2022 Keystone Passport 282QB rv camper
I purchased this camper new on 7/6/2022 and have taken it in for repairs 3 times. So far costing me over $385.00 gas taking into dealer in Grand Island, NE.
I will start the big list.
1) Drain under kitchen sink leaks in 2 spots.
2) Entry door does not lock from inside camper.
3) Cabinet door below stove does not latch.
4) Pantry door by dinette table does not latch.
5) Several staples in bedroom and bathroom cabinets not all of the way in.
6) Trim above the dinette and couch was not fully attached, falling down.
7) Outside storage unit by entry door does not lock with key.
8) Shower door come falling down from header channel during first use.
9) The sealant on 4 corners of roof by the gutter drains was black sealant all cracked ready to leak on next rain.
10) The shade above the kitchen stove had the shade cord squeezed in under the stove top.
11) The large fender skirt on the side of slide out is not very well supported. During travel a crosswind pushes the skirt out ready to bust.
12) The extension table at the kitchen counter had 2 screws fall out of bracket. The screws were stripped out.
13) Screen door does not latch when shut.
14) When air conditioner is running and water is draining off of camper, the water is running down the wall of the camper behind the awning and runs over outside electrical outlet.
15) Inside the outdoor storage units the inside finish is tore and falling off.
16) The decal on the front of my camper has a crack in it.
17) The shade above the couch would not stay up when opened.
18) One fender skirt missing 2 screws.
19) Camper was to have a 8 cubic Frig and we received a 7 cubic ft Frig. False advertisement.
20) Outdoor antenna hookups did not work.
Desired outcome: Fix my camper and pay all travel expenses, Provide outdoor ladder on camper at no charge or give me my money back. All of it!
Possible mold in underbody insulation
I have a keystone travel trailer that leaked water from 4 different locations the first time I tried to put water in the fresh water holding tank, We were on a two week trip at the time so we didn't know what to do about it we didn't use the water supply in the trailer and waited untill we got back home amd took it to the dealer.
The service guy wanted to know why we didn't put a fan on it to dry it out, I didn't know how to do that, put a fan where and how, we were on a trip. He said it's dry now and mold cannot form on it. there was a lot of water came out the front and back of the trailer.
This is not a complaint, it's a question, do I just let it go and later find out I have mold forming from the water?
What to do?
VIN 4YDT29322M3111806
Purchased from Gander RV in Oklahoma City, now Camping World !
Desired outcome: Let me know if I should do anything else to make sure mold does not form in the insulation?
2017 Outback RV Trailer
Purchased the Outback RV in 2017 and floor got soft in rear of trailer in 2020. Now floor is soft in bathroom. August 2022 had a RV repairman look at this and he says the toliet has been leaking most likely since new. Floor is rotten all around toliet and now spreads to the hall and bathroom floor. He says the RV he can repair but 8000.00. He really believes it should go back to the factory and be rebuilt from floor up.
Desired outcome: Keystone take the trailer back to there factory and rebuild from floor up.
Keystone Outback 291UBH
Pantry door began to sag and pull away from the wall. The problem is that the three roller bars on the bottom of the door that are designed to assist with the weight do not actually touch the floor. Keystone RV refuses to fix the problem or cover it with warranty. They have even gone so far as to tell me they roller bars are not designed to touch the floor. But don't seem to be able to answer how they are supposed to assist with the weight of the door if they do not touch the floor.
Anyone on here care to explain how three roller bars mounted to the bottom of the door, but that do not touch the floor, can assist with the weight?
Desired outcome: Fix my unit....
Keystone OUtback 240 urs 2020
May 8, 2022, 10 am. My 3 year old fell on the outside pull out steps, resulting in to a bad facial laceration and injuries requiring an ambulance ride and ER visit. This resulting from the sharp edges (like razors) on the edges of the two top stairs. on both sides. The stairs are in perfect shape, and the state they were manufactured.
Desired outcome: medical cost reimbursement, stair manufacture made aware and to fix this harmful edge so this does not happen to other children or animals.
