Please save yourself misery, time, frustration, and money by not purchasing from Artvan. We purchased a dining room set right before Memorial Day. We were able to capitalize on the sale for that weekend and arranged for the delivery to be on June 10 th. Despite it being in black and white on our invoice that the set was to be delivered on June 10, they arranged a delivery for June 13 th. At this time, the store would not return our calls and failed to make any attempt to stick to their agreement for the 10 th. We re-arranged for our next available date on June 24th. At this time they delivered, but Artvan failed to include any hardware with the table and chairs. Literally, they left the wrapped table and chairs and bench in the middle of our dining room floor and left it up to us to figure out how to get the hardware and find time for ANOTHER delivery set up for another crew on another day to put the set together. Again, we tried to demand that this be resolved during June 24 th since it was the second time we had reserved a day for this set. All we were left with was pieces of wrapped furniture and chairs in our dining room. After only reimbursing the delivery fee because they failed to deliver, they remained VERY unemphatic to any inconvenience they were causing. Please remember, their headquarters are in Michigan- they leave NO stock at the store. So, if you encounter any problems you have to wait for a truck headed this way from Michigan to bring items that might resolve your issue. Unfortunately our SAGA continues. We continued to set up a third day for them to bring hardware and put everything together. They finally did this and we discover that, upon unwrapping the table, it was DAMAGED. The leaves were also damaged. At this point I was surprised at the lack of customer service more than ever. We had been dealing with management in Michigan, and they failed to make any special accommodations to quickly address our issues, offer any compensation, or any empathy. She claims, " we will replace it with a new one" and failed to acknowledge the immense hassle and scheduling this required for our family, besides lack of having an eating place, frustration, stress and time. She also claimed that we got it on sale, so there could be no more discussion about any compensation! Please note the store manager had already told us " they need to keep the lights on and are not in business to loose money ." Please take that for all it's worth and run the other way. If you encounter any mishap, there will not be any assistance, compensation or accommodations made for you! Finally, on the fourth attempt they delivered a new table and leaves and we are finally content with the purchase. However, horribly discontent with the customer service. I feel responsible to forewarn you. Believe me- we looked high and low to find a set comparable in appearance and we could not. Otherwise, we wouldhave canceled after the second fail. However, this purchase was so horribly handled that it is laughable now even though I feel much rage for the lack of care from a company that very eagerly took full payment over 6 weeks before they cared to deliver an undamaged product in its entirety. Please give the numerous failing reviews more credibility than I did.

Art Van has the worst customer service I have ever experienced. ALPINE STORE IN COMSTOCK PARK. 5 trips 40 minutes away and three of the trips I drove off without my product. I was told on the phone they didnt blame me if I came in for s full refund.

leather sofas protection plan
I bought leather sofas from them, I was charged $159 for leather protection plan NOT being told, I just saw at home that when I looked in the invoice. In fact this protection plan is not covering almost anything. For leather sofas they had to give me maintenance kit, which they didn't. Within 1 year the sofas' paint was coming out. 1, 5 year after I bought the sofas, I called the repair service (which I was charged for), a technician came home, inspected the sofas, after that they didn't call me back.
The second time when my baby wrote on one of the sofa's seats they told me that they will not cover the repair, and I have to pay $402.87 for repairing the part, because they cover only ink stain, but they evaluated my stain as being "extensive". (and again they didn't call back after technician came to inspect the furniture. It was up to me to find out something about the process, I had to call them)

