Repair on couch owned for a year taking forever
We were advised to shop at Leons instead of the brick because Leons' furniture lasts longer and doesnt break easy like the brick's does. Well weve had our three section reclining couch for less than a year and one of the springs has popped out in the middle section of it. We called them months ago. They have since then given us three seperate dates for repairs to occur all of which never actually happened. We are beyond frustrated. We had a one year waranty and because they waited so long to come fix it the warranty has expired and so everytime I call to check up on the status of the repair they just say its over the warranty. We are extremely disapointed as this is the first piece of furniture we have purchased together, and I can say for sure that the next time we need to go furniture shopping we will stay the hell away from leon's. I have no idea what ever happened to customer service, its pretty clear that these guys dont have a clue how to please the customer.
mattress warranty
Bought a mattress frame and mattress cover with extended warranty. Gave me the wrong mattress then when I went to exchange it they said there will be no warranty on the correct mattress unless I buy another mattress at 200$. Why the f*#ck do I need another mattress cover? Which by the way completely took away from the comfort of mattress itself by too much padding an just uncomfortable in general.
Going through the the same thing! Purchased a matress with the sleep tight guarantee but had to exchange it as it isn't comfortable . This matress is 2" shorter so we are losing our pillow in between matress and headboard. Called today and said we didn't purchase the sleep tight for this matress . I said we did already and they said you had to buy one for this new matress. So because we didn't she won't exchange it. Said she will talk to gm and see if they can exchange it with a restocking fee. It has the same damn cover on it! Your telling me that they won't sell it as a new one! Ya right. Will see what happens. If they don't exchange this it will be the last time I step foot in a leons store!,
leather couch and loveseat
I purchased a leather couch and love seat from Leons in Brockville in 2011. I had them come to my home and repair the stitching that was comming loose on the love seat. That was about a year or so later also I told them that the arm on the couch had fallen They did nothing about that.Just into the fourth year of owning them all the material on the insides of the love seat and the couch peeled off. Therefore they are garbage. They came out last week and took pictures and told me they would get back to me. They e-mail and talked to the manufacturer and called me and said they were only willing to give me the 229.00 dollar leather care package that I purchased to put towards something else in their store.I am very displeased as I have always gone to leons but their products lately are junk. I want at least half of the money back to purchase another one . Please respond at [protected]@sympatico.ca Please help me out.
bait $ switch/ poor service
Leons advertised special in Dec 20th, 2014 flyer for Queen (Sunset 1110 Headboard. My son went in to purchase the headboard and of course none were available/sold out, but went ahead and purchased the item because it was a Christmas gift for me. He drove 23km into Calgary on Dec 23rd to purchase and pick up the headboard, but was informed they were sold out, however they could order it in and deliver for a additional delivery fee of $50.00. So he placed they order, unfortunately he neglected to ask for a delivery date nor was one given by the salesperson. He presented me with the invoice Christmas Day.
Upon reviewing invoice I noticed the delivery date was 12/06/49, which I thought was just a mix up on their part so I attempted to contact the delivery and service department at Leons Dec 26th and only got their voicemail, which I expressed I needed knowledge of a delivery date and to contact me. When they still had not returned my call by Dec 30th I contacted their customer service department and spoke with someone who attempted to explain that the delivery date on the invoice was a default date when they are unsure of when THEY (Leons) will receive another headboard in and she still was unsure of when they would get it in (even though I checked on line to see if other stores had it available and found that there were 2 in Edmonton, 2 in Saskatchewan and 5 in Winnipeg). After expressing my disappointment she said she would have the salesperson contact me tomorrow Dec 31st.
Its Jan 3rdI have yet to receive any of calls back from the delivery department nor the salesperson and have no idea how long or when the headboard will be delivered.
purchase of washer and dryer
I purchased a sofa and love seat at leons in july 2014 and yesterday I went to purchase a washer and dryer The sotre gave me 5000.00 limit for in store purchases when I went to swipe my leon's dejardin visa for confirmation they refused to let me purchase the appliance because all of a sudden I couldn't use the rest of my in store credit limit they approved for me never will I return to leons again. Unless they abide by there giving me the crdit limit for in store purchases.
extremely poor quality products
We bought a coffee table and 2 end tables from Leon's about a month ago. On the day of the delivery, we were told that we had to assemble the tables on our own. We didn't mind that idea... until we realized that the Coffee table didn't come with ANY hardware and the main piece that holds up the table top has a huge crack. The end tables did come with hardware, but it wasn't complete. We called customer service letting them know of the missing hardwares so she sent out a tech to put it together for us almost a week later. When the Technician came, he gave us 2 options: he'll fill out a report for an exchange or he'll put the table together with the cracked piece. We chose the first option and boy what a mistake that was. A week later I get a call from Leon's letting me know the new coffee table is here for delivery. WW got the table today and guess what... NO HARDWARES AGAIN! I really don't know how this company can expect people to put anything together themselves without providing them with screws and washers! Anyways I called customer service again and they sent out another technician. We thought everything was finally working out until the Technician tells us that the table legs were not even. H can't do anything to fix it because he's never seen a table leg that's more than an INCH off the ground! I've fully lost confidence in the competence level of this store (the tech was very nice though). I truly do not understand how they can mess up something so simple and pre - packaged (even after "inspecting it before delivery") 2 times IN A ROW for the same thing... And both times it's for the same reasons too!