Passport ultra lite
I purchased a brand new 2870RL
Picked up in Aransas Pass Texas beginning of March. Told the dealer I would be back in two weeks to pick it up and I would be driving it to Dallas Texas 7 hours away. Went through the normal stuff showing all the accessories and stuff but never hooked it up to water because it was still freezing in some places in Texas. Drove to RV Resort in Waxahachie and set it up, three days afterwards the hot water heater was not working and there were leaks. I fixed the leaks behind toilet. Howdy Had a local Rv repair guy come out change a diode two days later it went out again. Howdy sent a new dometic heater installed using local Rv repair guy. After that Howdy manager and service manager either quit or got fired. New manager and service manager wouldn’t return calls. Once I got ahold of the new service manager she basically said it’s my issue and wasn’t going to help. When I told her it was BS she made statement that I cussed and she hung up? Called Keystone and they gave me local dealers that could look at the issue, I called two and both taking appointments in August! I have since installed a on demand at my cost. So far brand new RV has cost me 1600.00 after I got it!
Desired outcome: Seems like a good time to make it right and figure out why your RV keeps burning up heater
Keystone Hideout 28RKS
I bought a new RV with a nice floor plan. The problems started almost immediately, within a week of using the RV. The workmanship was so poor that trim work was falling off, plumbing was leaking, water came in from an outside leak and the black water drain valve was assembled wrong making it most difficult to open. Plus a few other minor issues such as the front door not well aligned and seat cushions that were supposed to have Velcro the didn’t. The hinges on the lift-up bed snapped.
I tried to use the dealership for warranty work. They couldn’t get me in for at least 2-3 months and then couldn’t estimate how long it would take to fix. I could not do without my RV for that long, so I called Keystone and found out how use a mobile tech. I had to have them out three times and submitted my invoices and pictures as instructed.
Keystone never responded to my submission. I had to keep calling (at least four times) to find out the status of my reimbursement. After each call, I was promised someone would call me back. It never happened! Finally, on my last call, I find out all my invoices were denied because the mobile tech did not document well enough. Everything the tech repaired was documented.
Bottom line is I am out between $500 and $1000 with no hope of recovery of money I spend due to poor workmanship. Getting a lawyer to fight them would cost me more, so basically I was cheated by Keystone.
I do not recommend anyone buy a Keystone RV! The quality is poor and customer service is terrible. They are a big company taking advantage of average folks.
Desired outcome: I want the money for my warranty work with the exception of the grounding rod which has nothing to do with Keystone.
Keystone Outback 299URL
Dear Keystone:
I am writing to tell you how dissatisfied I am in my purchase of the above travel trailer from Camping World of Kingstone, New York. I am dissatisfied with Camping World as well as with Keystone and the travel trailer itself. I recently purchase this travel trailer, brand new, in June 2021, from Camping World. (1) The first thing that went wrong was that an employee of Camping World let me leave their facility in Kingston, NY to drive 3 hours north up in the mountains of up-state NY without brakes on the camper. I was told that it was the plug on my Toyota Tundra that had something wrong with it. It was 95+ degrees that day and I had already waited 5 hours and I had made arrangements to pick up the trailer that day, so I was already not happy. I purchased the back-up camera and understand that it needed to be installed, however, the trailer should have been ready since I had made an appointment to pick up the trailer well in advance. So, I leave Camping World WITHOUT brakes on the camper and drive 3 hours north up into the mountains. I make an appointment with my Toyota dealer to have the breaking system checked out and they could not find anything wrong. They tell me I need to make an appointment and bring the trailer with me so they can figure out what is wrong. However, I had already made reservations at a campground, so I take the trailer to the campground first (dry camping, no hook-ups), (2) and there is where I find out the refrigerator is not backed up by propane, my battery dies from trying to keep all of my food cold, and I have to throw out a lot of food and purchase another battery. Not to mention the refrigerator does not close correctly. (3) Then is also when I find out that the pull-out full-size bed does not lay flat, and actually leans backwards! (4) I also realize that the bathroom sink is shoved into such a tight spot, that it makes it hard to brush your teeth!
