Discovery program
came to the Vegas resort back on 10/31/2021 we were picked up from our hotel and taken to a resort to listen to a seminar we did not stay in the room for the seminar instead we were taken to a table were we were asked how much do we travel and other questions about our job's family how much we spend on vacations etc. We filled out some information on an IPAD asking our names annual income etc. Due to us stating that we were not interested in buying anything at this time we were told that was fine and there was no need to listen to the seminar that they will be straight up with us. My fiancé explained that he was going be straight up with them as well it is a pandemic money is funny and she already has trips planned at this time. I was asked about where I was going next and I explained Hawaii and then they explained that we could use it there. I declined about timeshare told them he was not going with me and I am not going to be responsible for all the others who are supposed to go on my trip. I already have one timeshare from Mexico that I got with a friend and did not need another. I was asked to speak to several different people and we explained to all of them that we were not interested at this time. It was my fiancé's birthday and I explained that we were told that it would not take such a long time and that we have plans to be somewhere shortly and I need to get back to the hotel. One of the guys replied stating that if we bought timeshare that they would send us to the hotel in a limo, we declined again and said that we have to go. They explained that we needed to get our prepaid gift cards and that it would not take that long that there is a shuttle running every so often. I went downstairs to get the gifts promised for coming to the resort and we ended up taking an uber to get to our reservation that we had planned. The only thing I am aware of signing was to receive the prepaid gift cards which I believe it was 3 $50 cards each. I was told that we weren't obligated to sign up and there was nothing else that we had to do further. Shortly after going back upstairs, I was asked again why would you not want to join if you take so many trips and I explained that I do not want to be obligated when I decide to go somewhere I just pay for it. They told us okay then have a good day; we left went waited outside for the Uber to arrive. I received statement in the mail and notification about an account being on my credit have been calling ever since with no help.
Desired outcome: remove from my credit report
Time share
In 2017 while vacationing in Gatlinburg, TN we were approached by a Street vendor to take a presentation at the Wyndham Jimmy Buffett, It 5 O'Clock Somewhere Hotel in Pigeon Forge, TN. We went to the presentation and through a lot of high pressure bout a Discovery package for just under $4, 000.00. In September 6-13, 2019 we used it at the Ocean Walk Resort at Daytona Beach, FL. The Room was an Oceanside one bedroom deluxe. It was nice. We were encouraged very strongly by management to attend a 90 minute presentation on Saturday September 7, 2019. The Salesman was Joel Roman. He spent the next 6 hours showing us the resort and what we could have if we traded our discovery package in on a Club Wyndham membership. We kept saying no and Joel would then get a manager to come talk to us to further pressure us into purchasing points for the timeshare. I advised Joel that we had a paid off timeshare in Gatlinburg, TN that we were happy with and did not need another Time share. Through the process of 6 hrs we simply wore out and wanted the session to end. We signed the Contract after Joel and management offered to give us extra points because we owned another timeshare with Westgate. They also were rolling the left over Discovery Points in order to keep them from expiring. We questioned the 15+% interest rate and Joel told us numerous times he would work with us and get us financing for 2-4%. We questioned him thoroughly about this financing. He stated that once we signed the contract he would help us get the financing. The Monday morning September 9, 2019 I called Joel and explained that we had thought about it and that we wanted out of the contract. He spoke about all of the benefits we would be giving up and not to worry about the financing that he would have the finance company call us. I repeated this request to Joel on the 10th and 11th to cancel the timeshare contract. It did not happen!
The first week in in October 2019 we booked a stay at the Wyndham Emerald Grand in Destin, FL. What a Disappointment! We had a view of the parking lot when we had asked for an ocean view. We were told by Wyndham there is no guarantee that your request will be fulfilled. Again we went to a Presentation. did the resort tour and then spent 3 hours saying no to the high pressure sales tactics and listening to the sales people demean the program we had purchased. We actually left the Resort a day early because of our disappointment.
