Amerigas in Mayfield, KY
my complaint is that Iv'e been with Ohio Valley Gas Company for years and never had one problem with them. Ameri gas buys Ohio Valley out and now I had a problem with them delivering gas. I was told 3 times about a delivery date and finally I get delivered @ 23% of gas. I'm in a wheel chair and on disability. i recieve a statement from them yesterday the 13th of October that my tank rental bill had doubled from $36.00 per 12 months to $69.89 for 12 months. My tank hasn't
been serviced since it was set 12 years ago, what has changed? I feel like I'm being taking advantage of. This tank isn't worth that much per year. I want back to the $36.00 per year.
Desired outcome: Delivery to be made when I'm told it will be delivered and the rediculous tank rental price to be dropped
Not removing your propane tank from my property
I had to close my account due to poor service well over a month ago. Your 500 gallon propane tank is on my property has never been picked up in spite of several emails to your district manager and phone calls to your "service" line.
As stated in my email, I am now charging AmeriGas for a rental charge for leaving your tank on my property and refusing to pick it up.
The very lack of response from your company is one of the reasons I quit your company.
Would appreciate a response and removal of your propane tank.

Residential Propane service
Amerigas, formerly Foust Fuels has serviced my now deceased fathers home in Alamance County NC for ~15 years for heat & hot water. The house has been rented for 10+ years.
In 2022 the heating system failed and was replaced by an electric system. Since this replacement and Amerigas changeover, I have been receiving charges I've never encountered previously including $99 to lock in the current price for the year, a $187.15 tank rental, $150 "disconnection fee" when there was NO disconnection, a county tax which is not included in other propane services in this county including the service I have for my personal home.
After calling 3 times to have charges removed and discuss with Amerigas I have determined to go with another company that doesn't have the exorbitant fees I am seeing in this company. I am disconnecting as quickly as possible and will be refuting the extra fees I have stated.
Desired outcome: Contact me ASAP and Removal of extra fees and taxes.Debra Heydt336 266 6677In reference to 3825 Bolden PlaceHaw River NC 27258
Propane service
I'm beyond frustrated with amerigas they closed all the offices and farmed out the call center to God knows where. I cannot get them to help me with unresolved issues as far as billing or liheap payments. I'm low income. In Michigan. Disabled and have to rely on agencies to help keep my house heated. The invoices never get paid due to not being able to get both mine and amerigas signature on the invoice which is required for payment. The call center has never heard of liheap. Can't give me any info on my bill do not speak English the supervisor tells me they don't have a fax and cannot rectify my needs. And they will never open an office again. They charge me for things I don't owe. Won't remove the charges. And just don't care. I'll be filing a complaint with the bbb and changing my service provider
Desired outcome: They open an office. They have people to call in Michigan that understand liheap. They remove charges from my bill. They get a gd fax machine they resolve issues to the satisfaction of the customers keeping them in business.
Remove unused tanks
I have 2 tenant houses on farm. Tenants contract with amerigas. Over a year ago tenant at 1 house left. House has 30 year old 500 gallon aboveground. I called amerigas & told them tank was not being used, new hvac was installed no longer propane heat. Subsequent renter did not set up account with amerigas. Amerigas sent email confirming they would pick up tank. A year later it's still here, rusting away & taking up space. They actually sent a guy out about a month ago (renter saw him) but apparently all he did was read gauge. House #2 renter left, closed account. I want tanks (2 120's) removed. 8 calls taking 9.75 hours of my time in last 3 days, 7 reps (weirdly, i got the same rep twice--we were both shocked) & i am told i can't authorize tank removal because i am not account holder--despite fact the account is closed (so how can there be an account holder?). Fed up with amerigas. There is an alternative supplier in my town. I already switched my own service about 10 years ago. Contacting lawyer to send letter to amerigas telling them to remove tanks. It will cost $$ but the stress of dealing with this company is killing me. For the record, i deeply miss my "little" gas company, office in Ranson WV. After 30+ years I knew all the people, office & drivers, & if there was a problem i always knew who to talk to. Amerigas bought them. Instant deterioration. If you live in loudoun/fauquier etc northern virginia, hunt country propane is still great.
Desired outcome: Get these tanks off my property!!
AmeriGas Billing Department
AmeriGas personnel. The new owners paid the for the remaining gas resulting
in a credit to us.
