bus driver was very rude, and disrespectful.
Time 7:30 PM
7/27/2017
Bus Route # 154
Bus number # 7610
Bus was heading to - Fort Lee
I Press the button for bus driver to stop, but driver still continue to go. When I ask the driver why din't he stop he told me no, and continue to go. I then told him I will report him, he then stop bus. If he would had told me that he was sorry I would had let this go. My issue is how he told me no in such a rude way. Very unprofessional, and nasty talk. Please check the camera on the bus . The stop was on 67th Street in JF Kennedy BLVD.
bus schedule
On July 24, 2017 - I was late to work due to the lateness of the bus at the Lincoln Harbor/Weehawken stop going to Port Authority. During the weekdays, I can catch the 158/156R/159R around 12:37. I stood and waited for the bus I normally take and there was no bus. I checked the schedule on the NJ Transit app and there was nothing. I kept checking the app until I finally saw a 158 bus with an ETA of 13:06. However, I was waiting on the bus to arrive at 12:37. By 12:50, there was a line of people waiting on the bus. The 158 bus did not arrive until 13:15. I am very displeased with the inconsistencies of the NJ Transit. What is the purpose of a bus schedule if buses do not show up at their scheduled times? I understand being a few minutes behind schedule but 30 minutes is ridiculous. People have jobs to get to. I hope that something will be done to better serve the people who utilize NJ Transit. Also, I do not understand how several buses can pass by the Lincoln Harbor/Weehawken stop going to Port Authority when there is a line of people waiting to board the bus. There have been several occasions when several busses have driven past due to not in service it because the bus is full. I believe something has to be done for the people who take NJ Transit at this stop to Port Authority. Thank you!
service
So many times we are subject to the incompetence at NJ Transit. Remember Hurricane Sandy where they lost their rolling stock and no one was held accountable?
Yesterday the 4:39 train out of Hoboken was held for a late train on the same line. A 40 minute ride took 70. Because there is only one track the [censor] decided it was better to make a thousand people late for a handful of passengers.
Another fare hike is needed to build another track because the existing infrastructure is too complex for the current staff to handle.
timing/197
The 197 bus is beyond messed up with your timings. Get it together! Some days im running after the bus because its 7 minutes early! Or even missing the bus because it is so early. Sometimes it does not arrive until minutes later after the scheduled time. Also, what is with changing the bus drivers constantly. There was a male bus driver for the past month or so during the very early morning route - great timing, great driver, kind, and always got to port authority early! Now, this new woman driver is so slow I am getting to work late. I used to take a coach bus from emerson, and never had a problem, especially with timing unless there was unknown traffic. I am so close to being completely done with nj transit, as I pay so much damn money every month and there is constantly a problem with this bus. No reason to keep switching drivers, from good ones to bad ones who make everyone late.
bus driver attitude
Re: Sunday July 16, 2017 NJT bus route 167T (bus no. 7412 per supervisor information, outbound from Port Authority @ 4:05pm).
This driver behaved in a very abrasive, condescending, demeaning attitude towards me on the basis of an error I made apparently in the zone number when I purchased the ticket on the machine. I had been prompted for a zone number and I entered 2. Apparently it was supposed to be 3. The driver was extremely rude including claiming I was a "smart aleck". He very rudely threw me off the bus for not having exact change (I had used a credit card and had only a large bill and he refused to make change). He laughed very sarcastically as he expelled me and took pleasure in making a scene as loud as possible to embarrass me. This driver needs a serious attitude adjustment. I do not know his name or ID number but his supervisor provided me with the details of the bus. I hope this goes in his employee file.
bus line 128 driver
Hello, Im writing with regards to driver for bus 7434 on bus route 128 along Boulevard East. Most mornings I ride with this driver in one of the most dense areas of NJ and I see people say good morning to her with no response, her complain about giving change back and say nasty things under her breath but loud enough for people to hear. Ive only recently moved to the area and started to take this route and I believe she represents NJT and should behave herself more kindly to paying customers who dont need to start their mornings with snarky attitude. It would serve NJT well to retrain her on the customer service aspect of her training as this is an area where she severely lacks.
