Storage unit
I was unable to access my storage unit myself for over a year due to the door being broken. I repeatedly reported the issue and each time I did, they couldn’t locate the prior request. They allow/not share the ticket #. PS clearly knew there was an issue as I was given credit twice early last yr (so it was clearly known by PS my unit was an issue). However, the remaining months and as of today I’m still charged each month over $200 for a u it I can’t acces/use. Finally, in Dec22 I was to the point I will not pay unit I can access my unit. The local Property Mgr co texted the district Mgr. This whole process took another 2 wks to see any movement. Then I was advised I would need to meet & let them put the PS lock on my unit for someone to fix. Unbeknownst to me this vender did not even have someone from PS on site to see what was being done and to watch my personal belongs. Fast forward 2023. I finally have my storage unit back 1/28/23 (due to PM not on site except for a few days a wk and my working schedule & locks had to be exchanged. I advised the PM at the time that I would like a call frm District Mgr to discuss my issues and payment. A call wasn’t returned until 2/1/23 (he had to leave GM as I was at work). I called back 2/2 and currently still waiting on a return call. I have not been given any credit for all the months paid after repeatedly telling the PM to submit a ticket. I was advised back in Dec22 by the PM’s discussion w/District Mgr that I would at least receive a month and I said that is not acceptable.
Desired outcome: Credit for a unit I have been unable to access and at least an apology at a District Mgr level who accepts they failed a paying customer-big time.
Price gouging rent increases
I have been a customer with public storage since 2019. Every month my rent has increased unjustly and without notice with a demand for payment or my things will be sold. This is extortion! This small 10x10 unit started almost $150 a month and now somehow has ballooned without notice to $590 then a late fee for $30 and then a $390 lien fee! For 1 month they...

I originally (November 2021) had 2 units at Public Storage. Due to constant price increases, I combined them into a single 10 X 15 unit. I just received an email about another price increase and my 10x15 unit is now going to be $300 a month?! What’s even more frustrating is the fact that that there are several storage places (and two other Public Storage locations much closer to my current address). They are advertising much less and the Public Storage locations are advertising $147 per month AND the 1st month free for the same unit!
Desired outcome: I would like to pay the advertised price and not have so many price increases. I would appreciate a response with a reasonable solution.
Insurance claim for burglary on rental unit
RE: Insured: Rose Anne Raymond
Date of Loss: 10/07/2020
Type of Loss: Burglary
Claim Number: [protected]-0001
My storage unit got broken unto and my lock was changed without my permission. After the police were called and managers were made aware, months later an offer was made to only cover two items out of the many items that were stolen. I am forced to provide receipts that I no longer have. I provided pictures and some receipts but were denied. At this point, I feel mistreated, and my case have been handled unfairly. I try reaching out to

She has not responded. I request to be contacted by emails, and still no response.
Desired outcome: To be compensated for the replacement of my properties that were stolen on rental unit. PSPlease, is there a different way to send the pictures? For some reason, they are not uploading to this site. I have tried many times.
Facility in general
I recently purchased an auction unit on Tuesday 1/24
I bid on 2 units and stopped bidding on the 2nd unit when I won the 1st unit.
Apparently, something happened with the actual winning bidder on the 2nd unit.
Fast forward, I got an accept/reject offer on the 2nd unit today, 1/26 at 3 pm. Before I responded, I called the facility to ask the clean out time frame.
I mentioned that I am heading out of town Friday at noon and will be gone for the weekend, so if I accept, can I have till Monday afternoon to clean out the unit.
I got transferred to Kelly, the facility manager and he told me I had till Saturday afternoon with no exceptions, claiming that is Storage Treasures or the corporate set rules.
I would have accepted yet couldn't do it by Saturday afternoon. FYI: I usually am provided with a gate code by facilities, and this one didn't want to give me one and I had to stop each time in the office to gain access.
Please call your facility 24341 on Westerville Rd @ [protected] to inform them of that customer service is supposed to be # 1 priority. I would never rent a unit from this facility if they are this difficult with a simple auction.