September 1. 2022 invoice shows a $1559.51 credit to our account. We were
told to expect a check in7-10 business days.
As of September 28, 2022, we have yet to receive our refund after numerous
phone calls and speaking with AmeriGas representatives. Due to the lack of
cooperation on behalf of AmeriGas, we are left with the impression that we are
just getting a run around and they have no intention of refunding what is due to
us. After 20 plus years with AmeriGas and never late on a bill, their lack of
cooperation is not acceptable
Desired outcome: A refund that is owed to us.
Removal of tank
I need Amerigas to remove their 250-gallon tank from my property. I purchased my home in July 2021. I began service with a competing propane company at that time. Amerigas has an empty, rusting, unsightly 250-gallon tank on my property.
I've called Amerigas six times, each time spoken with a different customer service representative, and six tiimes have been promised the tank will be removed. The various terms they've used are that my request with be expedited, prioritized, escalated. I will say that all six were friendly and professional, I'll grant Amerigas that. Yet there it still sits.
At first I was told they're a bit back-logged with tank removals - COVID, supply chain disruptions, etc. Then I was told they never remove tanks in the November to April timeframe (the tank is above ground).
I went with a competitor simply because of propane pricing but this poor customer service (14 months and counting awaiting tank removal) will certainly impact any decision in the future to become a customer.
The tank is an eyesore. What do I need to do, what phrase have I not used that I should, to get this tank removed? Do I really need to file a complaint with the BBB, or file a small claims action, or forward this to my attorney? Can't this be resolved amicably?
Desired outcome: Please remove your empty 250-gallon propane tank from my yard.
Inground tank
I purchased this house in April 2019. Even though the previous homeowner did not receive an annual rental bill, Amerigas started it with me. The tank was buried in 2005. Over the past two months, I have contacted Amerigas five times to buy or remove the tank. As of today, Amerigas customer service told me they will not remove a buried tank, it is my responsibility to dig it up and leave it at the side of the road for them to pick up. Amerigas will not sell me the tank, they quit selling underground tanks recently.
Amerigas customer service priced gas to me today at $4.04/gallon plus additional hazmat fees, delivery fee, etc. I found another gas supplier willing to deliver propane to me today for $1.96/gallon, no fees. For a 500-gallon tank, that is nearly $1000 savings plus I would save the annual rental fee. Amerigas appears to be severely overcharging for propane because they know they own the buried tank and I have to buy propane from them.
Desired outcome: Sell the tank to me or have your service crew remove YOUR tank from my property.
Propane tank
Propane tank has been sitting right next to my door, not hooked up properly to the underground gas line, for 6 months. The tank was deposited there initially because the service department said they couldn’t drive on my yard with snow present to place it near the gas line hook up. They said it would be temporary. 6 months later it’s still hooked up with a rubber hose, sitting right in front of my door, and Amerigas will not move it. They are now saying they won’t move it because I haven’t paid for the gas. I paid for the service which has yet to occur, and I paid for a large portion of the one time fill. I am not paying for rest if Amerigas is not ever going to complete the service I already paid for.
Desired outcome: Move the tank and hook it up to the gas line.
A rental fee has begun on my tank july 2021
Ronald Yearwood acct # [protected], July 2021- June 2022 is the disputed period. I received a rental statement in July 2022 and promptly called cust. service for a resolution and cancelled service on July 7, 2022, I believe, and I thought the matter resolved. My service started in July 1971 and the tank was on loan to me, I have the contract. I had no prior knowledge that rent would start in July 2021 and did not receive any billing until July 2022. I request the rental fee and any late fee be cancelled, because I did not have any knowledge of the fee starting.
Propane service
I keep receiving past due notices for the tank removal of my propane tank. Amerigas allowed my 83 year old mother to run out of gas for 10 days in January 2022 and did not come to fill the tank for 10 days after I called to notify them. My mom who lives in my home, depends on propane for heat and cooking. I found Amerigas to be impersonal, and did not care...
Read full review of AmeriGas PropaneLeak check charge.