whirlpool duet front loader washing machine
I have had a washing machine that has been showing the same error code F2 E3 since July of 2014 I purchased the washing machine in April of 2013..I have been on the phone between 15 to 20 times with Leon's extended warranty trying to have someone help either replace my machine or fix my problem, in which I've spent hours on hold between them 15-20 times in total...my problem is still not fixed as of September 27, 2014 and I am a very dissatisfied customer...I have had 3 different technicians come out to my home to "fix" my machine from two different companies...standard appliances came out and took two weeks to order me a new counter board and lock clip
which solved the issue for about three weeks...The second technician came from Home appliances he stayed for five minutes and said that he thought I didn't have the washer on a sturdy enough platform and was ordering a new counter board, enough said I waited with no phone calls, so I called the Leon's extended warranty yet again, on their lovely suggestion box it was noted I needed to move the machine from the platform and put it on the floor and see how it worked and then call home appliances and let them know if there were any changes in which there weren't but it would have been nice for the technician to inform me that this should have been done so that I could try and have this resolved sooner...I called them back and they sent another technician from home appliances who showed me on his tablet what the error code meant...it was the water pressure gauge apparently or a loose connection so he fiddled with the cords and said if it did the error code again he would call me at 8am to see if it had occurred in which I recieved no phone call from the technician...so I called home appliances to leave a message to let them know that their technician had not called me back as said that he would...she then said she would send out another technician..I said I do not want another technician he current technician has told me exactly what part my machine needs...so she proceeded to put me on hold to speak with the technician...he said he would call me to schedule an appointment as soon as he gets the part...so he comes out to my home says he tested the new part and compared it to the part on the machine and said that he cannot replace a part if the machine does not show that it needs it...so he said he made sure that the wires were all secure and that that was my underlying problem...I took a break from my machine until today Saturday September 27.2014 in which after 2 loads of laundry my washer err red out again...so I'm very irate by now and I called the general manager from Leon's who informed me that he'll call me back on Tuesday after he speaks with Leon's extended warranty to try and resolve my problems...he said that they may try and replace the washing machine but they no longer sell my make and model and was wondering if I would be ok with a newer make and model but I would have to pay a difference they would possibly pay the percentage of 50-70...I bought a machine not so that I could put money towards another machine I should not have to pay any difference of anything...he said they also may want to keep trying to ficx the machine w

