chicken selects - too hard!
Usually i find mc donalds food to be wonderful but lately, i am getting chicken selects, left to long under the heat lamps until they are so hard you cant eat them. Now, i will be buying my chicken tenders from walmart where they time how long the food has been done an left under the warming area an is removed when that time is up an no longer available to sell to anyone, just so you know, kids need supervision an someone needs to start timing the food an remove it when no longer fresh to sell, thank you

Place was filthy - tables obviously not washed from the night before - Coke spills still on table
8 people "working" - one actually working - everyone else standing around - three kids with shifts hanging out and wearing dirty McDonalds uniforms
shameless toy advertising and kids
I have a big problem with fast food chains, including McDonalds, using toys to convince kids to visit the restaurant and then not having the advertised toys in stock. I visited McDonalds in Potchefstroom today. Of the four advertised toys for girls, only the one that we already have was in stock, of the two displayed boys' toys, none was in stock.
I feel that our kids are being lied to to get them in the restaurant, and then shamelessly cheated when they do go there.
McDonalds should keep there advertised promises!
When I was in highschool i worked at McD's. we ran out of a toy but we had the other four advertised toys. the lady was not content with this, so she trough a milk shake on me. totally uncalled for.
I have a problem with adults believing that any kid should ever be eating the sort of ### mcdonalds serves. They use the toys to reinforce the addiction to mcdonalds at a young age, so really...you should be happy when the toys dont arrive. Unless you like the idea of your kids being diabetic amputees who just gotta get their big mac fix for the day.
Personal responsibility people... if you dont have time to cook food that wont give your kids diseases make time. Dont complain that the 20 cent toy isnt available especially if that is the only reason you would go to a hole like that.
Religion may be our opiate, but mcdonalds is merely a nicotine rush.
I work at a McDonalds in the UK and sometimes, regrettably, we do run short of a certain Happy Meal Toy. This is due to unprecedented demand. This is nothing that staff can do, until a delivery comes bringing more toys.
Also, we only ever have one toy a week, it changes over in our restaurant on a Wednesday.
Customers are f*cking stupid to expect all the Happy Meals Toys in the restaurant at all times. You're feeding your kids for £2.19 a pop, you shouldn't expect the ###ing world.
lack of customer service!
It has been going on for too long and must be rectified ASAP as far as I'm concerned and I believe many customers are being mistreated by McDonald Stores. Almost every time I've decided to go for a quick meal, it has taken too long to get it. It seems that the company is giving priority to the "Drive Through" service and let's people who come to the restaurant to sit down wait forever to get the service deserved for getting out of the car. I've watched the process enough to complain about it, and will do whatever it takes to take the issue to the management every time I see it happening. As mentioned before it's unacceptable to be so careless by Mc Donalds to continue this disservice. I'm prepared to go to the media to help nudge the company into doing the right thing or will create some negative slogans by displaying stickers or other forms of discontented signs to expose that sort of behavior.

A cashier stole $15.65 from me today. I ordered a kids meal which came out to $4.35. I handed him a $20, and he claimed I handed him a 5, he said he would count out the register and HE goes in the back and does it comes back and tells me nothing is missing. My fiancee goes up and asks to speak to the manager who goes and re counts the register and says only $4.00 is missing.I find this interesting because like I said before my order was $4.35. They made us wait for over an hour. Mealwhile the employee responsible leaves. The manager says she can look at the store cameras and that we need to wait. So we wait and she leaves without saying anything. I went to call your customer service line but you were already closed. I have the original reciept. The manager never gave us her name, nore the name of the employee.
@ Stealth Pilot - How nice for you dear! You'd think after all that you'd be a touch less [censor]y!
@Stealth Pilot - I want it fast and fresh, honey. Like your last date!
Good Gravy Marie! People actually *expect* good service and good food from McDonald's? Auntie has yet to have ever been in one in the past 20 years where the service and food *were* good!
@Sandra Valente - How in the name of [your favorite deity] did you break a tooth on a Big Mac? they're all squishy and soft and stuff?
