Tolls & fees erroneously charged
I received an invoice (account ID [protected]) for tolls incurred by a motorcycle rider on 07.23.2019 for tolls I did NOT incur (Picture 1). The motorcycle, which appears to be a dark color Harley Davidson type motorcycle with hard fiberglass saddlebags & fairing was photographed having a California license plate "CHOPPER" yellow letters on a black background with "cal" on the top right of the plate. There does not appear to be the required month sticker on the top left of the license plate or the required year (renewal) on the top right of the license plate (see picture 2). I have contacted the North Texas Tollway Authority (NTTA) at least (2) times via telephone and (8) times via email to dispute these toll charges of $7.20 as I do not own the motorcycle photographed in question and have sent to NTTA pictures of my 2001 Red/White Indian Motorcycle with my "CHOPPER" license plate that I have had for over 18 years showing blue letters on a white background showing the required month sticker and year (renewal) sticker on my California license plate (see picture (3). I live and ride (I have a California Disability card) in Westlake Village, California which is adjacent to Ventura County California and have never ridden in the State of Texas. I have also submitted a California Highway Patrol (CHP) police report, requested by NTTA, which clearly states that a local Los Angeles area motorcycle club called "CHOPPER" are manufacturing illegal license plates with "CHOPPER" on them (Attachment 4).
NTTA has continued to insist I am responsible for these tolls, and has rejected the police report without reason and continues to send me invoices with escalating amounts due to it for Administrative Fees of $25.00 plus a telephone call to review "my account". I will not pay tolls and fees for which I am not responsible. Please have NTTA cancel these tolls and write them off.

erroneous billing of toll charge id 804921672
The picture you sent with the toll charge on the above account [protected]) is a truck with an unreadable license plate.
Our minivan with the license HBR0690 TX was locked in a private garage during the time the toll was incurred and is a totally different vehicle than the one pictured. I sent a reply to that effect in August, but I am still getting bills. Surely you have better ways to spend money than postage on incorrect statements.
doubling billing for tolls with ntta
I have been getting letters about tolls that a car registered to me has incurred. My son drove this car and he had a toll tag on it. The car is under this tag. I am not responsible for these tolls because it is under his tag, therefore they are double billing.
My name is Linda Corrao. My son's name is Asaph Corrao. The car in question is a black Dodge Dart license plate: KXB5549. I do not have his Toll tag account number. They already checked and my son has been billed for this.
billing
I called in to make a simple payment. I had a balance on my toll tag and a balance on an overdue invoice. I asked the operator if i could make a flat $100 payment and whatever was left from the tolltag to be put towards the overdue invoice and the Operator said "yes of course." Operator took my money and then came back saying she could only put the credit towards future toll charges and not the past due invoice. I said that's not what i agreed to before making payment, or i would've only paid the toll tag invoice. Was told by operator that they were sorry and there's nothing they could do, including refunding the amount now sitting in credit. Asked for manager and they said at best i can dispute it with the bank but that they could not and would not refund it. There was nothing i can do about this. Sickening customer service.

Please help me. I need to pay both ID plans on one license plate. So confusing. Please help me pay so I don not get taken advantage of like I did with the overcharging/fees of tolls.

erroneous toll road charge
I'm writing to report my discuss over toll charges (5 Sept 19) I received from the Sixt Rental Car company. Driving my Boss from downtown FT Worth to the Airport, we proceeded to use the HOV lanes as two of us were in the car. Unfortunately, nothing stated you had to have a "Toll Pass" as well. Thus, I received four tickets for missed toll charges. I have additional documentation as well to include photos. Unable to attached the Word Doc, can forward sepcor upon your reply.

