I am writing to complaint about this specific Perodua Service Centre called Auto Wangi Service Centre at Jalan Sungai Pinang, Penang which has been making up profit by giving false information and lying to thier customers/.

I am from Taiping and i am studying in Penang. My family is not wealthy but i needed to have a car to help me move around more convinently. I bought a Perodua Myvi in February 2009 at a Perodua Centre in Taiping and like any other cars, require to do maintenance services to protect the car so that any damages can still be protected under warranty. Since i am studying in Penang, maintenance services would be more conviniently done at a Perodua Service Centre in Penang. The first-year car service were at 1st month, 3rd month, 6th and 12th months. I did all the services in Penang except for the one on the 3rd month in Taiping. I don't feel comfortably when i was doing the maintance service at Auto Wangi Service Centre because they would always 'force' me and perhaps other customers to change certain car parts or add accessories, insisting that 'it is a must'. Maintenance services should necessarily just include those required to keep the car in good shape or maintain it, not unneccesary stuff to beautify it. This has amounted to charges of some RM100- 300 more than the payment for the just necessary parts like engine oil. They shouldn't give wrong information to customers just to make them buy a product. I would just be happy to live with the car at its simplest form as i am still studying and relying on my parent to pay for monthly instalments. So, in the 1st year i got cheated some money when they told me some accessories are neccessities. I was badly informed from represtatives of Perodua.

During the second year, maintenance services should just be done at 18th and 24th months. What they did at Auto Wangi Service Centre was by sticking reminder stickers on your car screen to inform you of your next maintanance service at an earlier date. They had me done mine at 16th, 20th and 24th months. This was not what was writen in the Perodua Service and Warranty Booklet. If the engine oil just need to be changed every 6 months, why should it be changed earlier. Definitely they are intending to make extra money.

Perodua has breeched the agreement they made with their customers when they people in their service centre act unlawfully to make more profit. Of course it is a business of selling cars for Perodua. But after having sold a car to me, they should not continue to earn money by giving false information and being deceitful. On each occassion of my AutoWangi Service Centre maintenance service, they have charged me so much extra. Maintanance services are actually part of the product you have bought from Perodua which is the car. Hence, if they have not done according to what was agreed, we the customers should be compensated or at least they being brought to face justice.

A normal maintanance service will only cost RM100-200, with even bigger cars than Myvi costing less than that. I have paid RM400 and RM300 plus for 2 of my car maintanance services. Asking customers to spend more when they do not have to is a crime. I would like the people at Auto Wangi Service Centre to be responsible for their wrongdoing and be brought to justice and to prevent others from getting cheated as well.

When i have my car serviced at the Taiping branch, it only cost about RM200 per service. They are more friendly, honest, helpful and again honest in their business. Charges are printed in the Taiping branch while only hand written at the Penang branch. Some of their handwriting are hard to read as well. Their staffs are also arrogant and rude. This difference in services between two places has brought me to think that some people at the AutoWangi are acting in their own way and not in accordance to Perodua vision of 'To be the most preferred automotive brand renowned for products and services of excellent quality which contributes to the development of the nation.' and their promise of adherence to their values of respect.

The car i am driving now is a good car but the service at Auto Wangi is bringing the brand Perodua some shame.

After experiencing all of this, i will never go back to having my car maintanance services done in Auto Wangi Service Centre anymore. I write this article because some people in Penang may not be able to travel elsewhere to have their car serviced. I hope my complaint will reach the appropriate authorities and Perodua headquarters that can bring this unlawful people to justice. Please help me bring them to justice.

Thank you.

I bought my Alza from AutoWangi and had my first service at the workshop too even though it is way off from my house. I was at its workshop for some advice on my car player settings a week after, and while there, I had a brief survey on the workshop, and found that they have kept the workshop in good, tidy and condusive work environment. So I brought my car back to this workshop for service. My experience is quite different from yours, that the staffs are answering well to the questions. They allow me to take off any item from the service and part replacement which I have the knowledge to tell if the items are necessary (like windscreen shampoo and battery terminals treatment). Other than that, I can trust their professionalism to do job correctly to keep my car in good working condition from the workshop condition i saw they have upkept. I only need to be wise enough to ask how much I have to pay for the service before I decide to bring my car there for the service without being surprised later with my unreasonable expectation of a dirt cheap service with all the goodies which other service center wouldn't care to consider.
Also, I brought my car in for the service due longer longer than the period and the time stipulated in the service schedule recommendation. I made it a necessary judgement on my part to save and take risk at the same time to do this as I'm a careful and experienced driver who do not stress the car and I know I'm in minimum risk of having my car breaking down while pushing a little extra miles and time using it after the schedule lapse.

I guess if you are buying a car as compare to a bicycle or a motorbike, you need to think of that you are paying a huge amount for that enjoyment of personal transportation convenience, and matter very little if a bank or your rich father is financing it for you, you got to start learning to be RESPOSIBLE to know what maintenace of that property is all about and the costs that comes with it. You shouldn't spend too much time complaining about things which you failed to do and others are doing it for you at a cost. This is a basic life education before you think others owe it to you to drive a car to school/college/university, and no amout of degrees and PhDs you will earn from doing it will justify that for you!

Thomas. (I have no interest and affiliation to AutoWangi nor Perodua for that matter)

my car was hit and there is dent on behind door and bumper is detached abit. i went to ask for car repair and they told me RM800+ if change the bumper, RM490 if not change bumper. then i went to another shop (not perodua), it is only RM400+ and RM280 respectively. after i go home, perodua called and said they can further discount -RM50 but i think it is still expensive.

i bought my car 15 months ago. On my 3rd month i noticed that there is air sound coming in from the window beside the driver seat, i took to Auto Wangi at sungai pinang, They try to rectify it but the sound was still there. After a few complain they told me that they have informed Perdua HD and waiting for them to sent a specialist. Until now everytime i go they will just ask me to wait for the specialist.
Its already 1 year and still auto wangi is not doing anything on it.

I almost have the similar case. My first time buying a perodua car and the car dealer told me to go to the one at Patani road. First time sending my car to service i saw Auto Wangi (since their worskshop is more easier to spot) service center thought that this is the one from Patani road. And when I drove my car in a Chinese lady approach me and when I asked them is this the S/C for perodua by pointing to them the map in the booklet for Patani road S/C and the lady acknowledge they were the one. As soon as they are explaning to me what service takes place I dont feel good and the moment when I saw them stamp on my booklet and it is stated Auto Wangi I quickly demand them to return me the booklet and I checked through this is not the S/C I supposed to go. Then I humbly apologize to them that I shudnt be here as my appointment has been fixed at S/C at Patani road. The chinese lady told me that the other service is not good bla bla bla...i just asked for my car keys and drove to Patani road S/C. The S/C at Patani road is more honest in their business and the staff there is very friendly too.