unhelpful associates
I got a 12 month interest free financing loan from Desjardin through Leons Furniture on 137 Ave in Edmonton, I made all of my payments on time and one day when I went into Leons I asked the gentlman who was helping me to give me the TOTAL BALANCE OWING as I wanted to pay the amount off entirely, he gave me an amount and assured me numerous times that after I paid the amount he stated that there would be nothing left owing. A month later I get a Final Notice from Desjardin in the mail, when I took it to Leons to inquire they advised I still had a balance left, I was very frustrated and stressed my frustration in a nice way to the next associate that helped me out when I went, I cannot totally blame the associate helping me as I do believe it is partially up to the clients discression to keep up with payments, however as a customer I expect a service that if I have questions or am unsure about something I trust that they know and understand as they are selling the product so should be able to comprehend the documents and should not treat customers who are coming in frustrated with the mix up by giggling. All we as customers want is to be able to have someone explain and understand what they are explaining to us especially when their mix up could wreck someones credit score, that to me is nothing to laugh about. I will never shop at a Leons location again due to the way I was treated by the front office staff whether I would be buying something in cash or financing it. I think the front office staff would greatly benefit from some training on how to read the documents from Desjardin so this does not happen to someone again. Thanks.
worst product / customer service
Never ever buy from Leon's. Take a U-Turn when you see Leon's store!
I bought a dining room set last year in 2013 after moving to my new home. Product was one of the best and expensive in its class. Within couple of weeks we started noticing chips on the table top. By the time the number of chips started expanding its area. After a year there were lots of chips on the table and paint is coming out as flakes.
I decided to contact Leon's in July, 2014. They told me they can't do anything as table is out of manufacturing warranty period of one year. It was just a one month over. I talked to CS Manager. He was so rude and stubborn and was not ready to listen to me. He was rather trying to pressurize me.
After sending them the pictures they decided to send a repair guy to fix the table, but the technician mentioned in his report that there is a major manufacturing defect in the table and he can only fix it at his workshop. No one followed up the matter after that. Again after a week I contacted them through email and In response I was confirmed that work order is being sent to the technician. Now today after 7 days I got another call from Leon's CSR that I have to pay $250-260 to get the table repaired.
Basically they are not trying to help me, instead I am feeling low and insulted every time I talk to them. If I am paying repair cost from my own pocket then why do I need Leon's there. It is their responsibility to get it done one they have decided to get it done through a technician.
poor product, do not stand behind their product
My mother recently purchased a new fridge, stove & dishwasher from Leon's in Peterborough and then left town for 2 weeks, came home, then left again for another week. The dishwasher does not even have the correct connector bit in order to be used. She turned the oven on for the first time yesterday and almost burned her hand on the top of the stove (the entire appliance got hot - this is a BIG risk!), and her fridge/freezer does not have a proper seal. Leon's refuses to replace the appliances, even when my mother offered to upgrade to a better (more expensive) brand. DO NOT SHOP AT LEON'S FOR APPLIANCES!

crappy furniture
We purchased a ($300) kids twin bedframe with mattress at
Leon’s (Calgary). After delivery and assembly, we found that the mattress is
loose within the bedframe by 3 to 4 inches all around, leaving exposed sharpy frame
edges all around
Marco, the technician sent by Leons’ said there is nothing
wrong with the mattress; on the contrary, that the bedframe was oddly bigger
that the correspondent mattress, and therefore nothing could be fixed at home.
Then, the Customer Service person called me and told me that
I have to live with it and that there’s no returns and only kept parroting “the
gap is for bedding!” 4 inches for
bedding? Should I tuck pillows in all around?
The bed that I sleep in fits the bedding perfectly in half
inch gap, and does not leave exposed edges like it happens with this horrible kid’s
bedframe.
Not recommend Leon’s (Calgary) at all. Never, never again
will buy anything from there, by far the worst and frustrating experience.

terrible experience ordering new fridge
Our fridge was broken so we ordered a new one online. The online page indicated that delivery was set for Monday. However, once the payment was taken from our credit card it changed to a delivery date in the year 2048. We called and were told that a new date would be set and that we would find out when the new date would be, but no one ever called back. When I called on the following Thursday I was told that it would be another month before the fridge would be in stock. I cancelled the order immediately and did not even receive so much as an apology for the delay. This was my first and last time ever shopping at Leon's.

