un warranted service call
After reviewing most of the complaints (which seemed a little dated) I found that the compliants mirrored my situation.
I went on to Norton's website for customer service and was referred to the iYogi company (apparently outsouced to some place in India). Although the contact person was hard to understand (having to ask for clarication of some of the dialogue) we were able to get through. The issues was that I was trying to get one of my license delete and replaced by my new laptop. I was told that this was not a problem and all the while I believed I was talking to someone from Norton (which is whom I wanted the contact. It was
later that I found out that the rep I was talking to was from iYogi (which is not who I called). I believe that If Norton is using an outside source for their service that they make sure it is on the website not found out after the fact on the phone. It was over 2 hrs on the phone only to have my new laptop locked out (which it was not before hand). I was then referred to another person who tried to get it unlocked but to no avail. I was then told I need to have a service rep come out to look at the machine and that it would cost $169.99 (which sounds to me-from the compliants-that this is the service charge for the year. I was not told that this was a service fee and that if I went someplace else it would cost in excess of $200.00 to have the laptop running properly. Before my call to Norton the laptop was running fine and as I indicated I wanted to transfer my license from one device to another. If this is the type of service that Norton is offering. I do not want it and will most likely not renew and go to another company that will best service my devices. One of the problems that I see is that the product that Norton does offer/provide appears to be a good service but the other side of this is not to good and something that I do not need to have to worry about at any time. Since the laptop is not functioning properly I do not know whether to cancel the service call and get someone else to reboot the system properly.

Bordeline Dishonesty
Do NOT use iYogi. They are polite, but a waste of time. The best example to support this statement is the letter I sent to my credit card company to request a refund after iYogi jerked my chain on FOUR (4) different occasions and ultimately refusing to refund my payment. As support for my review, below is the complaint I sent to my credit card company.
I am writing to request the charge below be refunded to my credit card.
I purchased the Total Defense service, an internet security system for three computers, through iYogi.com. As background, iYogi.com provides remote assistance for computer software installation and operational issues – services I separately purchased. The Total Defense software did operate properly, causing problems with access to numerous websites. The service was installed by iYogi.com as part of the purchase. I finally realized my problems with internet access were caused by the Total Defense software and contacted iYogi.com (from whom I purchased the service) online on Thursday or Friday 19 or 20 December 2013. After well over two (2) hours online with an iYogi.com technician, the problem could not be repaired. (This was less than sixty days after my purchase.) At the conclusion, the technician said he would schedule a session with a higher level technician for Sunday 22 December 2013. I again was online for well over two (2) hours and again the problem was not resolved. On Monday 23 December I called iYogi to cancel Total Defense, the technician then requested I give him one more opportunity to correct the problem; I did, and again spent over two (2) hours online with the problem not resolved. I requested iYogi refund my $139.99 and my subscription for the iYogi service.
I phoned iYogi in early January after I received the refund for the iYogi subscription and asked why there was no refund for the $139.99. I was told the refund was submitted and to wait another week. I phoned a second time and was told to wait 48 hours – I waited a week. I phoned a third time and was told to wait 48 hours – I waited a week. I phoned a fourth time on 15 February 2014 and THIS time was told the policy was that after 60 days, there could be no refund.
Under the circumstances, iYogi being unable to fix the Total Defense service days before the 60 day period and then trying a SECOND and THIRD time to fix the service, it was THEY who caused the 60 day period to lapse. Had they submitted the refund request on 22 December, after the SECOND failure the refund request would have been within the 60 day time period for refund qualification.
I respectfully request the charge be refunded.

