We were in the findlay, oh restaurant today for lunch and I was very disappointed. The waitress spilled an entire coke on my 1 year old. All I got was an I'm sorry! He was soaked from head to toe. The food was gross and cold and the bathrooms were disgusting! We will not be returning. I never even got the girls name I was so furious! We told the man as we were paying what had happened and he didn't say a word. I shouldn't have to pay for something that was cold and not worth eating. The Findlay restaurant has always been my favorite but in the last couple years it has went downhill. The store is dirty and it smells. I was ready to walk out but the only reason I stayed is because I had two hungry little girls. Absolutely disgusted with how today turned out at Steak n Shake!

On Thursday, September 6, 2018 we were traveling back from vacation and stopped at the Steak 'n Shake in/around Mobile Alabama. There were 5 adults and 2 children in our party. We ordered our food and our drinks were delivered to our table. We then waited and waited for our food to be delivered. We noticed many people come to the restaurant after us were seated and served their food, but ours were not delivered. The waitress was ignoring us at this point and when we asked her to come to our table, she told us they could not find our ticket, so we asked how long it would be, she said they were cooking it. Again we asked her how they could be cooking it if they could not find our ticket. She then said they were not cooking it they were still looking for our ticket. We told her we couldn't wait any longer we had to get back on the road. There was not an apology from her nor the manager who at this point knew what was going on. I was very upset at this point since we had two children who were very hungry and tired and there was no effort to come to us earlier and retake the order or get us something while waiting. The whole ordeal lasted at least an hour and we did not receive any food.

I was in the drive thru at the Crawfordsville, Indiana location. The woman at the speaker took forever to ask us what we wanted on our sandwiches and what not. She also got one of the sandwiches wrong. I had ordered the number 15 on the $4 meal menu. I had asked for lettuce, tomato, mayonnaise, onion, pickle, and ketchup. The woman repeated everything and said mustard was on my sandwich. I did not order mustard. I am allergic. So I told her no mustard and she couldn't figure out which sandwich i was talking about. I had ordered a total of three sandwiches and two were plain with only cheese. The only one with everything on it she couldn't figure out that that sandwich was the one I was talking about. We got to the window. I paid and got my food and double checked everything. My sandwich (the one with pretty much everything on it) was missing half of the things I had ordered. It only had lettuce, a splash of mayonnaise and ketchup, and cheese and bacon. Nothing else. I also recieved a Coke instead of a Diet Coke like I had asked for. I was in a hurry to return to my job and take this food to my coworkers so I dealt with my messed up food. It took way too long and the mistakes made were just plain annoying. I repeated myself a dozen times and it was still wrong.

Your company is losing so much money and potential customers from the drive thru messing up orders. If you doubt me look at yelp and google reviews. Here is my experience from tonight 9/6/18, keep in mind I've worked in fast food and it takes a lot to piss me off. Normally I'm understanding of messing things up because crap happens, but the service tonight made me snap. Girl working at the drive thru window needs to learn how to apologize for messing up people's orders. Shorted me my fry and cheese sauce and when I went back through drive thru to tell her she was snappy. After waiting 10 minutes she gave me my fry and still forgot cheese sauce. Reminded her, even gave her extra change for it, and she threw it at me! Wow! Thanks for a half filled hot fries and cold burger. Just because a line is around building does not constitute screwing people's orders up and treating them like garbage for it. Like she treated me like I was lying, which is my second bad experience here. I live right down the road but I won't be returning to this particular store for a while. I can't handle the crazy attitudes. McDonald's is across the street and fast and accurate damn near every time. What a shame for this restaurant! McDonald's burgers are weak compared to steak n shakes.

I went here at noon on friday. Paid $15 for food, and I was irate. You know why I was irate? Ordered 2 meals, had two fries, and they were thrown all over into the bottom of the bag. Best part was when I put them in the cups they are supposed to be in there was enough for the first cup and the other cup was empty. So we had to split the fries. That is insane to me considering they always give you an awesome amount dining in. Never have been so shorted before anywhere. Next time I want steak and shake I'll drive out of my way to go else where. Lazy, chicken strips were crunchy but barely warm. Thanks a lot :, (
I have worked at McDonald's and I know getting slammed busy and how to handle it. I always apologized for my mistakes and other employees mishaps and never shorted people food if I missed it the first time, if I did I would give them a plentiful, full fry if the fry was forgotten or a fresh burger. Would never throw a cup of cheese sauce at anyone. Its not that hard to be a good manager and hire good employees and teach them how to make people happy and do their job right. This particular restaurant needs lessons on how to not run an establishment into the dirt. It's also easy to show empathy for a screwed up order, it's over the top ridiculous that every experience at this location has been [censored]ty. One mess up every so often is one thing but when it happens over and over it's no longer admissible. So Steak ‘n Shake, your fired!