Dear Sir/Madam
My name is Colleen Adams, I recently purchased to above items which were delivered on March the 9th. I have had nothing but problems with these units especially the washer, it constantly goes off balance and you have to pull out the load and rearrange it. Its wonderful to have sopping wet laundrry all over the floor because you cannot put the load entirely back in. As well the locking door is a pain because you must wait for the door to open to even fix it, as well the dryer keeps sensing the loads are dry but they are not the are still damp, now I know your thinking my loads are too big NO this is notthe case this has happened with any type of loads within the 7 days I had these units at least 6 times...ridiculous. My husband called the Burlington store and spoke to a few women and then the manager Gary we were pretty much told too bad apparently you have A NO RETURN POLICY...again ridiculous after only 7 days. We had the whirlpool repair man come yesterday he said he can find nothing wrong with the unit says this happens with this type of washer? but yet this machine is suppose to have sensors to adjust the load apparently they dont work and yet when I did a load again last night it happened again, the machine has been levelled again we checked there are no shipping pins in it. My feeling is this we asked to have these units taken back and offered to pay the difference for a different type we were told NO! and treated quite rudely in fact. I talked to your online people and said no where on your website does it say you have a no return policy she said you have to look in the frequently asked questions...WOW not very visible kind of shady in fact. Also I read your

You took my money and then pretty much told us too bad. I will not deal with the store any longer they are rude and do not wish to rectify anything
Very unsatisfied, in fact feel ripped off should have gone to Sears

poor quality, sales people lied to us
We where told the couch and chair where real leather in the front and bonded in the back only. When the chair started to chafe they tried to fix it and the man made it worse. They gave us a new chair, they said they felt bad. They did not have a matching chair so we took another style. They couch had started to chafe by that time. They said they would not cover it because we did not have extended warranty. But, when I read the warranty pamphlet the chafing would not be covered anyway and it would have cost us 75.00 dollars.
We email head office but to no avail. They just wanted us to call them again.

I will NEVER shop at Leon's ever again! I have spent thousands of dollars over the years at Leon's and to this day was pretty happy with it all. This time, I bought a $1699.00 couch set and when the delivery guys delivered it, I asked to have a few minutes to inspect it. The guy said, that's why you have 3 days to inspect. it. Well as soon as they left I looked at it and saw that the chaise part had some pretty prominent damage on the back, and over time it would have separated and would become a hole. I called and they were happy to bring me a new one. When delivery guys showed up, they looked pissed. That was one thing...then when I inspected it I found more of the same damage as first time and this one also had a pretty bad squeaky back. So I called immediately. The first sales guy said oh no problem, we will send out a guy to repair it and also we will refund you $250. Then he realized what he had said and tried to change the story. I asked to speak with the manager. First the sales guy said she was busy with another customer. So I waited. She finally came on the phone and right away started arguing with me. She also said that she was standing right beside the sales guy and heard every word he said. I said oh really, he said you were busy with other customers. She argued and argued about what the sales guy offered. I was so upset I started to cry...she says, it's up to you if you make yourself upset. Really? I told her. omg...I couldn't believe what I was hearing from this b-atch. I finally ended up taking the $250 refund and no repairs. I will never ever again shop at Leon's. This was only part of the story...I could have gone on and on. But in a nutshell, this was what happened. I will also report them to the Better Business Bureau and I will call head office. I will call them till I'm blue in the face. I will not let this go. Hopefully they will realize that they can not treat customers this way. Don't shop there.
We bought a couch at discount because we saw a small pen mark on one of the cushions...well good thing I turned over another, there was even a larger ink mark on that one, so when they came back and I pointed it out they knocked off another $100, I said okay! But, I let them know the jig was up and being up front is better than loser a customer for life.
Well they did, I just did not tell them, just like they did with the 'hidden' blemishes they were vague about! This is Lethbridge by the way!
bait and switch
I saw an flyer ad for a Sealy mattress and was interested. I also saw a TV ad the night before I visited the store.
I went to the store, found a salesperson and tried to buy the mattress. Of course they were sold out and it was going to take 4 to 6 weeks to get it in...OR...I could purchase another mattress they had in stock for an extra $200. Classic bait and switch tactic. I will never go in a Leons again!
poor quality and duped on furniture warranty
We bought a sofa for $1, 000 in April 2012 and were sold a furniture warranty for $150 or 200 (or something) that would cover any tears or repairs the sofa would need for 5 yrs and guess what? we believed the company. One year down the line, the sofa cushion's fabric just ripped on the slightest touch!
I called the customer service and after 4 weeks of back and forth and the warranty guy coming over to take a pic of the cushion etc., i am told that the warranty doesnt cover the fabric parts of the sofa.. how convenient is that? We were under the impression the entire sofa was covered... So much for buying from Leons. No more of them for us...
and then we discovered more rips on the sofa and all on the fabric parts.. the fabric quality is very cheap..
What a rip off!