September 4-11, 2020 we had booked an oceanside room at the Ocean Walk Resort in Daytona beach. When we checked in we were told that the Hotel was at a 103% capacity and that we would not be given an oceanside room. instead we were given a single bedroom studio facing the hallway. It was dark and less than one would expect from a Motel 6. We complained and were told they would put us on a list to change to an oceanside room if it became available. To their credit we were moved to an oceanside room on Tuesday September 8, 2020. We were again told that we were to go to a presentation. We advised that we did not want to attend a sales presentation and were told that it would not be a sales presentation but a Wyndham update of benefits. When we arrived at the meeting we were greeted by several sales persons. We stated that we were told this would not be a sales presentation. The man salesman stated, "whoever told you that lied to you. Of course this is a sales presentation." We sat through several sales people as they told us that what we have is low kind of membership and that the one bedroom studio apartment is what we could expect from now on. Again we said no to their numerous offers for purchasing an up grade. We were also told that our points were going to expire so we needed to transfer them to RCI, which we did.
Flash Forward to March 1-6, 2021 We used points to go to Wyndham Bonnet Creek Resort in Lake Buena Vista, FL. We were upgraded by Wyndham to a two bedroom Suite. It was nice. We enjoyed our stay. We were told that we needed to go to a presentation and was promised in writing that it would be no longer than 90 minutes. The presentation was an attempt to get us to spend $20, 000 to go from the point system to a Deed system being told that if we would become owners of Wyndham properties instead of "users" of Wyndham properties we could stop paying maintenance fees forever. We were told that as Wyndham timeshare owners we really have a right to use but are not owners and that Wyndham now wants to return ownership of their resorts to the Timeshare owners by issuing each owner a deed. We refused having said no at least 4 or 5 times. The salesman kept saying the choice was a no brainer and that we have been given the choice to get out of paying maintenance fees so if we did not choose the new plan we were foolish.
The initial down payment was put on a Barclay's Wyndham rewards card at 19.99% interest and the mortgage and maintenance fees were automatically going on the card. So not only is Wyndham charging 15+% interest we are being charged an additional 19.99% interest on the same mortgage and maintenance fees through Barclay's.
This is unacceptable, crooked and unethical behavior on Wyndham's part.
Desired outcome: We want out of the Contract that we asked to be canceled the first three days after signing the contract and a refund of all money spent as well as the downpayment and interest charged
Bonnet creek - the way we were treated
We are guests of a timeshare owner.
Room under rebecca McFadden Wyndham Bonnet Creek room 128 march 19-23 2021.
My 11 year old boys (almost 12) were allowed to swim Friday March 19th alone. Saturday the 20th when they went to swim and were told they needed an adult, one boy willing went to get me while the other Waited, the other boy was then told he needed to leave the area (alone).
The boys now returned with a adult. Where they were sliding down the waterslide by tower 2/3.
SURGAY the lifeguard was asked by one of my boys if he could go down head 1st. The life did not answer him but just shook his head no. My other boy did not know it was not allowed and went down the slide 1 time head 1st. Surgay told him that wasn't allowed and my son Apologized and said he would not do it again. The boys continued to slide down the slide correctly for several more times. Sugary then closed the slide... and began fixing chairs and upon reopening the slide told my boys they were banned due to sliding wrong multiple times.
Surgay never directed any corrective action to the adult supervising them. Which was mandatory to have there.
The adult (John) called security and it was told when the slide reopened the boys could use it but it would be 3-4 hours due to short staff.
I arrived at the pool to find out what happened and was angry as we feel the incident was escalated by Surgay lying about my boys behavior, possibly even racial driven.
Within 30 mins (not 3-4 hours) Surgay reopened the slide and denied my boys access. I began to use a firm loud voice with him from approximately 15 feet of distance. A manager named Shannon came up to me quickly and accused me of yelling at Surgay from across the pool... she had a large snappy attitude she did not listen to me or my side of story.. she said she was standing watching what was going to happen. She called in more security as though we were criminals.
We became banned from that pool and humiliated in front of other guests. Security watching us..
We were told a towel hut Mgr witnessed everything when in reality there was only a 1 time bad behavior which was apologized for.
John witnessed Surgay talking to the towel hut girl where we feel a lie about my boys was created.
I reached out to guest service Mgr Alicia and upon a call back from her we were still banned from the pool my children wanted to use, decades Surgay was working there all day.
I was humiliated, banned for no good reason, lied to and lied about and followed around by security.
I am so upset I could scream... what an awful stay.
This incident will be reported to BBB and Florida attorney General. And possibly my own attorney.