Broke a tooth on a Big Mac May 2010 ... had a Root Canal... now Dental surgery and they are being [censor]'s about paying the costs
I work at a mcdonalds and i can tell all you people that 90% of the problems you have are caused by administrators and supervisors who are not present in the store when you go into it. franchise owners only care about statistics and money. they force them to understaff the stores during peak hours so that their labor percentages stay low and then when customers end up waiting and getting mad everybody blames the crew. i know to you people a plain cheeseburger seems like something that would be impossible to screw up but when you consider that you want it plain, another guy wants extra onions, another wants no onions, another wants substitute onions, another wants extra pickles and you have to put the correct slips on each one and make it accordingly and you have less than 30 seconds to have them all made before the manager starts [censor]ing at you, a plain cheeseburger can get lost in the mix. and if the drive thru worker doesnt greet you with a smile its not because theyre a selfish [censor] its because the last 3 customers screamed at them for things that they had nothing to do with. anybody that is complaining should try actually doing the job. people think its so easy a monkey could do it and yet there have been countless college grads and smart people with good work experience who have gotten jobs at my store who have been incapable of handling the pressure and performing the job. i have worked there for 3 years and i know i could do anyjob out there now because of it. i work an 8 hour shift and most of the time other than my lunch break i can never stop moving. there is always food to make or cleaning to do and if you stop working for even 5 seconds a manager will yell at you. as ive said a number of people with bachelors degrees have been coming here for jobs within the last year or two(state of the economy i guess) and i love watching the way that they come in arrogant thinking that the rest of us are [censor]s and that theyre gonna get promoted quick and go straight to the top. they think that because they use to work a high paying job that theyre better than the rest of us. the best moment is the first time they face a serious rush, bust their [censor] to the limit for 2 hours straight only to have the manager come back and scream at them for screwing up food and moving too slow, or a customer yell back to them that they are [censor]ed cuz they put too many pickles on their sandwich. you people are complaining about the employees not showing you respect but i know first hand that less than 1 out of 5 customers show the employees proper respect. i swear any of you that have yelled at a mcdonalds employee need to take a look in the mirror and realize that your nothin but a piece of [censor]. what were you yelling about? did you even order your food the right way? a plain big mac comes with cheese, a plain quarter pounder comes with cheese. many of the mistakes are caused by customers not knowing how to order the food and thats your own fault. were you pissed off that you had to wait more than 30 seconds to get your food? or was it because they overcharged you by 50 cents? keep in mind that the girl on counter that your screaming at and insulting is 16 years old and is isnt even getting paid enough to buy a case of beer for that weekend. too many people in this world are selfish and spoiled and think that when they walk into the store every employee in there exists for the sole purpose of making them happy. we work to satisfy the majority. drive thru does come first and thats because we can only serve one customer at a time in the drive thru. if we make your food for counter first then u get it 1 minute faster and all 8 of the customers in drive thru have to wait 1 minute longer. majority. we care more about keeping 8 customers happy as opposed to one. as for being given the wrong order its easy enough to fix just look into the bag before you leave. if you cant do that then your a [censor] and its your own fault. and as for the playground thing why the hell do your kids not have socks on? barefeet are dirty and even though you dont care about anybody elses safety its the managers job to do just that. if all the kids went up with no socks on the place would be scummy and ridden with fungus and youd be writing a complaint asking for an apology for your kids getting foot fungus. theres a famous quote that goes "dont judge a person by how they treat their equals but how they treat theyre suboordinates." and i can say based on that that this country is full of spoiled [censor]ing [censor]s who dont give a [censor] about anyone but themselves.