It's public knowledge that art vans warren warehouse had a huge bed bug problem
So our experience buying new mattresses recently? The delivery guys come in, we paid to have our old mattresses taken. The guy starts ripping up my old box spring. Then he points to and takes one photo of a crumb of foam & says it's a "bug shell" insinuating that we have bed bugs. I said [censor], been in this house since 93 & no one has ever been bit by any bugs. We dont have bed bugs, never have. Art van delivery then refused to remove our old mattresses, refused to set up the new mattresses. We contact corporate about the situation, they send my wife five photos of bed bug infested mattresses. They're not our mattresses, not even the same color. Bottom line, art van is leaving customers no recourse if your new furniture you buy from them is infested with bed bugs from their infested warehouse! We're going to tell them that we want a complete refund & we'll never buy art van furniture again. Beware, we're contacting the michigan attorney generals office about this [censor] art van is trying to pull!
My husband and I are facing the same issue. We purchased a sleep set with a king mattress from the clearance center at Great Lakes outlet last month. We have moved to a new place so the bed is the only piece of 'furniture'. About three weeks ago I started waking up with red breakouts on my skin and the bites itch for days. Day before yesterday I actually found 3 BED BUGS on and below the mattress! When we contacted the Art Van Customer services today, they simply denied any of it 'claiming' that their warehouses are exterminated. We told them to come and see it for themselves and they refused to that as well. We still have to find a work around to this crap!

I purchased two nightstands for pick up. I had to call repeatedly to see if they came in. Sometimes, I waited up to an hour before I was connected with a live person. When I picked them up, they were both damaged. A "furniture doctor " came to my house six days later and said they could not be repaired. Art Van never got back to me. Four days later, I called Art Van and waited over 30 minutes for a live person. I was told the nightstands are out of stock and when they come in, I can return the damaged ones and pick up the new ones. No apology, no offer to deliver them. They could care less. Extremely frustrated! Horrible customer service!
art van delivery truck failed to yield to a funeral procession
Art Van tan delivery truck almost caused an accident on June 12 at approximately 12:15pm by cutting off a funeral procession at the intersection of Warren and Westwood. We were leaving St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church to process to St. Hedwig cemetery. The driver failed to yield to the procession by cutting off the procession between the fourth and fifth vehicles in the procession. I was in the second car and witnessed the entire event. I had hoped for police presence to ticket the driver who was most likely speeding as well. Art Van should more thoroughly vet their drivers. Had an accident occurred with MY children in that fourth vehicle, we would be having this discussion in court. Please observe the rules of the road and keep other drivers safety in mind!

Purchase a bedroom set with an mattress and box spring May 11th and was told that I would definitely received it by the end of May! Which was good because i told them that my lease was up on 31st oh May! So after calling my sale rep. about the status of my bed! Was told it was on back order but still should receive by the end of the month! End of the month can! No Bed! Leased up so had to move back home with no furniture! Had a fire and lost almost Everything! Looking forward to being back in my home after being gone for 4 months. Call again ask what the status was told that it was at the warehouse and I'm one first one be be deliver to when they unload ! Bed was unload I was finally scheduled a delivery date and the day before they was suppose to deliver my sale rep. Dominique call me at 8:30 p.m. and told me that the bed was damaged and wasn't going to be was! Piss! So was rescheduled for the following week! Tuesday! So was called to confirm the delivery! Today Tuesday I'm waiting for my delivery was told between 1-4 it should arrive! Call at 4 because it haven't arrived or didn't get a call saying they my be running late! So I call Art Van to see what's going on now! NO BED! WASN'T EVEN ON THE TRUCK TO BE DELIVERED! Piss ! I give up!

I bought a mattress at Art Van store at April /2017 and after only one month and half of use we started to have some issues. It starts to sink in the middle of the mattress and it is showing a inadequate support in the center. When I went to the store the salesperson showed me a mattress with high level of support, so that is what I really would like and then I paid $1.400 usd.
I called to the customer service, wait for two weeks to a visit and then I was surprised with the tests made by a person to tell me that there is no damage at mattress, he only measured if the foam deformed in the middle in a still state, and my complaint was that when lying on the mattress we noticed that the foam is very sensitive and sinks improperly.
The indentation force (load carrier), which must be linked to the density value, evaluates the weight of the foam on it per square meter. This force is the main indicator of the quality of the foam produced since the material should be soft at the beginning of the deflection (lying down) and soon after resisting. This force also determines the comfort factor in the regions of the human body, in the lying position, where the maximum efforts - shoulders, and hips occur.
It is frustration that I paid $ 1.400 for a good mattress and we are experiencing this situation.