creepy customer service
Welcome to Leon's - the only company who seems to have gotten the wrong memo on workplace harassment. I had thought issues concerning this type of violation was becoming less tolerated among the powers that be, but it would seem Leon's in St John has taken a different approach. Gone are the days of indescetionable behaviour in the staff room, Leon's brings it right onto the sales floor and in your face. By the time you get out of the show room, you will have been mauled by strangers, male or female, leered and winked at by salesmen insistant on stalking you around the store, and for all you Christians out there, a special few will even throw the F-bomb into conversation with you.
By the time my husband and I finally just walked out, we both felt violated, angry and disgusted. We have spent thousands at Leon's, but it looks as though someone else will be getting our business from now on.

not happy!
I have now been discussed with my fifth purchase that I have made. I had order a leather couch, when the guys brought the couch into the house which was to be put in my basement they stood it on the end at the top of the stairs and shoved it downstairs as it rolled over my brand new banister. Then they got upset with me because I wouldn't sign the paper saying that the couch was delivered and there was no damage. The couch was ripped and my wall and banister was damaged. So the store sent someone out to the house to see if the rip could be repaired she said no but we will give you an end table. You have got to be kidding! They wanted me to keep the ripped sofa.
Now we just tried to purchase a stove, washer and dryer. I tried to make a payment, the store wouldn't take a payment of a chq . Then we were waiting for the delivery of our appliances (6hrs) which was fine. They called and said that they couldn't find our house on the GPS we spelled out the name properly no they couldn't find it. We drove into Brockville to pick up the appliances yourselves but when we looked at the stove there was damage to the back of it. The manager wanted us to still buy it. REALLY! The manager said that he wouldn't charge us for delivery, hmmm the delivery was already free!
I will never purchase anything again from any LEONS.
I hope I hear a respond.

Why would you buy from them again after the incident with the couch?
customer service
I will never Shop at Leon's again. My husband and I bought a sectional and not only did it not last a year (it is just the two of of using it) but it has been repaired and left looking worse than before the repair . We now have a broken spring or board inside the couch and stretch marks on the material. We asked for somebody to come look at the couch again and they only looked at one half of the sectional however, we asked them to look at both halve. We now we have to prove to them the issue on the other side of the sectional.
When I called customer care they denied we ever asked them to look at both pieces of the sectional. The customer care lady I spoke to was rude and basically called me a liar. The funny thing is I called and gave her my information and she replied with " i speak to a lot of people, I don't know who you are" I had to say "then could you please look me up I called with a complaint last week" rude and to me, not doing her job. I find it convenient that our 1 yr warranty is up next month and they seem to be delaying the process.
What happened to the customer is always right? I refuse top deal with business who treat their customers that way and i recommend you stay away too. For quality and customer care Leon's Burlington, Canada fails big time.

