Bad Customer Service
On 4/26/21, I went to see "Demon Slayer" at AMC Georgetown 14 location in Washington D.C. First issue, the projector would not show any picture on the screen. After spending more than half an hour, a staff member only offered us tickets in return instead of a refund. Seeing that I was not getting the proper service, I then search for the nearest AMC, which was the AMC Hoffman Center 22 in Alexandre, VA. When I arrived, I tried to use the tickets that were previously given to me to see the same movie, but I was told that the "Demon Slayer" movie was a special event and I could not use those tickets, so I had to pay to see the same movie. This is by far the most terrible experience I ever had going to the theaters and I really doubt that I will visit any AMC theaters in the future.
AMC theater Safety
My first time back to the theater in 14 months. AMC has had over a year to figure out how to make it safe, but has fail miserably. I'm more upset with the lies told about mask mandates, social distancing enforcement and cleanliness. None true. Very few in the lobby area and ZERO inside the theater wore masks. Every Hand soap dispenser was empty. The theater was dirty and the staff were clueless. Many of them were not wearing masks. It's upsetting that AMC put corporate $$$$$ above customer safety. I took video of the experience and plan on sharing to warn others to stay away.
Desired outcome: Make it SAFE. Or shut it down.

I purchased a ticket on fandango.com on Friday, April 23rd for 9 tickets to see Mortal Kombat. The ticket is attached to this form for review. The fandango ticket clearly states that for a rated R movie under 17 requires accompanying parent OR legal guardian. There's no where on my ticket that states the legal guardian's specific age and that they has to be 21 and over to stay with minors. First of all when I arrived Alishia scanned our ticket. She did NOT state to me the 21 years old rule when she scanned the ticket. I went over to the concession desk to ask what theatre number is the movie playing in and that's when the young guy behind the counter mentioned the 21 and over. I stated that one of the kids was 18 and according to my fandango ticket he is legally an adult guardian. I had a work emergency and stepped out of the theatre to deal with it. I was approached by a young man asking to go back in the theatre although they had an legal adult (18) with them he insisted that someone over 21 had to sit in the theatre with the group. I asked to speak with the General Manager, Glenn. He offered to give me a refund stating that if I had a work emergency I can leave with the entire group (who again had a legal adult 18 years old sitting with them) or I can go back in the theatre. I then brought my fandango ticket back out to Glenn and asked him to show me where on my ticket does it state the specific wording that a 21 and over must accompany minor. He pointed to the wording on the ticket which does NOT state that specific language. When I asked for the General Manager he first stated that he is the manager. I then asked for his supervisor contact information he stated that they will just contact him and he doesn't have specific contact information for corporate and directed me to go on the AMC website. I did not appreciate the fact that his OWN staff Alisha after scanning our ticket said absolutely NOTHING about the 21 and over rule. It wasn't until I asked which theatre number and it became a huge issue. I also DIDNOT appreciate Mr. Glenn not clearly explaining why my ticket did not state the rule he repeatedly attempted to enforce.
Desired outcome: I would like better communication on any and all purchased tickets
The tin buckets
Why sale the tin buckets if you cant refill them and ya'll charge $9, 00 for a small popcorn that's ridiculous I was told by an amc employee
the tin buckets weren't the annual bucket so they couldn't refill them anymore
Desired outcome: Be able to refill the tin buckets
Concessions
Took family (5 of us) to movie. Bought 2 buckets of popcorn and 5 drinks. Out of the 6 self serving drink machines only 2 worked and only one of those had Diet Coke and the other products my family wanted. But that drink machine had too much CO2 and all the drinks were gassy and tasted bad. So spent almost $150 and had bad experience. If your going to charge $6 or more for drinks maybe you should have more than one machine that serves all Coke products and that works properly. Not a good experience for our family of 5.
Desired outcome: Full refund
Service
My husband, son, and brother in law visited this theater and was informed they were sold out for the 9pm showing for the new Godzilla vs. King Kong; but could sell them the next showtime. After consideration, they turned around and went back inside to buy these offered seats to only be told in the short time frame they outside they were sold out even tho...