Hi there, As a family of 4, we do like a treat once and a while, so we pack the kids in the car and decide to travel down to mc donalds in Trowbridge, First obstacle, Actually getting in the drive thu, past the mile of cars, 10 minutes later were asked what would you like, hummmmmmmm what are the choices burger burger or burger oh yes and fries, I will have a double quarter pounder with cheese twice please, and two hamburger happy meals, Then we receive our drinks and happy meals and asked to go and wait in the bay, where they chuck you if you have the cheek to ask for a double quarter pounder with cheese, by the time the staff arrive with your burger and fries, Your children's happy meals are freezing cold, " sorry kids " and wait there is more, We get home ... The order is wrong, What could possibly be wrong, we wanted our double quarter pounders with cheese after waiting at least 5 mins for them we were handed big mac's with medium fries . How could this be when we wanted and paid for large double quarter pounder meals !( This happens more often than not ) On average we spend at least £13.00 - £20.00 every time we visit we always take our meals home and then by golly its to late. So after receiving the same lame slow standard treatment from mc donald's staff in trowbridge, we choose the most un-economical un-environmentally friendly way to have a mc donald's, By travelling to Melksham For our Once a week treat . There the staff are faster and more efficient . Please note we live in Trowbridge !...Rather than righting you off, Especially since the lovely re-furb, we decided to save our petrol and our carbon admissions and once again put our trust in you ! Big mistake ...Less than a month ago. The last time we visited ! we ordered 2 sausage and egg mc muffin meals with coffee, first we were given 4 coffee's . Not a good start ! Excuse me ...urmmmmmmmmm we didn't order 4 coffee's. A problem we could clearly see, and sorted...Then the meals arrived ...oh lovely double sausage and egg mc muffin wrappers but one was a bacon in a muffin roll ? And the other was a single mc muffin, "for gods sake " I say to my patient partner who says " don't worry about lets just eat it and never come back ! " GOOD IDEA " I say . No refund, No COMPLAINTS ...We are simply out of patience with you ...I would love to know as a costumer IF or WHEN Trowbridge mc donalds will ever improve, So once again we can enjoy its pleasure . Awaiting your reply for the thumbs up !
miss m Edwards .
i am a current mcdonalds employee and i domt agree with the last statement the mcdonalds albury, lavington and wodonga biralee have improved dramatically over the space of two years and yes we do prioritize our drive thru at times when head office goes through.
Incase you dont remember the restaurant is run on service times and how long you have been waiting if you have been waiting on a cheeseburger for 100 seconds and drive thru has been waiting 103 seconds then drive thru will get it.
And yes we maybe teenagers but not all of us are un skilled thats what training on the job is for Evidence to support the face that we are not all stupid i am 16 years old i have worked there for 2 and a half years and i am the head crew trainer of the front counter mccafe and drive thru areas and i am the casual mccafe manager and am in charge of the mccafe stock order and am vice president of the safety team and vice president of the crew trainer team.
As for rude people in the stores i do not believe you and sometimes you people deserve it you think you can just walk in and demand everything WELL YOU CANT you stand in line and wait like everyone else and if you think raising your voice will get you want then YOU ARE WRONG again we are trained to tell you that if you speak to us in a way that is not of a nice and friendly nature than we dont have to serve you and then if you refuse to stop then the police will be notified
thank you
As a previous McDonald's employee I have a message to all of you with complaints. YOU CHOOSE TO GO TO THESE RESTUARANTS THAT ARE UNDERSTAFFED AND OVERWORKED AND THEN ARE RUDE, INCONSIDERATE, AND MEAN WHEN THE LITTLEST THING GOES WRONG. Well you know what? We do prioritize our drive-thru. Got an issue with that? THEN GO THROUGH THE DRIVE-THRU GET YOUR FOOD AND THEN COME INSIDE TO EAT IT. McDonalds hires unskilled teenagers to be their crew and poorly educated (if at all) managers and it is obvious to anyone. So next time you go to a McDonalds realize this restuarant isn't run well. THEY NEVER ARE.

Inhospitable behavior by employees
On Tuesday 28th of July 2009 around 14:30PM CT I decided to threat my 5 years old daughter and 2 years old son visiting McDonald's, we visited the restaurant located at 6720 W Archer Chicago, IL 60638 (Store #805), I was ordering the food at the counter while my kids ran to the playgrounds offered to children inside the restaurant, a minute later my daughter came back frightened because an employee (her name is Charlotte) had yelled to them that they needed the wear sox. I kept my children with me until I got the order ( KS#3 7/28/09 14:30 order 905) and we walk to have a seat and eat in the dinning room.