arrogant and careless bus driver
This morning I took the 136 bus (Bus No7250) at Old Bridge P&R. I boarded at 7:21a and it pulled off at about 7:25a. We arrived at the NJTP Toll lanes circa 7:45a. All lanes were open for the bus driver to switch lanes even the lane right next to us. Instead she stayed in that one lane for nearly an hour. One man asked her whether she can switch lanes and not sit there for an hour since it's not moving anywhere. She snapped at him telling him not to tell her how to drive the bus. He expressed that while she's at work, we are all trying to get to work on time. They went back and forth for a brief minimum, but she chose to sit there. We didn't get through the tolls until 8:25a and reached the PABT at 9:02. I am not allowed to be one minute late. I get penalized for that and it can lead to being fired. I am enraged that I took a trip into the city to just call out of work so that I don't get penalized for being late when I could have been in on time had she stopped being prideful, careless, arrogant and heartless. The federal law protects such [censor].
pascack valley line 8:21 a.m. train out of montvale, new jersey
Dear Mr. Santoro and New Jersey Transit Complaint Bureau:
I ride the Pascack Valley Line 8:21 a.m. train out of Montvale, New Jersey. This letter serves as a repeated formal complaint concerning the Pascack Valley Line train conductor on duty on June 30, 2017, as responsible for Car No. 6506, and on July 5, 2017, as responsible for Car No. 6571.
I do not know this conductor’s name and this conductor hides (most likely purposely) her badge number. This conductor is an obese African American female with glasses. For the last couple of years, this conductor deliberately keeps the internal train doors (for the train cars under her responsibility) in the “manual” open position rather than the automatic door closing mode of operation. It is readily apparent this conductor keeps the internal doors open because she has difficulty walking (due to her girth) through the train cars to collect tickets/fares (and she perceives opening/closing the doors as an impediment) and/or because the air conditioning makes the conductor (who wears a sweater even on the hottest of days) “cold”. Either way, this conductor’s selfish, me first attitude allows the summer heat and humidity to enter and permeate the train cars and renders the air conditioning system useless. This conductor’s unacceptable behavior makes the train ride in the summer heat unbearable.
New Jersey Transit needs to remove this conductor from the Pascack Valley train line. Perhaps New Jersey transit can reassign this conductor to a less physically demanding position. In the meantime, it defies logic for New Jersey Transit to allow this conductor to unilaterally and deliberately inconvenience paying customers because the conductor is incapable of performing her duties or more sadly, derives satisfaction from making the passengers suffer. Either way, this conductor, protected by union rules, apparently believes she is immune from repercussions.
To Mr. Santoro directly−New Jersey Transit has told its riders to prepare for a “summer of hell” because of Amtrak track repair/maintenance beyond New Jersey Transit’s control. If this statement is true, then by the same token, it is within New Jersey Transit’s control to ensure that its conductors simply keep internal train doors in the automatic closed position during the summer months, when the train car air conditioning is functional.
All other New Jersey Transit conductors act in a professional manner. It is only this one “chip on her shoulder” conductor who consistently puts her needs before those of the passengers. I ask that New Jersey Transit remove this conductor from the Pascack Valley Line.
Thank you,
A Frustrated Rider
driver refused to let me out of bus
I got on the 159X Bergenline Ave bus at 6:43pm in Port Authority Bus Terminal NYC- June 28th 2017, Wednesday evening.
I realized I wanted to take the 159 local bus. We were still at the gate door. I asked the driver to open the door, I need to get out I'm on the wrong bus. The bus driver ignored me completely, and took off. He heard me. I did not whisper. I was already catching everyone's attention. I repeated myself loud & clear. He just took off. The first stop is 60th Street. I have to take other unnecessary means if transportation to get to my destination. I am reporting this incident because I was taken against my will. I would have called the authorities on him, but chose to file a complaint here. Please, do not ignore this.