dining set
May 1, 2013
We purchased what was not a cheap (over $2, 000) dining set off Leon’s. The Table leaves were contained in the base of the table and opened with a mechanism. The dining set looked fabulous in the showroom.
We’d been a customer of theirs for years. In fact, we just had appliances delivered through Leon’s the week before all was good. Then Leon’s delivered the dining set, several boxes some in rough shape.
There were a total of about 6 boxes which included the base and six chairs. The table top box had big gouges in it, like someone had torn the box open to see what was inside.
Leon’s called several times, panicked, leaving us a voice mug to say they had delivered the wrong table top to our house and wanted to swing by and deliver the right one.
The Leon’s truck showed up. The Leon’s delivery people carried the table top in (it was not boxed) and one leaf. My first concern was why was the leaf disconnected from the table. There was a big gouge in the table top like some one had taken a screw driver to it trying to open the box. I told the driver I would not accept brand new furniture damaged to that extent and asked them to take it away and deliver a new one. The driver asked me if I had any idea how many hands the boxes had gone through before they got to us. Leons logistical problems are not supposed to be my concern. This kind of damage was common and could be repaired. My thought was – brand new furniture and it’s having major repairs on it already! The driver said that he would contact the service department and someone would call us. By mid morning the next day we had still not received a call from Leons. My husband drove to Leons instead to get the new table top.
My husband brought the table top home. He started to open boxes one at a time for assembly. He opened the box that held the base of the table. The base was all scratched up and one of the four large bolts that hold everything together was bend so badly, the table base could not be assembled. My husband phone Leons to see if they had a replacement base. They did not. Then Leons called back later to say that yes they had another base. As another box containing chairs was opened, a big gouge in a leather seat was found, large deep scratches on the legs. The situation was beyond ridiculous, so my husband packed up all the boxes and phoned Leons and said he was bringing the dining set back. We wanted our money back. The Leon’s serviced dept staff said that was fine - it was our choice - a second trip to Leons.
When my husband brought the boxes back to Leon’s he was told there was NO returns, ONLY repairs by some snot nosed, pimple faced supervisor who could care less. After screaming and yelling for 20 minutes in the service department line up they gave my husband our money back.
We stopped at a Mom and Pop solid wood furniture store on the way home. We purchased a beautiful, sturdy dining set for only $200 more than the GARBAGE Leons was offering for that price. They’re delivering it Saturday with set up and installing felt on the legs. They said if there is a problem we’re to contact them right away and they’ll take care of it! We were treated like a VALUED customer.
Was it worth it to Leons to lose thousands of dollars of current and future business? Apparently so!
Clearly Leons charges ridiculous prices for garbage product. Scratch and Dent for full price. And they have the GULL to inform you they have a no return policy on brand new furniture still in the box. There is no customer service - just a repair department. Good Luck getting any repairs done! It will likely take weeks or months to get them out, if never.
Do an internet search on where to complain to Leons directly about stuff like this. You’ll find there is no place because Leons is not interested in hearing your complaints!
Marketplace did a piece in 2005 on someone who had a complaint about a mattress. That person wrote Leons a “nice” letter and got no response from Leons until CBC stepped in. Why bother with nice if it gets you no where? And this just shows that Leons was pathetic even back in 2005!
Leon’s slogan is : "Leon's - It's All About trust". You’ve got to be kidding!
NEW slogan for Leons, One STOP SHOP Snare & Repair = Customer Despair
No return & No Concern = Customer Burn
As for Leons, they can go to Hell!