After a while I had by them observed others kids going to the playgrounds without sox so I allowed them to go, 3 seconds later a McDonald's employee approached me with a very unpleasant mood yelling at me that I must call my kids back from the playgrounds and make them wear sox in order to be allowed to play. What first stroke me was that my kids were barely getting to the games which made me felt that she was watching us all the time and waiting for them to get back to the playgrounds, and as I said, I had observed others kids going without sox. In an effort to stop my kids from getting to the playgrounds she ran over to caught them up which scared me and I asked to her not to talk to my kids, if there was something to be ask she should ask to me, my kids had done nothing wrong. This must had been a shock and felt overwhelm since she called upon the manager on site ( her name is Clarissa) and another employee (from whom I didn't have the chance to get her name). Once again I felt intimidated by the three of them, I firmly believe that is not way to handle the situation, certainly no way to threat customers, specially this third employee who sweared at me upon the point that the manager had to stop her from kept on yelling at me and sent her back to her task. I always thought that if a manager needs to handle a situation, it should be in a friendly and polite way in order to assess the customer's point of view and not standing along two employees in an intimidating way. It was a stressful, unprofessional and out of hands by them, she decide to call the police. They had gave me enough reasons to believe that it was better for my family to call my husband to come bring my van's key . My daughter was crying believing that she would get arrested and I honestly did not care anymore for what these employees had to say, we were ready to leave. I had ordered the food to be eaten in but I did not had the chance to eat and since I've been asked to leave, I asked for a bag to carry out my food but that was too much to ask and none was provided.
By the time my husband and the police arrived a few customers had stand up for us and questioned the manager why they had called the police, nobody understood their actions, all the parents had called their kids from the playgrounds and decided to leave, unquestionable the mcdonald's employees had become hostiles to the customers (not only me but also the ones who had stand up).
When I had the opportunity to explain to the police and letting him know that I was waiting for my husband, it was outrageous to see that they even when as far as to ask the police to have me arrest, in front of my kids. Of course that did not happened since no law had been broken and they used a better common sense.
Nowdays we are dealing with our daughter to forget the whole experience and go back to mcdonalds since she used to loved and it was a weekly visit, she still is frightened thinking that she would get arrested.
I would like to know if this is the proper conduct to have for the McDonald's employees and more than anything if my kids will be welcome.
would like to hear an apologize from McDonalds and to know that employees that do not represent McDonalds's culture do not have an opportunity to work on the favorite spot for our children.
dirty bathroom in mcdonalds!
I decided to eat at a McDonald restaurant located at 2848 Nostrand Ave in Brooklyn, New York. Before I ordered, I decided to use the restaurant's restroom. When I opened the door, the wall behind the toilet and the toilet itself were smeared with feces. The feces were hard and it appeared to have been there for some time. I inquired about the cleaning...

My 15 year old daughter had got her first job at mcdonalds. They say they work around the kids schedule. That was a lie. They scheduled her to work a closing shift 2 to 3 times a week on a school night. She was told if she didn't work them she would be let go. So they let here go after working there a year. They said she didn't show for a couple of shift...

I went into a mcdonalds on 16th avenue, n. w.in Calgary, to order a take away breakfast. Whilst I was hanging around, I notice that the person making up the orders had no gloves on while she was making all the food. So when the food came, I told the guy I did not want it now, and then saw a manager, and she said, well sometimes they wear gloves and sometimes they don't, and was not in the least bothered about it.

My family and I went to the McDonalds restaurant located at 10-250 Shawville Blvd. S.E. Calgary to have supper on April 15, 2007 at 6:27 p.m. Customer service was lax and the restaurant did not have one clean table although there was several people on shift "hanging around" in the back doing little or nothing. There floors were littered with garbage. My...

I wanted something different for lunch... but I wanted McDonalds. I see a picture on the menu at the drive through of their new "Cheddar Melt Meal"... It didn't really look good on the picture (should have told me something right there, since pictures are usually better than the product) but, I thought since I do like burgers, I do like cheddar and I do like grilled onions, I will give it a try.