Bus Driver ID#48289
Bus ID#5221
Time of boarding 6:34pm
Date: June 28, 2017, Wednesday
As I exited the bus, I told Driver#48289
Light skin, late 60's, few white hair, bald.
He continued to ignore me. Fine. I didn't want a fight. I just want to know, why he can get away in treating commuters in such a manor? What he did, may be in the bracket of Temporary "hostage"...If he was late, that's his fault.
bus driver on the 125
I got on the 125 at 8:56 PM he asked me where I was going after I put my dollar $.60 and I felt discriminated against because other people got on the bus and he didn't ask them nothing so he tells me where are you going and I said I'm going to Seacaucus Road in Kennedy Boulevard and he said well it's 255 he said have you ever rode the 125 before and I said yes I will do 125 plenty of times and I said no bus driver ever stopped me to ask me where I was going so I feel like I was single out and I don't know why this bus driver single me out I feel like he was discriminate or something what's up this is the first time this ever happened to me right in the 125. Or something what's up this is the first time this ever happened to me right in the 125 I got on the bus on 30th St. and Kennedy Boulevard. The bus number was 5300 and he came on Kennedy Boulevard and 38th St. at 8:56 PM so I want to make a complaint about him because I feel like he's single me out for some reason and it's never happened to me before and I want to report him to make sure that that doesn't happen again to anyone else please look into this problem thank you
nj transit bus driver driving dangerously/road bullying with bus
On 6/21/2017 at 5:15 pm, I merged onto RT 3 from the Garden State Parkway. After putting on my turn signal and insuring I had a safe distance I merged onto RT 3. The bus behind me (Bus#8308) decided that they were in a hurry and decided to pull from RT 3 into the merge lane to pass me on the right. He/she only got half way past my car on the right and the merge lane ended (Obviously why I was merging into RT 3 in the first place). As the merge lane came to an end he/she cut left forcing me over into another lane to avoid being side swiped by the bus. I had to lock my brakes and skid to a stop narrowly avoiding rear ending another vehicle in the next lane. The bus driver never stopped but kept going. The bus should have never tried to use a merge lane to pass on the right, and certainly shouldn't have just cut into traffic when he/she realized they didn't have room. They were obviously in a hurry despite there being a "no passengers" sign on the bus.
bus drivers not helping with luggage
On Sunday June 18th, I took a 6:30pm bus from Port Athority to Toms River, NJ. The lazy bus driver refused to put any suit cases in the underlying compartments. When we arrived at the bus depot my suit case was pushed so far back in the compartment, I could not reach it. I have a very bad back and could not climb in. I asked for help from the bus driver and he said he doesn't touch luggage. Thank God for a passenger, who had to be in his late 70s, felt sorry for me cause I couldnt help myself. He climbed in and got his luggage and mine. This was utterly disgraceful! This is the first time I've ever experienced this with a bus driver. All others were always helpful with luggage. Perhaps this driver needs some serious customer service training. If a passenger gets hurt climbing in luggage bays, NJ Transit will deal with lawsuits !
erratic bus driver
Friday, June 16, 2017
Around 10am
Bus #7990
LP # 0XX7447
NJ Transit bus was crossing over multiple lanes of traffic leading to the Lincoln Tunnel and driving fast and erratic. Driver pulled in front of me (without enough room) and I had to abruptly slam on my breaks and narrowly missed rear-ending the bus. I see drivers on a daily basis driving erratically, but this is the first time I've been in a near miss with one. I'd like the driver reprimanded for taking such a chance that could have ended horribly.