Bad service
On December 31, 2013, I was working at my computer and suddenly noticed that my McAfee “Site Advisor” icon had disappeared from the upper right part of my screen. In 2012, I would have immediately contacted iYogi via LiveHelp without a moment’s hesitation. But on December 31st, I did hesitate. Because over the last year and a half, whenever I have used iYogi’s LiveHelp to solve a computer problem, the results have been more frustrating than satisfying. My iYogi customer is [protected].
Over the past eighteen months, whenever I have contacted iYogi, it has been a coin toss as to whether the problem would be fixed in fifteen minutes or three hours. Fifty percent of the time, I would get a iYogi technician (via LiveHelp) who knew what he was doing and solved the problem quickly. But the other fifty percent of the time, the same problem would take three different technicians over a three-hour period.
Except on December 31st, everything got way worst. This is what happened. I contacted iYogi’s LiveHelp to fix what I thought was a relatively minor issue: the disappearance of my McAfee “Site Advisor” icon from the upper right part of my computer screen. The iYogi case number on this was [protected]. My computer ID was C101815820. The first iYogi technician couldn’t figure out how to download “Site Advisor” from the web – a relatively simple action. Instead, his line of attack was to un-install the entire McAfee program from my iYogi Support Dock. I told him that I didn’t understand why he needed to take this action. I told him that all he had to do was download the McAfee “Site Advisor” tool from the McAfee website. But he won’t listen to me. He responded that un-installing, then reinstalling a program is standard operating procedure at iYogi. I told him that I thought that was the wrong way to approach these matters. But more about that later.
So he wasted an hour un-installing, then reinstalling the McAfee program over and over again. But the “Site Advisor” still never came back. I reiterated that the “Site Advisor” function was a separate McAfee function, but he wouldn’t listen. After an hour, I was told that his official “time” was up. To my surprise, there is an iYogi “policy” which says that any technical assistance which goes over sixty minutes and remains unresolved has to be terminated, and a “higher level of tech support” must be scheduled. Frankly, I don’t remember this policy being in place when I first signed up for iYogi four years ago. I was asked to schedule for a “higher level” call back. The earliest appointment was forty-eight hours away, sometime late in the afternoon on January 2, 2014. I told the guy that this was an unacceptable outcome. He told me that iYogi company policy dictated this decision.
I decided to give this another shot. So I used LiveHelp again to talk to another iYogi technician. Some progress was made this time. The second iYogi guy got “Site Advisor” on my Mail.Yahoo account in Internet Explorer, but not Firefox, which is use much more frequently. It was then that he suggested that he un-install, then reinstall the entire McAfee program off my computer. I then told him that the last iYogi guy tried that and failed to achieve results. But he told me he had to find out for himself. Sure enough, after nearly a half-hour, he also failed to achieve any tangible results. At this point, the second iYogi technician admited that he wasout of depths and connected me to someone he thought was more “familiar” with this type of issue.
The third iYogi technican was the final straw. His strategy was slightly different that the two prior iYogi technicians. Instead of un-installing and reinstalling the entire McAfee program from my iYogi Support Dock, he tried to simply un-install one particular McAfee program, the “Security Plus” program. Big mistake.
Suddenly, the entire screen went blank. We tried to turn my computer on and off several times, but we couldn’t even get the computer into “safe mode.” My computer was essentially dead. The third iYogi technician then told me what the first iYogi technician told me. He told me I would have to wait forty-eight hours to get an “advanced technician.” I was advised that the advanced technician would probably suggest that I un-install my entire new Windows 7 operating system, the reinstall it. I thought that was totally absurd. I did that once before. It was a total nightmare. Because then I would have to reinstall all my existing programs, which would have been a full-day job.
So his “solution” was not going to set with me at all. I made the appointment, but I immediately thought of other options. I took my computer to an authorized Dell computer dealer in town. He almost immediately diagnosed the problem and fixed my computer within twenty-four hours. He was not only able to start my computer rather easily. No muss, no fuss. But it cost me $100.
As I stated at the beginning of this letter, the service at iYogi has steadily gone downhill over the last year and half. It reminds me of that old saying: “If all you have in your toolbox is a hammer, everything else is a nail.” It seems that un-installing and reinstalling programs are the only “solutions” being offered by iYogi these days. There isn’t the targeted, precision tech solutions that I used to admire about the way iYogi worked eighteen months ago. And when iYogi wasn’t offering these draconian “solutions, ” your technicians seemed to spend more time trying to sell me new iYogi products than fixing my computer. And the selling pitch was on every call, every LiveChat.
To conclude, I am spending good money with iYogi to protect three computers (mine, my wife’s and my laptop), but half of time, I have to drive to my local computer fix-it shop to repair the damage that your iYogi technicians have caused. At my expense. This has to stop.
Sincerely,
Gerry Ringwald