***OMG they are advertising that very burger on TV as I write this***... anyway... I have no clue what kind of bun it is served on, maybe wheat?
I decide to eat in my car... The first thing I noticed was the smell... yuck! But, I'll try it anyway. I bite into it and start gagging on it... it was as if they soaked it in salt! Now, I have to admit, I use more salt than any human being should... so, for me to complain about something being too salty, it has to be really bad! I forced myself to swallow it... I gagged it down... then wrapped the rest up and put it back in the bag and ate my fries for lunch. I went back to work, leaving the bag in my car, because I was too lazy to carry it in to throw it away... I'll do that when I get home... I had three candy canes at work to get rid of that horrible taste in my month, but that didn't even help. Time to go home now... I get in my car and as soon as I opened the door, my whole car smelled of that burger... I started gagging again, just from the smell of it... I think I'll stick with the Big Macs...

Cheddah Melt be the bomb! Ooozy cheese and all them onions up in that - damn, girl must be raggin' to not like this dog.
Seriously, I wish this burger was on the regular menu. I'm craving it as I type this. Great burger ... the best McDonalds ever had to offer!
wow I didn't think the queen from "my3cents" would indulge in fast food . Though not a big mcdees fan, I do love their chicken mcnuggest. they really hit the spot. The biccey will soon face the superbowl again.
Omg that was the best burger McDonald's had to offer. I wish they would bring it back!
I notice this complaint is in 2007. Where is the Cheddar Melt at? This sandwich is from the mid 80's and has not been back since. Too bad tho, it's one of McD's best burgers. Ched Melt at McD's has grilled onions grilled in teriaki sauce. perhaps that is what you did not like about the burger. Bring back the Cheddar Melt!
Thats cause those onions sit in the QVC heater for hours and hours.
The sandwich is made on RYE ###. If you dont like rye, order it on a different bun... ###.
So, you hated the salt in the sandwich but ate the salty fries with no problem?
Frivolous complaint.
misleading marketing!
My stepfather goes to the same McDonald's every morning to get breakfast for him and my mother and so we got him a gift card for Christmas. We bought it at the store in Hermitage and he goes to the one by I-440 and Nolensville Road. These gift cards have been advertised on TV and we assumed that he could use it at any location. They would not accept it. This is unacceptable because they were begging for people to buy them. My mother is a shut in and they are up in age and this upset them. I also go by McDonalds every morning on my way to work for coffee and breakfast.

I am being taxed to death!
Checked my receipt from the drive thru window at McDonald's, it listed a tax of 17 cents for carry out. Never heard of a carry out tax sounds like someone has created a new form of taxing.I guess that lazy people are being singled out for discrimination. You mean that if I went inside that I would not have been charged carry out tax on my order. This is serious business the next tax may be a tax for using the restrooms. Please have someone answer in plain English or Spanish. I have reached my wits end when it comes to donating my money to the Federal Government.
Take out tax has nothing to do with dining in or driving through. It's a tax to "punish" people for eating fast food. Same thing goes for a "gas guzzler" tax on gas guzzling vehicles.
Why are you complaining about McDonalds? They have nothing to do with the taxes. Complain to your elected officials. They can (in theory) do something about the tax. McD's cannot.
mcdonalds runs out of high chairs!
First of all let me tell you I am not one to complain, but when I get bad service I have to speak up. Me my husband, and my two children went to Mcdonalds for a family outing.
While I went to order the food my husband went to find a seat with my two children. Upon arriving with our meals I found a high chair. I thought good, I need a high chair for my 16 month old. I was very disappointed to find that the high chair was broken. I had to hold my 16 month old in my lap, while I ate. This totally ruined my meal, as I could not enjoy it!

Maybe theyres others who need them too. If you see people that have them but not using them for an infant you then you would have a complaint
In USA servise zero but in Europe - on the first place in the world.