Very disappointed of how my couch is turning and how it's not cover under warranty. I called a tech 6/8/2017 for them to see my couch because its cracking. I started noticing this when I moved out 5/20/2017. This couch has been in my basement and no one ever sat on this couch. It's ridiculous of why this couch is not cover under that warranty that's the whole point of me purchasing that warranty. The whole point of me calling right away because that's when I started noticing is slowly cracking every time I use leather conditioner. The fact that I only had this couch for less than 2 years it shouldn't be doing this. We used our cleaner/conditioner once a month or whenever its necessary. I was told I should of called right away, well that's why I called because we notice it cracking. I am not happy with Artvan warranty. I have been buying furniture from Art van so many times and spent a lot. Why would I pay almost $300 to get my leather couch fix when it should be cover. I have a claim number 1522901.

I recently purchased a Lexford 6 piece dining set (SKU: [protected]) and much to our disappointment we set up our brand new table last night which came with peeling wood and chipped areas. There are 3 different spots where the wood is peeling away as seen for example in the attached picture and also a chip out of another area. I called and they said we could return it to the store and exchange it. Why should we have to take the time to do that when it came like this?

I paid over $4600 cash on May 18th. It was delivered on the 20th damaged. I refused the order. I came into the Novi store where it was purchased and they offered to knock only $200 off. This isn't the first time we've received damaged furniture from the Lansing warehouse. Last July ordered bedroom set for $6000 and the wood was all dinged and chipped. I was told it would be fixed, but no one still been out to fix it. Now the manager Courtney is telling me I either have to wait until Wednesday for another delivery. And if I want a refund as I do I'll have to wait 2 weeks for corporate to send me a check. I paid cash 2 days ago. I am not Happy! I've been a loyal customer, and I will not spend my money here ever again. They really need to work on they're customer service! I don't know how they stay in business treating people like this. Art Van should be ashamed of himself.

