thelesa bryant-damage to vehicle by employee pushing line of carts
Dear Sir/Ms,
Last month in January, my vehicle was hit by a Safeway employee who was pushing a line of carts which crashed into the passenger rear side of my brand new vehicle (BMW). At the time of the incident, my adult son was sitting in my vehicle and was present during the accident. As he got out of the car, the employee immediately returned to the store before he could confront her.
I have notified the General Manager of the Safeway located in Oxon Hill, Maryland and he filed an incident report accordingly. The GM's name is Stewart. Mr. Stewart informed me that someone would be contacting me. In early January, I was contacted by an individual named Sydney Comeau. However, I returned her call multiple times including emails. Yet, Ms. Comeau has not responded. The damage to the side of my vehicle requires repair and still has not been addressed by Safeway. I have been patient for several weeks. This delay in response is unreasonable. The General Manager has also attempted several times to contact Ms. Comeau and has experienced great difficulty.
Please note this issue remains outstanding since the first week of January when the accident occurred; five weeks ago. At this juncture, I plan to pursue an attorney for the blatant negligence of Safeway and failure to address a serious matter caused by one of their employees. After being a Safeway employee for over 25 years, I am greatly disappointed in the poor customer service, poor communication, and failure of follow up by Sydney Comeau. Please escalate immediately to Ms. Comeau's manager or someone in Senior/Execuative Management pertaining to management of liabilities. I can be reached at [protected] or [protected].
Thank you,
Thelesa Bryant, RN
rude and unprofessional customer service
The checker Michael Trueblood is very rude and unprofessional! He shook up my bottle of wine 3 times because he was in a bad mood! All I did was make a comment asking him not to be putting in his Valentine's day order to his coworker and his attitude was so disrespectful. After he shook my bottlw of wine, he said "do you like that?" Really!? I made him return it. I spoke to the manager who said he would say something to him.
this customer says derogatory remarks to us everytime we see her
This is the closest supermarket for my family and I and after today I think I will change market. This is because of a customer who also shops there. Her name is Tracey Barbie and without provoking her she called us fat and ghetto. A fellow customer told me she streams her day by day life on Live video thru an app called periscope. After looking it up I was blown away at the way she speaks and conducts herself. PLS STAY CLEAR OF THIS PERSON.
She called us ghetto people. My wife was so upset. I was just shocked. We see her and we walk down another aisle.
return policy
We go to Safeway to shop regularly during the two months when we stay at Frisco, Colorado.
We purchased a plastic sled for our grandson who came to visit us but he did not use the sled at all. When I bought it the cashier removed the sticker from the sled. After four days I went to the customer service and asked the clerk how I can return it. She told me that since I don't have the receipt I can only get store credit. With this in mind, next day (1/28/2018)I returned to the customer service with the sled. The clerk I had talked to was not there and the one there informed me that according to the company policy that they don't take the sled back even if it was not used. I asked to talk to the manager. After a few minutes the same person came back and asked if I have a receipt or the sled sticker. I told her that the sticker was removed by the cashier when I paid for it . Then she told repeated that it is company policy that they don't take the sled back.
1. I'm very much disappointed in how they treated me. The manager did not even take the effort to talk to me.
2. If Safeway has this policy some of the employees were not trained and therefore do not know about it.
3. Furthermore this policy should have been posted where the sleds are for sale so the customers can see it when they decide to purchase it.