So, if you ever will wisit Ukraine, visit Mc donald's to compare...I assure you, you would be completly shocked:-)
Welcome to European Union!
Oh my god. I'm so sorry that you had to hold your child! That must have been a terrible experience for you! You could have put her on the floor, or just let her get hurt on the broken chair if it was that awful! Your life is forever ruined by that one experience when you actually had to TOUCH your child!
Just freaking let a manager know and move on with your life. It's McDonald's for [censor]'s sake. It's not a life altering experience.
While working at a Mc Donald's in Pana, Illinois. I experienced the worst type of treatment you could imagine by the suposed professionals working there. I had a sign placed on my back that said" I an a Hore", when I became angry I was told that I was over reacting to the situation. Some of the teen age boys I was working with were told that I was a stripper and the "guys" took up a collection for me to do a poal dance? when I complained I was told I misunderstood what was going on--I do not think so! During my employment there I caught the managers daughter drinking "vodka" in the office while on the clock. There are managers working in the store that will provide your teenager with booze if they ask among other things. I have had a knife pulled on my by another employee and nothing was done by the managers of the store. I am a person with disabilities and was forced to do work which would make my condition worse and was told do it or else you dont have a job. I have been psyically shoved by a manager that caused me to fall in the floor and was told that it was an accident and that again I was over reacting to the situation----I don't think so! this Mc Donald's is not a good work environment for anyone and something should be done--I tryed but failed.
That's it? Bring the car seat in and sit it in a booth...tada you have a high chair.
It sucks that they ran out of high chairs. But crap happens and it is not always their fault. Most of the time customers break stuff, and staff are unable to get it fixed because they need to call someone for repairs. GET OVER IT
I just left a Mcdonalds store in Harrisburg, Illinois. I've gotten used to service that totally bites when the delivery truck is there, but tonight really ticked me off. I live 20 miles away and when I got home I found that I had no fries! I was willing to overlook the poor customer service at this particular McDonalds until tonight. Get it right, or sell out to Burger King!
Move on you dumb ###! You have no idea what it's like working for customers with sour faces like you. If their is a problem, as appose to wining on here get of your fat ### and tell the manager. A lady and her child proberbly had a bad experiance cos u could not get off your fat ### and tell the shift manager so the chair could have been repairded! If the biggest issue in your life is a high chair, someone in your family is bound to get ill to teach you their are bigger things in life than a ###en high chair.
hi, my name is tyrone. I am an employee at mcdoanlds. i just got my paycheck and me and my follow employees have been payed way! less then what we was suppose to receive. I was payed for 19 hours when i should have been played for AT LEAST! 80 hours of pay, and not including overtime. We have families and bilies and responsibilities. WE NEED THAT MONEY!
I am currently a manager there and if you came to asking for that my answer would be "use one of the other 8 high chairs we have" or "theres no law saying we have to have high chairs, so get over it" you got what you paid for so stop complaining.
one of the most disgusting things I had seen in my life!
I used to go to the McDonald's near the museum district in ft worth at 3601 camp bowie, but no more.
besides the fact that they frequently gave me the wrong items, overcharged me, etc and usually blamed it on the fact that, although not in a predominantly hispanic area, the staff doesn't understand enough English to do their job...besides THAT- this was the last straw.
After making a breakfast sandwich incorrectly FOUR times, the girl making the sandwiches was observed absent-mindedly picking at her pimples as she prepared the food. she did this as though she does it all the time, and could not understand why i did not want her to attempt another egg mcmuffin for me.
the manager, area managers, supervisors, etc also seemed to be less than bothered by this bit of unhygienic behavior, but as a nurse, i knew there was NO WAY i could safely eat there.
Bad service is one thing, but this was one of the most disgusting things i had seen in my life!
I got fed up with all these fast food places that treat you like [censored], get your order wrong ALL the time, their dirty, etc...
the list goes on and on.
I know that there are so many other people out there that are just as sick of it as I am and think that they can't do anything about it.
Well, guess what? I just found a website where I get paid to pick McDonalds to pieces:) I'm Lovin' It!