fees for unpaid toll charges
I'm being charged $72.63 for a toll of $2.63. I admit fault for lack of follow through as most of my bills are online and I didn't see the last notice until 2 days after it was due. I called because I didn't recongize the plate number and it was the old plate ( I seem to have failed to update our toll account with the new plate number, also) on a truck we actually had a toll tag for.
While I understand it was my fault, what kind of modern day mafia is the NTTA that they can access just rediculous fees to such a small dollar amount. Didn't banks get in trouble for something similar. When I ask them to drop the fee to a more reasonalble amount it seems that it is already in collections so the full amount is required. If not paid they have the ability to prevent us from getting our registration on the truck and we can get a citiation as well.
Is this not a private company? How is this even a bit okay? I've slept on it and I'm angry about it I am going to pay as I am forced. This is just WRONG in every way. to make 28 times an original charge is offensive. We the people should stand together and stand up to this - can we sue?
toll tag
Treat people right and do the right thing. Do not let your card expire and forget to update it (because your life should stop to take care of this). You call to get caught up and they tell you, you can not pay the fees as if you had a Toll Tag and you have to pay the full price like you never had a Toll Tag. Even though you know I have a toll tag and that's why I'm calling. It's an abusive practice and something should be evaluated. There are people that drive the tolls almost everyday. Treat People Right.

incorrect charges
I live in Oklahoma and have not been to Texas in the past year at all. Today I got a bill in the mail for a car that supposedly went through the SRT Turnpike on 2/15/2019 at 4:50 P.M. The tag number listed on the bill is no where near what my own tag number says on my car. I do drive the same type of car, but completely different tag number. I have not been to Texas since 2017 and did not go through any toll roads when I was there. This car that I am being billed for is obviously not mine. I don't know how in the world they are associating my name and mailing address with this car. I did email them today, but since it is Sunday, I have not gotten a response nor can I call them. So I am now sitting here on a Sunday, wasting my time that I could be using for other things, trying to figure out how in the world they think I own this car. I got to thinking that this may be identity fraud, so I called the police department in the town where I live and reported it to them. They told me to wait until I hear back from NTTA and then we can go from there. If the NTTA doesn't get this resolved tomorrow, I am proceeding with filing charges as this is not my bill and either they or someone else is trying to commit fraud.
customer service
I spoke to a female who said her name was Cristian. I was confused and looking at the wrong date, and told her I hadn't passed through those dates, and she said "idk what your talking about" and I told her, "I'm looking at the paper, I was looking at the posted date and not transaction. I asked her a simple question, "which one am I supposed to be looking at?" This is where she raises her voice and says "idk what your looking at" and says nothing after and I tell her, "which am I supposed to be looking at " her reply is "ugh I don't know what youre looking at " I said I know "I understand, I'm asking about the posted date or transaction date" and she's like, "transaction date " at this point I asked for a supervisor in which she replies he's gone for the day and their is nobody there but I will get a call back and she laughs and hangs up.
customer service rep.
i got a ZipCash bill($52.53) from NTTA about a week ago on an a car i sold to someone i don't have any information about. apparently the guy drove the car through the toll way with my temporary tag still on the car. so i called NTTA to report that i cant pay fro the service i never used, the guy i spoke to do not have a thorough idea of how to resolve such issues. instead he was complicating the matter for me.
After going forth and back i agreed to pay the bill so i credited my account with the said amount even though i was entitled to a discount of $17.51, the guy (Can't remember the Name)said i am not entitled to any discount because the car was no longer in my possession. i got really mad because that wasn't my first time of paying a discounted ZipCash bill.
While still trying to explain to the guy on the other of the phone the call was disconnected, so i checked my account balance only to find out that he(Customer Service rep)had deducted the ZipCash bill he claimed i wasn't entitled to. Unfortunately, i couldn't remember the name of the guy i spoke to, i just let it slide since the cash was already deducted from my account.
out of state ripoff
Received ONE notice NOT three as stated in "COLLECTION" notice. I was in the Dallas area in March of 2019. Resident of Arkansas and unfamiliar with the area, used GPS to navigate to my destination. Apparently inadvertently used a tollway. I am NOT a scofflaw! The bill was for $44.31. NO explanation of the amount. No breakdown of the charge. Unable to pay by the website provided on the bill. Paid by phone, however I protest that any other bill was sent AND that the amount is excessive. NUMEROUS other complainants echo the same issues. Shame on the formerly once great State of Texas for perpetuating this scam on the public.
customer service
The customer service department of NTTA is a joke. If there is an issue they say a supervisor will contact you in 48 business hours, after reviewing the recording of the call. More like a week later they finally get back to you stating there's nothing they can do. When you ask to speak to someone above them they state "that's not going to change the outxone." What kind of customer service is that? Especially when there is recorded evidence of the customer being right?! What a shame.
toll
I received a past due notice from NTTA and there is a $10 late fee added into the billed amount. This is the first notice I have ever received regarding a balance due. I called the NTTA to discuss this and this the representative, Roslyn, was not able to resolve the issue and would not let me speak to a supervisor. I also asked for information regarding filing a complaint and she refused to provide me with any helpful information to be able to file a complaint. Account ID [protected] The $10 late fee without receiving prior notice needs to be waived.
incorrect charges
I was in a car accident on 5/24/19 and my car was totaled. I signed the title over to the insurance company as part of the settlement and they took possession of it but I was unable to get my NTTA tolltag off the car before they took it. I emailed NTTA on 6/24/19 advising that I had a new car and requesting that they delete my previous tolltags because they were no longer active. NTTA responded the following day and refused to delete them saying that they could not do that and did not answer the other questions in my email about fee associated with a new tolltag for my new vehicle. I was then charged $20.86 in tolls on 8/29/19 and 8/30/19 from the totaled car apparently passing through tolls in Houston. I emailed them again on 9/16/19 and advised that the car is no longer in my possession and the tolls were not incurred by me and requested that they refund my money to my account since my account now has a negative balance as a result of the incorrect charges. They refused and advised me that I am still responsible for all the tolls on the vehicle and I should remove the tolltag from the vehicle. I can't remove the tolltag from the vehicle because it's not my car anymore and it's not in my possession anymore. They seem to be intent on refusing to deactivate the tolltag and to continue to charge me for tolls on a vehicle that is no longer mine.

