service/delivery
I have been dealing with them for over a month. My husband is disabled. I have been waiting for an expedited delivery for 4 days now. Still getting the run around from customer service. Been hung up on numerous times. Was quoted one price then am being charge over a dollar more. They need to stand by what they say. Its been nothing but stress during this holiday season. Why the price change?NOT A HAPPY CUSTOMER AT ALL. 12/8/2022-12/22/2022. Im still waiting for a delivery so i cant give an end date.
Desired outcome: I would like a delivery as promised with the rate they quoted me.
Failure to close account and pick up tank. Sent to collections due to their non response.
Failure to close account and pick up tank. Sent to collections due to their non response.
Repeated calls with long hold times. Call usually gets disconnected on their end. On the rare occasion someone comes on the line they ask at least three or four times for my name, address, account number, zip code, etc. Then they can't seem to find any notes from previous contact.
At the beginning of 2022 I called to have account closed and tank picked up. I was told they account would be closed and a pick up order for the tank would be sent.
They promise to resolve the issues and then I get yet another bill. After a few months I received a bill from a collection agency for the tank rental that I requested be picked up.
On 9 August 2022 I finally spoke with a lady named Katy who assured me she had closed the account, reversed all charges back to zero and would contact the collection agency to cancel the collection.
When I checked my account it showed new charges and a late fee had been added. Not what one expects from a closed account. I am also still receiving notices from the collection agency which Katy assured me would be withdrawn from collections.
Today I spent two hours using their "chat" system and got no satisfaction or resolutions to my problem.
During the two hour chat I also called their "Permanently 'High call volume' recording. That call got dropped after about 15 minutes.
When calling the recorded menu instructions rarely finish so making the correct selection is impossible. Sometimes the instructions go long enough too reach the 'Request a new account enter a 1' so you can start the circular system of providing you account information at least two or three times to different agents who are 'unable' to get a supervisor on the line for various reasons. If someone comes on the line and identifies themselves as a supervisor they supposedly make the necessary corrections to close the account and clear up the incorrect information sent to the collections agency.
But within a month or so the bills start up again.
During today's chat I provided all the information requested and they offered to come pick up the tank. I had to explain the tank had already been picked up months ago. Apparently no one is entering information for the account.
Is the company just crooked enough that they think people will pay an improper and incorrect bill just to stop the repeated billing? Are they training their agents to use a"Resolution avoidance script" and training them to stall until customers just give up? Are they hiring idiots? What could be the reason a problem like this would go on for nearly a year?
Desired outcome: Account permanently closed. All charges erased. Remove or reverse the improper collections action. I want something in writing from AmeriGas reflecting the requested actions have been resolved.
I also saved a file with the full 2 hour 'chat' that proved useless in case the company would like to see it. I will also record any future chats or phone conversations.
I don't understand why my complaint is marked as resolved. I have not been contacted by AmeriGas nor have I been able to contact them. I also can't find a valid email address for them.
I have the same problem cannot get Amerigas to come and pick up their 120 gallon tank been dealing with them since Dec 2022 and no response yet
Worst company ever I'm filing a class action suit! Who's in?
Gas Delivery
I ordered gas on the website on December 8th. The delivery window was supposed to be December 9th -15th. The gas wasn’t delivered . I made 2 calls to the customer service department and told by someone that delivery will be on December 16th I didn't receive delivery , called again they told me it would be on December 17th , I didn't receive delivery. called again they told me it would be on December 19th , I didn't receive delivery , called again they told me for sure it would be on December 20th , didn't receive even they told me they escalated the call , their call center is bad they don't know what they are doing
unfortunately my tank is rental and I can not order gas from other companies
Tank inspection
I set up my account online, and was advised I would have an inspection of my tank within 14 days/2weeks. It has been almost 3 weeks now. I have been calling and I am told it will be escalated and someone will be in touch, but no one calls. I have no heat and have not been able to move into my house because of this. The lows are in the single digits here.
