Tire Alignment
in April 8th 2023, I took my Mercedes CLS for Alignment. drop it off, and came back after an hour an half when they called me and informed me the job is done. there, the technician showed me the report and told me "WE COULDN'T GET THE JOB DONE". Told him why? said because "Manufacturer does not specify adjustments on this vehicle"!. didn't understand what does he mean. He then charged me and handed me the key. took the car for test and no improvement at all! nothing changed.
Desired outcome: need to be reimbursed for Alignment, Since the Job was never done.
contacted customer service and agreed to do the alignment again after I install the required parts.
Brakes & rotors
So I visited your 671 Lake Joy Road location in Kathleen, GA on 3.21.23 due to a high screeching noise coming from the front left of my car. Haven't lived here long so had a friend drop me off and bring me back to work.
Received a call informing me of the price and couldn't believe it. My ride had left for a number of hours and while I knew I should've waited and taken the car somewhere else for a second opinion, but didn't want to put my friend thru the hassle and would've meant another day or so without my car. So I said fix it and thought I'd chat with the manager when picking up the car. They called at end of day got my ride back over and shop had pretty much closed up except for 2 girls at front and a gentleman described as the shop manager like he oversees the shop area but not the store. So the girl went over the bill with the shop manager listening behind us and I asked questions each time explaining why you guys stand behind those prices. I inquired about the $148.99 brake special to see if that had been applied, about the total 2.5 labor hours charged when they didn't even have the car an hour and a half. and having had a few "car people" look at it, they aren't convinced the rotors were even changed ~ they all have rusting on them and aren't a shiny silver like
one might expect. Several lessons learned here for myself, mostly doing more
homework up front. No matter who I call, Mieneke, Precision and so forth I'm told an average price, even had a buddy call your store and was quoted right at everyone elses average cost around $400-500, even Kia dealerships themselves aren't much more than that so I'm perplexed why I am paying right at double that. I felt like I was being ripped off during and especially after this
experience, like they saw a sucker walk thru the doors with a repair that lends
itself to high markups. Let me know if you would like any pics, I am happy to send. I wound up financing it thru y'alls card that I applied for that day.
Desired outcome: Any adjustments you can make would be greatly appreciated and help this customer not feel so taken. Thanks in advance!
Tire traction control sensor
In early March I contacted mavis about a traction Control sensor light that came on and went off on my dash panel. They asked me to bring it in and said they'd look at it. They said there was rust around the sensor but it was otherwise ok. Within minutes after leaving mavis my ABS, traction control light and check engine light came on. I took it back to mavis. They again took it in and looked at it and then quoted me over 600.00 to replace the sensor. I was told it was hard to get to and wasn't an easy job. Thinking that was a high quote I called a family member who owns a garage and took it there. They removed the tire and found out that mavis had unplugged the sensor wire which caused the lights to come on, on the dashboard. He plugged the sensor back in and I've had no issues with my car since. The family member of mine that plugged the sensor back in said they did it because I am a woman and they thought they saw a way to get money out of me. In this day in age its very sad to see that still happening. I've since called them about replacing a head light bulb and was told they had to remove the bumper to get to the light fixture. I personally replaced the bulb in 15 minutes and never had to remove a bumper to change the bulb in my headlight. Again I'm very irritated with the service they claim to provide for their customers.
Desired outcome: I just want to know how this is allowed to happen in this day in age that as a woman, I have to worry about a male run business has the right to scam women.
Basic oil change
I took my mint condition older Mercedes-Benz in for a basic oil change. The Mavis in Liverpool, NY on Oswego rd. They did the work but my vehicle was suddenly idling rough afterwards. I drove it more and the temperature got overheated. It started making a crazy noise so I opened the hood. The vehicle just passed inspection and was in excellent condition, no warning lights. Sad to report that the tech spilled oil all over my belts housings and grooves causing it to slip. Now Im scared to drive for fear of an accident or causing more damage to other components. I spoke on the phone with the Regional Manager about it and his suggestions was drive it in so they can "clean it". How is it okay to add a solvent to the rubber which will likely do the same thing as the oil. Especially since im already having problems. These belts aren't supposed to be carelessly made a mess of, soaked in oil and then cleaned. The proper way would be to replace the belts according to Mercedes-Benz themselves. I told the manager that I didn't feel safe driving the vehicle and couldn't afford a tow. Instead of offering to pay for the tow the regional manager secretly showed up to the location. He definitely spoke about me to his staff before my arrival. They were pretty much insinuating that it either didn't happen or they weren't responsible. I showed the manager pictures of the damage and videos are timestamped. I offered to bring the manager or whomever to the vehicle to check it but they refused. I attached pictures but some of the oil has gone into the groves and underneath the rubber.