This was a pebble thrown and we were treated as though we tore down a building.
Shannon denied me access to record her nasty snappy interactions with my family.
Additionally the day before when at that pool the lifeguard was fully dressed with shoes and coat on and talking to another employee the whole time. I tried to show her pics of the lifeguard trying g to prove that possibly the lifeguard need more training and that it wasn't us lying and she told me to delete my photo. It was not deleted but that was separate incident from what I'm reporting.
Desired outcome: Another stay

To Whom it May Concern:
I am writing you today regarding our Wyndham Discovery Contact #000651805665. We purchased membership in the Discovery Program on April 16, 2018 for 300, 000 points to try the ownership experience of Club Wyndam, at that time our sales representative Mike Smith explained that we would be able to use our points over two years. In April 2019 we did have a wonderful vacation at Club Wyndam at the Cottages, at that time we planned to take the same trip for April school vacation in 2020 and did have the trip booked and had been preparing to go when the COVID-19 pandemic arrived causing is to postpone and reschedule our trip which at that time would've been past the end date of our contract.
At that time given the situation of the pandemic we had been granted an extension and re-booked the trip to the end of September to the beginning of October, at that time we believed that things would change, and we would be able to take the trip. Unfortunately, in August, Governor Charlie Baker here in Massachusetts introduced travel restrictions to several states including South Carolina, and many other that host resorts in the Discovery Program preventing us from being able to travel. In September we once again were forced to request another extension which would be the current date of March 16, 2021, we again booked the trip for the week between Christmas and New Year's, instead of restrictions easing, Massachusetts increased them basically allowing only travel to Hawaii. We decided then to book for February school vacation hoping by then we would be able to travel. As of last week, Massachusetts has travel restrictions in place for all states except for Hawaii and North Dakota. Between these restrictions and my wife now working as a paraprofessional and the school department stong urging their staff to not travel at this time kids are now returning to school; we had no real choice but to cancel this trip.
It was at this time that I reached out to the Discovery Program Customer Service Department to request an additional extension or other options that would allow us to be able to use our 149, 000 points that we had paid for, what we had been meet with was a tone-deaf apology that there is nothing that they can be done as this was the final word of the legal department and that extensions had been granted. I have tried to reason on several occasions with several customer service representatives and managers to no avail looking for something to be done to make that this right and all I have been meet with is unwillingness to work to resolve the issue as we are still amid a pandemic at this time.
I would feel different if the CDC currently not due to "COVID-19 cases have been reported throughout the United States and all travel deemed unnecessary is strongly discouraged." In Massachusetts the State and Board of Education issued the following statement: "Massachusetts Students, School Staff Encouraged To Avoid Travel During February Vacation." With these recommendations we feel that the best thing to do for our health and safety is comply with these requests and not travel.
What we have been asking for is Club Wyndham for is to work with us to be able to use what we paid for and take a trip when it is safe for interstate travel again. The treatment we have received from Club Wyndham has been anything but customer friendly or something that would want us to consider becoming members as if this is how we have been treated as perspective members why would we consider becoming owners. My parents have owned time shares for over 30 years with RCI and Club Wyndham, we went into this to want to explore having something of our own to manage and travel. Again, unfortunately the pandemic impacted us in my wife losing our career in the travel industry after 20 years, while she has a new career in K-12 education her new role pays significantly less than her old job causing us to not be able to purchase our own at this time. We can definitely understand that the travel industry has been severely impacted in the last 12 months.
In closing what we are asking is to be able to use our remaining 149, 000 points to take a trip somewhere, sometime in the future when restrictions have been lifted and the CDC, Government, and other health experts suggest it is safe to travel, that's all. All we want to do is go on vacation and again we have tried repeatedly to take a trip, we have exhibited good faith on our side and all we are asking is the same good faith effort from you at Club Wyndham. We look forward to your response and hope that we can resolve this without bringing other parties into this matter to resolve this matter.