Between marsh and i35 the last few days have torn apart my car. You have manhole areas up 6 to 8" higher than where you shaved the road. Yet you allow motorists on it. At even 50mph I have lost a shock and tie rod end bent and now my car needs an alignment. I cant believe you allow traffic at any speed in those lanes. Both east and westbound! Wow horrible. I cant afford this!
customer service representative - shawnteria
09/03/2019 - called NTTA number at 817-722-1401 around 0932 to inquire about my account. The lady on the other side of the phone ( she said her name was Shawnteria) who kept on sighing everytime I asked her questions. I even mentioned it to her that as a paid employee of NTTA, it was her duty to be able to help me when I call instead of sighing at the customers. She said OKAY! I understand that your call volumes are immense and that it can get frustrating. But as customers who are paying to use the tollroads we expect our questions to be answered when we call, not to have to hear your disgruntled sounding employee sighing all the time. My total call time was around 25 minutes (including the 2 times she placed me on hold). This is utter unprofessionalism and such employees should be subjected to necessary actions.
ntta billing payment charge

billing...
I was sent a bill that I clearly did not rack up... I called and even went to a local location to get this issue looked at and I was fed so many lies that I had to walk away in hate. I was told that it takes 24 hours for this and since I didn't do that this is why. Also, The apps is different that the bill is correct... I even tried asking why did it take almost 2 months for me to get this bill if that's the case. I counted everything they told my with common sense, and it seemed to piss them off even more. I was basically told and looked at like it's not my problem its yours, pay it or not we don't care. I looked at my app and my bill that was sent in the mail. And on my app it said it was paid but the printout they fault to give me, it wasn't even on the sheet! This isn't the first time this has happened. I noticed this before that's one of the reasons I took my CC of my account... At one point I was paying cash in and out the airport and still was being charged. And now that I don't have my card on file for DFW I can't even go in because my toll tag won't read.
tollways
Is there any way to get a fee dismissed when you just accidentally or unknowing went thru a toll & couldn't exit beforehand? It's difficult to tell if you're on a tollway in the 2 spots I accidentally drove thru. The 1st was apparently at Basswood in Fort Worth. Not sure if it was I35 or 820 as I never saw it when I was lost, trying to get back home. The 2nd one, I was lost again & the traffic came to a dead stop on I35W headed S & I saw a road I was familiar with & took the exit. THEN I saw the tollway sign but there was no way to get off. I wasn't sure if I actually went thru it or not as there isn't a booth or anything. I never drive either of these - only accidentally got on them when I went on job interviews in a unfamiliar areas. I always check the "no tollways" when I map the drive but those roads are high speed & there's no time to react & no quick exit if you make a mistake. I'll leave my home town of Ft Worth if there's more of these. Hate them.