Misleading sale of printer
When looking for a information as to when a new driver would be available for my older printer, the customer tech said they didn't know. They then wanted to sell me a new printer that would print/copy/scan. Since it had been several months since I had bought a new computer with Windows 8, which my older printer wouldn't work with, I decided to go ahead and buy the printer. I needed the printer for my business and wanted the ability to scan and print/email documents and thought this would be a good deal. I bought the printer and it arrived in good time. It turned out to be the worse printer with it's noisy start up, the cartridge going back and forth several times, click, clacking and driving someone crazy. Even though I only used the black and white for printing, I found out after running out of colored ink right away that the printer used the color ink even though it printed only in black and white. Figure out that one. When I tried to scan, I realized that there was no scan feature on this model, which is why I mainly decided to buy this. I called customer service, but they were no help since it was a few days past the return date. I told them that I bought the printer for the scan feature that I was told it had and they needed to check the tape of the conversation with me and the tech that helped me. I was told that they didn't keep the tapes that long ( a few days past 30 days?). So here I am with a printer that I can't use and to put the icing on the cake, I discovered that a driver for my old printer was finally available a month after I bought the printer. If iYogi is a Customer Service for HP, I would think they would have known that the driver would be out in a few weeks when I called and would have told me, instead they chose to cheat me. Shame on me for rushing into the buy, but I thought I was dealing with an authorized HP service company. Beware of anything they say. I agree with everything people have said about this company and I get so disgusted with trying to understand what all these people are saying. Why are we dealing with people that can't speak English? I don't have anything against helping other countries, but hire ones who don't have a thick accent and aren't crooks! I would rather pay a little more for products and keep the jobs in our country where people need jobs. We send all these countries billions of dollars every year - isn't that enough? Help our people out, find them jobs.

did not follow thru with agreement, refuse to refund our money
We are a retired couple living on a fixed income. Neither of us are very tech savvy. All 3 of our computers were down at the same time in August of this year, I called (what I thought was Dell support) spoke with a tech and he promised to have all 3 computers (2 desktops and a laptop) up in running within 5 days or our money back, I gave him our Credit card number and we were charged $1200 for 3 years service. I spoke for hours with a technician, and when I finally hung up, none of the computers were working. The next day I spoke for 7+ more hours, still nothing. This went on for a week, I felt like I had a full time job with these technicians who barely speak English. I took a few days off, and called again, and for another week, spending my days on the phone with technicians and still no computers. Finally after convincing me to start over with a clean slate on my laptop, from when it was factory new, I lost all data, pictures, folders, the works, and still it doesn't work proper. I have spent 3-5 days a week on the phone for hours with technicians (a different one every time) and still we have no working computers..It has been more than two months, none of the computers are working right and when I call to get our money back, they play "the good faith" card and I end up on the phone with a technician for hours wasting my precious time. Please do NOT agree to any terms they offer, they do not follow through on their end of the deal, they take your money and do not give services promised.

