EBB Safelink Service
I had safelink EBB service for approximately 6 months beginning in June of 2021. Here is a list of the problems I encountered. 1) the SIM card they sent me did not work. They sent me another which worked fine for about 3 months. 2) In September 2021 I received a post card saying that I had not made any calls in September and my service would be canceled because I had to make at least one phone call per month. I knew about this requirement and had made SEVERAL calls in all previous months, but apparently their system did not record them. 3) In October 2021 I took a road trip across the US and wanted to use the cell service to connect to the internet via hot spot tethering. I got a message saying that my service did not support this function. I had used it several times prior. I called customer service over 50 times to try to get this resolved. Every time I called I got a different person and a different answer. All assured me I should be able to use the service and no one could tell me why it was not available. They could not fix the problem. They sent me a new SIM card and it still would not work. 4) I decided to go with another service provider. But in order to switch I had to have an unlocked phone. I called Safelink Customer Service again and asked them to unlock my phone. They wanted a fee of over $40.00 to do this. I refused. Again they told me they would be able to fix my problem, I told them that they had tried over 50 times and had not fixed it (one person I talked to told me to go to WalMart and buy another phone). They refused to unlock my phone unless I paid the fee. I found another service provider for New Mexico and signed up with Qlink (which is crap BTW). I had to get a new phone and new number because Safelink refused to unlock my phone. Because I am on a limited budget, I had to buy a cheap phone from Qlink which is absolute crap. Now I will have to buy another phone and transfer to another service because Qlink is so bad.
Desired outcome: I want a new Samsung A01 cellphone, new SIM card (Verizon accessible) and my Safelink Service restored.
Plan Qualification
My mother qualified for a phone and a plan on December 15, 2021 and has yet to receive any kind of notification or a phone, a phone call, an email, nothing. I am her daughter and have called numerous times and have had no luck in finding out what the issue is since she has already been approved and qualified. The notice says she would receive her benefits in 7 to 10 business days and you can see it has been much more than that. My mothers name is Locha L. Jordan and the Enrollment ID is [protected].
Desired outcome: A phone and plan that she qualified for.
Lifeline benefits not refilled as service is active till 08/05/2022
Safelink/tracfone are the same. I qualified for their lifeline program under the government guideline, however every first of the month I have to either call or chat about this issue only to be sent back to their enrollment department and redo the process again, which means sending more and more personal information just to qualify. I was approved once why do I have to redo this process every month with this carrier asking them. "why is my balance summary at zero all across the board"? Their answer..."you have to call our enrollment department and let them check your account"
Desired outcome: my enrollment plan should be refilled and should not have any interruptions as stated by this government program!

Have been having problems since last month "Nov 2021", its now the first week of December and I haven't received my monthly minutes! Have called safelink wireless customer service! They speak poor English and I've been through 20 different people, on the phone, and their online service. NOBODY HAS A CLUE! They keep repeating their SCRIPT! And I'm left hanging! Just wait 5 days and you should get your minutes? WELL IT'S BEEN 6 DAYS! AGAIN NOTHING? WHO hires these clowns? Used to be a GOOD company and Service that has went down the crapper, like just about ALL OTHER GOV'T SERVICES!

Called for my elderly father because his old flip phone he had through safelink the back lighting it's dark I can't see the screen. When you answer that powers off the front screen don't even show you who's calling anymore to try to get him a replacement phone. Talk to one lady she's like we got to troubleshoot your phone couldn't understand what you were saying cuz you was talking so fast got transferred to someone else they wanted to talk to back off and battery. Did that now his phone won't even turn on at all then they tell me he's past the date for a replacement phone I thought these phones were to help people but they're not it's just another joke. So since he didn't replace his phone sooner and kept it for all these years he can't get a replacement phone that's stupid do you want people to call and replace it what every year.

I switch from access wireless to SafeLink wireless. I was already receiving the unlimited ebb program with access with no problems. Done the switch to SafeLink and now I'm on day 7 with no service and all it says it I can not apply for the ebb at this time. So I go to a separate website and fill out for e b and I'm approved. Tried to call SafeLink and tell them I was approved and still nothing. I would've never signed up to switch if I knew I was going to be without service. I am a single mother with three children and my phone is very important. I am very upset.

On 11/2/21 I signed up and qualified for Emergency Broadband Service service being denied to a qualified recipient based upon discrimination. I need someone to contact me from safelink headquarters immediately to discuss this before it turns into a legal matter. This needs to be resolved immediately by someone in the corporate office there is a language barrier from customer service due to them not understanding the English Language.

I recently purchased a cell phone from Safelink Wireless. It is a Motorola Edge 2021 5G. When I tried to activate the phone nothing would work. All they told me when I called was I had the wrong phone, wrong sim card and I must of purchased it from some other place and the hung up on me. I now have to ay off a $700, 00 phone that doesn't work, and no funds to get a phone that works!

I started having problems a month ago and I set here with no service. First I had no hotspot then I had no data. Then they sent a new phone (it's cracked.) I have been told by safelinc employees that I didn't pay for my phone because I like many qualified for help paying my bill that my taxes pay. I have been hung up on when they couldn't answer my question.i have been lied to with promises they can't keep ("I will fix the problem".) I received a new phone t fix the problem that wasn't broken with a broken screen phone that now they won't fix. I got rid of the phone that wasn't the problem. However it stopped working. Besides being a R.N. I have a part-time job as a computer analysis. I could teach your customer service how to work a cell phone. I know how to factory reset a phone.
Your company sends refurbished phones, how do I know that. Factory reset does clear most of the information however it does not take off facebook friends and there pictures. We were not told to reapply in a year. But she was told that she could not get another one because the warranty only last for 1yr.
If the phone was only a 1yr. and 3 months it should have never stopped working. However its a used phone. our country takes pride because we take care of seniors, but do we? If I get no results from you I will take this to P.A.

My safelink phone no longer worked so I was advised I needed to buy another phone. But it must be from the company they deal with. That company is net 10. I bought the phone but was not told the sim card was locked to their company for service! So I am stuck with the lousy service and a locked sim card! First, they are defrauding low-income people by selling their phones at TWICE the cost of buying them elsewhere, but no matter what THEY say, they WILL NOT activate a phone that you did not buy from them. "Bring your own phone" my *SS! Then I get told I did not buy it from them, when I most certainly did, and that it will not work in my area. They also told me it is NOT an AT&T phone, when I was sitting LOOKING at my order details! Now I have to wait for another freaking SIM kit after I was told elsewhere that customer service is wrong. So, now I wait again. So, I figure I'll configure the phone, only to find it is DANGEROUSLY slow. It does NOT bring up the key code without GREAT difficulty, and it is just so shockingly slow, I've had flip phones that were faster!

The company is scandalous! Lousy customer service. They talk like robots and still cannot perform simple tasks! Leading to true aspiration!