4. How can they asked for the sticker that the cashier removed at the time of purchase
For the above reasons I feel that the sled should have been taken back ($20.99+ tax)
Thank you,
Andrew Kalman
customer service (bagger)
My family and I often shop at the Safeway in Sprigerville, AZ. We enjoy the store and most employees are helpful. There is a bagger named Bradley that we think should be retrained. He is often distracted by chatting with the cashier, putting items in bags haphazardly (many bottles broke last week because he put them all together). Bradley is often rude to us and might be considered smart mouthed at times. It has gotten to the point where we ask him to not bag our groceries, we will take care of it ourselves. Our family appreciates the hard work carried out by Sprigerville's Safeway employees but we agree that this particular employee should be put through another course of training. Thank you.
truck driver
Hi, Your truck driver driving Truck number 356F driving onto Deerfoot Trail south SE from Anderson Road SE in Calgary, Alberta, Canada was driving like a complete lunatic swerving in and out of traffic lanes and honking its horn like crazy during -20 winter / snow conditions. The driver was trail gating us right behind my vehicle and I have 2 small children in my car. I could not go any faster due to the 3 cars in front of me driving really slow due to the snow and ice. This driver could have easily killed someone! This is unacceptable!
service and overall experience at alamo ca, safeway
I have been a Safeway shopper for about 20 years I live about 5 miles away for the Alamo, CA Safeway and it's been my only store I shop at until the experiences in the last year. I recently started shopping elsewhere; the service is poor and the overall shopping experience is dreadful compared to the past store performance.
Today was the final straw - I had ordered a deli platter online yesterday at 3 pm and it wouldn't let me chose a date for the next day however outside of the 24 hours. I wrote a note in the comment section that I needed it today (Friday the 26th at 5Pm). they have great products and I purchase items frequently for work and personal events. I called at noon the day I was to pick up just to verify and was told it won't be ready until Sat (one day later). I don't need it Sat I need it tonight for a party. I was told too bad, I should have come in the store or called. I did both but when I got there last night everyone in the deli had gone home and when I called of course no one was there. I work long days and use the online service if possible.
The stocking in really poor, the staffing is so slim the lines are horribly long and there is no staff to bag, check on an item or clean anything up. Management is kicking the staff out early, eliminating positions and they are so short staffed I have to call the manager (on my phone) while I am in the store to try to find something. I am told continually by the staff we have no one to help "look at the line".
I work full time and have a family and time is important - I need a store that is stocked, that has staffing and is there to help customers. I have been told they are so short staffed they can't do much of anything. I think that is really unfortunate for the employees and the customers. Feel free to look up my Safeway #[protected] and look into my visits and spending history.
Really too bad and very disappointing. that was one of the nicest Safeway's in the areas. I am now going to Lundardi's, Costco and Trader joes.
Hopefully management will get it and staff the store and put some management in place to help customers.
san luis sourdough bread
Hi I was in Safeway tonight. Going to get some sourdough bread. And a lady was standing there looking at the san luis bread she turned around to me and said oh my why is this so expensive here. I said well this is the bread that always buy at $4.99. She said I live in Seattle and I get san luis bread up there for $1.99. I could not believe it I said I might move ther lol.she said food is cheaper there. Could you tell me why bread made local here is more expensive than sending it to Seattle it ends up cheaper.
trying to get help for a product
I went into safeway on 138th and Meridian, Puyallup, WA to find sloppy joe mix. I asked 3 different employees where I could find this product. The first one said she was new on the job and couldn't help me. The second employee said she was busy and would get me some help and to wait where I was. After 10 minutes of waiting I finally left. The 3rd employee said this wasn't her department and just walked away. I couldn't believe nobody could help me. I tried searching on my own but couldn't find. Frustrated, I left the store and went to Fred Meyer, where they promptly showed me where the Mix was. From now on I will drive the extra mile and skip Safeway.