Hey AMC, I took my family to go see the new Godzilla movie as my wife loves Godzilla and my son loves Kong. As soon as the movie started 4 women (more like teenagers) in front of us we're all on their phones and talking up a storm. I politely asked them if they could stop and they continually threatened to beat us up snd shoot us. They kept saying "you...

Today my wife and I attempted to go see a show at your theater in Billings, Montana. We were refused entry until we put on a mask. I informed your manager that I have had both shots of the vaccine plus 2 weeks my wife was the same. I attempted to show your manager the vaccine card. He did not bother to look at it. I asked how someone who was vaccinated could get or spread the virus. he did not answer. He said it was your policy to have masks on. I informed him that state law and policy had ended mandatory mask requirements. As long as AMC act with stupidity you will not receive our patronage. If someone is fully immunized, and show a card from a medical facility no mask show be required! Instead of spending monry at your theaters we went for a nice dinner. Thank You
Desired outcome: Update your policy
Security issue
Website said Theater opened at 9 am. Went to box office and no one there. Sign posted to purchase tickets inside. I opened the door and went in and quickly realized no one was there. I proceeded to kiosk to get tickets and it kept saying error. I walked around the lobby area and thought maybe someone in the back near concessions. No one there!!! I had...

Not allowing a person with a medical diagnosis of rhett syndrome, look it up if you don't know the affects of it, into your theatre because of her diagnosis which enables her to not wear a mask is utterly wrong, discrimination especially since everyone escorting this person wore a mask and she was a non verbal young preteen in a wheel chair with immobility to certain limbs! Also, calling the police, the police to escort her out because of your policy! Hearing of such an instance, I will be refusing to give any business as well as sharing with others to not support such a business until your rules are changed and employees trained to know that people have medical exemption, and some people can't wear a mask. Also, reading some other comments as to how your employees treat a paying customers is disgusting. Just another reason to not give our business to such a company.
Desired outcome: Changed rules and trained employees
Customer service/ threats/ harassment
I took my son and nephew to see a movie on 12/19 and the guy behind the counter told me I had to remove my American flag as it was racist. I spoke to the manager and she took the time to explain that my mask Didn't have ear hooks. I did as she asked. As we were leaving the rep was standing at the exit and said "you are welcome" as I passed. He then said yea and leave as I was walking away. I then turned and went back to explain that he should be thankful for paying, working Americans with real jobs and he then said my nephew was sexy. I told him he was a minor and said "well". The gentleman was black with crossed eyes. I have never been so insulted. It is the reason. The theatre is soon to be closing. I am

Theatre experience
On October 16th at 6:50 PM I went to the AMC Castleton theatre to see the movie Tenant. When my friend and I sat down in the theatre, we immediately realized there was something wrong with the speakers. The main speaker on the right side of the theatre was broken, so all the sounds were muffled, but it was also extremely loud. So loud in fact that several...