163 new york bound local not stop for passengers
This morning (Jun 13th, 2017), as usual, I was waiting at e. Ridgewood ave and maple ave. Stop for the 4:48 new York bound local bus. Seeing the bus coming, I waved hand for stopping, the sight is bright and I also waved with my mobile phone on hand, the driver just drove through without even slowing down, and speedy passing through the traffic lights.
weekend new york service
I was on the Raritan Valley line train that arrived in Newark Penn station at 8:10 PM on June 11, 2017, and the connection on Track 1 for NYP did not stop. Simply, the 8:10 PM NYP bound North Jersey Coast train, nor the 8:22 PM North Jersey Coast train did not stop at Newark. About 200 passengers were on the platform waiting for the connection. The trains were simply removed from the arrivals board when they were supposed to arrive. This is despicable weekend service by NJ transit and I am deeply inconvenienced, now having to travel to WTC via the Path trains, which adds about an hour to my commute. I am travelling from Bridgewater, and I should have been able to arrive in NYP by 8:30 PM. I am going to be an hour late on arrival. There were no explanations given to passengers on the platform, nor did the information desk have any information. This is a waste of the price of the travel I had to pay. Incredibly disgraceful.
newark penn station
On Monday June 5, 2017 approximately 1:35 am I was trying to get on Amtrak train # 66 which was boarding on track 2 both sides were locked. I asked NJ Transit police for entry. I was told they have no keys to open doors. After missing Amtrak train I tried to catch NJ Transit which was boarding on track A the same time as Amtrak. I also missed that train and had to wait until 2:13 a.m. and by the time I got to New York I missed Amtrak train number 66 and had to pay additional money for my travel. There should be more employees available during those hours to be able to open the door so that passengers can board the trains. The escalators and elevators should also be accessible trying to carry luggage up and down the stairs it's not safe.
24a
I was on a 24A Bus # 6542 heading towards downtown Newark at June 9th 2017 at approximately 9:27am. The bus driver, male, Afro-american, curly hair, approximately 50 years old. Very disrespectful, belligerent to customers and created an unsafe commuting experience. When I pointed out his actions, he told me to shut up and threatened to throw me off the bus. The driver was hostile, threatening and unprofessional to fellow passengers. He further went onto the intercom system with further belligerence.
aggressive driving
I was on the left lane, and an NJ transit bus (License Plate: OXX7772, the number on the Bus body: 7826) was on the right lane at the traffic intersection of Teaneck Road and Cedar lane at about 5:35 PM on June 5, 2017. Immediately after the light, the two lanes merge into one, and the bus cut me off from the right. Very aggressive, dangerous driver. Such drivers should not be on the road and are a danger to the public.
bus driver on nj transit bus
There is a very rude and irrate bus driver this morning on the 119. It's 6:33, we are on our way to NYC port authority. The bus number is 6015 and the 3 digit code on the front is 905. He is deliberately stopping past each bus stop to make everyone walk to the bus. Some of these people are disabled. People are trying to ask him questions and he's ignoring everyone. This is both unnecessary and unprofessional.
lying to passenger about the fare.
I was riding a Bus no. 127 via New York around 2:30 pm, May 31st 2017 from Broad Avenue @ Island Rd. to Tonelle Ave.@ 91st St. ( 4 stops ) I was disappointed from the driver. He took advantage the situation because I don't know how much the fare and how close it was. He was asking for
$ 2.55 for the fare . To the Management please find ways to control those wrongful act of the bus driver. Thank you.

I am devastated, I can’t believe these bus drivers get away with this stuff. The lady passed my stop after I signaled the button and I told her she did but she proceeded to to not let me off the bus .I work long overnight shifts I was tired and she made me walk 3/4 miles home ,she was very rude and even made hateful comments on God as she says she is the devil.SOMEBODY HELP ME PLEASE I WILL BE CATCHING THIS BUS EVERYDAY FOR WORK PLEASE HELP 🙏🏼🙏🏼 she can’t get away with this ..
Yep, I'm getting tired of it too! We should be doing something about this instead of just complaining. The other day, I saw a male bus driver with a thick accent. He was trying to communicate with who I believe was a teen girl trying to work on the app for NJ Transit. But because she didn't understand half of what he was asking, he would get angrier and angrier at her, becoming extremely rude! The poor girl ends up trembling in fear. Wtf….these are the bus drivers we are supposed to respect?! This happened yesterday November 25th at 86 bus, from 8 pm-9 pm going from Union City to New Jersey.
If he wanted to be an [censored] at least speak the language!