Desired outcome: Vehicle is going to Mercedes-Benz dealership. They will replace with brand new parts. Mavis needs to pay this bill...NOW!!!
Tire rebate request
I previously wrote requesting a corrected receipt. My request was ignored. I just want to inform you that I will never spend my money in your store ever again. Purchased Tires from Amazon. Had them mounted at Keyser Oak Store. Wanted an alignment, but machine was broke and I was sent to Dickson City Store. I paid for alignment, then was told the back tires could not be aligned without a cam and toe kit. I was given prices for the parts and labor. I was told $280.00 without tax plus the cost of the alignment. I told him not to order parts.
I would get it done somewhere else. Being my vehicle was never aligned, I asked for my money back for alignment. Manager, refused to reimburse me my money. So I paid for an alignment and the job was never finished. So, I was told unless I got this job done there, I was not getting money back for the alignment.
Desired outcome: Would like to be reimbursed for Alignment, Since the Job was never done.

I have been bringing my car, 2011 Toyota Camry to my Mavis Tire in Roselle Park, NJ for well over a year now. In the past year, I've had the sensors replaced and I have to keep bringing my car back because my engine light and traction light keep coming on. They told me they replaced them, but every few days, the lights come back on. The last sensor they put in has costed me $900 and I had to pay prior to that for other work. I can't afford to any more money into this car and this has to be resolved by Mavis. They need to rectify this problem and make good on this vehicle. I have to keep bringing this car back every weekend and sometimes they want me to wait a week and come back, which means I have to see these lights on my dashboard for weeks at a time. I need this resolved because for me to take it to another mechanic, I'll have to shell out more money and this is the responsibility of Mavis, since they are the ones that installed these sensors. I need assistance here and fast. Nobody seems to know what they're doing and I need someone that does know so I don't to keep going back. I need my car for work and have no other means to get to work. Please help! Denise Terhune
Desired outcome: I would like this problem taken care of so I don't have to come back again. I need it fixed, permanently with no repercussions where I have to keep going back for the same problems.
Mechanical work
Its a [censored]ing tire shop...and if u go there for mechanical work you will get screwed out your money, they dont even have a reap specialist all tire people that know rarely nothing about cars..they write and rewrite anything on the paper reciepts...i brought my car in there n kept having to bring it back untill it became over $1,000.00 and im still having the same problem...their crooks in their...then they told me it would b a $3,000.00 to really fix it...so i jus took my car out after weeks of wasting time with them n finally got recemonded to a real mechanic shop (not a tire shop) and all my problem on the car was a simple $350-$400 job...
and now my car runs perfect when mavis made up a whole story on a 12-14hr labor job n tryed to play me out my money because the job mavis said need to be done and the job i got done were 2 completely different things...i would have gotten cheated so badly off my money if i had trusted mavis...
So from mavis saying its a $3,000 job to my friends mechanic charging me $384.99 is a big difference...and the crazy part is mavis was trying to do a job that i didnt even need and wasnt even focusing on the main problem i had which my friends mechanic fixed it and my car is running fine now... so i wasted a $1,000 at mavis n car wasnt even fixed where i can drive it
All im saying is if u not going for tires dont go to mavis...they literally on crook [censored] in there

Regional manager angel Rodriguez forces his employees to sell unneeded work on customers cars each day. Threatens employees with there job if they do not sell mechanical work, know his shops do not have mechanics and forces employees who do not know how to work on cars to do the work. Then when the vehicle returns he continues to not help employees fix and tells them is is there problem. I believe it's extremely unprofessional that our supposed to be leader and face of this company is constantly downing employees and forcing them to do work they are not capable of and refusing to help them correct issues due to him forcing people to do jobs there not capable of. Most employees who work under this man (Angel Rodriguez) 10 stores want to quit there job due to 1 person.