This past week, I made my first visit to the AMC Theatre in Paramus, NJ since they had been shut down for the pandemic. Most of my experience was fine (although I'm not certain that the suspension of soda and popcorn refills is a true health urgency).
The one area that left much to be desired was the Coke Freestyle machines. First of all, every other machine was closed, supposedly to promote social distancing. That would have been fine, except that many of the remaining machines were not as functional as they should have been. A typical problem was machines running out of ice (something that even seems to have happened a lot pre-pandemic). After I was finally able to get ice, I poured the soda flavors I wanted and went to my seat. After settling in during the previews, I finally put my straw in the cup and took my first sip.
Horror! The soda was both warm AND flat. I abandoned my popcorn and candy at my seat and quickly went to the rest room to pour the disgusting mixture down the sink. I returned to Freestyle Row and was now bounding from machine to machine (even crossing the lobby to the ones on the other side) to make sure I got the flavors I wanted (many machines were out of certain flavors), with ice, and that they were COLD and BUBBLY.
I understand the pandemic means we have less than we did before, but is it really any excuse to have a whole slew of ill-functioning soda machines?
Crew conduct
Around 6pm on 9/26 at the AMC Deer Valley 17 location in Phoenix, AZ...a female employee working at box office was heard "venting" her displeasure over the radio about certain guests not wanting to comply with the mask policy. Also overheard that these particular guests were seeing the film "Infidel, " and that "we all know what type of people they are."
I find this type of behavior very unprofessional in a business environment. People in the U.S. are entitled to their beliefs, views & opinions, and should not be subjected to this type of suppression.
If someone doesn't agree with someone's views, in front of patrons is not the place to do it. AMC leads need to do a better job of training crew about professionalism in the work place
Cleanliness of theatres
Email from AMC CEO about theatre cleanliness for Coronavirus is pathetic. We go to the movies often. Specifically AMC Garden State 16 mall in NJ. The cloth seats and arm rests have not been cleaned in years. Stained, disgusting. They should be steam cleaning the seats 2 times a week. There is 1 inch of dust on the speakers. Gum and stains on the carpets. Never hot water, soap, paper towels, toilet paper in the bathrooms. They wonder why ticket sales are down for the past 2 years. Start Cleaning!
Movie tickets
My son is 15 years old he took a friend to the theater on Friday March 6th 2020 at AMC Braintree cinema on Wood Road Braintree Massachusetts. He purchased two tickets online for the way back 650 Showtime. He spent over $33, when you got there they told him he was not old enough to go into the movie. They told him he had to see another movie in the only...

I do not like writing a complaint but the bizarre handling of us buying tickets this afternoon to see Call of the Wild and I could not pass buy without notifying you and let you know how your employees haven't a clue.
We walked up to the automated screen to purchase and buy tickets. Unfortunately the price for two tickets was not correct. One African American young girl was helping another couple right next to me. They were just asking about your club membership. I said excuse me but my price is incorrect. She seemed annoyed with me for asking and said try running it through again. I did and the same thing happened. I waited patiently as she spent at least 7 or 8 minutes with this other couple who by the way did not purchase any tickets. Meanwhile there is a line gathering behind me with at least 12 people giving me the stink eye because they thought I was causing the delay. She finally after about 10 minutes was able to display a seating chart for my selection. I chose 2 seats and paid for my tickets. Just then, our 2 friends showed up and went through the same difficulties as I just went through. When our friends seat selection screen came up, it was a different screen that I chose from. I asked the girl why the difference and she said they were 2 different times. I asked why and she thought I wanted a late night showing. What?
We got there at 12:50am for a 1:15 showing. We did not get to our seats until 1:22pm. That's 30 minutes to buy tickets. My business would be bankrupt if I had that kind of efficiency.
PS. I asked the kid collecting our tickets if I could see the manager. He said they were around somewhere but they were real busy today and I said "WHAT". We were the only ones here when we first arrived.
Your automated screens are very poorly designed and problematic. Your front door ticket sales people need better customer interaction skills. No apology given at all.
I will be back because we are 4 seniors that have been taking advantage of the $5 movie day.
Ticket Kiosk
Showed up to purchase a ticket for a movie. I purchase a seat and soon after, asked to pay for the ticket, which was 19.03 with tax. I pay $20, and after I press Checkout, I get a warning message displaying "Your ticket could not be processed at this time." I don't get my ticket nor my receipt. All I get is .97 worth of change back. I ask Guest Relations for help, and I get told that the seat is still available and wasn't purchased. Staff comes by soon after and decides to check cameras after I explained my situation. I wait about 30 min and I get no help. Staff comes by later on to say to me that they didn't see me pay and payment wasn't registered. So basically, I paid $20 for nothing.