Ripoff
I agree with the person who said the positive reviews come from iYogi personnel. I bought a year's worth of service in July. They remotely fixed a problem I had with a virus, then I suddenly had no protection on my computer, so another virus attacked it. When I called this time, they again remotely controlled my computer to fix it, but could not. I had to leave to go to a funeral. My daughter took over manning the phone with them. They told her I needed to buy their "virus protection" and that would fix it. After buying this, they told her they had done everything they could, so as far as they were concerned, it was "fixed". Their company is based in India, so I can understand how some people had trouble understanding accents, but they do all speak English. None of their technicians (I spoke to four in a SEVEN HOUR period) understood what was wrong with my computer. Every time I asked for my money back per their guarentee, I was referred to another technician. Then to a very nice young woman in customer service who assured me their "expert level" technicians could fix it in an hour. When I was connected to the "expert", he hadn't even read the notes from the previous SEVEN HOURS and simply started doing the SAME thing again! I again asked to be transferred to customer service (all call transfers take at least five minutes of dead air time), I got another "technician" who said that he could fix it but it might take more than an hour. At this point, I told him he had 30 minutes and if he couldn't fix it in that time, I wanted my money back. He said he couldn't do it in 30 minutes, or if I wanted, he could wipe everything off my computer. Ultimately, this may be the only way to fix it, but I could do that myself. He finally agreed to refund my money (NOT in full, pro rated), then he didn't want to refund the money for the "virus protection" saying that I could use it on my other computers. I asked how that could possibly be since the computer it was loaded on DIDN'T WORK! He said he had offered a "suggestion to fix it" (wiping off all programs ---INCLUDING THE "VIRUS PROTECTION"). Finally, he agreed to refund this as well. I got an email to that effect, though I was told it will take up to FOUR WEEKS. I don't think these people are really crooks, just incredibly inept and have no clue what they are doing. I should also mention that every time I asked for my money back I was offered an "extra three months of SERVICE", what a joke!

No customer service, fraud
I've just read all the complaints about iYogi and glad that I'm not alone. Ever since spending the $169 fee(Sept.2012) for a one year of service for my wife's laptop. My computer had a virus, so I contacted Dell and they suggested iYogi. They were very helpful at first. Two months later I contacted them about an issue with the computer, it was suggested that I pay an additional service fee so they could go on my computer monthly, rather than my wife calling in. So I just paid $169 and they want me to cough up another $59, and also suggested I get rid of my McAfee service and use theirs for an additional fee. Why is the technical department trying to sell me additional services? They probably get a commission. So I field a complaint with a supervisor. A few months later my wife was having trouble with the sensitivity of the mouse pad on the laptop. Still happening to this day, they couldn't fix it. Two days ago we received a phone call from iYogi saying that our service had just expired on July 12th. My wife told them no she wasn't happy with the service we received. A few minutes later we tried to shut down her computer, it would not, no safe mode nothing(I'm very suspicious). So she called them back, they told us they would help, we talked to customer service and before they transferred us to tech support my wife asked when our service expired, they stated October 11th, wait didn't someone just call and say it expired. He said no we have until October 11th and that must've been a phony call we got. Now to Tech support, he proceeded to help my wife with the computer. While on the phone my wife asked him when our service expired he said Sept 28th, what? Three different responses from three different people. I called the number from another phone that called earlier. A message came on saying this is iYogi process department, no one answered was too late in the evening. So they do exist. The tech support guy tells us that they don't have any such department. Lies, more lies. I ask him to have a supervisor contact me the next day, told him three times. He put it in the notes of our account. After he finished he asked my wife to fill out a survey on him. She did, guess what, next day no call. When I called back (not happy), I asked for a supervisor, told him what happened. He showed no note for anyone to call us back. We told him about the people calling us saying our service expired, he said no you didn't get a call, I gave him the number and asked him to call it. He didn't, said something about a scam. So we just got a call out of the blue from a scammer saying that our iYogi service had expired. More lies. There is a language barrier, no doubt, I repeated myself several times, that I wanted a call back in one or two days, telling me why this happened. My wife wants a refund for the two months of service remaining, they said no. All iYogi does is try to sell you products and services they don't provide. Scam, lies, I just wonder where all the computer viruses come from, maybe the same building in India. Please contact the BBB and file a complaint.
Fraudulent Business Plans
CRM services private limited is running a franchisee of Teleperformance in India and I work at the Indore center,
I work for Netgear process in the BPO process. This process is given to our company by Iyogi which is another BPO services provider,
When I joined the company; there were many false promises for salary and transport. The company has hired many employees in the same manner who left the company. Besides this, the new manager has changed the process to a scam business. Everyday our manager, Mr. Avik Ghosh announces happy hours where he tells us that no quality team from either Teleperformance, Iyogi or Netgear will be monitoring the calls and tells us to achieve all saes targets during this time only.
This puts a lot of pressure on all the employees and we are compelled to cheat and make false commitments to customers; we have to do this because we are threatened on a daily basis that he would take our jobs if we did not get the sales and now that he has allowed all kinds of cheating with the customers; we should have no problem in achieving so.
This has been going on for over a month now and when we lie; most of the customers pay the money but eventually understand the false commitments and ask for the refund. He comes back and asks us for an explanation on the same and has also terminated various agents for the fraud that he has setup himself.
I strongly recommend that no one joins this company because you would be put into the worst scenarios and under a lot of pressure to commit fraud.
I am submitting this complaint to highlight the kind of fraud activities happening in such big MNC's. We fool customers to charge money for services and at times extra money even when the service is either supposed to be free / cheaper.
Mr Avik Ghosh with the help of some managers from Iyogi along with Mr. Satish Joshi (Sales coach) are running this fraud business with pride and have the balls to threaten the employees as well; even the internal HR team doesnot listen to our complaints and we are left with no choice but to come to such forums.
Requesting for strong actions against such people and their supporters so that the service industry can be trusted by clients, consumers and employees alike.
Involved companies:
1) CRM Services Pvt Ltd (Teleperformance India) - Indirect service provider (handles Netgear Customers for Iyogi)
2) Iyogi - Direct Service Provider (Handles and outsources Netgear Customer service and charges customers for out of warranty support)
3) Netgear - US based router manufacturer who has outsourced technical support to Iyogi and Teleperformance through Iyogi