This started around 18 July when I called to have a 100lb cylinder replace at my home. I was informed this would be done by the 25 July. Several days passed that date I called again and told it would be done in a few days as they had a truck breakdown. Once again no response and I called again. This time I was informed that they no longer use the 100lb cylinders a would have to install a 150 gallon tank. This was scheduled for 15 August. The service technician showed up and replaced the empty 100 lb cylinder with another 100 lb cylinder. This is the way it has always been done. Never in the passed have I ever received a leak check charge! A simple bobble check would be all that would be needed where the tank and line are connected! Calling customer service to complain about the $160.00 charge got me a runaround. I feel that this charge is uncalled for because these tanks belong to America’s and are your responsibility! It’s bad enough that you charge $99.99 for the service call!
Desired outcome: Drop the charge for the leak check and reduce the service charge ..
Bill for duplicate services
After many calls we finally got our propane in May of this year, The service tech was within “30minutes” of completing job when he said he received a phone call from someone at Paintsville, Ky that had a “leak”. The service technician quoted that there was no need to call and that he would be back to complete the job “probably on July 2nd. He was a no sow and no one called. I waited a week and called and someone in the office stated that “needed a flaring tool” but the service technician did not mention that! I received a text message on my mobile phone stating that the service technician would be there! No show and someone named Angela called and stated that the technician had a car accident in the company truck and would have to be rescheduled! Continued with no return call and when I called each person said that they were waiting on a flare to finish the job! I received a bill for $622.78 and even though the job was not complete I went ahead and paid it. No phone for another week and continued to call and finally the technician came out in July to complete the job! I received a second bill for installation of the tank. I phoned and spoke to Ann and I explained to her that I had receive a second bill for installation of the tank and that I shouldn’t be billed again because the first time that he bought the tank in May! She investigated and said that we shouldn’t have been billed for the first time that he came because he did not complete the job! She said that the bill for the $$663.50 would be removed and I would owe the the second time which was$1,229.89! I informed her that I had already paid the $622.78 but she said that they had not received it. Ann was in the resolution department and she stated that the when they received the $622.78 that she would apply it to the 7/19/22 bill therefore I would only owe $607.11. I called again about our gas delivery and then our gas was delivered. I received a bill for that and that was paid. I some life issues and did not check the status of my bill because I was assured that the bill would be adjusted, I received a text yesterday reminding me of my bill of $1,229.89 was due! I looked online and my bill had not been adjusted, I had such a hard time getting my tank and after multiple calls and pro use of return calls but no one from this company ever returned a call to me! After the no show on 7/2 I did not write down anyone’s name because I became weary, This is the worse company that I have ever dealt with in my entire life! Last time I called in July I spent over 2 hours on the phone having to repeat my story time after time! I have contacted the Attorney General of the state of WV and the man instructed me to file out a complaint! I didn’t want to because I have been assured time after time that they would fix the issue! I haven’t even went into how many times that I have called to get the tank set! If I file a complaint with the attorney general I will go into detail of the time it took to get my tank! I will do what is necessary to fight this bill, I do not want this to go on my credit history because the bill is not correct! I have even contiplated getting a lawyer for the aggravation that I have been through! The bottom line your company is trying to double bill me for services that we’re not completed in June! This is fraudulent and I will fight this to the end! If someone from your company calls it will be the first time,
Desired outcome: I want my bill adjusted the $622.78!
Billing
When I finally canceled service after switching over to natural gas, they eventually picked up my two tanks. I talked to customer service when I was canceling, and they told me they'd refund anything left in the tank. I made note of the PSI on the tanks when they were disconnected by our HVAC company. After not receiving any refund, I reached out. They told me the technician notated that both tanks were empty. That's completely untrue. There's been no resolution despite reaching out to both the local Amerigas branch as well as corporately.
Desired outcome: A refund of my two tanks at 25PSI.
customer service does not exist
Been waiting since February for amerigas to pick up a tank . They are really nice to you on the phone and many appointments have been made but nobody ever showed up . Now the tank is in the way for a construction project what to do next ? I made the first request 2-28-22 and i did it online because typically i can be on the phone on hold for up to an hour just to order a delivery . Next i called them march 10th and talked to someone , next i called june 15th again july 15 ,july 28th ,july 29th was the last time and i talked to Mark her was going to get it handled for a aug 8th pickup . Nobody ever came by or called simply ridiculous . My account number is [protected] is there anybody out there ? I have three other tanks currently being used
Desired outcome: I want the tank taken away
billing
Note this has been explained in detail no less than 3 times over the last 5 months. An account number of [protected] has been assigned.
