 400 to fix. I am an individual — not a company. This is still extorsion. The invoice is attached. On the back is a phone number [protected]

Desired outcome: 400 it cost me to fic computer plus they should be fined for extorsion

I called the number 9/28/21 to cancel. At first it appeared as though I was cancelling this renewal. They were going to start the process and get me a refund of the $299.99 charged to my checking account. They wanted me to validate the charge was actually removed from my checking account. I told them I wasn't accessing my bank account while they were on the line. We argued for several minutes then I hung up on them.
I then tried to access my bank account to validate whether the charge was valid or not. As I was writing out a chat with the bank to explain the what had just happened. The phone rang, a number I didn't recognize so I let it go. They then popped into the chat and said "I have control of your computer. I can take all your money out of your account right now if you don't answer the phone". I typed "please don't" they replied "answer the phone" I typed "ok". At this point, I'm very upset and crying. The second person James said he would start the process of cancelling the account. To do so, I needed to renew today and then cancel within 30 days. I told him I didn't appreciate being threatened by the previous guy to wipe out my bank account just to get me back on the line. James then sent me to Bryan Cooper. Bryan Cooper then tried to assure me that I wasn't going to have any money removed from my account but I needed to pay $2000.00 for renewal of 6 months of service to the account prior to getting the account cancelled. He tried to get me to drive to Best Buy, Target or Walmart to purchase $2000.00 gift cards and then provide him with the numbers. I told him I was not driving to any of those places to purchase gift cards. They were an hour away and I was too upset to drive there. After arguing and screaming at him for 20 minutes. He agreed to set my account on hold for 24 hours in which time he would speak to his supervisor and return a phone call to me at 5:30pm tonight. He told me he locked my computer so if I turned it off. I wouldn't be able to turn it back on.

Desired outcome: I want them out of my computer and to be removed from their system. No future contact from their company

iYogi Internet security service

I have been repeatedly harassed on the phone by the sales team at iYogi at my business during the day. They have been told that I do not want their service of internet security and have asked them not to call back but they continue to call me. The last incident occurred on Feb. 2nd, 2017. The salesperson absolutely would not take NO for an answer. He would not hang up. He would not acknowledge that I would not buy his service. After I explained to him that harassment by telephone is a federal crime and that the company would be sued if it continued, the salesperson told me that he would sue me called me an ### and continued to verbally abuse me using profane language mixed with incoherent babbling prolonging the conversation for the sole purpose of interrupting my business.

I want this company to stop doing business in the United States of America. This company and many others like it need to be told by our government, watchdog groups like the BBB and citizens united that this type of business practice can no longer happen on our soil. The telephone solicitation of "internet security services" along with hordes of other bogus services from companies that are based outside the United States is a scam, fraudulent in every aspect and preys upon the weak and naive without paying any taxes to the United States of America. They use my phone to do their work. Repeatedly calling someone back will not gain them any more money. The sole purpose was to interrupt my business. How can this be allowed to happen? Who's going to protect the little guy?

iYogi Tech support

I had taken a contract for tech support from I Yogi in January 2015. They had helped me prior to that so when my contract expired, paid $350 for a 5 year contract.

When I tried to contact them for help in July, the phone numbers did not work and I was transferred to another tech who said that they were taking over for I Yogi. I did not get any help at that time.

I also had bought Mc Afee security in April, but they told me that was not good for my computer and sold me their security software program in April for $79.99.

Since then, I have gone on a tech plan with another company that my husband had been using and they cleaned my computer last August.

I have been receiving calls daily now from I Yogi and they are telling me that they need to update my virus protection. After putting them off for almost a month, I finally called them back and allowed them to take control of my computer. Big mistake!

They worked on my computer for about 1/2 hour and then called me back to tell me that there was porno and other virus' and that they needed to sell me a $1400 Firewall unit. When I told them "not in this lifetime" they offered a discount of $650 for it. I was becoming very agitated with them at this point and said I was not going to purchase anything else.

They kept repeating that I was going to be put in jail and finned for having porno on my computer and I just got so angry that I hung up on them. "Big mistake" they locked my computer and after several calls back they hang up on me or put me on hold for hours.