Desired outcome: I would like my tank inspected and a delivery of propane ASAP!
Propane gas delivery
I ordered gas on the website on December 9th. The delivery window was supposed to be December 10th -16th. The gas wasn’t delivered yesterday on the final day f the delivery window. I made 4 calls to the customer service department and was even told by someone that they were in my area and rest assured that the propane would be delivered. I decided to cancel the delivery and was told it takes 2-3 weeks for a refund. It took a few seconds to have to prepay with a card online but weeks to get a refund. Infuriated I decided to fire this “no customer service, can’t talk to anyone local, outsourced CS department “ horrible company and requested ti immediately come and retrieve your tank. I’ll find a local company that cares.
Desired outcome: Immediate refund of my money
Ameri-not-getting-me-gas - (19th day and counting)
This is the truth and nothing but the truth... straight from Durham, NC.
I ordered gas via the computer on November 28th.. at 30% on my meter.
The computer said expect delivery by the December 7th. Keep in mind, I prepaid in July 2022 for entire Winter fill-ups.
Here is is December 16th... no fuel , colder than halfway to the North Pole. My home was built in 1962, solid but holds coldness, when cold and vise versa. Let me remind you all .. I have not had Fuel since Monday night.
This past Monday night Dec.12th.. I always check my tank every 3 weeks. I looked and to my discovery the meter displayed 5% or 8%.. (bad meter reading display either way). I quickly came inside and turned off my heater/pilot to avoid running out. Froze on Monday night
I called Tuesday morning.. they apologized and said I will have gas by EOD Tuesday.. Okay no issues. Tuesday night I checked the tank.. no change. Froze on Tuesday night
I called Wednesday morning.. and Ohio folks said they will "escalate" and I will have gas by EOD on Wednesday.. Okay no issues. Wednesday night I checked the tank.. no change. Froze on Wednesday night
I called Thursday morning.. they apologized and said I will have gas by EOD. I get home.. No change. I called back on Thursday evening at 5:15pm.. they apologized and said I will have gas by EOD Thursday and I said it's already dark and it's Eastern time zone. I waited patiently.. no truck/no gas. Froze on Thursday night
I called Friday morning.. they apologized and they escualated and they said I will have fuel on Saturday morning and then I said what about today.. you skipped a day. I gave them my struggle.. they said and honored Saturday. Mind you the system earlier this same morning is saying December 20th. Which tells me someone just place an order (that would be the 7 day order).. and I am now stupid right. I waited until Friday around 9am.. a local person on the East Coast answered .. read the notes and said wow. I must give her a commitment. She was polite and understood my issue. She proceeded to write a note and suppose to send it to the distribution team. (I have no record). She also stated I should have fuel by EOD today (Friday). I left work early and go home to check the tank.. No change. I call the hotline.. the same Christmas phrase.. "they apologized and said I will have gas by EOD today". Mind you the same folks earlier that said my delivery would be Saturday. At 5pm this Friday evening he is saying he guarantee and promise that I will have fuel delivered by EOD today. Now it's 9pm Friday , no gas/ no truck. I call the switchboard.. and everyone is gone home to put up their Xmas trees after good lying today.. perhaps. About to freeze this Friday night.
Am I unhappy.. Yes. Am I cold for the consecutive day.. Yes. Has this happen before.. Yes. (Dec 2021, Jan 2022, Feb 2022) I use Amerigas services from the end of October to the end of March on average.. and we can not get it right it appears. I prepay and still no difference. I give them notice at 30%.. and still failures. Too big of a service provider.. Perhaps. Maybe I need to find Santa Clause and ask for a gas truck full of propane to be left at my house, so I do NOT have to call into this center for a few years. ((My opinion only -> Ameri-NOT-getting-me-gas))
Desired outcome: 1st. I need gas. Should I start calling in my order when I my meter gets to 70%? Should I have to repeatedly freeze for several days every December and January? I am tired of this struggle (5th strike)
Delivery service
I would like to file a complaint against Amerigas Propane. I have been trying to receive a delivery of propane to my home. I have been a customer of Amerigas since 2009. I have a credit of $2,000.00 with this company. There is no contact number available in the United States. Amerigas has told me numerous times that I would receive a delivery. The latest delivery that was told was to have been delivered by 12/14/2022. They never came. There is an email address that I have been sending request to: [protected]@amerigas.com. From what I can tell this is the only way to contact them. Still no fuel. Thank you, Judy Sandow
Desired outcome: A delivery of propane which I have paid for in advance.

