climate controlled storage
I am writing to complain that I'm growing ever-frustrated with paying full price for what is supposed to be a climate controlled 10'x10' space at the Public Storage facility on Palm Valley Road in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida and yet it is NEVER feeling like the air conditioner is on and working properly when I visit the location. It seems to only affect my...

I've had my unit for six months now and have been on auto-pay since opening the account. Today I found my rate had gone up, from $267 mo. to $333, almost 25%! When I called to ask if I had been over-charged, I was informed that (naturally) it's in the contract that PS has the right to increase their rates at their discretion. While I'm not arguing a rate...

On today, Wednesday August 16, 2023 at approximately 12:30 PM, I arrived at the Public Storage to pick up some items. I noticed that there were no available carts and one of the elevators were broken. There were only 3 cars in the parking lot, so it was not crowded. I looked around the facility, on different floors, in an effort to find a cart, but I wa...

I have been a customer of Public Storage for decades. I currently have a small storage unit on Winnetka Ave in New Hope, Mn. The manager is so harassing and will call several times and consistently call when the payment is a few days late. I am a doctoral student and VERY busy! THIS PAYMENT IS ALWAYS MADE! At this point I will remove my things and take it somewhere else!

I have been trying to get my belongings from storage. I started calling August 1st thru August 7th left many messages with no return calls. When someone finally answered the phone, they stated they were short on employees. They have now cut my lock and put theirs on because they want me to pay $405.89 for the month of August. I would have been out by the...
Read full review of Public StorageBeing severely overcharged
I’ve rented a non climate controlled unit since 8/20 it has now increased in price by 90% , my original rate was $90 it’s now $175 nothing has been updated or upgraded, I don’t even have a functioning overhead light. I was behind in my payments in June 2023 my unit was due to be sold 6/23 , my lock was cut 6/22 and I’m expected to replace it at my own cost.
I contacted public storage about the rate increase and was told it’s due to demand. However I called and recorded an agent quote me a price of $50 dollars less for the Sam size unit except this one is climate controlled .. I have receipts and a recorded conversation to back up everything I’m stating . I believe this unscrupulous practice occurs because public storage is price gauging knowing folks don’t want to move their property . Shame on you
Desired outcome: Partial refund for the overcharge,
Not following contract, no security and no property manager.
Travelled to my storage locker in Oviedo Florida observed the security gate wide open and multiple vehicles coming in and out which I have pictures and videos of. Tried calling the office multiple times no answer left many messages for the property manager no call back. Why am I paying 268.00 for an outdoor 10x10 unit with this going on. The only reason I...

Subject: Complaint Regarding Stolen Items at Public Storage
Dear Sir/Madam,
I hope this letter finds you well. My name is Sepideh Homami, and I am writing to bring to your attention a distressing incident that occurred at one of your storage facilities.
On June 21st, I was devastated to learn that my rented storage unit at your [Location Name] facility, located at 16452 Construction Cir S, Irvine, CA 92606, had been subjected to theft. This incident has resulted in the loss of a great deal of my personal belongings, including cherished mementos, valuable possessions, and sentimental items of immense importance.
I would like to highlight the following details regarding the incident:
Date of Incident: June 21st, 2023
Police Report: I have filed a police report with the local authorities on the same day, and I have attached a copy of the report to this letter for your reference.
The emotional and financial toll this incident has taken on me cannot be overstated. The stolen items not only hold monetary value but also have immense sentimental significance, making the loss even more devastating.
I have always trusted Public Storage to provide a secure and reliable storage solution, but this unfortunate event has shaken my confidence in your company's ability to protect customers' belongings adequately. As a loyal customer, I expected a higher level of security and surveillance measures at your facilities to prevent such incidents.
In light of these circumstances, I request the following actions to be taken:
Investigation: I kindly request a thorough investigation into the theft incident, in hopes of identifying the responsible parties and recovering my stolen items.
Compensation: I expect fair compensation for the loss of my stolen items, considering their sentimental and monetary value.
Improved Security Measures: I urge Public Storage to enhance security measures at all its locations to prevent such incidents from occurring in the future.
I understand that unfortunate events can happen despite the best precautions, but it is essential that your company takes responsibility for the safety of its customers' belongings and ensures that such incidents are minimized.
I hope to receive a prompt and satisfactory response to my complaint. Please contact me at [protected] or via email at sp.[protected]@gmail.com at your earliest convenience to discuss the matter further.
Thank you for your attention to this serious issue. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Sincerely,
Sepideh Homami
Illegal auto pay withdrawals, two of them. According to bank of america and our attorney this is two counts of fraud.
Without our permission Public Storage withdrew two amounts of money by using Auto pay. We have never given them to use Auto pay. This is two crimes of fraud according to Bank of America and our attorney. I want that money returned to our account and then I will pay what is due. I just think it is outrageous that a company can take money without permission. How many other people have they done this to?

