7 th July 2023 I attempted to park in Church street Kidderminster for my daughter with additional needs orthodontist appointment. I had previously experienced much difficulty using the card machines at this carpark and so took coins too. After multiple attempts to pay by coins which kept not being registered, card which kept saying void(I tried two different ones) and the app which I couldn't connect to because of poor signal in area I was late to the appt and it added to the already stressful situation of dental treatment for a girl with many sensory issues. I placed all the void tickets on my car but still received a parking fine for £60. I decided to appeal explaining the above which was rejected to I appealed again to POPLA and that also was rejected and was issued with paying a £100 fine. Money like for many is very tight, so was waiting to get paid to reluctantly pay the fine and now been issued with a notice of pre court letter. And fine is now £120. I am so angry as the service provided was not working and I am the one being penalised even though I made every effort to pay. The letter I received felt very bullying, mentioning previous people who had tried to take them to court and the cost it had incurred. Nowhere has it been mentioned that someone will be looking into the faulty machines and poor signal when I know for a fact from not only speaking to other people at total orthodontics who had experienced the same issues and also 2 other Google reviews which say the same issue at the site. Also, the company have thousands of negative reviews against them on trustpilot. What is the point of having bodies to oversee companies like this if they are not going to ensure that they are offering a service which is accessible and fair! I feel deflated and angry as I am an honest professional person and I am not being taken seriously.
Desired outcome: An investigation into the maintenance of their machines and conduct.