I spoke with a gentleman at your call center today Jan 31 , 2023. I needed new tires and the online appointment request I put in didn't give me a time to come in. He checked information and put in corrections. I was quoted a price + taxes. When I got to Mavis location 2060 Forest Av ,in staten island a different price was given . I was told price didn't include alignment. He called the call center they listen to call conversation an stated to him alignment wasn't mentioned . When i requested to hear conversation. They said they'd send it to his email. It took about 30 to 40 minutes for him to receive it. In that time he spoken with them 2x saying,
he hadn't received it yet . Once listen to it was not the entire conversation. It's as if bits and pieces were removed. I explained this to the gentleman. I know what was discussed and alignment was mentioned. Needless to say I'm not a happy customer.
Desired outcome: Alignment price be credited to my card
Brakes
Good morning,
On December 26th 2022 i stopped into Mavis 270 Troy Road in Rensselaer NY to have a simple oil changed and a NY State inspection done on my 2015 Ram. Eventually my truck was taken into the shop for the service,, 20 minutes later the store manager called me that he wanted to show me something, we went into the garage showing me the rear brakes stating they were delaminating and it would not pass inspection. He told me they could replace the brake shoes and rotors, oil change and inspection in about 2 hours. Trusting the manager I authorized the work. As i was waiting in the waiting room i starting hearing very loud bangs, curious i look into the service bays, to my surprise i saw a technician using a sledge hammer beating on my wheels, first from the outside then the inside. I am not a mechanic and assumed the tech knew what he was doing, 3 and 1/2 hours later the store manager tells me the truck is done, oil change inspection and brakes. As i was paying for the repairs the manages was explaining the brake warranty and told me if there is anything wrong just bring the truck back. My wife and I started home after about 10 minutes my wife says she hears a grinding noise, thinking it was just the new brakes i wasn't too concerned, until the noise got louder. The noise sounded like it was coming from the front wheels.
12/28/2022 Returned to Mavis explaining to the manager what i was hearing. The truck was brought into the service bay to make repairs. The manager told me they would take care of it, after waiting over 2 hours i was told the truck is "all set" Driving home i heard the same grinding noise.
12/30/2022 Returned to Mavis, once again explaining to a different manager the noise i was hearing, he stated they would take care of it. I told the manager to have the technician take the truck for a road test to hear the noise I was hearing. When the tech returned he stated he heard the same noise he would take a look and make repairs. Waiting for almost 1 hour the manager told me he wanted to show me what they had done to correct the noise, basically removed front brakes, cleaned all parts and reassembled. The technicians, or managers had no clue as to where the noise was coming from, stating it could be the wheel bearing. A third individual came over stating the noise was most likely the bearing and as you drive the noise could be louder than when on a lift. He instructed the manager to document everything they have done to make repairs. 2 hours later the manager tells me all set. That they really don't know where the noise was coming from. I asked is something could of been damaged from the technician beating on the wheels when the brakes were being replaced, he looks at me confused as to why i would ask that. He stated nothing was damaged, most likely its the bearings. Driving home heard the same noise, frustrated I called the Dealers to schedule an appointment for a diagnostic to be done on the noise. 1/4/23 brought the truck into Goldstein to see if they can determine the cause of the grinding noise. 1/6/23 Goldstein Technician and service advisor determined the grinding noise was from damaged brake backing plates, (photos attached) They asked who replaced the brakes, I told them Mavis. They told me they beat the heck out of the shields.(diagnostic attached)
1/6/2023 Called Mavis customer service, spoke with representative who forwarded my complaint to a regional manager. I again explained the issues i was having with the truck. He advised me to bring it back to Mavis where I have the work done. I told him to choose another Mavis due to the fact i brought the truck back twice and they were unable to make the repairs.