There have been several complaints about the Public Storage corporate office ON THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU WEBSITE, AS WELL AS ON OTHER SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORMS - NOW I UNDERSTAND WHY.
Another complaint is that Public Storage prices are often much higher than their competitors.
AS A LOYAL CUSTOMER SINCE 2011, THERE HAD BEEN FEW INCREASES ON THE PRICE OF MY MONTHLY RENTAL UNIT.
HOWEVER, SINCE NOVEMBER 2022 AND WITHIN THE LAST SIX MONTHS, AFTER MOVING TO A LARGER UNIT AT THE PUBLIC STORAGE LOCATION AT:
16100 S AVALON BLVD CARSON, CALIFORNIA,
THEY HAVE OVERCHARGED ME AND RAISED MY RATES SIGNIFICANTLY TWICE OR THREE TIMES between November 2022 and February 2023. EACH INCREASE IS ~ $75.
IT APPEARS THAT THE ABOVEMENTIONED LOCATION IS TAKING ADVANTAGE OF THE CREDIT CARD I HAVE ON FILE AND IS USING IT AS AN EXCUSE TO EXTORT ADDITION MONIES FROM ME PER MONTH, WHICH WAS NOT PART OF MY ORIGINAL CONTRACT.
Desired outcome: REDUCE MY MONTHLY RATE TO THE AGREED UPON AMOUNT AND STOP RAISING MY MONTHLY RATES EVERY TWO OR THREE MONTHS. MY UNIT IS NOT GETTING ANY BIGGER.REFUND MY CREDIT CARD FOR THE NEWEST INCREASE OF $80
Bathroom Closed Since July 1, 2023 but was closed even in June
I am currently renting a storage unit at Public Storage on 282 US Rte 46 Rockaway, NJ. The bathroom on the facility has been closed since July 1st, 2023 and today is July 14, 2023 as I am writing this complaint. BTW, the bathroom has been closed since June, but I do not have a Pic of the bathroom closure proving this. I only have a pic of July 1st.
I find it very strange to find that the bathroom has been closed almost a month with no repairs made to it?
It is not right to have a bathroom not working on the facility for such a long period of time.
Does any other renter agree with having a bathroom that should be in working order on the facility. And Public Storage should contact the manager at 282 US Rte. 46 Rockaway, NJ to inquire/inspect the bathroom for repairs if needed?
Desired outcome: Have a working/functional bathroom at Public Storage, 282 US Rte. 46 Rockaway, NJ.
Excessive rent increases / rat poop urine
Hi ive been a long time renter since 2010 for a 20x10 foot space. At that time rent was 122. Next year 1/2011 it went to 193, 7/2011 to 213, 7/2012 to 234, 7/2013 to 262, 7/2014 to 292, 7/2015 to 322, 7/2016 to 344, 6/2017 to 370, 7/2018 to 451, 7/2019 to 453, 7/2020 to 491, on 7/2021 to 533, 8/2022 to 638, Feb 2023 to 733. went from under 300 to now 733, increasing at higher amounts, on top of that the units had a rat infestation in 2019, so all my stuff is covered in rat poop and urine, talking with management does nothing, they gave me a ray trap. Then the pandemic happened and lockdown but rates continued to increase. I have unit insurance.

Public Storage
I have four storage units with Public Storage. They routinely increase storage rates substantially more than the current rate. One of my units has been priced at $100 per month. I just received 30 days notice that they are increasing the rate to $129 per month. That's a 29% increase. They know consumers are likely to keep their units so we are trapped with rate increases that are far above the cost of inflation. This is bad faith and, in my opinion, racketeering.
Desired outcome: Rate increase tied to inflation or at least 90 days advance notice so we have time to explore other options.
The storage unit I rented has a roof is leak.
On June 29, 2023, at around 4:45 PM I went to storage unit (B0350) I rent at 911 State Road 7, Plantation Florida. As I entered the storage unit, I heard drops of water. I immediately looked at my packed boxes to assess exactly where the dripping was coming from, when I looked up, I saw a crack in the roof and water was wetting up my boxes of items. I...

Hello,
I rent two units at the Public Storage Facility at 4200 NC 55 Hwy
Cary, NC 27519. I moved into these units at the end of January. I am approaching the 6 month mark and I have already been hit with an price increase. I expected an increase at the 1 year mark, but at 6 month, why? I have been a long time customer of Public Storage and sign your praises whenever a friend asks for a recommendation. I don't understand why am I getting an increase after 6 months? Trying to connect with a live person is IMPOSSIBLE since my facility has gone full self kios. Can you give me clarification. My units #'s: 1210 and 2205. Please respond back to [protected]@nc.rr.com.
Thank you!
Desired outcome: Keep my current rates of $180 (#1210) and $115 (2205) until the one year mark.

Read full review of Public StorageCan't get a refund on a monthly rental space charge when i'm moving out of the rental space early
I'm a customer at the public storage facility in orchard Park, New York... I've been renting at this location for 3 years. This year I was still in my rental unit going into May. I store my motorcycle here. Anyhow I went into may by like a week... when I told the property manager I was vacating soon and said I'll probably be out by May 7th so I would like to get a pro rate refund on the amount of days I would no longer be there. I was told public storage does not do refunds on early rental departures. Wow really? I mean cmon... I paid for the whole month and if I'm leaving early don't you think the customer should be given a credit back to his bank for rental charges he clearly isn't using? I mean that's just responsible customer service if you ask me.. I'm not at all pleased with this non refund policy andvI really think the customer shouldn't be penalized for leaving his space early. I'm really hoping someone at corporate level can take care of this for me.. Stephen Yanacek