unethical behavior
This is the 2nd time this happened. Last month before new year I went to shop with my mom, 2-3 guys was following us around. Every corner I go to, a guy pretending to work around there. I'm not stupid. You know someone is watching you and being followed when you get weird feelings. My mom even saw them talking and pointed at after she used the restroom. They're staring us down like hawks. What are we going to do in the frozen seafood isle? They won't stop following us until we go to the cashier. Last night before 5PM I was with my brother and mom. We stopped by there after going into a Gamestop. It right next door. We go in, a few min later a security guard can be seen by us everywhere we turn. My mom said it's some guy who called him over. We came here to shop, but instead we got profiled and stalked once again. Like really what did we do wrong? I'm shocked that this need to happens a second time for us to realized we're not in America anymore? There's no freedom here? We can't go buy food without feeling like we're being watch and did something wrong? This is uncalled for. I don't feel safe anywhere I go out anymore. I'm worried my mom would get tackled, we would get called out and embarrassed in front of the whole store. Even though we did nothing wrong, but for them to keeping an eyes out for us, I feel paranoid. Anyway, when that security guard came by us, my brother confronted him and he said he's just watching for everybody in the store. Yea sure. He had his phone out pretending to text while looking at us all the time. I mean this is way too far. Can't we be treated as customer and not criminals? We're in emotional crazy right now. This should not even be happening to anyone. Safeway does not make me feel safe at all. It gives me bad anxiety.

Re: Armin Quedzuwit (pharmacist)
I work for Ramah Care Services, inc in Gallup NM. We have approx 30 individuals who receive their medications through Safeway pharmacy. I have been in contact with the pharmacy almost every day. We had agreed that I would drop cycle fill (30 day fill for all individuals) on the 15th of January, which I did. My understanding is that our medications would be filled approx 1 weeks time for all individuals as the previous pharmacist would do. However we have been recieving "attitude" from the pharmacy including techs (Fabian & Clarinda) by letting them know we needs meds filled on a certain date.
While there at the pharmacy today, we exchanged words about dates meds needed. I tried to avoid an argument, however Armin proceeded to continue as I went down to the pick up window. I specifically told him I didn't want to talk to him anymore. While at the pick up window, Armin then began to explain his understanding. I told him to stop and just let me sign for meds I needed to pick up. He then said "you know what? thats exactly why you get attitude from us"...that made me more angry and I stopped listening. He raised his voice and I told him not to raise his voice at me. He then proceeded to scan meds. I mumbled some words...and he said "what?" I said "nothing"...he said "no tell me what you said"...I said that "I missed the old pharmacist" and he said "well good to know"...
He then told me "his expectation for next time is that we call in our medications when we need them"...I said "ok well my expectation is that you'd have our medications filled by now"...Nothing further was said.
We have had multiple issues with this pharmacist since he has started. I would like some type of corrective action taken so that I am no longer spoken to like this again, or treated this way.

"Pork shoulder butt roast" ?
Really?
Bad enough our society is growing more crude and vulgar by the year. I was hoping at least the corporations would not follow suite. Safeway that has been around my whole life and I have been a loyal patron of to foster this type of advertising is a disappointment. I think I will take my business elsewhere until the choices in advertising return back to the level of that fosters "family values".
I am a Meat Manager and that term has been in place for decades. It is actually a term used by the USDA so if there are any complaints it should go to them.
background music in safeway stores
I am tired of the background music in Safeway stores. It is much too loud and prevents me from concentrating on my shopping! Please turn it down or, better yet, get rid of it. You are shooting yourself in the foot by playing such loud and distracting music. Nobody needs to hear that while they are trying to buy food. At the most, you should limit yourself to soft instrumentals.
A Weary Customer
If you're distracted from your shopping by music playing, you probably shouldn't go out in public by yourself.
mistreating in handling of my groceries
I have been having an issue with one employee named Tim for a few months now, he is very agresive with my groceries. He literally drops my produce into the bag and usually bruises it, and also with other items he just throws them over and slams them down. I have asked him 3 times to please be gentle with my things (today included) and today after asking him that he looked down and grinned and then said " oh i really didn't do that on purpose' with sarcasm in his voice. I have complained to another employee about this who told management, at this point it seems that he does it to me on purpose, because of how many times I have asked him to please not be so rough. I spend over 2000.00 dollars at your store monthly with my corporate account, and at this point iam thinking of just driving to klamath for my groceries because iam tired of this matter, There is no need for it and I have not ever had a Grocer handle my groeries this way.