Billing and delivery issues
When we purchased our home in Aug. we pre-bought the gas in the leased tank. It was measured and we prepaid for 58%. When I set up our new account I asked for the tank to be topped off. Amerigas said they sent someone out and charged me $1067. Once the payment had been taken out I had checked the reading on my tank, after I had to clean the dial off because of all the muck. It read about 55%. I thought either I had a leak or Amerigas never actually came out. I called and they said it would be a $99 charge to have someone come out and check for a leak. It actually should have been free because I was a new customer and they never came out to service the leased tank like they are supposed to for new customers. The Amerigas gentleman came out and confirmed no leak, that in fact no one had actually ever been out to fill our tank. On top of that, I got a bill for that for $319 instead of the $99. Now I have been fighting with Amerigas since October 2022 to get my money back and credit my account for the $319. Now I need my tank filled and I can't get them to come out and fill it. I have been waiting a week!. I have 16 days left before it runs out. At this point I may need to get a lawyer involved. I can never talk to someone that speaks english and I have to constantly repeat my story which means nothing is ever noted in my account. Worst company on the planet! If my tank wasn't leased and I didn't need propane I would get rid of Amerigas!
Amerigas service for possible leak
Gas stove top flare of flames while cooking, smelled gas & contacted Amerigas to come check the lines... Never advised of any charges! When the tech came, he sprayed soapy water on the line, turned off & on the gas, measured the pressure in the line. He came in to check the stove (5 mo. old stove) he could see the orange flames & smelled gas, but said there was nothing in the line & we should contact GE for stove repair! We asked, what are the charges for today? he stated: "there is No Charge for my visit today" a few days later I get an invoice via email for $259.99 = $99.99 dispatch fee & $160.00 for leak check. That's absurd for the guy to be here less that 30 min - spraying soapy water on the line & determining it's the stove not a gas issue. I called Amerigas about charges & was told "that's the fee, and the tech should not have told you = no charge" I asked to speak with supervisor, he said the same! I asked if they would meet me 1/2 way & I'd pay $125, even though I was never advised of any charge for this possible leak in my home! The supervisor told me he would make a note on my acct to discuss any possible charges! REALLY?! they should do that anyway. No special notes needed.
Desired outcome: I'd like the co to write off the entire bill. But at least meet me 1/2 way & deduct $125 off the bill or the full $160 for the tech who told us - "NO CHARGE FOR TODAY"
Propane tank service and fill
I recently moved in to our house and told the tank serviced prior to us moving in. That was a lie (home sellers). Amerigas said the tank was there's (not sure that is true) and that they would be out today before noon. After FOUR calls with agents that all were pretty clueless and obviously had NO idea about who was actually going to service my tank. After them being almost 5 hours late with NO email/text/call I was told by the agent that there is a "truck issue" what a joke. You mean at 10am and no one thought of calling us? They now say "tomorrow at 7:30am" anyone want to take bets that's a lie too? Horrible experience and they haven't even done anything yet (thus the problem)
Desired outcome: They need to apologize / make this right / oh, and actually fill my tank so I have HEAT, HOT WATER, a STOVETOP. They were aware of the "urgency" days ago.