Additionally, I was part of a family business for years that built and ran 2 storage locations and have been purchasing storage units at auction for more than 20 years.
I attached a screen grab of the unit.
Desired outcome: 1) Allow me the time to cleanout the unit and, hence, I would accept the unit.and2)Educate the facility before you lose to many clients or potential clients.
Unit pricing
I have had up to three units at Public Storage for over 5 years. I recently reduced to one because they kept raising the rate to where I was paying up to $400 a month. I currently have a 10x15 unit and paying $224 a month. The same unit right now is renting at $147. I called to get my rent reduced and they told me that was the going rate even if the site had a lower price. To get a lower price I would have to make a reservation for new unit at $147, remove my things and wait to see if I could get into the unit. They would let me know. It is outrageous!
Desired outcome: Get the same price for my unit that is currently being advertised. I’m the type of client I think Public Storage wants to have.
Making a payment for the storage
It is crazy for Public Storage to charge $20.00 extra to make a payment to them over the phone to pay for your storage. I will never use this company again its money hungry. Customers should be able to make a payment to their account without paying extra money to make a payment. You have to go into the office to make the payment because they charge 20 dollars if you don't. Make sure to inspect companies before doing business with them. Have a blessed day.
Unit theft and rodents and pricing
My Name is jerry Coleman, Unit A110 I have had Public Storage for over 20 years and pay on time and ahead of time. The last 2 months, someone or an employee has been stealing out of my unit and there has been (Rat) droppings and items destroyed in my unit.
Although the Manager at this location is a nice person, I feel is un-reachable 90% of the time. Public Storage keeps raising my prices and not offering any bigger units. People throw trash all over the place and leave in front of my unit and just doesn't care-because Public Storage-seems to bare no standards and keeps raising prices. What are my options at this point for claims. I also thought that if there is a Rodent problem, I should be told about it and this needs to addressed.
Desired outcome: Please lower my price-to it s price of about $55.00 a month and refund me for stolen items-tools golf equiptment,TV and electronic.
Elevator malfunction
My move in date was scheduled for Jan 1, 2023, for a 5x10 climate controlled storage space on the 2nd floor. My husband and my brother in law went to store our things when the elevator door closed, leaving all of our things inside the elevator. It is Jan 2, 2023 and my things have been stuck inside the elevator for 24 hours. Customer services is unhelpful...
Read full review of Public StorageFees and harassing phone calls
We rented a space due to a water intrusion in our home - we have always paid by dropping a check - over a holiday weekend we were unable to drop off a check so we decided to pay online - after 20–30 minutes of error messages stating the site was not responding, we gave up. After the weekend, we called to let the office know we would have to drop a check because we were unable to pay online… when we dropped off the check for storage amount only, the representative explained we would still have to pay a late fee? We asked for a corporate # to no avail. Worker said they would send a request to remove fee. Fast forward 3 weeks - we now have a late fee and lien? We have received at a minimum 25–30 calls demanding payment of late fee and lien or account could escalate to auction? Seriously? These guys really need an audit - this is absolutely to no fault of ours and quite frankly totally unacceptable. We never received the call back, despite speaking to a rep, Barb, who said that she felt this fee should not be on our account and would do everything TP get both removed … 15 more calls - we were harassed into paying …
Desired outcome: Refund
Management
I vacated my unit through the public storage app. I left the lock I purchased from public storage on the door, believing management would have a duplicate key. I received an email stating my rent was due and I returned to the facility to speak to the manager on duty. She told me that the lock had to be removed and that I would not be charged since nobody needed the unit, and that my account was paid in full according to the computer. I recently received a notice from a collection agency stating I owed $327.60 for a month's rent and a late fee.
Desired outcome: I want a refund for the last payment of $327.60 paid on 12/27/2022 because the manager used a public storage computer to access my account which showed no new charges or fees.
Rip off
I went to my storage unit today to find our lock was gone and another lock was in it's place I called my wife to tell her she told me that she paid there should not be another lock. She called the frount desk to find out what the problem was we were told it was broken into on dec 21st and nobody told the other staff or contacted us or called to tell us that...
