To whom this may concern. This product is dated 10/21/2018, and was still sitting on the shelves as of 1/10/2019. We purchased this item on 1/10/2019 and after becoming very sick the next day, we needed to throw the rest away. Vendors need to be held accountable at this location. This purchase was a waste of money and an endangerment to me and my guest's health.

I am getting to not trust my local vons on avocado. I keep finding mouldy food such as the holiday cheese and sausage packages, beef jerky that was mouldy and today I opened my ready egg go and the cheese was dried out. The date on it dec 27, 18 I have had too many things go bad from here this store needs to go thru their stock and check the dates and quality more regularly. I just hope I don't get sick from the food that I have been buying. I really hope you can resolve the issue of out dated foods before someone gets very sick. I was there for New Year's Eve buying last minute things like anyone else. I see that the checker, Jackie, is checking by herself since they let the last checker go home at 9pm. On a major holiday for shopping? What kind of torture is that for one person to handle? Jackie apologized many times for trying to go as fast and accurate as she could to get the customers through. She was always smiling through her pain. You can see she can barely move her neck possibly because of repetitive actions and always doing the night shift by herself. I don't get it? You can't have another checker to help during these busy times like the other stores do. This is ridiculous, the store manager Michael Frotton is really awful to her. No one deserves such treatment. I can say that Jackie does keep her head held high through dealing with the pain as present on her face. She is definitely an asset to the store. I have written about Jackie on one of those surveys and she never got any recognition from it. Why? When you have such a dedicated employee that makes her customers laugh and feel welcome in the store that we want to come back just to see her and feel good when we exit the store.
You really need some better management going on at this store as I see people with cartloads of groceries just walking out not paying for them because they know there isn't enough staff to help prevent it. This store is getting ghetto when it once was a nice place. It all comes down to management and it shows. What a pity that you don't care about your employees. Their actions help the management get their bonuses while they get nothing.
Could you please at least recognize the hard workers at your store? Jackie does a great job with what little help she has.
tofu kit
Today is dec 31. I purchased a tofu starter kit last night week. Opened it today it expired NOV 10, 2018! This is not the first time this happens to me. Or the second or the third or fourth. I continually find expired product of the shelves! I am so tired of going back looking for my receipt going back to the store. What is so hard about making sure your product is in code? This is near 2 months expired! I'm so over vons i want to take this to the media. I know I'm not the only one.
bad for business targeted by employees
This evening December 30, 2018 I went to the Vons off Mission BLVD. In Camarillo. I have shopped there several times since having to relocate because of the firers in Agoura. I am 17 year RN in the community and a small business owner in Ventura county. I am educated and all around normal individual. Which is why I was shocked, when several employees not directly but to each other considered me a shop lifter. Granted I was on the phone for the majority of my shopping trip, dealing with sensitive matters related to my house and insurance claims I wasn't 100% focused on what I was doing in the store and was wandering up and down isle with no set plan of action. I at no time was approached by any employee, or manager who claimed to have a issue with what I was doing there.
I had gone out the front entrance to get more firewood, never leaving the area, turned around and headed back in. At no point did I attempt to flea without paying for my groceries. headed down the beer isle and was looking for a particular scotch which you were out of and that is when I could hear the Wine Steward "Brad" comment to the girls at the star bucks that They should be aware and not everyone looks like the typical thief...(not in those exact words) I would have never thought he was implying me. if there was an issue the best way to handle the issue is to confront the person and find a solution or notify them that there is some question about their actions. Not make the customer feel uncomfortable, targeted and follow them around the store waiting for something concrete... I knew I wasn't doing anything that would insinuate I was stealing so I carried on. But as my Husband keep reminding me of things we needed I was just getting more and more uncomfortable with the employees around me. I went out the front doors looking one last time at the sad display of succulents in hope I could find one more gift and call it a night. in doing so 4 employees excited maybe 3 minutes after me, and the two of the girls kept asking did she leave, did she leave...a man from the produce department kept running into the street and a manger was standing to the left texting on his phone. I remembered seeing the same manger on the other side where I got the fire wood doing the same thing on his phone. If the girls were refereeing to me... I was still there on the phone looking at plants. It was more than apparent that there was an issue with me, but instead of approaching me like a professional . I felt so targeted and uncomfortable i just wanted to leave. I pleaded with my husband to please come to Vons so I wasn't there alone, I didn't really understand what was going on but felt very vulnerable and not sure how to protect myself from the unknown. I checked my pockets to see if I put anything in them on accident and both were clear. I parked my cart over by the flower section, and waited for my husband. I noticed my phone died so I grabbed my purse told an Employee (red head, the only one who wasn't acting weird to me) that I needed to get my charger I left all my personal shopping bags in the cart and planed on coming right back in. It took some time for my phone to reboot, I stood outside my car waiting for my husband, when I finally got a hold of him he suggested i just come home. I reluctantly got in my car, leaving all my bags and a full cart and went home. I am an honest individual, well known and liked by the community. I guess I was confused by your employees actions and felt compelled to write down my statement of facts as I understood them to protect myself. My suggestion to your manager is if there is a issue with a customer, address it head on. Not like school children playing telephone or whispering behind ones back. I am so disgusted with tonight's events I doubt ill ever return to that Vons again and I have been shopping at Vons since I was a baby. I felt it was important to notify corporate because some action needs to be taken to better train your staff. It is not okay how the situation was handled and I would like my bags back, but do not feel comfortable enough to go back alone to get them. If some other arrangement can be made Id appreciate it. Thank you for your time and consideration in this matter. I hope by communicating my statement of events it can help further better training for the future so this doesn't happen again.

