NU Car Rentals Car Rental in Mauritius

No one to meet us at the Mauritius Airport.

Had to call a number placed on a white board in a miscellaneous window at the Airport. Took over an hour for us to get the vehicle. Was advertised as a 7 seater minivan and it was literally a 7 seater with no space for baggage. How does one not travel internationally without Baggage?

Vehicle was not maintained properly and was very dirty and not sanitized.

Battery failed after 2 days and we missed out on a day of touring while they tried to figure out what was wrong.

This Company is terrible and we recommend using a Company that actually has a Car rental booth at the Airport in Mauritius.

NU Car Rentals credit card charges,uauthorized card charges/ their ref: inquiry 576999

They debit card not athorised, since 29/06/2022, I had any purchaised from NU company. Have not heard from them, phoned to them, they closing the phone a moment you start asking them about a matter, sent to them 3 e-mails no responce at all.

The claim was filed by the claimant on the NU car rental company based in Estonia

Lennujaama tee 12, 11101 Tallinn, Estonia

Notice was sent to inform that notifying party NU car rental company intends to challenge that claim

on the Nu company in Estonia:

The claim will be challenged for the following reasons:

Full explanation and reason of funds debited from the card ending 0002 with the lack of the NU company notification to the client and with full explanation of breached international consumer law protection regulation.

2. Please organize reason and evidence and supports with relevant evidence and prove.

3. Full explanation to be provided in with the reason not communicated in written to the client

and the reason not notifying the customer in the exact day debiting the card without formal evidence of prove provided since 29 June 2022 thus far.

( Please record in your system that Claimant contacted first after transaction discovery

on 20 July 2022 to Estonian NU car rental branch after receiving a bank statement).

4. Provide and constructs the concluding statement that follows from support with full explanation requested by the client with the conclusion failing exact data accuracy in the agreement provided. Please explain the client if it is NU company common practice.

5. Please provide full explanation to the customer cause distress and inconvenience an NU car rental company conducting professional negligence.

Further action requested:

Please contact the party who hired and advertised by you or the party who failed to make the notification.

The Client would like for this matter to be resolved as quickly as fairly as possible.

If the matter is not resolved with in 2 working days further action may be taken.

NU Car Rentals Rip off

NU Car is the worst I have ever dealt with. We had a reservation with them in San Diego. We paid for our reservation in advanced... A week in advanced. The whole process after that was horrible. The directions as to how to get to NU car on the confirmation was not clear. After figuring out how to get to their location and we called them to have them pick us up. They said they had someone come every 15 min. We had to wait an hour... That is after we called. The company is only 7 min away. After we called back, the person still had not left the place.

Once we got there, the informed us that they did not have a vehicle for us. The customer service was horrible. The lady at the counter and who we called continually was very rude and not helpful at all. She said she did not know when they would have a vehicle for us. She said she did not have our reservation. But I had printed off my confirmation and showed it to her. I showed her that I had prepaid. She said she still did not have a vehicle big enough for us. We had 7 people and 2 were little children. Since it was not in the car rental place, we are stranded. It was on the 4th of July weekend, so screwed. As I said, she was rude and not accommodating at all.

While I was there another lady came in and said they gave her a car without plate and she was pulled over ticked and the cop thought she stole the car and wanted to arrest her. She turned the car in and ubered! There were 4 of them. We were not so lucky. We were stranded.

This did not make our vacation very great. Customer service was horrible! We did not get what we paid for! I talked to the lady several times trying to get to their location. She could have told me any time that she did not have a vehicle for us, so we could have had other options of trying to find a car instead of being stranded in the middle of no where with not options. She did not even try to help or be apologetic. She did not even care! She had a "not my problem" attitude... And she had an attitude!

I Tried to call your corp office only to be on hold forever. I finally left a message... but guess what to this date, which is 7/5, I have not heard anything from your company. Which is not a surprise to me. I see how you treat your customers and I am getting onto every website and spreading the word of how horrible I was treated and what happened and exacted what was NOT done Ever!

Desired outcome: There was a lot of things that could have been done at the time. But nothing has even been attempted...even now!

Liars and swindlers. Paid $196 for a premium car for 2 and half days in Denver. They didn't have one of course when I got there so liar said that he had a BMW x1 (that we hated) that he would "give us" for the same. Then he put all the added insurance and toll passes that I don't need and didn't want an then said the high price is a $300 deposit that will be put back on my card after I return it. What a liar! Of course customer service was no help. Don't trust them with anything if you have to use them. If you have other options, use those