Read full review of Public StorageStorage unit rental lying about fixing unit water leaks mold
Public storage fail to repair the ceiling, mold and waterleak was reported to the property relief managers, they claim they would put a work order and later that it was fixed, leak never was fixed now they are saying the leak was never reported and I have numerous pieces of evidence to prove they are lying, I lost most of the goods I had stored do to them lying about reparing the leak and greed they want repair there property and they lie about being contacted I even reported the flood to fema, this is a horrible business, they started being petty about rules, when I reported the leak, I spent over 5 thousand dollars with these people, and they got patches in the roof, water and mold, and they dont care
Desired outcome: replace my damage property
Raised rates without notification, overcharging and creating over $ 500.00 in overdraft fees to my account.
I have been a customer since 05/29/2019. My original monthly rent was $ 106.00... I put my account on auto pay and didn't worry about it for several years. I then received a lockout notice and auction date. I was advised by my property manager my monthly rent was now over $ 300.00 per month. I requested and received a $ 100.00 deduction so my rent is now $ 209.00.
On December 02, 2022 I noticed nothing had posted to my bank do I made a one time payment of $ 209.00, on the 4th of Dec. I saw that both went through. I requested a refund from my property manger of $ 209.00 on the 5th. Then two more charges of $ 209.00 went thorough my account. I contacted Customer care who said nothing showed on my account, and I would have to go into the location. I informed then I am 100% disabled and that is very difficult. I was then advised to go to the nearest location. I took in proof from my financial institution that showed the refund along with two more charges on the same day. Due to this my account is now $ 503.75 in the hole due to overdrafts and my line of credit being used to cover my monthly expenses. This will be going on for two weeks tomorrow. Six days from Christmas. I had someone call me back who was so unprofessional and of NO HELP... I believe the name she gave me was Lisa. I was not nice to her I will admit but she kept threatening to end the call if I didn't talk to her the way she wanted me to. All the while she was yelling at me. I am a 25 year LEO disabled veteran. I am more than happy to send proof of my disability and career status if so required. I also asked my property manager (Who is terrible at answering or returning my calls) for a complete copy of my file with ALL price changes along with how I was notified, with the lockout and auction information also. I was told I could download it myself. When I downloaded the forms, I only have the original Rental Agreement and the bank information I took in. I believe this is fraud along with bate and switch. I can be reached at [protected] or the Email you have on file. I am filling a complaint with the BBB along with the Utah State Securities Divison on Thursday Dec. 22, 2022 if this matter is not resolved. Thank you for any future assistance. Dave M
Desired outcome: Reimbursement of $ 503.75
i used to have them back in 2021, i checked my contract before i canceled and its actually mentioned in the fine print in the middle of the stack of papers that is your contract. they state "by signing this page you agree to us raising the rent per month as needed". i left cause there was no need to have the unit.
as for the double charge and not reflecting on your account OP, that sounds like it is that location specifically that is being shady not posting it to the account.
samething no notifcations they run this company like they are street huslting people and the goverment dont have no protections, and they ouright lie people need to come together and file a class action for breach of contract, they void the lease agreement with lies and its wrong
Breach of contract, poor management, over charges
Make note that in addition to this complaint I'll be filing a complaint with the BBB in Washington State against this bait and switch company. I've been with the public storage for almost 6 months, and it's been unnecessary drama from jump
with the no light in the unit or hallways making the place unsafe. I can't get help from staff when I do go to the property. I'm now being over charge and ignored by the district manager whose number is [protected] and her name is Channel who has failed to return my calls or address any of my concerns as a customer.
Unfortunately, I lost my bank card linked to my autopayments however I received a new bank card by the 3rd of the month and that's when I paid my storage unit, and I was charged another $53 dollars for what I guess is a late payment fee on the 3rd of December breaching the contract by Public Storage as late fees are not applied till the 5th of the month. Again no one is accountable for this over charge leading me to also file a complaint with my credit union for the over charge that I was told over the phone couldn't be reversed by public storage staff as the district manager had to do it and Channel refuses to acknowledge me or the issue created by Public Storage.
