I wanted to sign on with Angie's List and planned on doing so once I met their minimum requirements such as a business license, renew my lost EPA certification card the the EPA cannot replace due to a fire, forcing my retaking the certification, I told them I did not have a C20 contractors license and did not want to, I wanted to do service only using a business license limiting me to jobs of $500 or less.
They said no problem, they said no problem and talked me into giving them $300 to get the ball rolling, I was handed off to a lady who never got back with me to complete my web page/ listing with them.
I had to be hospitalized with heart failure due to a drug I had taken for kidney cancer and I let them know I was going to be a few months before I got going due to heart failure from cancer drugs and they simply ignored me and went ahead with some lame web page/ listing that did not even have my correct phone number and presented me a legitimate vetted business person which I was not as of that day and despite my not meeting their minimum requirement and not being vetted which they allege everyone is
How was I listed when I had zero licenses, insurance etc!
Not only did they allege they set me up in business and ignore I had the wrong phone number listed and was in the ICU, they billed me another month as I was in the ICU! maybe dying! I told them they took $600 of my last $1300 to my name for doing nothing! they not only tried billing me a 3rd time which my bank refunded me but they started saying I owed them $3, 600 for 12 months even though I was never vetted or my account setup and completed or able to perform legally or physically. My phone number was not the one they listed and they had me listed with C 20 contractors which was illegal and fraudulent. Who charges you to stop? What if you make no money? they still make $3600?
I trusted them, a dying man and they ripped me off for $900 of my last $1300 without a care! they tried to get more but my bank stopped them finally since they ignored me!

Going through the same thing currently. So frustrating. They’re making money of course but us small businesses are hurting with all these scam charges.