Requesting for Justice to US customers and Indian employees from such fraud business managers
Besides all this; various other points that can be termed unethical:
1) Call avoidance
2) Disconnecting calls when customers are not willing to pay
3) Influencing customer satisfaction survey responses
4) Abusive work atmosphere
5) No gender equality - Girls are considered to be objects o desire and there have been instances of humiliation due to open flirting in office premises
6) Mass violation of quality parameters to get a sale
7) Saving some agents who are caught and terminating others - Favoritism
8) Inconsistency in Promotions - Someone gets no promotions while another one gets promotions by skipping levels
9) Incompetent and egoistic support staff
10) Forced extra hours / extra days
11) Disputed payouts (Incentives)
12) Faulty attendance mechanism
13) Unhygienic cafeteria stalls and restrooms
Various other reasons which can be listed here that make this as one of the filthiest experiences in a professional career for people who are willing to build a career; however there are a lot of people who only come with an intention to grow within the organization and they not only support such wrongdoings but become an active participant for personal gains in a short tenurity period.

Hi
iyogi is good company but some supervisor (prashant agarwal) of this company (prashant agarwal) are making bad image in the market.
so Iyogi please beware of dogs(prashant agarwal)india business
Indeed, There is far more than this ! Its a pitty that in the mist of whatever blunder "CRM"(TP India) is doing, its a loss of reputation for worlds best BPO, Teleperformance..
Incase you gtting confused, There is no company as Teleperformance in India, its CRM which has subsidiary of Teleperformance. Each time someone from Teleperformance comes down to India for an Audit, CRM changes changes the appearance of entire site by replacing poor quality sutff with lavishing things and is projected as an employee centric organisation.
There is a lot more than just this. These customers are basically in wrong hands
Cheating and abusing customers
I am one of the tech who worked for iyogi and this is what i have to show you all please find the conversation between one of the tech who is litreally abusing the caller and a MANAGER WHO IS ASKING HIM TO CHEAT THE CUSTOMER.. i am attaching a pic of the conversation please have a look. I yogi is one of the best tech support but due to people like this, we call them scam. The manager's name is mentioned as Vikram Vijay and the Tech is Vikram Xavier.