I rent a unit at 23600 Military Rd S. Kent Washington [protected] and I am now looking to move a.s.a.p. this company is a scam, a bait and switch unnecessary drama and no accountability for their clear breach of contract with new customers they are just shameful, unfair and greedy, General public ppl beware of this unethical cooperation fleecing the general public at will maybe a class action lawsuit will make them do the right thing.
Desired outcome: refund immediately
Rental monthly payments for a 5 x 5
I've been with the Public Storage in Citrus Heights, Ca since 2004 and have my rent on time every month. Ms. Margaret Kawaharada
public storage never send you rate increases unless you say some very shady crook company, they lie outright in your face just to make a profit ,and dont care about breach of contracts,im just amaze how these people go unregulated ,they breach most of there contracts outright and you have to spend money to sue them because they got big money its sad how they lie
i used to have them back in 2021, i checked my contract before i canceled and its actually mentioned in the fine print in the middle of the stack of papers that is your contract. they state "by signing this page you agree to us raising the rent per month as needed". i left cause there was no need to have the unit.
My public storage location at 8900 Creek run road fort Worth Texas 76120 has had no power for over a week.
I showed up on Monday November 26th with my friend who has a truck with the intention of emptying out my unit before the 1st. When I arrived I was told they couldn't open the gate because there was no power after waiting for an hour I left. I turned later that day and then open the side gate but my unit is inside and it's dark I couldn't see anything I left...
Read full review of Public StorageNobody on site & access door now has a lock
We have had a small storage unit for two years & have the rent automatically deducted monthly. ($122 a month for the smallest unit.) Payments are current.
Recently a lock was placed on the access door to our unit & several others. We were never notified (if it was by the manager) nor emailed to give us the code.
For almost a week, there has been NOBODY working in the office. The website offers no help other than giving me a form to describe my issue.
There is NO PHONE NUMBER available to talk to a human.
Do we lose our belongings? If we can't find out what is going on & nobody is in the office...I'll be forced to cancel the auto payment.
I am 77 years old & this payment takes a big hunk out of my Social Security. I have no other income.
Theft of trailer 2 days after I paid and parked it at 1881 n decatur lv nv
Today @ 1455 the district Manager at Public Storage just confirmed “ I don’t care” is their official Corporate stance! My trailer was stolen 2 days after I parked it at their facility here in Las Vegas, despite having insurance on my storage locker, apparently this does not extend to the parking area? So no restitution for my loss (remind you the trailer...
Read full review of Public StorageCharged for unit even though I didnt feel the facility was suitable for storing belongings
I reserved a unit on 9/16/2022 at 1795 Cobb Parkway a couple weeks before my move for a 9/26 move-in. I had originally planned to move on Monday, Sept 26, but had to push this to Sept 27 due to movers availability. When i rented the unit, i was charged the first month rent of $227.19. When i arrived at the unit on moving day the facility was old and run down and the unit i was assigned had a hole in the back. I had chosen a non-climate controlled unit but expected a more secure space for my belongings. I spoke to the manager at the front and let her know that i didnt want to move into the unit but all she did was refund me $21.19 for the lock that was included in the original charge and said that i would need to contact customer service for a refund. I rented a climate controlled unit a mile away from Public Storage thinking this would be an easy discussion with customer service to get the refund on the first unit since i was renting a more expensive unit instead. Speaking to customer service is very frustrating as they refuse to help. I was told since i had passed the 1st day of the rental period (i decided not to move-in on day 2) that I would need to pay the full months rent on the unit i didnt move into. I was so frustrated with the agent and his inability to help that i decided i would do a disputed against my credit card charge. The charge was removed from my mastercard but now have the balance back on my public storage account and being contacted by collections for the amount. I have recently moved out of the climate controlled unit that i moved into that day. I have one more unit will family belongings that i need to close out and avoid doing business with public storage in the future.
Desired outcome: I would like Public Storage to remove the charges of $206 for the storage unit that i declined to move into based on the condition of the facility and the unit.