1/7/2023 I brought the truck to Mavis to 206 Central Ave, once again explaining the issues and damage that was caused during the brake job. I asked about the damaged backing plates, the mechanic and manager assured me they would be able to fix it. i asked how they plan on replacing the shields without removing the axels, they told me not to worry they would repair. After sitting there for 4 hours i was told the repairs were complete. As my truck was brought out of the service bay i asked the driver is they took it for a road test, they said no. I asked how did they know it was repaired, the driver said he didn't hear anything when he drove it out of the service bay. I left to go home, same grinding noise i heard. Nothing changed! When i got home i called Mavis at 206 Central Ave to inform them the noise was still there. The only response i got was OK.
1/19/2023 I once again brought my truck into Goldstein to perform another diagnostic, an attempt was made to bend the shields back into place they even cut a section out to try and stop the grinding.
1/23/23 The grinding continues.
Please advise as to how Mavis plans on correcting the damaged cause from a simple brake job. I have spent $183.60 on diagnostic costs and countless of hours sitting in waiting room expecting repairs to be made. To replace just the backing plates on the 2 rear wheels is estimated to be $1350.00. I have not asked for a quote on the front backing plate replacement but would think it will be close to the same price.
Waiting on a resolution to my frustration. WO# [protected]

Siphoned gas/someone drove my suv without permission
I am writing this complaint because yesterday, 1/24/2023, I took my SUV to the Ossining, NY location to have tires changed. Mind you, I also did a tire change for my other SUV the previous day. Between both days, I spent approximately $3,000 dollars with your company. To show you that this is not an angry message, I will leave my 5 star review up longer than I planned to for your review nder [protected]@gmail.com.
My complaint is when I took my SUV into Mavis in the morning, it had a full tank of gas. I filled it prior to going into the site, When I received my car, it was at half tank. You can imagine how flummoxed I was (and after giving the store a 5 star rating).
The only two things that I think could have taken place is either the gas was siphoned or someone took my SUV for a "joy ride." I don't appreciate the thought of either option. To be honest with you, the more I think about it, the more I want to press charges. I'm sure that you have cameras at all of your stores, and I would appreciate if an investigation could be done.
Desired outcome: $50.00 gas refund, and the culprit(s) reprimanded, transferred or terminated.
New tires purchased 01/12/2022
I purchased a set of 4 new Good Year Assurance All Season tires on 01/12/2022. I had the computer balance package, wheel alignment, warranty on tires and a recycling charge on tires. This with the tax comes to a grand total of $1021.90. In 01/19/2023 I took my Honda CR-V to the Friendly Honda dealer for oil change and annual inspection. At that point I was surprised to find out that the tires failed inspection. When I purchased the New tires from Mavis, Wappingers Fall, NY I was told the New tires have a 65,000 mile rating, so I was very surprised when they failed after only 16,000 miles. I took the Honda CR-V to the dealership several time between 01/12/2022 and 01/19/2023 and tires were rotated and no abnormality was found with the tires other then they failed inspection. Now I went back to Mavis on 01/20/2023 to rectify this problem. No real explanation was offered and I got a pro rated discount on tire. I cost me $861.88 for computer balance, wheel alignment, good year all season tires, warranty and a recycling charge. It cost me an additional $861.88 for replacement tires that I should not have needed for several years. It was suggested to me that I did not get new tires from Mavis on 01/12/2022. For a set of tires to only get 16,000 miles out of 65,000 mile rating in less then a year sounds very suspicious. Invoice #[protected] on 01/12/2022 and Invoice #[protected] on 01/20/2023
Desired outcome: I should be refunded for my cost and inconvenience. This situation/problem was not created by me, yet I carry the burden of all the cost.
Sheridan Dr. Buffalo NY manager
Went in for new tires and alignment. Manager tried to scam us in to paying $1000 to fix something else. Upon research the part only costs $50. Manager said we could give him our bank account information and make monthly payments. My husband declined. When leaving the manager stated again that the part needs to be fixed and my husband put his foot down and said “you’re not fixing it. You’re trying to get more money out of me. Please stop.” The manager blew up. Almost physically assaulted my husband. And the receptionist told the manager to leave.
Desired outcome: Fire the manager. He should’ve swung. We would’ve seen him in court.