I am a computer technician with a small business helping mostly older folks. The other day, one of my customers had a paper jam on his HP all-in-one printer. After he cleared it, the printer would no longer print the top inch of every page. Everything else on the printer worked fine (2 months old). Everything on my customer's computer was fine (just 3 months old) . My customer attempted to contact HP support to troubleshoot the printer, and somehow called i Yogi instead. Without my customer paying anything, the i Yogi tech took remote control of the computer, sabotaged the printer, put the system into safe mode, and then claimed that their were so many junk files on the system that a $200 service fee was required to fix the computer. Remember, the customer is just trying to troubleshoot his printer not printing the top inch of every page. When he reminds the tech of this, the tech said the printer wasn't working because of all the junk files. My customer refused to pay the $200 fee, and the tech hung up on him. After calling back to have i Yogi undo what they did, he got the run around, and was hung up on several times. After a call to me, I was astonished by the horror story he told me about HP customer support. I told him to call corporate and complain, which he did. Luckily, HP (corporate) provided a free tech that undid most of the damage caused by i Yogi, allowing my customer to at least use his computer again. Unfortunately, his printer is still broken (most likely a damaged print head) and he needs to get a warranty ticket started still. ALL this happened because Brother decided not to make a Windows 8 compatible driver for one of their older printers which, by the way, had no problems in 12 years. Poor guy is so frustrated, he wants to just get rid of the computer... which would be unfortunate for his family and friends.
Stay away from i Yogi! It's not that the techs at i Yogi are impossible to understand, its not even the poor service they provide, it's the fact that their is a LONG history of this company taking advantage of people. I recommend everyone follow Avast!'s example and cut all ties with i Yogi, and begin exploring international litigation options for fraud.
Get yourself a job buddy. Me and Vikram Vijay have worked together for 3 years and i have learnt nothing but hardwork, commitment, accountability & mutual respect.
Please act matured & invest your jobless time on something more productive.
Best Regards,
Vijay Vikram
Scam?
After buying a new Toshiba laptop I called for technical help and was referred to yogi.
This ended up with me paying for a technical contract with them for $$.
The next time I had trouble I contacted them I paid again to continue the contract. The service given was fine but each time costing more money.
Then this time I responded to a yogi warning email I was told I had 80 viruses, and my anti-viral needed to be cancelled and I needed to buy a Toshiba warranty contract from them and a new anti-viral contract from them also. MY SON IN LAW NEVER FOUND THES 80 VIRIUSES. And it seem that the anti=viral I had was working just fine.
I did download my hard drive to a external HP hard drive backup . But the rest of their suggestions I felt were a scam for them to make money! for them. Toshiba should do a better job. Yogi needs just to give technical help not what they are doing now.

Misleading customers by posing themselves as contracted 3rd party
iYogi is misleading customers by saying they are authorized representatives of multiple companies. I had an issue with my DVD player of Lenovo. My wife thought she is talking with Lenovo. They misrepresent themselves as "Lenovo contracted them for all support". Then they installed some software to my laptop that started backing up my hard disk. I could not even uninstall the software; as it says, I need internet connection for that. God knows what they are doing with that software they are installing. Now I have to re image my computer to avoid any theft of sensitive files on my laptop. I don't know how companies like Lenovo are not taking action in iYogi.net for abusing their name,