The website is http://www.shopnchekshopper.com/ and I didn't have to pay anything, which was great, too. Any food that you buy gets reimbursed to you up to 14.00 AND you get your commission on top of that!
I did my first one today and man, did I have some fodder:) Everyone was grumpy, rude, the place was dirty, the food was old. And I got paid to b**ch about it:)
Like I said: I'm Lovin' It

I found a cockroach in my order from McDonald's Atteridgeville... I Recieve a call saying I should sort it out with Uber eats...i had to throw my order away... I feel the resolve from McDonald's was unfair and they need to compensate for it somehow... I am gonna put this on hello Peter...
I was left on my own after a very short time and this remained for ninety percent of my time with delivery and was not a problem except.
The stores are serious production feeds so must be respected and accessible allowing easy speed of control, stocking and, very important - the production side kitchen locating what they need when they need it. None of which is of importance or crosses the mind of a manager.
In the first year...
Boxes unbroken blocking the hall for delivery and stores access, also to the fire escapes and back yard floor every time the delivery was arriving; those boxes flattened in the recycle cadges still with plastic bags inside plus unbroken boxes under broken ones and general rubbish. Every time...
Complaints came from the recycle company despite my efforts to clear the three cages of the flattened boxes with plastic in, this as the delivery was arriving.
Bread pallets thrown about blocking the back yard with the boxes inclusive.
All store rooms were in a state (miss treated) every time!
The freezer, chiller, internal and external dry stores a thrown/pulled about mess every time.
Internal dry store, when I arrive, almost every time included a path way of apple pie cardboard wrappers from the back to the door way.
Despite this and now on my own, frequently pulled off to other areas/jobs.
Complained:
Apparently there being two to three managers plus one older in charge, they had to much to do, to many people to control; the real reason only told to me later at its end...
But
There was time for two young male managers separately to rearrange the internal dry store when they felt like it: it was better for me all of the six times; I was told so. The last time everything had to be put back in its place by me again to take the delivery.
Only ever competent/interested, who had the respect to listen, non grown manager arrived for a time, and I requested that the two be stopped from playing with that store. Pointed out that it is half empty when they play and alter; I have to have it set for the delivery.
Also noticed me struggling with the mistreated cardboard recycle cages and sorted that out by the next delivery.
All of the above other problems also evaporated for his time.
The two week shut down for refurbishment/franchise.
The external metal dry store had to be removed and I lost one third space. The manager brought in for this only then was informed that, putting any of the dry store upstairs breaks the agreement so cannot be used any longer as a production operated storage space, this was conveyed to me.
I informed that the input needs to be properly controlled, the delivery was too high. Also another delivery was required to control the loss of space plus the freezer was over full during holidays and all struggled to get to products or even get inside after a delivery.
These requests took months to implement despite the immediate changes required, but finally told that the ordering was being done now by site. Months later the extra delivery day, and it took even longer to get the freezer and chiller that should of been included; included.
The dry store delivery in general: Medium delivery 4, large delivery 8 cages
With boxes, mostly one of each, all open and accessible and their positions known by the staff, kept and set by me.
There was no stacking of the boxes, the items need to be directly accessed.
Stock can also then be directly, daily, counted for on site ordering.
The shelving was of good quality and (spacings with width an important factor) its wider because it is free standing despite the very tight space.
A month or so after a new manager the dry store shelves were suddenly replaced.
Before the delivery...
Now every shelf is packed FULL and more importantly, now stacked with boxes on top of boxes on top of boxes that people have to get into/find items.
Now the box of the item required had to be located, the boxes on top taken off, put on the floor (not allowed), then re-stacked.
A packed pallet on the floor stacked with various boxes. So no room for delivery before the delivery.
The upper floor, more boxes from the dry store.(during the shut down it was made clear to the manager by his managers and then to me that the upper floor can not be used as a storage space for the dry store as it is breaking the agreement by turning it into a production area)
A small delivery. Four dry cages, three had to be repacked with the fourth and left out in the hall by me.
The second time on delivery...
I was called over to the delivery door, for delivery, by two of your managers who have been with MD at least as long as I had.