Propane inspection / held hostage / no help
back in August 2022 I inquired about getting propane , spoke with CSR on the phone was told before getting propane there would need to be an inspection and made sure to let me know that was $99.00 I authorized the inspection. After weeks of no return calls ,someone shows up no heads up call/ no appointment . shows up calls my phone tells me that he cant do anything because no one was there and the people in the office were idiots and they didn't know what was going . Again said unable to do inspection on system .
Come to find I get a bill saying that I owe $1273.04 never was told that propane was put into my tank! called the person that came out hey said not his problem and I would have to schedule and inspection . come to find out they installed a lock on my tank that I wasn't told this .((( Holding my tank hostage ))) the rep never sent anyone back for the inspection . called at least 4 times trying to get help ! NO ONE SPEAKS GOOD ENGLISH ! still never got help please HELP ME ! At least 2 incident reports ? I have tried

Lack of service
We have a tankless hot water heater that is fuelled by your company's propane. We ran out of hot water on Thanksgiving Day, mid-day. We put in an emergency call for a delivery. They delivered on that Saturday.
But a problem began. The delivery person NEVER called ahead of time for arrival. My husband had to take me to my dialysis appt. He was gone perhaps twenty minutes, there and back. As he was returning to the house, he passed the Amerigas delivery truck. Because we didn't have a time to be there, and since we weren't there, the gas was delivered but the line disconnected.
For the next week, I called alternatively angy and pleading, several times a day; spoke to four resolution managers; and finally, finally, got the gas connected. The plumber came, reprogrammed the system, and we had hot water. For one day. ONE DAY.
We then lost hot water. The plumber returned, and actually installed a new tankless system. Even though the gas appears to be available, it is not connecting. The plumber is ready to come back as soon as an Amerigas tech. can come out, and the two can work together on this.
Also, yesterday when the plumber and my husband were out by the tank (above ground and outside), they could smell gas. There may be some leak going on.
I go through customer service again and again and again, and we are getting nowhere. We may be old; we may be just a residence, but we do not deserve to be shunted off. Make the service team's phone number available to your customers, because the reps. have no information nor authority to help.
Desired outcome: We want our hot water turned back on. And I want a response, so I don't feel as if I am just shouting into the wind.
Two invoices in the month of November within two weeks
Account # [protected]
I have never received two invoices in one month. And now I have a late fee.
I always pay online, but now I have received a mailed invoice showing the two invoices in November and a late fee.
Please explain what is going on and why the change?
Please contact me. I tried to upload my statements from August 2022 through November on this site, but it would not allow me.

Desired outcome: I would like the late fee taken off my account, and would like to make sure my billing is correct. The second invoice shows an exceedingly high usage for the two weeks it's suppose to cover.
Customer service experience
Date Dec. 8th 2022. approximately 4:45pm.
First let me say that I had the absolute worst Amerigas customer service experience today with the rudest agent I have ever dealt with in my life.
I received a bill stating lack of tank rental payment plus a late charge. The agent I spoke with was no help, rude and was of no help. I had a hard time understanding her and all she did keep repeating they had no record of payment. I checked my bank account the payment and the payment posted and I had a confirmation number from bank which I tried to explain to agent to no avail. I finally asked her to speak to a supervisor. She asked me why I wanted to speak to one. I asked her name which I never could make out. I also asked if she had a rep or operator number but she said she could not give it out. I repeatedly asked to speak to a supervisor to which every time I asked she responded by asking why I wanted to speak to one and refusing to connect me to one so I could resolve the issue. I offered to send screen shot of my bank confirmation but i said i was not going to send payment again until I understood where my money had gone. I finally gave up as it was useless with this customer service rep.
I called Amerigas back and will say the agent I spoke with the second time was courteous. The agent said she would drop the late charge if I was willing to pay right then i declined until I knew where my money had gone. I asked once to speak to a supervisor and she responded let me connect you. It was along wait and she said she will have one contact me within a day.
I contacted my bank and they verified they sent my check but it was never cashed. I had her cancel that check and send a new one minus the late fee.
So it appears the check was misplaced or lost but bank is reissuing check minus late charge.