Do not work with them. They are dishonest! I have made a complaint against them with the Federal Trade Commission.

Now I am locked out of my computer and even my other tech service are unable to unlock my computer.

I have been told that I will need to restore my computer with the windows disk, but I do not have one and will need to go out and buy one.

iYogi Avoid!!

Do not trust these guys from iYogi, they are real scammers! They caused me nothing but trouble!
One day I got a call from them and they said something about my network being hacked and said that they can fix that. I was really scared because I don't know much about hacking and stuff, and I believed them. Then they said they need an access to my PC and I gave them all the necessary information. I have no idea what they did but I wasn't able to use my PC! Then they said that I owe them $500 for the service! What?
They scammed me, closed access to my own PC and demanded money!
Stay away from them!

iYogi Out of business

Months of trying to get service, after paying $379.99 for a 5 year contract, and threats if I didn't buy more, I would be sorry when my computer went down and I lost everything, I decided this is not a company I want to do business with anymore. I notified the CC company they used to process my charge, still unresolved after about six months. I went with Geek Squad, they determined iYogi had put malware on my computer, a virus and this was my problem. I asked Geek Squad to remove absolutely everything dealing with iYogi, which is now gone. I contacted a website phone number to again try to cancel and get a refund only to find out iYogi is out of business and any monies paid to them is lost. GREAT!

Research carefully any tech support which can take control of your computer. It isn't worth having them infect and then upsilon contracts.

iYogi They are ignoring me!

I have signed up for iYogi about a year ago and subscribed and paid for a 2 year membership. At the beginning everything was ok and they provided quite a nice service. Customer tech support was always available and they never refused to help.
But about two months ago I really needed their help and as always I called them to get some advice and support but no one picked up! I tried to call the next day but the same thing happened. I also sent them many messages with no luck getting a response. I have no idea what is going on but I would like to get some reasonable explanation! I paid for the 2 year service and they are ignoring me!

iYogi scammers! cancelled my subscription and refused to refund my money!

I signed up for iYogi and received a horrible service. I could not understand a thing their rep said and they were totally unhelpful. The whole service was not what I expected when I signed up.
I asked them to cancel my subscription and asked for a refund. That happened the same day I signed up. They said that they will cancel with no problem, but will not give me my money back.
Then they just stopped replying to my messages. What a scam!

iYogi Their technicians lie

An iyogi technician told me I should purchase Live Docs from them for $99. He said it is a productivity program, which is true, but he also said that it is mandatory for running Windows 10, which is untrue. After I refused to purchase Live Docs, the next technician I contacted for help via their online chat, opened up a window for paying by credit card. The technician said it was for paying for Live Docs, which I had just refused to buy through the previous technician. I will not renew my services from iyogi when my contact expires.

iYogi They're gone!

I first got directed to iYogi to try to get a driver for a bluetooth transmitter that was incompatible with my system. I thought I was dealing with the manufacturer of the device only to find out $200 later they were another scam. They couldn't get me the driver I needed, bottom line. They seemed to fix all of my other computer issues and as time went on I figured out they were nothing but a scam. I recently tried to contact them to get service and got a busy signal.

iYogi They owe me over $800!

I was this iYogi's client back in 2014. My printer was not working and they helped me with my problem. So I signed up for a 3 year service agreement. They told that they would charge me $400 every year. But my bank keeps calling and telling that my card was charged and someone took $800 from me. Iyogi could not understand the basic concept of credits and debits and my bank had to get involved to straighten them out. They promised to return my money back as soon as possible. But that was in November and it is now January. Still no money. They owe me over $800 dollars and I don't know what to do. Don't do business with this company.

iYogi Technical support

It the worst customer service I've ever had. You are waiting for technical support for an hour or too. When finally the representative shows up, he starts to ask you multiple questions and then, says that he is not a technician, but a customer service representative, and now, he is going to bring a technician online with you. He puts you on hold for another hour and then, the company disconnects you. Isn't it brilliant -- charge for 3 years of service and provide you nothing? Their TechGenie security is awful. My computer doesn't work properly since I've got so called assistance from this company. Their customer service representatives are rude and the technicians are ignorant.

iYogi IYogi HR (Stuti) Misbehaviour with me

Hi,

I went for an Interview today at I Yogi (21.3.15) and I found the attitude of the HR (Stuti) was very bad towards the Candidates who come for an Interview. I reached around 1 o clock & she called those Candidates who come later. Well that may happen I thought.
When I informed her that I am also waiting then her reaction was really bad but she told me to come for interview.