I pointed to the still FULL dry store where I indicated and asked the serious question, ‘where do I put it, I’ve got no where to put it?’
Only to find one of them bent over through gritted teeth bobbing around and waving his fists saying ‘you will put it away...you will put it away’.
At that point I vacated the premises.
Ice rink, four years in...
Freezer streaming water internally at every one of its at least five daily defrosts.
Due to previous experience of this being left till dangerous; informed the then main manager of the serious nature of water running down through the food boxes to the floor and the serious affect of this ice build up.
I expected the managers be coordinated, pick up a phone to have the simple job done by an engineer.
Over a month no one gave a flying: then the problem was attended.
After the repair told by ‘that’ manager with surprise that the ice covered the whole floor whilst indicating it was two inches thick, something already conveyed to me as newsworthy by another worker. The safety carpet is half inch. A trained engineer had to come in, see and walk on it to fix a minor blockage.
Then to be cleaned-out by two workers. Safety glasses, shoes, gloves and a pick, at -18 degrees, should of been the minimum supplied.
The people in and out for you, using this, during their normal work attendance at that neglect... don’t have correct footwear. There is serous metal shelving located in a very tight area.
Chiller.
From the day I started was warned of the collapsing shelf in the chiller; four years on despite requests for that simple job; onion with water and produce boxes over the floor.
Delivery time change.
Despite warning for four years that the delivery was at a bad time. On a return from time off a lads informed that the manager had hit a car when helping.
Not long after- changed to the requested 7.00am.
I feel sorry for the kitchen.
As an employee of McDonalds I must say that is totally disgusting! That woman should have been fired immediately. Especially since management was aware of the problem. Management also needs to be replaced with more competent people that are capable of making sure the customers health comes first.
One thing I have discovered concerning McDonalds is the management is they are lazy and unwilling to do their jobs. They yell for the cash register workers to do everything. While there are a few of us that work our ### off to do what we are being paid to do. There are many that refuse to do anything. God forbid they should lift the heavy broom or mop. They may break a nail. They will stand there and watch others work. As a cashier we are expected to fill our stations, make coffee, keep fries down and wait on the customer as well as fill orders. Even during the busiest of times. If we have time between costumers coming in the store we are expected to clean the lobby and playland. This we are aware of when we hired on for the job. So "some of us" make sure these things are done.
Another problem in the store is the cashiers that DO NOT want to do anything. Leaving all the work for us to do. They want to stand there and look pretty or talk to all their friends. Management never says a word to these cashiers. In many cases the management is the problem. Our store has many video cameras. I just wish the corporation would gather up a few of those cameras and watch the goings-on in their establishment. Many so-called managers would be fired immediately!
There are times the managers will have favorites and target other workers. I've seen this happen first hand. It is very difficult to work in the same station with a manager that loathes you and gives you every chit job they have. Meanwhile, there stands one of her "butt kissers" doing nothing, and she/he gets away with it. If you complain, you just get more chit jobs. Seen this happen as well. While I have never been targeted myself, it all trickles down to the customers. The mood turns sour and the customers get the backlash.
On the other hand, I have to say that there are times that the customers come in and think they can walk all over you and say what they want and get away with it. Courtesy and manners work two ways. Being a cashier does not make you a way for a customer to let off steam. Cashiers have feelings, too. It goes the same for the customer. Things should not be taken out on them either. Customers have the right to complain if they feel they have been treated unfairly or not treated with respect. Just as cashiers have the right to walk away and let a manager take the rude customers order. That is the way we do it at our store. Rude customers are immediately given over to the manager to wait on. This serves two purposes. You are not returning rude for rude and if there is a problem, the manager can fix it. That is what they get paid for.
Thanks for letting me vent,
Steph
Workers couldn't understand english
This goes even beyond McDonalds, but I am tired of going to all of these fast food places and no one can understand English. We are told that you cannot fire someone for not speaking English, but yet you can be let go for not speaking Spanish. Something is definitely wrong here. The last straw was this morning when I went to McDonald's I ordered what I...