After my dry-camping experience I make another appointment with Toyota and drive back down the mountain to find out it is not my truck that has the problem, it is the camper! I call Camping World and explain that I had just driven down the mountain 1.3 hours without breaks on the trailer and could I drop off the camper that same day and was told NO, they didn't have any room. So ... I drive the trailer back up the mountain 1.3 hours and "the next day", mind you, drive back down the mountain 3 hours (still NO BREAKS) to Kingston to drop off the trailer. I explain what happened, tell them about the refrigerator and explain that the heater makes a lot of noise. It takes Camping World Three (3) to evaluate the trailer, contact Keystone, and tell me that nothing is covered by my warranty and that I have to pay to have the breaks fixed because there was a very tiny nick in the rubber that covers the wires which attach from the trailer to the truck, so therefore it is my fault! Also, they tell me the refrigerator doesn't have a propane backup and there is nothing wrong the way it closes, and the heater is just fine.
I am DONE with Camping World!
I pay to have the trailer's breaks fixed, figure out a fix for the refrigerator and start my once in a lifetime trip with my 90-year-old mother and the first time I need the heater it doesn't work! Thank God I was near a friend's house and we could stay with her while again, I pay to have the heater fixed. I am a month into this trip and I am getting so aggravated, I have tried everything to make the pull-out bed flat.
I would like to know who designs the layout of these things? Because it certainly isn't anyone who uses them.
An unsatisfied customer,
Donna L. Draper
Desired outcome: I would like to be reimbursed the for $1,000.00; and I would like you to make the designers live in them and use everything so that they know what they are doing when they design the up-coming models.
2021 passport gt 2400rb
I have a 2021 Keystone Passport GT 2400RB. It's a piece of JUNK. I have made five or six 300 mile round trips to have my camper worked on. Fridge door warped. Cabinet door warped. Big chunk of plywood was missing from the end of the bed and splintered out. Someone took a new bed out of another camper and replaced it with a used one that was ripped on the bottom, Stabilizer jacks only worked on one side. Top of shower door was broken. Every single time I drove the camper somewhere, about half of the light covers would jiggle loose and come off. Last time I took it to get something fixed, 5 of them had fallen off the inside of the camper. Bedroom and Bathroom doors would keep coming off the track. Shades screws in two places just popped out of the wall. One more shade will not come down. Sawdust still comes out everywhere after you have taken it somewhere. Most have been fixed. Here is the kicker. I climbed on the ladder on the back of the camper to walk on the roof and the ladder broke and I fell on the hard surface on my back. In bed for a total on and off for over 2 weeks. Did Keystone care? Not one single bit. I was given a $750.00 goodwill check with extra attached to it for a new mattress I bought. That didn't even make a dent in my losses of lots of money. That doesn't count the injury to me due to the negligence of Keystone RV for not securing a ladder on the back of the camper correctly. I have had my camper for 6 months. That is half of the factory warranty. I asked them to extend my warranty and they refused. They asked me what I wanted. I said I would settle for $5000.00 and extend my warranty. They refused that also. I am going to let the news media, the Attorney General's office, the court system, and do other things so this doesn't happen again to someone else. I am the type who will never sit still for something done wrong to me. They will probably reply with a standard answer like most. I wish I had read the BBB reviews before I bought this lemon piece of JUNK. I will not stop until Keystone stops taking advantage of people. I have already talked to a lot on Facebook and other sites about the problems they have. This is far from over. I forgot to mention that the propane regulator is bad on my unit and there is a recall on it and it will be February before I can buy one since KEYSTONE is out of them. I ordered one that will not be here until about February 10th 2022. By then, that should eat up most of my warranty. UPDATE :They offered me a $1800.00 settlement, but after reading the release form they sent me to sign I refused it and told them to keep the money. They basically want me to sign a piece of paper saying I hold nobody with Keystone RV or the dealer I bought it from responsible for anything. They also said in so many words I need to keep my mouth shut and not tell people anything about the problems I had with Keystone RV and not to discuss it with anyone and that's a joke, so they can keep the money they offered and I am stuck with this piece of junk.