Regards,
Edward J Lafleur

Hotel stay personal injury
I am currently staying at the Wyndham garden hotel, during my staff I have been bitten by bedbugs. I have encountered bugs in my room at service different times. Staff can to view the reported bedbug and destroyed evidence of the bug. I have taken serial pictures of these bugs found at the hotel March 4th, the reservation can be found under the name Alexus Moralez staff in room 412, Wyndham Garden Madison, Fitchburg, Wis. My name is Jeffrey House, I was a guest in the room that observed and reported staffing this troubling ordeal. Furthermore there was no supervisor at anytime upon the grounds to resolve the matter, there was no proper sanitation unit on grounds. The staff person destroyed the bug with his hands as to get rid of evidence of my injury I have provided pic of the bites and bug found in my bed, this should not have occurred. Furthermore the hotel lacked available grievance forms a guest could submit to management. Disturbing experience
Desired outcome: compensation for pain suffering injury
Overall service, support and choices
It is very hard to make a booking and 90% of the available options wont be available even a year in advance.
Even due to Covid situations and inability to travel, they were not accommodating the request to extend the date of expiry of travel credits.
Also, there is no one available for support after the office hours even if it is an emergency. Club Wyndham by no means supports anything related to Discovery saying that they are a different department.
It is a complete rip off of money! Not trustworthy at all!
Mislead and lied to during follow up sessions
Three weeks ago, we attended one of the owners follow up sessions. It was only going to last 1 hour. 3 hours later we had written a statement explaining how we were mislead the previous year by a snake oil salesman's, who no longer worker there. The Manager asked why all our 4000, 000 points were in CWA or something along those lines. That we should have the in a deeded portion as well as the CWA. So the manager "Went to bat for us" with corporate and by only spending another $30, 000 and 154, 000 points (Which we cant use this year, but still get to pay maintenance fees on), we would be at a great place. Diversified where we had access to both sides inventory (80%0 as compared to only 20% before our dumb mistake). This would allow us to reserve up to 13 months ahead of time. So today, I call and ask why I couldn't reserve a room in Nashville for next august and was told that I can only use the half of the points that are in that category. So, a completely different story than our salesman told us.
So bottom line, we bought more points because it would help up reserve more rooms only to find out that we know have more points than 4 weeks ago but have less options for reservations. I would like to give up everything we have already paid, give back our deed, be done with them, and never stay at a Wyndham opened property again.
Sunbeam and hiring management
My name is Andrew Roberts and I applied for the houseperson position a weak ago, did the assessment test, had a sup ask me questions visa by text then schedule a date for an interview for the 19th of this mouth of September. Then on September 3th I receive the email about the position was giving to someone else with was outrageous. This is Unacceptable. With all that's going on the world you people decide to pull this stunt. I guess black lives don't matter after all.
Hotel stay
This hotel is not how it looks in pictures and is very dirty, They have undesirable people running in and out of rooms. They refuse refunds. It isn't a place for children as the undesirables scare them with their screaming. When you arrive there are police dealing with drug dealers and hookers screaming in the halls. If you need rest this isn't the place for you. They advertise 100% smoke free but the room smells so bad of cigarette smoke, there are burn marks in the carpets and bathtub. This place makes me not want to book a hotel ever again. Priceline also gives you a great price but when you get your bill it's in US dollars.
We had to leave that hooker and drug nest and go to another hotel.
There were crumbs in the bed from the previous hookers.
The management is rude and would rather keep your money even if you don't stay there because you have severe asthma.
I stayed at this hotel in July 2020. It sure isn't what it used to be. I always try to stay at Travelodge but never again. It is dirty and people running around doing drugs and drinking. If you have children its not a good safe place to bring them. The beds are uncomfortable and stained sheets. Too noisy no sleep. NO refunds either. Stay away from Chilliwack Travelodge you will be glad you did.
This is the Chilliwack Travelodge
Vacation cancelled
I am beyond words disappointed and so incredibly frustrated with the way Wyndham handled rearranging vacations to accommodate less guests during this pandemic but two weeks before we were supposed to leave, we received an email that our vacation was cancelled. Every time we sit through one of those owners meetings its always just about buying more points to...

This company will have you feel amazing when you leave. You will be sooooo excited about the vacations you are going to go on. But when you go to actually try to plan your vacations. You go through hell to get in anywhere. It is usually just a settled location or different times then you need or not enough days. The points will be lost if you do not use them so you waste them on what you do not want but they have available or you are paying out of pocket for your vacation and can not use your timeshare. So if you have a wedding to go to, you will be paying out of pocket because you can not use your ownership. If you have a family reunion, out of pocket, because nothing is available to owners. If you have a quick trip with friends, out of pocket. You get my drift. So the fact they act like: you save money, you can get it anywhere when you want to, and that the salespeople will be there for you to complain when you do not get what they told you you would; do not be surprised it is not real. Their dream they fed you will never be a reality.