store management
The Safeway located at 15916 S Crain Hwy Brandywine, MD 20613 has changed drastically over the last year. There was a change in management and now the store is horrible. The weekly sales are seldom up to date, the shelves are not stocked, the produce section is always empty. There are constantly expired items in the refrigerated and fresh sections. The clearance section is not tagged or marked correctly. The quality of the employees has also gone down hill.
Even the building is changing, the front door was broken for 2 weeks. The store needs a change in management. The store is not going to survive and I afraid it will go out of business.
I am complaining about one of the self-service lady at safeway
About one of the self-service lady at Safeway.
I've been shopping at Safeway in Lincoln California for many years I've never experienced this one lady being so rude. Each time I came into that store she's been unruly and unfriendly. I made a complain to Customer service about her and nothing was done I'm writing to you now please fix the problem I witnessed her be rude with that other customers and frankly makes me sick to my stomach just seeing her sheet other customers like that. She needs to be disciplined in my opinion
That lady Linda that works at Safeway in Lincoln is very rude
customer service
I was a customer in the Novato, Hamilton store. I was shopping in the bakery, and had witnessed, I believed the manager of the store, yelling at another employee. I felt embarrassed for the employee, and I feel that you needed to know that this is happening in your store. As a customer, it made me feel uncomfortable to witness such a situation. Thank you.
management at aloha safeway
The manager at the store is openly very rude and disrespectful of employees in front of customers and seems to have unrealistic expectations for a few select workers while letting others get away with doing nothing. One cashier is very fast and has a lot of downtime. I have seen her bust butt, cleaning when she isn't busy, but I overheard the manager call her lazy when she paused to rest for two minutes... while another was literally sitting down on the job for a good fifteen minutes and wasn't spoken to at all. Very unfair practices and bad leadership. The hard workers should be praised, not made to feel unappreciated
very disrespected behavior
On January 15th went into Safeway on 56th st in Tacoma, WA to purchase laundry detergent. As I stood in line waiting to check I heard over the intercom for security to the deli entrance. The lines were very long so the manager came over to help out and opened up another line. As i paid for my stuff i was profiled and was made to feel like i was the one who was under the scope of the security call. one of your employees came out stared me down got on the phone called someone and gave my license plate number and car description to someone over the phone I felt very violated and threaten by this behavior. Not only did the employee do this he not once asked me anything as he was doing this i rolled down my window and asked why was he taking my license and he continued to walk back into the store not explaining it is a violation of my right that one of your employees not only single me out but also took my description and license plate number down and gave it to someone over the phone without my permission when i was a paying customer and had nothing to do with the security threat. I live blocks away from this store and frequent it all the time but after this i will not return. After getting home and explaining what happened to my family they called and spoke to a manager of some type and was advised to file a complaint because she was the one who checked me out and knew that it violated my rights. I really would like this corp. to have better training for there employees do not know what else to have happen but will not return to the Safeway brand.
safeway electronic gift card
I bought a gift card for my son who lives in HI. He received it by email. I understood it could be used either by printing a paper copy or it could be scanned right from his phone at checkstand. All went well the first time he used it. Customer service dept. activated the card and told him checker would scan it at checkout. No problem all went smoothly. The next time he attempted to make a purchase he was told he had to have a printed copy. He told manager how it was scanned off his phone previously, but she refused. I don't understand the double standard. Is this something that is done at the individual stores discression? He does not have access to a printer, which is why I checked to make sure it could be scanned or manually punched. I'm not sure what if anything can be done, however I definitly would not have purchased the card if I had known it would be a problem to use it. The store is at 46065 Kamehameha hwy. in Kaneoha, HI. 96744. Thank you in advance.

Hi Ms. Bryant.
Appreciated reading your concerns. I'd like to help.
Do you have any actual proof that this damaged occurred at or by a Safeway employee? Was there a police report filed at the time?