This journey started in early February. It is now May and our tiny kitchen floor job is still not complete. Furthermore and most disturbing is the lack of follow up from EVERY. SINGLE. PERSON. we have spoken to! The install was delayed because the product wasn't in stock as we were told upon ordering it. WE had to call to find out why we were not scheduled an install date yet. We finally get an install date and the landing area was never ordered as discussed with the sales associate and so a one day job turned into 3 because of lack of material. The, though marked as finished is far from it and the stairs look like I cut the tile and there is no edging on the landing step at all! We have made several phone calls, been to the store 3 times, been told twice we are getting discounted, been told we were getting a vacuum with the order, been told customer service would call me back last Monday and then again today when I called them since I've received no call. And I STILL HAVE YET TO TALK TO SOMEONE! This is the WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I have ever ever experienced in my life! All you people care about is making the damn sale and taking my money for a job not complete and I have to hunt people down to get it done?! I fully expect a phone call TODAY MAY 3, before I leave for work at 230 pm! I don't even feel I should have to pay at this point because of the hoops we have gone thru just to get service let alone the job complete! My husband and I stopped by your Schaumburg store over the weekend. We went shopping for a dining room table. I noticed 20-30 coffee mugs that had Art van furniture on them on a few shelves by the coffee. I asked the sales rep. Gerry if I can have one if I bought a dining room table. Gerry asked the manager and was told I can buy one for $20 since they weren't really for sale. I was insulted. I wanted to walk out just for the principle but I did end up buying a dining room table for $600. Just wanted to let you know a $5 or less mug almost cost your company $600 plus future purchases from a customer. On 2/27/2017 we purchased a living room sectional sofa, as the sales woman assured us that the 25% off sale was running on that day only, and she was surprised to see it because they "never" do that. So since we had just built a new home, we liked it, needed it and bought it. It was delivered on 3/2/2017. I shouldn't have rushed into the purchase because it turned out to be much too large for our great room. Also, the corner section doesn't line up / look right with the way the pillows are that it has. I left messages for her to call me and she didn't. I then called and spoke with the manager (Matt) on 3/5/2017 to inform him that first of all, I saw that the 25% off sale was indeed still going on, and I wasn't pleased with the sales woman's false statement. Then I informed him of our predicament. I inquired about exchanging it for a sofa and loveseat instead, but he rudely informed me that there is a 7 day return policy plus a 15% re-stocking fee, no refund on the delivery fee, that the sofa and loveseat would take approximately 6 weeks to be delivered, and once again there would be a delivery fee. I don't have that kind of money to lose, and I am not happy with the sales woman and manager's demeanor. My reason for writing this is that others should be aware of Art Van's employees' attitude and untruthfulness. Additionally, I don't think that a company should have such a long wait for furniture to be "ordered". I have learned my lesson and will not be shopping there again. I'll stick with the online internet stores. That way I know that I'll receive proper, acceptable customer service.
clearance center beds
Purchsed 3 beds from the clearence center. 2 twin beds and a adjustable queen bed. After a couple weeks noticed a bed bug . This became a weekly event. After getting bit to the point i had to go to the doctor. Just couldn't imagine this from a new bed.
One sunday i had enough i called my sales person and informed her of the bugs. She told me to call the warrenty department.
I called the warrenty department informing the of the bugs. They informed me that this would VOID my warrenty. What ? A product that had a warrenty. My son and i turned the bed over searching for the source. On the adjustable bed taking off the material liner connected to the frame. The material was infested with bed bugs. I immediately began to removed it from the frame. Calling back to warrenty to explain what i discovered. I asked if that part be replaced. I was informed no. That bed bugs caused the bed not to be covered. Nor would Art Van come to my home because of the burg. Very upset because i am still paing for the product.
In the process of adopting a child and their box spring had bugs. All these products came from the clearence center. I sleep in fear every night of bug bites. Waking up killing then as i sleep. I have thrown away all my bed linen due to this situation. This is like selling used beds at full price. Now needing to replace 2 beds while owing a balance on the existing beds.
What king of customer does this to people? This isn't my first purchase from your company. But it is the worst experience in the world.
I will inform all people not to buy beds from the clearence center. This is a unfair service to cusromers.
Why shouldn't my products be replaced?
kingsdown 500 series
Purchased a king size Kingsdown series 500 in 2000 for $2, 800, along with about $12, 000 worth of other furniture. About 2 years later the mattress sagged in on each side so bad that I had to call them to have them replace it. I was told that 1. all mattresses will get an impression where people sleep and 2. king size beds will do this more due to it being large. Well this mattress was so bad that you can even roll to the other side because the hump (which was caused because the other 2 sides where so low) was so high. They did replace it. Then 2 years later had to call again to have it replaced. Exact same problem. My husband and I feel like we are sleeping in our own little cocoon. The only benifit to this is my 2 year old grand son can't roll out of the bed. A tech from Art Van came out to measure the depression. He stated that the depression was not enough to warrant a new mattress. It was under 2 inches (barely). I informed the tech that I would be calling back again. Well the tech just came back yesterday and measured the bed. He only had to measure one side (which was not the worst side) to see that it was measuring over 2 inches. There is also significant sagging on the side. Then he inspected the mattress for stains. He stated he saw 2 stains. Since I have never had the mattress pad off (which I bought from them for $100) unless I was washing it, I didn't know how a stain could be on it. When he went to get his cleaner to see if the stains would come out, I took a closer look at one of the stains. I could see a piece of dark fuzz underneath. I pulled it out. When he came back he was trying to find both spots. I told him that the one had fuzz under the fibers. He then tried to clean the other one, which was so small I could barely see it. The cleaning didn't work so he informed me the the warrant was voided. Right after he left I checked the area and noticed that it looked like it was under the top fiber, which I was thinking how can something stain under the top layer. As I moved it around with my fingers, I noticed it looked like something was under it. And when I softly scratched it, sure enough there was a piece of my blond hair underneath. SO MAKE SURE YOU REALLY HAVE A STAIN AND ITS NOT JUST A PEICE OF HAIR OR FUZZ UNDER THE TOP LAYER!. How many times has that happened that the warranty gets voided when there really isn't a stain and the owner doesn't investigate the area. I immediately called the customer service dept to have the tech come back (he was gone for not even 5 minutes). They informed me that I would have make another appointment for him to come back. So now I have to wait another week... The Kingsdown mattress is the worst I've ever had. My daughter and son-in-law bought a king size mattress for $700 about 2 1/2 years ago and have no sagging at all. And from other reviews it doesn't look like any of their mattresses are any good. I was told last time they were here, and said the depression wasn't enough, that Kingsdown no longer made the series 500... hmmm I wonder why! I feel that if Art Van has a mattress that needs to be replaced 2 times within 6 years ( and actually needed to be 2 times within 5 yrs) they should not be replacing with the same mattress. Art Van should be giving credit to the customer to get a different mattress of their choice from a more reputable mattress company... when the mattress was bought the sales person stated this was the best mattress to purchase. And felt it was better than the temperpedic mattress, which we were leaning towards. If needed I will have them replace it every 1-3 years until my warrant is up...