My wife whom has been an asset to vons at whittwood town center location in whittier.. Put it this way, have you ever seen people go to a market and stand in a line no matter how long it is and refuse to stand in another line just because the cashier is the only reason they shop there? Yes, my wife! I'm very proud of her love for her guests that shop at vons.
Since she found out her mother was dying 3 days before christmas eve she called and said she was going to be late and she was and still showed up to work acting like everything was fine. She fallen into this relapsed depression and had to call off work christmas eve after hiding her loss from her guests at work but all along her management and supervisors pretended to feel for her pain... But listen, she shows up and puts her game face on on christmas day and hides her sorrow again. Today the 28th of december she was pulled into the office and suspended the exact same day today she comes to find out her mother died earlier this morning. Because of this extenuating circumstance I know for fact management page petes, rebecca, and ryan and have been plotting this due to this treatment toward her. They have already threatened. I'm not one for threats but this should straighten up their act. If not i'll write another disappointing review. Im not happy for their inconsiderable view and how they handled my wife's dilemma.

I went to the Vons off El Camino in Carlsbad in attempt to get some white cooking wine for my mother to make a chicken dinner. I was skeptical of being allowed to buy the wine because I am not 21, so I looked it up and it says cooking wine is legal to purchase at any age due to the minimal amount of alcohol content. I looked in the oil isle and could not find the cooking wine, so I asked a cashier who was chatting with someone that looked like the manager in a blue polo. I asked where the cooking wine is and she stated, "next to the vinegar" so I proceeded to ask where is the vinegar.. It was the most unhelpful experience ever. As I started to walk away, they said you still have to be 21 to buy it and all laughed at me. I tried to go to a different cashier after I found the bottle and it started to bypass the age verification, but then the manager came over and said I can not do it. It was insanely unprofessional even if it is your policy to not allow people under the age of 21 to buy cooking wine. I have been going to that Vons along with all my family for 19 years and have never experienced such rude customer service. I plan on never going back to this Vons and making sure my family of 7 never spends another dime there.

I previously sent an email to customer service regarding my previous order that was an hour later than the delivery window and never received a response. I was also told by that delivery driver that customer service would contact me because he made them aware that my laundry detergent had broken and spilled everywhere. I still never received a response. This was for order # 2840298. So, my order was an hour late, I didn't get the laundry detergent, all of the eggs with the exception of 2 were broken and dripping everywhere, plus 2 additional items were ruined because the laundry detergent managed to spill over them when the driver gave me everything. I would really appreciate a response and refund on the items that were not actually delivered to me. Also, what is the protocol when a delivery is an hour later than the guaranteed window?

I was exiting the parking lot of Vons at 262 N. El Camino Real, Encinitas, California on Saturday night, December 15, 2018, at approximately 6:40 PM. I was stopped at the street to wait for traffic. A driver with a license plate's starting as 29354 Who is driving behind me on Tustin and Katella in orange California. Whoever is driving this truck needs to slow down. They were speeding well above the speed limit on Tustin and Katella today Dec 12, 2018. 9:39 am. Maybe they don't care about their life but I care about the life of my kids in my car. I came to the return counter at vons Temecula and waited for atleast 30 minutes before I just left.. one of the employees said the lady was "busy upstairs" and couldn't come to the counter to help the customers... ridiculous customers should be prioritized over whatever the hell she was doing upstairs. Have been going here for years and lately (with new Pharmacist) it has gotten really bad. Instead of an hour for your prescription it's 4 or more hours for it to get FILLED. One clerk for drop offs, One Pharmacist and One clerk for Pickups. Ridiculous! Can they not hire NEW employees for help? Please look into this situation. Very frustrating. Thank You