We have owned since 2010 and we have upgraded for a better experience, nonsense, but we have a pretty good idea of how they work now and it's not for your benefit at all.
Ownership , YOU OWN NOTHING BUT WORTHLESS PAPER
Joe Ann W2/21/2020 01:17:26 pm
I have 8 years experience which included 1 purchase and 4 upgrades in order to get us the vacations we need.
In the end it is a bunch of hocus pocus.
As I moved up the the different status, not much of a change in benefits were noticed. Yes I can book earlier. But that does not help the majority of Americans because people usually say hey, Lets go visit our family next month. Or here is a wedding in 3 months lets do to that. The majority of vacations can not be booked almost 2 years in advance in order to get in to one of their resorts. OTHERWISE it is wasted money for sure. You pay them monthly for both the timeshare and the maintenance of the timeshares which goes up with every upgrade and every fake move up the later, And also increases each year. Needless to say you have to then turn around and pay for your own vacations out of pocket because you could not use their resort because they are booked solid. This makes it a serious waste of cash. A serious let down of service and a serious stress on my health. I tried to make it work by following their demands for upgrading to my detriment.
Now they refuse to do anything! They hide behind a contract that does not spell out the hardships, the caveats, the impossibility and the reason they do it is to get you to upgrade. HELLO sooner or later people catch on but it's too late. You are stuck in perpetuity.
Your letter has reaffirmed my decision to not buy into this timeshare. I could not reconcile all the constant moving parts.
Sounds like time-sharing isn't for you...
worthless timeshare scam
No vacations to show for wyndham!
11/11/2017 over 2 years with not 1 vacation, but many calls to try to get us to upgrade because we have not vacationed. Whey would be pay more if we can not even use what they sold us.
My complaint is the methodical approach that this company chooses to trap bystanders into worthless contracts. They hold you up for hours!
Consistently hammering you with multiple salespeople and ignoring any no that comes out of your mouth! With each no they have some new and fantastic steal of a deal (in hindsight the theft is in your money as they do not have intentions of letting you use the points as they say you will be able to). Then you are stuck with these useless points. The boost this "dream" vacations up with what a smart investment this is!
I left on a high with visions of my australian vacation I was buying along with many others. But four months later, I got a phone call from a salesman from wyndham who told me, when he could not solicit me into an upgrade, that I was "stupid," and the points I bought would not get me anywhere. As rude as he was, he was the only truthful voice from this outfit.
They were useless, and wyndham's own employee admitted what a fraud this company is. I am sickened by this whole transaction.
I sent in a complaint through their website and they completely ignored it!
They know they are a scam and ignore you once you buy unless they can squeeze more money out of you.

I want everyone to think really good before they get suckered into being an owner with Wyndham. I Purchased in 2012. I tried to go on vacation to Bonnet Creek, Palm Aire, Sea Gardens, and Cypress Palms. To put this into prospective I have only been successful at gaining access to my rights as an owner only half the times I tried. So I have only made it to...

This Timeshare resort company is an empty pit. You will feel cheated when you walk away from the dream world they painted up for you to reality. The things they talked about to get you to buy are not really within your grasp and they know this and still sale it to you knowing you will be stuck paying for a useless ownership.
They told us we could travel out of the country with this membership. That was the kicker for us, that was the reason we signed up. Come to find out, the points are different and so, what they sold me, was not enough to convert and get me to Greece, Argentina and Germany; we tried! NOT at all what our salesmen described our membership to be. Now if he was honest then we would have known off the bat this would not work for us and we would not have signed our life away. But he manipulated the truth and from what is all over the internet, this company knows it, it is COMMON PRACTICE: to lie to get them to buy. How is it in the United States this can continue to happen unchecked? Because money means more than decency, ethics, morals, and protecting individual rights.