NU Car Rentals Denver Car rental

Good afternoon—-

I have been using NU car rental for my many trips to Denver, Colorado. I am in Denver at least twice a month for business. The last two times the customer service has been beyond atrocious. Both times I rented a full size SUV, BOTH times at pick up the SUV’s were either not there or weren’t ready and I was told it would be a few hours to have them cleaned. The first time I was talked into a Full size Dogge Ram truck—-This was on 4/11-4/14 confirmation number #6670094434NU—By the way get terrible gas milage—I asked for a toll pass and went about my merry way but spent beyond a fortune for gas. The second time 5/1-5/9 I paid via Expedia for days at $286.43ish for the week and I asked for a toll pass. I was renting the car for my handy man, the car was in his name using my credit card. This turned out to be a night mare for many reasons. 1. He was not savvy enough to say no to the pressure of your sales people. They talked him into insurance that he DID NOT NEED—2. they NEVER asked if he needed a toll pass 3.They gave him another Dodge Ram truck because once again the SUV’s weren’t ready for a few hours. 4. NEVER did they mention to him how much a late fee was going to be 5. He doesn’t speak great English and he is black—the sales person totally took advantage of him and my daughter who is in college at CU Boulder. My daughter was not savvy enough for the pressure of the sales person either to say No to all the add ons. SHAME ON YOU ! They went back 4 days later to tell the company they needed the car another day—-all was good and they went on their way. When the car was delivered back there was a $250 plus late fee and there was no toll pass, so the toll charges added up. Also the $280ish dollars I had already paid VIA Expedia was not applied because my handy man was not allowed to use my credit card even thought I made the reservation in his name. So the price he got was at least $900 more then what I was renting the car for.. This is HORRIBLE! What is going on in the world and customer service? There is NO way I would have rented from NU car if I knew what the hidden charges were going to be, who is there right mind would pay $1000 plus to rent a car for the week when we paid $289.43 in full?

NU Car Rentals Never received my car rental, no returned phone calls, no refund,

I booked a van through Economy Booking (NU Car) rented a van and paid on-line. My flight arrived from Rochester NY to Phoenix at 4:45 on Thursday 04/21/2022. I took the Tram to the car rental place, took me a long time and lots of asking airport personal where the NU car rental place is. Finally found out where it was and got there by 5pm. I waited and waited for shuttle, no one showed up I waited for over 1 hour along with other people waiting for NU shuttle. No show. I then strted trying to call the 800 numbers from my paperwork and no answer or just rings and rings and rings. Googled the company and finally found another number. I called and they said there rental placed is closed, I said what the heck are you talking about. There suggestion was to rent from another company like Budget, Hertz, National etc.) and then bring that car back the next day to get the NU car... are you kidding me.

I then rented from National, next day tried to call again and after two hours of trying to get a hold of someone, they finally told me I had to email them and they would get back with me in 20 working days, worst experience for me and my family in my entire life

STAY AWAY! Booked a car thru Hotwire "Hot Rate". My credit card company covers my rental insurance on every rental. I was advised by the agent that wasn't acceptable. They needed me to send my personal auto insurance policy declaration page to them which I did. When they received it - they said I didn't have enough coverage - I needed $500,000.00 coverage...

NU Car Rentals Car Rental

This company is a gang of SCAMMERS. I rented a vehicle paid for 3 months in advance, insurance included. When I was at the counter, the MISERABLE in charge offered me another additional insurance. I refused. Ah, the problems began. They told me "I HAVE TO CALL THE SUPERVISOR TO APPROVE" I said..."approve what?"...After 10 minutes on the phone they started making stupid excuses...They said that when they swiped my card credit card for security deposit, my card was declined twice. I called my bank from the offices of these SCAMMERS and my bank told me that my card was not blocked. I asked them to try again. They did not want. I offered them another credit card and the MISERABLES told me no, they could only swipe one card and only 2 times. Then they told me that I could only use the card with which I had made the reservation. THE SCAMMERS DID NOT GIVE ME THE VEHICLE! I asked the MISERABLE at the counter to give me proof of the rejection of my card but the MISERABLE told me that he couldn't give me anything. They are a bunch of scammers! Do not rent with this garbage company because you will regret it. I HAVE A LETTER FROM THE SCOTIABANK BANK, ASSURING THAT THE DAY OF THE RENTAL MY CARD WAS NOT REFUSED, THAT THERE WAS NOT EVEN ATTEMPT TO USE THE CREDIT CARD BY THE NU PROVIDER! THEY ARE SCAMMERS! BECAUSE OF THOSE MISERABLES I HAD TO RENT ANOTHER VEHICLE THAT SAME DAY IN ANOTHER COMPANY AND IT COST ME 430 EXTRA DOLLARS WHEN I HAD PAID THEM 3 MONTHS BEFORE TO NU! DAMN SCAMMERS!

Desired outcome: Refund the 430 dollars I lost because of this

NU Car Rentals Rental car severely dented, dirty

Terrible company! They do not tell you that they are not located in the phx Car building. You have to walk with all your luggage to the visitors parking lot and wait for a shuttle (20 Min) and hope it comes. The rental place is about 20 min away. The customer service is terrible. Finally we got a car that was severely dented on both sides of the front and the hubcap is dented and rubbing against the tire making a screeching noise. They offered us another car for $400.00 more. No way. This is a very shady company.

I hope people who want to rent from them read all the negative reviews before booking them. I used Priceline and did not know who the rental car was from.

It was not worth saving $300.00 on the car rental.

Desired outcome: I would like a response from them, and a reduction in fees paid.