Desired outcome: To let others know
2020 dutchman voltage 3615
i have a 2020 Dutchman Voltage 3615 .Waiting to hear back about a issue i have with the tires and rims that are put on by factory. Over a week for a very important issue. I have had multiple blow outs on my toyhauler resulting in body and rim damage. According to the keystone manufacture the tire are under warranty. well that's not the case. The tire are rated at max load 3950lbs @ 4 tires thats 15800 max. Rims rated at 3750 max load @4 rims that's 15000. The toyhauler has a max load listed on site and on toyhauler as a max load 16800. The tire manufacture say they can not warranty a tire that is put on something that has a max weight of more then the tire can handle. to me this is not just a tire issue, its a safety issue. I bought this camper and paid more then 80k for a product that i cant even use for what it is supposed to use. To me this camper should not be on the road and i didn't not get what i paid for. This was defiantly false advertisement and a flat out lie to the consumer
Desired outcome: want a camper that can handle my max load i paid for. should be able to return and get one fit for what i need it for and what i paid for
The quality of this product is ridiculous!!
I've had my Rv for 6 months and everything has fallen apart! The command center stopped working, the fireplace isn't putting out heat, seals in water pump have gone bad, having problems with the jacks and leveling system only working half the time, trim around the doors is coming apart, the slide in the bedroom doesn't come in or go out straight, staples popping out of the walls…you name it, everything is breaking. I cannot believe that Keystone can get away with building something so poorly and then legally sell it. Especially for the price they do. My RV is a 2021 and people I know that have trailers 10 and 20 years older from different manufacturers don't have nearly the problems with theirs that I do. I am appalled and want my money back. I don't even want this trailer anymore. Take back your lemon!
P.S. I tried setting an appointment to fix these issues and was told i can't get in until February. Not only should I not have to need to bring this in so soon after purchase but, I also work on the road and having to wait that long is a HUGE inconvenience.
Desired outcome: Give back RV and get my money back
Accounts Payable
This is in reference to a repair we did back in March.
March 15, 2021 - We submitted a quote for Mr. Mike Grissom (LW107455) in the amount of 355.88 on March 15, 2021.
March 16, 2021 - We submitted photos per Keystone's request.
March 17, 2021 - Ms. Victoria (Torrie) Timmreck sent an email stating the service department agreed to reimburse the amount of $195.88. We submitted our invoice for the agreed amount. Ms. Timmreck responded that the invoices were submitted to the service department for review.
March 29, 2021 - Ms. Timmreck responded that the breakdown was $45 in labor and the $20 for shop supplies (parts) for a total of $65. This is not what was agreed upon.
I have made a few more requests for a response regarding this matter and nothing happens. I really frustrated that we have not been paid the $195.88 originally agreed upon and we have in black and white. If this cannot be resolved here and now; I will have to contact our attorney regarding this matter. We are a small business and cannot afford to perform warranty work for Keystone until this matter is resolved.

2016 sprinter 298 (fifth wheel)
We have bought our Sprinter new and have taken good care of it. Actually really like our RV. Just a couple of problems that have been resolved due to the fact we have extended warranty until the end of this year and the Forever Warranty, since we take it in for inspections each year. The complaint we have and nobody can answer is the outside of our camper shows the structure lines in it with a lot of oxcidation. We have always taken good care of it, waxed several times etc but now the lines do not come out. Took it two an auto body shop and also a detailer and they said they could maybe try to buff it out, clean, and wax but the cost is $2800. None of the RV dealers can help us out or even let me know if under warranty. Have not seen any other trailers do what ours is doing. Maybe you can help or repair it for us.

Keystone Montana 5th Wheel RV
On April 24th I reached out to Keystone and let them know I had an issue with my RV and a wonderful lady called me and asked me to email her the issues so that we can get the issues resolved.
On April 25th I did send Lisa pictures and a descriptions of all the issues that need to be addressed. I even put them in a spreadsheet.
On April 27th she responded to let me know that now Keystone is aware of the issues and that when y RV goes into the dealership they can get the requests done and that this should help the process. I did let her know that I was very leery on taking it in because I have heard the horror stories of the long wait times on getting things repaired.
May 1st I took my RV to the dealership and was told to make an appointment (I called on the 28th of April and spoke to Paula and I had an appointment they forgot to log it in).