We have tried also to go on other vacations. IN 2 YEARS WE HAVE TRIED 11 TIMES TO GO ON VACATION WITH ONLY 1 SUCCESS STORY TO Destin. You tell me now how this is a fair contract. When I am paying to vacation and the company I pay to vacation is always booked solid which is not allowing me to vacation. I called the helpline and they offered to sell part of my subsidized points. What good would that do? I still would not be able to use the leftover points so I am still paying for a worthless membership. This is ridiculous. This company knew I was a student and worked full time so they knew I would be on the school schedule and they knew It would be impossible to rent during this time and still sold me on the fact I could.
wyndham sales takes advantage of old people...
These two crooks sold my mother a $37,000 package that she told them that she could not afford. They promised her that they would rent her points for her so she didn't have a bill. Re: Contract numbers, [protected], [protected], and [protected]
On June 1, 2018, my husband and I with four friends arrived at National Harbor resort intent on attending the Capital Jazz fest in Columbia, Maryland and having a college reunion, as my friends had come from different states. After leaving the front desk, we were told we had to have an owners update.
On Sunday, my husband and I arrived at 10:00 am for what was promised as a 45 minute update. After the film concerning new locations and new VIP guidelines, Valencia Richardson came to update my account. Walking into that meeting, I told Ms. Richardson that I was already a platinum owner. I was paying approximately $1, 500 per month for mortgage and maintenance with four years left on that contract. I had a interest rate of 13.99% on that loan but I was handling the expense. My last purchase was in 2013 when I joined Club Access. At that purchase I was told that I should never have to purchase again because my contracts were grandfathered into the platinum level with my PIC. On June 3, 2018, Ms. Richardson told me that my Club Access contract was going to experience a significant increase because many resorts under that program were affected my hurricanes and other issues. She stated that I must come out of Club Access and all of my previous purchases, buy 300, 000 points, thus having a million points at National Harbor, and by doing so it would make me a permanent platinum member and reduce my maintenance fees. I told her my husband and I couldn't afford another purchase. I told Ms. Richardson that I had to leave because additional friends were coming to my unit and that we were having a luncheon. My husband and I left around 12:00 pm.
To my great surprise, about a half an hour later, Ms. Richardson appeared at my door. We invited her in and she had lunch with us. After lunch she told my friends that she had unfinished business with my husband and I and pulled us away from our friends! To some of our friends we never said goodbye. The sales pressure was that high!
By now, my husband was tired of this high pressured sales pitch. This time we were joined by Mr. David Lee, the Sales Manager. I told him that I couldn't afford the new purchase. He told that Ms. Richardson could help with that problem and left to see if he could get a lower interest rate on the new purchase. Using her best "home girl" charm, she told me that could be my personal representative and that she would show me how to place my timeshare on the rental market and payoff this debt in five years. I didn't purchase timeshare to rent but the idea of getting it paid off in five years was attractive. By this time, around 7:00 pm, my husband was furious! He told me not to purchase anything and left the meeting. Ms. Richardson pressed on.
Mr Lee returned to state that he couldn't bring the interest rate down but Ms Richardson could help me if I decided to purchase. I told him about Ms Richardson ‘s idea to rent the timeshare to pay off the mortgage, and his reply was she can help you in that way. Once again I stated that I couldn't afford the package. Valencia Richardson then came back to promise me "we" can do this.
At 8:30 pm, exhausted, hungry, and defeated in will, I signed the contract. My husband came back to me to see why I was still there and we had a verbal altercation. Ms Richardson and Mr. Lee were both aware of his feelings.
The impact of that purchase is that my timeshare payments do not allow for health essentials. Needed medicines not covered in full by insurance are not purchased. I pay approximately $2, 680 per month for mortgage and maintenance. This mortgage is greater than my home mortgage. I was paying these fees with Wyndham rewards credit card to off set some maintenance fee. I was previously paying Barclays $1, 500 per month. Barclays Bank was charging 17.99% interest on balances and with the $1, 100 increase I quickly began to acquire a high balance. Now I was paying Wyndham and Barclays unsustainable amounts of money. My husband refused to help me because I went against his directive.
I live on a small pension and social security. I cannot keep these contracts up. I wrote to Wyndham Cares, a program that is suppose investigate and help with such problems. Their reply after many months was no. Sadly, I must exit this timeshare to improve my mental and physical health.