IYogi Is Still Misleading customers by posing themselves as contracted 3rd party To Other Companies
I have the same complaint about iYogi misrepresenting themselves, this time as being on contract with Kaspersky's and this is 2014! Obviously the iYogi representative responding to nutulapati wasn't sincere about investigating the complaint as they continue to misrepresent themselves two (2) years later!
I don't care what iYogi-ART says about what is "clearly stated on their website" I clicked on a link for Kaspersky's and the number given was supposed to be that of Kaspersky's as well! I'm reading too many accounts on the web about iYogi using this practice, old and recent enough that I'm going to complain not only to Google (about the misrepresented links) but to the BBB, as iYogi is stated to be a member.
Technical support by IYOGI
I feel like iyogi steals your product keys than your program does not work properly for you you have to obtain new keys this has happened with every program that iyogi I have given the computer codes to they rollback your computer to an earlier stage but you cannot use your product keys again I have a new computer and all my data will be loss because I have to take the computer in to a computer company this is very sad that the employees for iygoi would do such awful things to IYOGI customers because this company will obtain a bad name. There is no one you can complain to because when you do complain about your complain and the misbehavior of IYOGI employees run into more problems your computer codes to allow you to get on the Internet become erratic are you cannot get on the Internet I have been facing this problems for weeks now and they say we’re going to escalate it and fix your computer but you are paying this company and all they do is take you back to an earlier date and that is something you can do yourself and the problems are never really fixed they leave all kinds of malware programs on your computer that do conflict with other programs I have even found on my computer with Iyogi has written on my hard drive different IP addresses that direct from my website

I wish all those crooks BAD KARMA...they seem to believe in Karma, or pretend to, but I hope they have a enormous amounts of bad Karma!

Fraudulent business
MyCharge.iYogi.com appeared on my bank statement but problems is that I’ve never heard of them before. It was a huge charge so it caused lots of problems for me but it seems that nobody is concerned with this situation because I wasn’t able to get response from customer support of this company.

aquired help from this technical service through HOT SPOT from walmart. did me absolutely no good. but paying for it. had to take HOT SPOT back to walmart, never did work... would not recomend them to anyone...
I purchased a Belkin router a few years ago and i got help setting it up online with a name of IYOGI and a phone number of [protected]. is this the same contact number that you had? they kept calling me and kept blowing them off. I never noticed any charge on my credit card but will certainly be looking for one in the future. i'll also look back into my past charges to see if i have anything like this. They definitely are a nuisance.
dell scam
Having a Dell computer with problems we googled "Dell Tech Assistance" and this website came up. We called the number shown thinking this was Dell. We were NEVER told that this was a company other than Dell. The person spoke horrible English and was very hard to understand. He told me I would have to pay first $139.95 for a tech visit than $250 and that it would be several days before a tech would be able to visit. After we hung up I realized that our Dell contract had 24 hour service. I again called Dell at a different number. They had no record of the previous call. Dell immediately dispatched a repair tech. Today another tech (from iyogi) called and was going to come. When I refused he apparently contacted iyogi who called me. They were very rude and argumentative, insisting that their tech should visit our business. I became quite vocal and demanded a refund. This was apparently not their usual way of dealing with customers and this person kept insisting that I had approved the charge. I insisted that due to the fact that his English was so poor I had no idea what I had approved and still thought I was dealing with Dell. Finally I was put through to customer service. Again they did not want to refund my money. After a loud, vocal, threatening conversation, I was told that it would be refunded. Dell should be warned that these people are posing as their representatives.
They should shut the whole company down. THEY are worthless. Someone might get a heart attack because of them.
Iyogi is a big scam. Their complaints to the New York City BBB continue to rise. Their CEOs direct line is [protected] Udhyan Challu. They won't refund your money unless you file a complaint online with the New York BBB. Also consider filing a complaint with ic3.gov online. Not only do they (Iyogi) impersonate Dell but also Avast, McAfee, Norton, Sony, and Macintosh. Check out more of Iyogi's dirty deeds on pissedconsumer.com, [redacted].com and scambook.com.
Aggressive sales tactics
They use aggressive sales tactics, trying you to buy more from them and offer products you already have. Also tried to force me to subscribe for 3 years instead of 1.
incompetence
I have not personally been scammed by iyogi, in fact they have helped my business. I am a PC Tech with over 20 years experience. Recently I've gained 3 new loyal customers after cleaning up the mess caused by iyogi on their machines by their so called technicians who believe you fix any problem just by running a few malware scans using a remote assistance connection and deleting a few files. After making sure they could not access these machines again and do any more damage I proceeded to fix the problems that iyogi was supposed to fix in the first place. (And cheaper: I don't waste time I fix the problem and go to the next job.) They were actually simple software conflicts that any experienced tech should have been able to correct in a few minutes. I had not heard of iyogi before this but I've seen plenty of companies in the past that do the same thing. I just hate hearing about people being scammed by people like this that spend their hard earned money for a service that is never provided. The people you speak with at iyogi can not possibly be real tech support. They are just salespeople pushing their products.
I am not a competitor of iyogi nor do I intend to be. If my goal was to increase my own business then I would have also included the name of my business and contact information so that when my complaint was read the reader could be referred to me. I have enough business and do not want anymore thank you. My post was in fact very reserved. I simply stated facts and expressed my opinion without any profanity. Since this company has hundreds of thousands of customers they should not have to worry about the opinion of one person. I am also aware that a company of this size has more resources for legal expenses than myself and do not wish to waste my time or money in a court battle. It is my opinion that if iyogi is worried about their reputation then they should do the same thing I do and that is to make sure every customer is satisfied and not by threatening individuals such as myself with legal cost. Also let it be known that my original intentions upon returning to this site was to delete the original post and just let it go so that the other complaints could just speak for themselves. However it seems there is not an option to remove a posting from this site so I ask anyone reading this to ignore my original post and pretend it isn't there.