store manager and vons delivery driver
On Nov 8th (Thur) I came to the Vons store at 410 manhattan beach bl, Manhattan Beach Ca around 1630 or so. I was trying to deliver 3 cases of wine and asked the store mgr robert conick(Not sure the spelling)who was working the checkout line at the time who could sign for my delivery. He told me Receiving was closed and only Receiving Dept can accept it as it needed to be checked in and scanned. Said they open [protected] Friday. I came back Friday around 0930 and went to the back eastside of the store parked just outside the Receiving area went up to the door saw a sign that read closed between [protected]. As I was doing a route in that area I needed to see if someone in the warehouse could sign for it because I had other deliveries stops to make. I drove my van toward the front eastside of the store and parked along side of the building trying not to block the sidewalk where customers enter but in the Truck Delivery Driveway. My wife was sitting in the passenger seat. I got out and went inside and saw the same mgr from the day before working the checkout line. Didn't say anything to him but proceeded to the back to see if anybody could help. While waiting about 3 minutes in the back area, one nice employee offered to find the Warehouse person to help me out. A few minutes later he said she was at lunch and another employee would assist me. I waited a few minutes and another employee showed up and told me to meet him at the side door by the warehouse where I had parked earlier. While I was inside waiting to get assistance my wife was frantically calling/texting me to move my van as the semitruck von driver showed up and my vehicle was blocking the loading driveway. He basically yelled at her that she needed to move the van Now and because I didn't hear my phone to come out earlier he got mad and went inside to get the manager who also came outside to continue the verbal assault on my wife. She was a passenger and had nothing to do with the delivery. She doesn't drive so she was helpless until I showed up. She told me the two male were yelling not asking her to move. When I came out to move to the back the manager let me know I was blocking the semitruck from backing in and the driver just looked at me and shook his head. My wife told me what had happened and I could see she was visibly upset. Said she wanted to complain about what happened so she went inside the store and asked the mgr what his name was. He told her Robert Conick. That must have agitated him more because he felt he was in the right so he went outside back to my van and took pictures of my van and my wife and came to the inside of the warehouse and grabbed the invoice and took pictures and asked me who I work for. I'm a independent contractor helping out that day as the regular driver wasn't available so I didn't know the procedure for delivering to this store. Even so, the mgr and driver need to be counseled on how to control their anger even if the situation isn't there fault they could have handled it much better. The driver made it worse by not being patient and getting the mgr involved
That made a inconvience situation turn into something else. This is my only written complaint against this store mgr and driver. I will be waiting to hear what their side of the story is as I'm sure they will paint themselves as the victim against a little asian lady.

I frequent this particular vons since it is right up the street from my house and normally love it. I've actually had multiple encounters with this woman where she is rude, but I decided to let it go because I understand that everyone has off days. However with this visit, I realized that it just seems to be how she is and that isn't ok. This particular altercation was due to the fact that my fiancé's vons card wasn't swiping at the pad. My fiancé proceeds to hand the cashier her card so she can scan it. The cashier then tells her to swipe it again and my fiancé tells her it doesn't work at the pad so they normally just scan it for her. So the cashier proceeds to give a little huff and to tell her that there is a new policy saying that if it doesn't scan at the pad that it's been deactivated (which we never activated it in the first place) so she needs to give us a new card. My fiancé didn't want a new card, and when she asked the cashier to scan her card she already has and return it, the cashier responded with "i'm just doing what i'm told, " scanned the card, and still threw it away anyways. My fiancé asked for her card back, but instead was just handed a new one and the cashier responded with "well my manager is right there if you would like to talk to him." If this is a new policy, that's fine. It's not what she told us but the lack of customer service skills behind it. As I have said before I've had multiple encounters with this person myself which I let go but her job is to make us feel welcome and make us want to come back to this establishment. Not to essentially scold a grown woman. It's not ok to speak to someone in a condescending, dismissive tone when you work in customer service. I'm very unhappy with the service of this particular cashier. She made something so small turn into something big by giving out unnecessary attitude and she offered no apologies for it.

I purchased signature meat for the fact that it has less fat
however, this product is very difficult to cook with when
preparing a meal, The meat is very stringy, not like other
ground meat which is easy to cook with, so when I started to use this product I realized that it was not breaking up or getting like other ground meat, it was more like STRING, and is not making for a nice meal. No one wants to feel like they are eating string, and it does look like string. I had to stop what I was doing and put this pruduct into the grinder
to fix the problem
I highly suggest that you find another way to process this
product, and make it so that one does not feel as if they are processing string, hey no one wants to eat string.