May 10th I took the RV back in and walked the entire RV with Paula and explained that Keystone was already aware of the issues and will help get the process going. We went over all of the details of the issues and I told her that I did not want anything just repaired it needed to be fixed and or replaced. I let her know that when we purchased the RV that the radio did not work on the walk thru and it was (repaired) by the dealership. The repair that was done was that the fuse tabs were bent over so that the fuse would stay in the socket. The first time we went to use it a spark came out and I shut it off. Took it to a dealership in Alabama and they showed me what Holiday World did. It actually cause the fuse holder to widen and therefore did not make a good connection. I gave her the email that I sent Lisa and gave her Lisa's email address if she needed any help. I then showed her the siding and made no mistakes and said that the siding needs to be replaced because it actually came off on the freeway in Starkville Mississippi. I showed her the screws that I had to put into the metal to keep it from falling off and the silicone to prevent rain from getting in.
On or about June 10th about a month I had not heard a thing about my RV and I called and spoke to Paula and she said that all of the parts are in and that I should get my RV back soon. I did find out in this conversation that the bathroom door knob was replaced and that no leaks could be found on the auto level jacks even thou I had to put in a gallon of oil in the tank because the jacks didn't work. I guess it disappeared. The next day she called me and asked if I wanted to purchase covers for my slide outs. I said I would think about it.
June 10th seems to be the day the replacement chair was ordered. RV had been there for a month
I started calling Keystone and spoke to a gentleman and informed him of the issues and he informed me that the chair had just been ordered and that no dinette table, siding, stereo or any other parts had been ordered. During this conversation I explained to him that I did not want the siding repaired because it has holes it in and that it needed to be replaced. He called Holiday World and spoke to them about the issue. He told them to get the request in so it could be processed.
Three weeks had past I went to the dealership to see how my RV was coming and they said that the siding was repaired and that all they were waiting on was the chair. This came directly from Cameron. I asked him did the siding get replaced he said no it was repaired and it was a good repair. I explained to him and the gentleman at the desk the siding was to be replaced not repaired. It was bent and had holes in it. I said again it came off on the damn freeway and I had to reattach it in a Lowes parking lot. I also asked if the stereo was replaced and he said yes. I pressed him and said are you sure because Keystone has no record of Holiday World requesting the new stereo. I never got a real answer.
On or about July 12th I called again to Holiday World and left three voice mails and never got a call back. I called Keystone again and spoke to a person and they had informed me that the siding was just ordered and that it was being shipped. I was also told that the chair was also being shipped as well.
On July 15th package number [protected] arrived at Holiday World and J Behl signed for it.
On or about July 16th I called again to Holiday World and got no return calls. I then called Keystone to find out that the siding had arrived on the 15h to the dealership and the chair was there as well. So I went to the dealership and inquired about the status of my RV and Cameron said that no packages came in and that Keystone was lying. I left very upset and called Keystone back and found out that the package that was delivered was the chair but the siding was sent by three day air and was set to arrive on the 17th of July.
On or about the 26th or the 27th of July I called for status and was never told anything no calls back. So I called Keystone and told them that it's been a long time and that my RV should be done. Later that day I received a call from Cameron and he said that my RV would be ready by the end of the week. HE also said that he put the order in for the siding. This part was confusing because according to the tracking number they got the metal in on the 17th of July.
July 30th I called Holiday World and got a call back late on Friday stating that my RV would be ready possibly Saturday morning or sometime Saturday and that they would call me. I never got a call on Saturday
August 3rd or 4th again I called Keystone because I did not get a response from Holiday world. I informed that lady that I was speaking with that I was supposed to get my RV back on Saturday but was never called. She then called Cameron and he told her that my RV was ready and that all of the repairs and warrantee work was completed and that he tried to call, me. I said ma'am I was never called. She even said that Holiday World told me that we could have used our RV while they waited on parts. I said ma'am I was never told that by anyone and that this was the first I have heard that.
August 7th I went to Holiday world to get my RV and was told by Cameron that all of the warrantee work was completed. I have attached the pictures of the warrantee repairs that he said meets Keystone standards notice the date on the Iphone picture it is August 7th. Remember he told three of Keystone reps that my warrantee work was done. These are his words and when I called him out on it with my wife (as a witness) along with two others in the parts and service department, I called him a liar I stated I was never told that I could use my RV, I was never called the week prior to pick up my RV on Saturday and that the siding was still not replaced. Again remember he told Keystone the work was done. When my wife and I left we were both told that the work would be completed by Wednesday August the 11th my wife said that you can have it thru Thursday because I was going to be out of town till Thursday the 12th.