Also note that this is the second time in a row that Amerigas has caused issues in the handling of payments in full for fuel delivery.
This has been going on since April 13 2022 when full prepaid order was not delivered due to the company owned tank on my rental property serving my tenant could not accept over 75% filling and the attached gauge was found to be malfunctioning as well. A 76 dollar credit was offered for over a 100 dollar over-payment which was refused for presumibly obvious reasons and the original payment over payment in full for the order was canceled and payment in the full amount of the actual delivery was made in its place. Note I have the mp3 of the phone call lasting 35 min 46 sec made at 1:29 pm from [protected] on the above date where the second payment for the correct full amount was made on the condition of the first over-payment be canceled The over-payment was not canceled by amerigas as per the conditions of the second payment and my bank, USAA and Visa corp had to make the refund of the improper overpayment.
A bill claiming an overdue amount was received here today.
Who do I contact at this corporation to get relief?
Desired outcome: Stop sending bills for money's not owed.
Deliveries/billing
Last Winter we came so close to running out of gas during a cold snap.We only made it through by lowering our thermostat which was detrimental to our health due to disabilities. EVERY time we called we were assured that the delivery was coming tomorrow or by the end of the week. their call center was horrible. Waiting hours on the line to talk to someone who you can not understand or visa-versa. We called our energy assistance for deliveries and they never submitted the appropriate forms. Only after we called the energy assistance company at the end of the season did we get some action. He told us that their billing to them was sporadic at best and that they would contact them. Even he could not get through to the company. He then told us to not pay them because of the mistakes they made and thank god the seasons length ran longer than normal. When he FINALLY got a number to talk to an actual employee he said they billed them correctly {sort of},and then they told him that we were on a payment program . We were put on a payment plan that we did not want. We were on a payment plan for the last few years but we decided to not get back on one because they changed their rules. Instead of refunding the overages, they were keeping any remaining cash and rolling it over to the next year. Well that's when we decided to not get on the plan last year. Also we saw all the complaints on BBB and other reviewing sites and found out they were bought by some other company, and I believe that's when the problems started for us and many others I now see. It would have been nice to be informed of this by Amerigas. There is no longer any local company offices near our area so now we HAD to go through the call center. We are now searching for a local company and are going to cancel Amerigas asap. From other reviews we have seen that is going to be a hassle of getting them to come and get their tanks/billing. They have already sent us to a collection company because we stopped paying them after our Enery assistance company told us to stop remitting payments until they got their bills to them corrected. He called us back and said they billed the two payments they should have billed looked like 2 bills exactly the same. They may have screwed us now because of their mistakes.I emailed the company and requested how much we owe on the gas we used and the payments they received. {An itemized bill}, No reply from the company except from a collection agency. We just want them and their tanks gone! I am going to cancel our service but we will have to go through the dreaded wait times and the language barrier to hopefully pay them for the gas we used and be rid of them.
Desired outcome: Cancellation of ACCT Bill for propane we USED
Unauthorized fill - fraudulent charges
I had a tenant move out of a house and their account was on keep-fill and their account was in their name. Once they moved out we had the account transferred to our name and taken off keep fill and put on will call as we knew we were getting ready to sell the house. On the day we were to close on the house (3 months later) AmeriGas refilled the tank for $620+ WITHOUT authorization. Now they will not transfer the bill to the new owners and will not reverse our invoice for these fraudulent charges. Please save yourself time, money & years of your life and get a reputable propane company.
Desired outcome: To have our open case be resolved by reversing the fraudulent charges for an unauthorized fill.
gas tank purchase
Amerigas, without notice, is no longer supporting the 100lb propane tanks in Miami Florida. I need to change companies, but can't do so without their signed bill of sale for a tank purchase. Even though I paid for the tank over 2 weeks ago, I can't get a signed bill of sale from Amerigas. Overall, the customer service is awful. I have spent hours on the phone with Amerigas, first they accepted the order for as delivery, and then the kept canceling. Finally, someone informed me that they were not supporting the service at my home. No one in the company seems to know anything and they don't offer any resolutions.
Elvira Loredo
Desired outcome: I need a bill of sale for the tank purchase at 3052 NW 5th Street Miami Fl 33125