Then at the time of Interview she was asking too many personal questions to make me irritate and she asked me about my property & when I said its too personal then she told me that I am showing attitude & with this attitude she will not allow me to join because everything in her hand.
Then I decided to leave then at the time of leaving she told me that she will blacklist me.

I feel, HR like Stuti with that much attitude is not good. I don't expect I Yogi for any action towards HR as I don't have good opinion about I Yogi also. and in future I wont go for I Yogi as a customer also

I used iYogi to try to fix a problem installing Norton Antivirus. They were not able to do it after 3 hours. I was told there would be no charge. The next day my account was drafted $169.99. After contacting them they sent an e-mail sayinf I would be refunded the full amount. Weeks later and a dozen phone call and nothing. Never, never trust them to do what the say. STAY AWAY!

Called McAfee service for a virus problem and ended up with a technician from iYogi and after a bunch of hours and out of $169.00 my laptop is not use able anymore and their program keeps the machine locked up.

What a waste of time and money. I should have checked their reviews before getting sucked into their scam.

iYogi My iYogi Horror Story

I am absolutely amazed that iYogi could have any positive reviews whatsoever. Please keep in mind that this company is based in another country. Not in the United States. You DO NOT want to try your machine to a company that pays its employees $1.00 per hour to look at your personal documents, pictures and potentially confidential information (taxes, financials, etc.)

My horror store with iYogi really starts two years ago when I contacted McAfee to get some help uninstalling their product from my computer. I was receiving error messages and wanted to cancel it. An iYogi Technician impersonating McAfee spoke to me and convinced me to let him into my computer to help remove McAfee. They actually removed it and installed their own Total Defense software.

It made me feel trapped into purchasing their program for $300. Like I was coerced and forced into buying this product that would make my computer work faster, better and have fewer problems.

It turned out to be a nightmare. A packaged and wrapped box of lies. For two years I had nothing but issues with my computer. Constant freezing, virus scares (turns out they never cleaned the computer right the first time, ) and other issues with the machine.

The worst mistake you can ever make is hiring an overseas company or someone that is not knowledgeable on your issues to work on your machine. In order to get this debacle repaired, I did end up locating a company, SafePCFix.com - from a customer on these threads. They described the service they had gotten was from someone who spoke English, and was able to remove the iYogi junk and clean up the original trouble areas.

To be completely honest, I was a little apprehensive about calling another company, but after talking to two of the techs there, they definitely were the guys I wanted to clean my computer. My tech guy explained that they get calls from people whom have hired these types of companies before and have nothing but issues with their computers. They connected to my machine and fixed it within a matter of hours. They showed me the log reports of where iYogi screwed up.

The MOST IMPORTANT part of this, is that my technician at safepcfix was able to get the remainder of the money refunded back to my card. It took a few weeks, but they did that for me. They were able to get me squared away, get the computer fixed (instead of buying a new one.)

So, in summation, DO NOT hire iyogi to work on your computer. Find someone else that you can trust first and foremost. If iYogi has touched your computer, there are definitely problems with it that need to be addressed.

iYogi gave me virus

I had iyogi fix a slow working computer in January. As instructed, I called periodically to update my computer. It took an average of 4 hours each time for them to update it but my computer worked. In November I called for a slow computer. The tech scared me into buying Tech Genie to prevent getting viruses like the one he had just removed. After 4 hours trying to install it he said iyogi would need to call back. They did at 7 pm and after 4 hours on the phone said they would call me in a few hours when they had it done. I was called at 2 am, told it was complete and ended the network call. My computer was no longer operational, I could not access files at first then only got a blue screen. I took it to a local repair shop. They showed me that a virus that encrypts files was downloaded at 2 am the morning I was on with iyogi. All of my files and photos were lost. I called iyogi and cancelled Tech Genie. I was told it would be refunded. They will not refund the money I had to spend on getting rid of the virus they downloaded with Tech Genie.