I called Keystone on August 9th and explained to them the issues with the lying and bullcrap I was dealing with, She called Cameron while I was on hold and after she spoke to him she came back to me and said that Cameron told her that the repairs will be done by Thursday the 12th. I said maam he stated last week that the warrantee work was completed that's what he told Keystone and myself. Her response well I guess you caught him in a lie.
Here it is the 18th of August and still waiting on parts that should have been ordered months ago. If they would have removed the siding back in July when they received it they would have seen that they would need additional parts.
Bottom line is this the work is being done because of no fault of mine.
My RV has been in the Dealership that sells Keystone Montana products
Holiday World Sells and services Keystone products
I have made 4 payments of $750.00 per month that my RV has been our of my possession.
I had to pay for hotels in Gainesville Texas because my RV was in the dealership having warrantee work completed. This cost is over $1, 800.00 when I should have not had to pay a dime.
I have lost 4 months of use of my RV at no fault of mine.
I have lost 4 months of warrantee time because its been in the dealership
So this is what I want or close to it.
Extend my warrantee out four more months (could not use).
Pay me back for two months of payments $1, 500.00 I will send you confirmation of payments
Pay me back the 1, 800.00 dollars for the hotels that I had to pay for because my RV was in the dealership. I will send you backup for this as well.
I do believe that this is reasonable considering all of the phone calls and the anguish that I have had to deal with. Yall know as well I as do that this dealership has had my RV to long and that I have done most of the leg work for Holiday World. You know it as well I I do that this is not customer service and that someone needs to be held accountable. Please let me know what you think and after that I will send you the back up. That you need.
Also please keep on these guys they are giving yall a bad name here. I spoke to three people at the dealership that stated that Cameron got their RV back in June and that they have not heard a work and they were very upset at them and Keystone.
Desired outcome: Pay me back the money i have lost due to my RV being in the dealership getting warrantee work done for the past 105 days
Wow, we have been looking at different RV manufacturers. It’s coming down to who offers the best service after the sale.
Apparently it’s a huge issue !
New 2021 29BH Springdale
Hello,
We bought a new 2021 Springdale in March.
After bringing it home we notice that when turning on and off the light the thermostat also turned off, the slide light would not stay on, and the USB outlet would not worked. We took it to the place we got it from and they fixed it under the warranty. Now the fridge is not working and they said it could take 2 months before they could get a replacement fridge to fix it under the warranty. We have a lot of camping trips planned and now we can't even use our fridge. If I would of known we were going to have these problems from a brand new camper, I would of bought a different camper from a different company. We spent $30, 000 just for our fridge to not work 2 months into having it. I am extremely disappointed in the quality of the camper.
2013 cougar 26rlswe/life threatening potential.
The 12V system stopped operating when we arrived on one of our recent trips (It was working when we left home, drove 250 M). This was latter part of June this year. Use ice bags in the frig all week.
When we returned we had the system checked and the technician found the a factory installed screw in the front of the RV had worn through the electrical cable for the battery cutoff in the storage compartment. This caused a scorching of the area around the battery cutoff (pictures attached). Fortunately the breaker in the forward frame minimized the additional fire potential (the breaker was fried as it didn't reset).
This location, under the bedroom, was a serious, life threatening situation.
Recommend this quality/safety check by added to installation process.
Our family recently purchased a 2022 Jayco Swift Li 20TL for $121,000 and it was reduced to ashes recently in April 2023 while camping at Wekiva State Park in Florida. I am not blaming Jayco because the cause is unknown with many vendors or parts involved. The small explosion and fast fire engulfed the 22 foot motorhome in minutes. Technically the cause of the fire is unknown and better I do not mention names or blame anybody. We are waiting for the insurance to investigate and pay as a total loss. My sister had 2nd degree burns. Her cat had 3rd and 4th degree burns. My dad and sister barely made it out. Thanks god the explosion woke them up at around 3am.
All I can say is this:
1. Forget meeting minimum requirements of laws to protect your family and investments from accidental fire and I was told by a fire marshall to do the following:
2. Install multiple battery operated smoke alarms under the bunks next to any the lithium batteries, the inverter, any converters, generators, water pump, heater. Same for your own home where one usually places one in the hallway and not also in every bedroom.