Again the first agent was the rudest I have ever dealt with. Still flabbergasted to was refused to be allowed to talk to a supervisor for assistance in resolving issue.
Desired outcome: Want the late charge dropped.Would also be desirable if agent can be identified to perform some type or additional customer etiquette training.
a letter that I received on 12/7/22 about owing $174.03 for tank rental
Roscoe Poole Jr. 1208 Pruden St. Edenton, NC 27932 acc.no# [protected]
I pay $119.00 ea. year to maintain the price of gas per gal, yet my tank is only filled twice a year.
I have been with this company over thirty years, never heard of renting a tank, is that too long?
Amerigas closed its Edenton office a year or so ago and I would like to know more about this account activity Date: 11/30/ 22([protected])
as a senior citizen I am at the point of trimming every bill that I can so I can survive.

Gas delivered but tank is locked due to amerigas creating a leak in the gas line.
We received a new tank on 5/10/22. We just moved in to this house in 2021 and the tank that was here did not have a gauge and became empty. They did a swap out and installed a new tank. The tank holds approximatly 60-70 gallons of propane. We ran out of gas on 11/21/22. We only have a gas stove, there are just two of us and we dont cook very much. I spoke to someone on 11/21 they said someone local will be in touch. No calls - I called back on 11/23. They said they will expedite this delivery. I had 10 people in the house for Thanksgiving and still no gas. The delivery came on 11/28. The delivery man said there was a leak at the gas connection that Amerigas had installed on 5/1/22. We know it was then because the house was painted in January of 2022 and the only part of the gas line that did not have paint was where Amerigas installed a new T in the gas line (no paint). This explains why we ran out of gas so quickly. How can you hook up a new tank and not check the connections before you leave?
The gas was delivered to the tank but the tank is locked off and we have been told that the next service date is December 16, 2022. Of course I promptly received an invoice for the new gas in the tank. This is going to be a very easy fix. The gas is leaking at a point where a nut attaches to a T. I cant believe they cant send someone out earlier then 12/16. Needless to say Amerigas has made Thanksgiving 2022 and the holidays a year that will not be forgotten.
Desired outcome: Fix the gas leak sooner then 12/16. Reimburse us for the lost gas from the leak that was created by your installation crew.
Price gouging
I was charged, by Amerigas, $4.18 a gallon for propane. Propane is $2.39 a gallon in this area. I have been an acquired customer, for 45 years. They bought all the companies through the years, that I used to do business with. I am in contact with the Oklahoma State Attorney General's office about price gouging. And, I am going to talk to an attorney about a class action lawsuit, for past price gouging of all these years, for ALL of the people done wrong by Amerigas. I am going to do my best, to make this a high profile lawsuit, so that the world will see, that the Goliath of a business, can be taken down by the small David's of this world. This will be the best human interest story of the decade. And just maybe, big business will think twice before they ever cheat us little people, ever again.
Desired outcome: Resend my propane bill, to me, for $300 less. That is the amount I was overcharged, & I will promptly pay the bill. & it will be accepted by Amerigas, as I am then, currently, paid in full.
Yearly service charge
I have been an Amerigas customer since 2000; today I called to terminate my account. I can no longer tolerate the yearly fee that I am charged for varying reasons. I have been told I was charged because I did not arrange for a delivery by a certain date. I have been told it is because I did not arrange for a double delivery. All of this occurs after the fact. I am a senior citizen on a fixed income; I cannot bear the burden of these extra charges for violating a requirement that I never knew existed in the first place.
Desired outcome: I would appreciate a response.
Customer service
On October 24 I ordered 50 gallons of propane, when I received my invoice it was for 250 gallons. I spoke to a resolution specialist on November 17 and he assured me that on November 22 they would come remove the 200 unauthorized gallons and re invoice me. I have had zero luck in reaching anyone at the customer service center that can fix this issue and now they say I’m past due. Any help would be appreciated
Desired outcome: Please do what you promised