we have purchased Art Van for years and have paid good amount of money on living room, bedroom, and office furniture. The only time we had trouble before this was with the clearance center which had a faulty reclining couch and dining room chairs that split when sat in. This time we decided to put a couch set on layaway. Put about 25% down and a week later went to check on the order. It seemed three pieces were in, but we wanted to wait for whole set in case it got discontinued. We call back and it went down to 2 pieces. We asked to be notified when all the set is in, but 2 months went by without anything. Then they call and tell us 2 pieces are in. The same 2 pieces. Then try to contact someone and they pretty much say they cannot do anything because the salesperson is "out." Eventually it takes yelling to find out the other pieces were sold without even a phone call to let us pay for what we wanted. The lady actually tells us we should cancel our order, We asked them to figure out what is going on and they never called back, so had to call corporate and go in. Again they take no responsibility and pretty much a customer is screwed unless paid in full ahead of time. This was not a question of funds, but we wanted to pay when it was in because we do not trust them. Apparently the furniture is so popular that it takes multiple months for them to figure out how much to order and the personnel/managers have no problem solving skills apart from regurgitating company policy. These are supposed to be salespeople but are ready to tell a customer to screw themselves because they go for quantity rather than quality. Will not be buying from them again and as a warning never go for layaway because it is an excuse for them to collect interest and they have no further interest in you as a customer.
Additionally, the salesperson was rude when we went in there and asked what job I had. Guess I should have worn a suit to convey I was attorney so he would not be a condescending *******.

I have purchased a sofa from ArtVanFurniture and they delivered the broken one! Asked them to replace it and every time heard only promises. Over a month passed and I still sleep on a broken sofa! I'm absolutely disgusted with this terrible company! They do not stand behind their product and refuse to fix their own mistakes! Do not order from this site! They don't care about their customers at all!
quality issues / poor to no customer service
Ill never again buy at Art Van either. Bought a couch and love seat about 2 years ago. They are leather and after about 6 months the color started to come off and the brown started to turn orange. Called Art Van and they came out and said it was normal. Then they said it was because we didn't clean it enough. Finally they decided that they would dye it even though I was against it because I was convinced it would happen again and they wouldn't answer what would be the solution when or if it happened again. Anyway I let them dye it only to have the problem come back again about 8 months later. After 2 months of going back and forth with them they decided they were going to pick it up and fix it. Well their fix was just another dye job and here I am about 6 months down the road with it happening again. Tried to contact the manufacturer but they wont do anything either they say I have to go through Art Van for all warranty items. Heck I even paid for the extended warranty and leather care package. Needless to say I should have reviewed Art Van a little more before purchasing because all the reviews seem to be the same. Not sure what else to do but continue to pay it off and then never shop there again. Its too bad Im a fairly young guy I probably will buy a fair amount of furniture in my lifetime.

We exchanged a Best chair from Art Van in April for our Bennett chair & Ottoman told price was 915.47. Not even one year & feathers are coming out of the chair. We called a tech out & he took pictures. We called The service department back @ at [protected] the following day & they informed us they could do nothing for us, that you could call your sales person where you purchased it. We then called Mark#2369 @ Art Van on 14 mile road in Warren Mi. #[protected] & explained to him. He said sorry, but you only have 7 days to return or exchange. I also informed him that stuffing was coming out of the Ottoman.