3. Buy a self-activated fire extinguisher ball and place it over the stove and any attached outside grill
4. Buy two long 6 foot Automatic Fire Extinguisher Tubes that under both bed bunks if they have the lithium batteries, inverter, and a ton of wiring and switches hidden underneath. Brands are Proteng and Fireslayer. If I rent an RV in the future, I will carry my own safety devices kit with me and place them all over.
I was told by the fire marshall that there was smoldering smoke that was not detected by the single smoke detector on the roof. The electronics are in separate compartments with minimal airflow so make sure the smoke detectors are checked regularly and placed close to detect this initial smoldering smoke.
You were very close to losing your entire van and it is hard to prove anything when all the devices and electronics become ashes. I see the problem is not brand specific so protect yourself and your family. God bless you. We spend a ton of money on the RVs but forget to spend a little more for automatic fire extinguishing technologies that are relatively cheap and never ever discussed in sales presentations or offered as add-ons.
heat/cooling systems inadequate for rv.
Purchased 2018 Keystone Montana high Country 362RD in Joly 2018, and have had issues with the heating/cooling systems provided. Since I became a full timer, this rv is unable to be cooled sufficiently in the warm months due to lack of sufficient air conditioners this unit has 5 slides and is 41ft long. Too much open space for just 2 air conditioners. The...

Purchased 2018 Keystone Montana high Country 362RD in July 2018. for the additional living space it provided (rear den). This Rv advertises it has an Artic package included, but no additional insulation is added, therefore it isn't really cold weather equipped. This rv has 5 slides and is 41ft long, and only has one furnace for heating the entire rv.
The furnace is installed in the front of the rv, and is insufficient for heating the rear den. There is a 20 degrees variation colder between livingroom and rear den, which does not allow me to use in colder weather.
Cooling this rv is just the same issue, as there are only two air conditioners. and they are placed on each end of rv. The livingroom is a sauna in the summer with both air conditioners running during the day. Keystone put no thought in the comfort of living in this rv!
Keystone is unwilling to assist me in the resolution of these issues.
Beware Beware they are not what they claim! They celebrated one millionth unit produced in August 2019, but they met that goal, by foregoing quality workmanship, just to achieve that status/ money!

Long story short: GENERAL RV and KEYSTONE will sell you a "brand-new" camper that is faulty and defective, with water leaks and other major issues, within a few months of purchase and expects you to be satisfied. The long story is below. We have refrained from posting a review online because we were...
Read full review of Keystone RV2014 keystone laredo 302bh fifth wheel, front cap fad/oxidizing
I have a problem with the Front cap of my 2014 Keystone Laredo 302BH Fifth Wheel, The Front Cap is oxidizing real bad and the paint is fading off.. The factory gel coat paint does not have a UV inhibitor and fades quickly. The only cure is to re-paint the cap. The front cap is about an 8x8 area in the front of the RV. Keystone RV Company will not cover it. Just my opinion, dealing with Keystone is a waste of time. Customer satisfaction is not high on their list. The fading started just after the 1 year warranty had expired. Unfortunately this is not an item that Keystone would participate with warranty coverage and Keystone will not cover it. They know this is an issue from a supplier they use. From what I find on the Internet is that a lot of 2013, 2014 and 2015 Keystone models are all fading. I did find others like Crossroads, Cougar and Jayco are doing the same thing. When you spend $ 50, 000 on an RV and the front cap fades so bad that it looks like the RV is 10 years old and it’s less than two years old, that’s a problem and someone or some company needs to be accountable. If they know they have a problem with the paint on the front caps then why would they continue to supply bad paint. I don’t understand. I don’t have $ 2, 500 to $ 3, 000 to have someone repaint the front cap when Keystone should step up and take ownership and pride in suppling RV’s. I have filed a complaint with the BBB on April 14th. At this point a Class Action Lawsuit needs to be filed at the state level.
I own a 2014 Keystone Cougar and the front cap looks absolutely terrible! The side walls are starting to oxidize really bad so i took it to a detail shop and they couldn't get the sides to look any better. They tried buffing them out with a compound and could not get the oxidation off even a little. He mentioned he has never seen a camper this new look this bad. I am at a loss of what to do to get this repaired. I cannot believe I own a camper that is 3 years old and looks like its 10 or more years old.