NU Car Rentals Rental insurance I did not want

Rented on 02/01/2022. Told the agent that I did not need insurance. He went through all of the information that I needed to initial. I thought he said you decline SLI and I initialed it. I was charged for it.

To pick up car, you are to go to Island 3. There are no signs as to where they will pick you up. Where are you supposed to wait?

They need to give instructions on where to return the car. Was totally lost and no one answered the phone. Had to stop at another rental car company and ask for directions.

Would never use this company again.

Desired outcome: Please refund my SLI money.

NU Car Rentals Nu car rental

Worst customer service I've ever experienced called to ask a question and they act like they don't care at all and just said this light is on and get my head bit off because it comes on. I was charged for additional insurance and fees for services I had to do in order to get the car I was expecting it to be clean and it was the worst smelling car I've ever rented with burn holes in the seats and scratches everywhere the glass had smoke residue on it and I had to clean the car. Also scratches and dents on the car along with the bumper falling off. Asked a few other questions and was rudely interrupted and they did nothing to fix or help out with the issue.

Desired outcome: Take these guys off Priceline and expedia

NU Car Rentals Rental Car office closed and not able to get rental fee refunded

Booked a rental car to be collected at Prague Airport after hours. Included in the rental fee was an additional 130 euros for after hours collection. The flight landed as planned however the Nu Car rental office at Prague Airport was closed and no-one was there to help. As I booked the rental via Expedia I called them, at the time, but they were also not able to get hold of anyone. Since then I have tried to get a refund from Nu Car Rentals and that have flatly denied to refund any money, even though there appears to be breach of contract. You have been warned!

NU Car Rentals Car rental in Cancun Oct 25, 2021

My experience with NU car rental was by far the most horrible and traumatizing experience I have ever had with a car rental establishment. I reserved my car on Expedia. I bought additional car insurance through Expedia. Once I landed at Cancun airport, NU was supposed to be ready to transport me to their off-site facility where I would claim my car. It took them extremely long to pick me up and then to drive to their location. At the location, I was told by the NU representative (Ricardo) that I needed to buy car insurance from him. I told him that I already bought it through Expedia. He then told me that Expedia insurance is crap, worth nothing, does not count in Mexico, and that I MUST purchase insurance from him. I insisted that Expedia is a good company and would not promote fake insurance. The NU representative disagreed, strongly. Tones escalated, finally he said that he will give me the car but will have to place a hold of $8, 000 USD on my credit card in case I damage the car. I said fine. He was surprised, assuming that I will just give in to buying his insurance or that I would not have the funds on my credit card. (I have plenty!) he swiped my card and then said "oh look, it's declined". Impossible! I have more than $20K available funds. Right then I called CHASE bank about my credit limit. They said that I have plenty of funds and that no one tried to put through $8K hold, as they would have seen the swipe on their end. I asked the NU rep to swipe my card again. Again, he said it was declined. I was nearly in tears. Shaken up. The man was terribly rude, indifferent, argumentative, with an attitude that clearly implied "you're a stupid American and I will take you for all you got". I had no choice. I needed to start driving the two hours it would take to get to my destination before it got dark. I told him that I will buy his insurance. He swiped my card, and WOW the card all of a sudden worked! He was totally conning me and I knew it right there at that moment. As I was quickly signing the receipt, my hand trembled and he arrogantly "…you better sign it nice and how I want or I am not going to give you the car". I could not believe what I was hearing! I told him that he cannot keep my car hostage, I have a reservation, I have given him my passport, USA drivers license, credit card, and what he was doing was unprofessional and unethical. I left so shaken up. Got to my destination right when the sun set. I have reached out to Expedia customer service. I will be reaching out to their corporate as well. This issue is much more than just rude customer service. This man threatened that he will not give me my car. He slammed Expedia and their products/services and totally lied to me which resulted in me buying double insurance. I read other reviews after my return from Mexico. NU pulls the insurance scheme with all customers. Despicable!

NU Car Rentals Charged me for extra insurance even after I had full coverage and comprehensive on my own cars

I lost my license on the flight to the Orlando airport and only had my military id. They then tell me it's illegal to drive with no license and that I have to pay for extra insurance to rent it. Weird if it's illegal to drive without license then how am I supposed to be able to drive? People were very rude and customer service was the worse I've experienced in any car rental. I've rented from around 5 now and definitely the worse!

NU Car Rentals Additional charges

I booked a rental for 10 days, August 30th through September 8th 2021, from the Orlando, Florida office. I paid the original booking fee and then when I picked up the van, there was an additional $224.80 charged but I'm not even sure what the charge was for. Is there anyway I can get a print out or receipt of what the additional charges were for?

NU Car Rentals Over charged

I have been trying to speak with a manager at the NuCar rental in San Diego for several weeks. I was over charged $166.50 and I contact the rental car place to inqurie about the charges. About a week ago I spoke with Ceaser who said I was chareged for a tank of gas which I should not have been charged because I picked the car up on a quarter tank and I returned it with a half of tank. Ceaser asked if I was in a accident which I was not. I need someone to give me a vaild reason for the charge or refund my money.