I order the $4 chicken strip/FF, bowl of chill and Strawberry milk shake for my son who was sick. I paid 11.60 with my $1 off coupon. Instead of what I order I got a double steak burger, and a cup of chill. I call headquarters on 08/27/18 INC #1376051 and was told I would get a call back with 72 hours, on 09/04/18 I called again and spoke to rep Jessica ID#8226 she told me a manager would call me back and here it is 09/10/18 and I still have not heard from anyone. I paid for food I did not receive and upset about the lack of follow up from your company. I want a refund and an apologize

Went through the drive thru this morning.. my order was missing the sausage on my sausage biscuit so I had to take it inside to get it fixed after already waiting in the drive thru for about twenty minutes for like three cars to go through. Then I get home and all my food is smashed and broken. Great service 👍🏻 Also since I'm complaining already about six months ago I dined in at this same location and ordered a BLT welp I ordered a side of extra mayo.. thank goodness because when I pulled the sandwich apart to put the mayo on there was a dead fly smashed into the bread.

They have Happy Hour half price discount for milk shakes during weekdays between 2-5p. However, the Steak &Shake App does not allow the half price discount. I have contacted the Belleville, IL managers for past three months to complain about it, since I have purchased over $100 thru the App, but no discount given at all, which is such a rip off.
The managers keeps telling me that they have not heard back from the corporate office & it's been three months. They said they can not adjust the discount if it is ordered via the App.
The corporation need to fix the App so customers can get the half price discount. I have quit going to this Steak & Shake from m now onwards.

I ordered a m&m shake. While eating it I found a large amounts of peanuts within my shake. I then called to notify the Rockford e state street location about this Incase someone with a peanut allergy would encounter this and they were extremely rude towards me. She never stated her name. Answering the phone saying "steak n shake" nothing else. And when I notified her the risk they were taking she just said "ok". If I were to share my shake with a friend with a peanut allergy they could have died. I'm very upset with the customer service I received from this location and their negligence.
People with peanut allergies know to ask about these things before entering or ordering from various restaurants. It is usually a given if a fast food restaurant makes foods containing peanuts, then there is a very high likelihood that there will be peanut residue in anything prepared there. In fact, they state this on their website.

We went into stake n shake in osage beach around 12:30 were seated and had our order taken, but as we waiting for our food (that never came) we started to see people who came in after us already had their food, once we reached the 50 minute mark we decided to leave because that was ridiculous that people who came in after us were already done eating and we didn't even have our food! Our server Janie, didn't even care. Another server said sorry but was no help. When we asked to talk to the manager who was standing there cooking burgers he didn't even acknowledge us as we were standing waiting to talk to him, you'd think he would want to be made aware of the problem but he didn't even look at us even though another server told him we wanted to talk to him as he was standing there. It was so rude and disrespectful I've never experienced that at stake n shake so I think the servers need help and the older gentleman "manager" should care about his job and have better costumer service. I wish I had his name to give but he wouldn't even turn around to look at us so sadly I do not but he should be fired for how we were treated he probably treats everybody the same way which is not okay. I would hope you'd agree.

Went to the one on 40 hwy. In indep had to have waitress clean table then never seen her again. Another waitress finally after 30 min took our order and 30 min later still hadnt received our drinks so we left and so did the man next to us who never even seen a waitress! On the way out the door, a waitress said "we put your order in" and I stated "we never even got a drink.

We were at steak and shake store number 707 last Saturday. We have a family of 8, and frequent this store often. The past few times, we've waited a long time for food and the restaurant has been dirty. But last Saturday, the restaurant was beyond filthy. There was a milkshake spilled on the floor from a previous customer, my son had to sit with his feet in it. We waited forever for food. Tables were covered with food, ect. It was such a disappointing dinner. The table next to us was never cleared off the whole time we were there, and we had to look at other peoples remaining food. Gross. We spoke to the manager, his name was Vladimir. He began yelling st us. Very unprofessional. He was so rude. The returns never was tended to the whole time we were there. He never even apologized to us about our complaints. After this awful experience., we may not return there and take our business elsewhere, where we can eat in a clean restaurant and be treated nicely by management. Our family outing was a huge disappointment, and will be remembered, but not for good reasons. That being said, our waitress Ashley was so kind gentle sweet and caring, she just was overwhelmed. She did an awesome job that night
number one on my list today is an over medium fried egg
I ordered two fried eggs over medium with sausage gravy and biscuits and hash brown and a soda. I asked for ketchup with my order also. I ordered at the drive through. When I got home one mile away, I opened the bag to find my 2 eggs over well and one egg was so disgusting to even look at. It was merely a hard cooked egg yolk only. I wouldn't really complain about food but this got my goat as the gravy was dark brown which shows it's been sitting around for a long time. Usually when I get the sausage gravy it's an off white color. I have to also let you know that it was he best biscuit that I have had from there in a while. Hooray for the biscuit maker. Also I gues they changed the home ash browns from several little ones to one big one. The little ones tasted better in my onion. That's just an opinion though. Attached is the over medium egg I received. Also there was no receipt given with my order. Bad business practice in my eyes.
This egg should have been discarded and recooked as a whole fried egg. Where’s the customer service from that cook?