The link iYogi posts makes claim that Secure Remote Support wrote defamatory remarks against them? Why would they do that? After readying all of the horrible things about iYogi on the internet, im sure iYogi's customers were writing the negative reviews and just suggesting a better service. Im going to look into secureremotesupport.com, it looks like they might be onto something. If you have any question about whether or not to use this iyogi service, just google for iyogi reviews.
Failure to cancel auto renewal
After my CA Antivirus software started having problems, CA told me that my computer was the reason for the problems. CA Software referred me to iYogi who (someone from India) promptly told me that it would cost $169.99 to fix my computer. After paying this fee and spending several hours on the phone/computer with iYogi, they told me the CA software was at fault! The solution, ultimately, was to REMOVE the CA software. Months later, iYogi called and asked if I wanted to renew IYogi services...I said "no" and don't auto renew me. Well they did auto renew; I called CA and then iYogi and they gave me a cancellation confirmation number. A month later, they billed me again. I called iYogi, got a refund confirmation number. Now the same charge showed up on my Mastercard bill. Its pretty obvious this is SCAM that CA Software and iYogi participate in together. Don't use either service would be my recommendation.
Contact your attorney general. It's time these crooks are stopped. We ALL should file complaints with the Better Business Bureau, the attorney general of you state, and actually the federal agencies. IYOGI are a bunch of damned crooks!
Scam
www.iyogi.com is one of the biggest scams i have ever came across, did the membership for the year for unlimited support and every time i called them i was never helped nor could i understand them at all! It was like trying to speak with someone from another planet. Then when i t came cancel the membership they charged my card for the amount they owed me and now i gotta go out of my way to get the money back from the bank! I will say i went to WWW.PCDOC247.COM and they are amazing they helped me out with my issues in minutes its not all about money it felt like customer support and the main thing was i could understand them cause they are based in the U.S.

I am being charged for Norton anti-virus renewal, but being a CenturyLink customer I receive a prepaid (by CenturyLink) renewed update of Norton Anti-virus program
I paid my renewal just a few months ago. I would like you to remind me when it is due, but not before because you confuse me and I then spend a lot of time having to look and see when I last paid. If I owe, I pay, but I do not owe.
Thank you,