We brought in 35 people for dinner. We waited over An hour to place our order. We knew we would have to wait a little bit, however, we still never got our drinks. It was all water. Okay. I'm just going to come out and say it. Every single steak ‘n shake takes forever to get food. Everyone knows it. It's all over twitter. I'm sure you lose a ton of bus. Over it... I have sat in a sns for over 45 mins waiting on food. Don't even get me started on the drivethru. I could go through chick fil a 25 times by the time my chili comes out at sns, I haven't been to a sns that is fast, ever. Good food but my god what seriously takes so long.

I was previously employed at the n.glenstone location in Springfield MO for a total of approximately 3 weeks. I was going through a loss of a family member, as well as a mental breakdown. I was harrassed, belittled, humiliated, and discriminated against during this time. My manager had myself as well as other managers writing down my hours worked. None of which I have been paid for. I think that you explore the option of adding a Steak and Shake in Clarksdale, Mississippi. There aren't many restaurants or good sit down places that aren't expensive. There was one place similar to your's that did very well, but they were gone for half of the year so they had to leave. When they were in business they did very well from what I knew. I think that the location would do well because if it was put in the right place it would do very well because the teens in the town don't really have a good place to eat besides the Mexican restaurants and that even gets old after a while. I know this isn't a complaint, but I really love your food and so would my classmates.

We visited Steak N' Shake in Hamilton Ohio's West Side at about 7:20 p.m. on a Saturday evening. We've had poor service during a few previous visits but enjoy the food and keep thinking it just has to get better. Well this was the second time in about two months that we've visited and arrived just before the dining room was being closed by the staff. Mind you this was 7:30 p.m. on a Saturday evening. The service is terrible. Staff attitudes are terrible. There is absolutely no customer service that would lead customers to be happy to return. This is the final straw for me and we will not visit again. I truly suggest to Steak N' Shake that you take this franchise away or just tear it down so we could have the chance for another eating establishment where the staff actually cared about their jobs. I know HR is the largest problem a company can have and this is one of the worst I have experienced.

I went to two locations in my area, the first one had a cook and a server. I pulled into the parking lot and a patron was standing by his car smoking. He told that only the two were on and about 20 ppl walked in. On the meantime, the employee put a note on both doors saying to come back in an hour or they will be waiting a long time.
I drove down the road and while here, several of us had driven down here. There were 2 servers in and what appeared to be 2 cooks. When the 7th table walked in (with 2 servers to handle them) one of the servers walked out the inside set of doors and locked the main doors.
First of all, why are they only staffing 1-2 servers and/or cooks during dinner on a Sunday?
Secondly, what kind of servers are they hiring that each can't handle 4-8 tables that stagger in? I was a server for years and me and one other server could have handled staggered tables walking in easily. If I had any managers phone number I would call them.

Hello, I am writing you to make a complaint about the horrendous service I received at a Steak and Shake in Coralville, IA. I went to this location with four of my friends. We walked in and waiting for 10 minutes for someone to seat us, there were plenty of workers who could have but they kept walking and not even making eye contact. There were also plenty of tables open. Finally we had to seat ourselves. Once we did a surver came up amd rudely said to us " you guys are not going to be helped for a long time you might as well leave". We were starving and had drove pretty far to get to this location so we were not leaving. We did not get drinks or menus for 45 minutes, and we watched tables who came in behind us get drinks, shakes, and food. Finally we got someone to take our order, but she had a terrible attitude. This is rediculous customer service. I have never had worse service. I love Steak and Shake and was hurt by the way we were treated.

Poor shift management, filthy restaurant, extremely slow slow service are the typical occurrences that alway happen at the 8477 US Highway 64 location. We arrive in the drive through at 22:40pm. We ordered and got to the window by 23:10pm at that time is when the DT input the order into the register (presumably to show better customer DT times in the record). It took an additional 20 minutes to get the order. The drive through worker was chewing gum and her nails must've been three inches long. While sitting there I noticed the actual DT window is broken and remained open. The window was speckled with filth, the counters and work stations were filthy and had (food, fries) scattered all over, the floors were slimy dirty filthy! There were more than sufficient workers meandering all around. We only had a two shake/item order. While we waited for our shakes the orders for the cars behind us were lined up on the drive through window counter getting cold and stale! This store is being run in the worst most unprofessional filthy manner I've ever seen. I as a retired career manager/chef/restaurant worker I must tell you just the health violations and poor management being in this restaurant would generally be enough to have this operation shut down/closed. I wish you luck in the attempt at correcting this fiasco !

I was given a warm drink with no ice and the service was the worst I've ever seen. I've been going to Steak ‘n Shake for years and have never had a bad experience up to today. I don't know if I will continue to be a customer if the service can't be improved. This is a huge disappointment to me and the rest of the customers that enjoy eating at Steak ‘n Shake.
