I have just a short while ago been speaking to avg uk staff on your 0800 telephone number. I have been requesting that the direct debits which have been made to my halifax credit card a/c be cancelled. I found it very difficult to have a conversation with him as the line was bad and his diction was not good.
The following direct debits were made by your company on the following dates:
29th january £44.99 or £49.99
27th february £24.99
27th february £39.99
These charges should not have been made as I stopped avg security some years ago.. I have requested your member of staff to remove these from your records I am sure that I cancelled your service some time ago. I n reality I am due a refund. firstly, I tried their tune upon trial, having installed their free antivirus, and after scanning my system it stated that their 30 day trial had expired. I have only had the computer 6 days, from new, but I only tried the tuneup a couple of days ago. What a con.
Secondly, they have made their browser my default, and despite having changed everything on my computer to English, and everything from them about the security is in English, they have the brouser in French. This causes problems so I decided to cancel the browser, but am unable to do this, I have tried everything. I cannot see from my control panel which entry is the browser, and which is the antivirus, which I don't want to cancel. I also cannot get rid of the useless tuneup either.

I had Avg antivirus, but have now found a much better program.i did not renew with Avg.i was billed for it on my credit card.i have contacted my credit card company about this, I have since found out this has been happening to many more people.this is wrong it may be time for a class action suit against this company. I signed up for two years cover in October 2012. and I have since found out that a third payment has been taken on the 27th September 2015 which they were not authorised to do. I would like a full refund please. the key that was given on the latest email is 0YP362686Y542594R. I have not had the computer that this was originally taken out for since December 2014 and I am covered with other security programme.
This appears to be similar to my problem. I bought the driver support software and was charged for it on my American Express with the avg.com title on the billing with AmEx and AVG tells me it is a malicious driver that I bought and it was not through them. I have also their virus protection and PC Cleanup. This tells me how well I am protected by this company. After talking to their support for 60 min. I felt that I was talking to a used car salesman and not having any problems being solved without more cost.

anti-virus and tune-up failure to install
I purchased the avg anti-virus on july 22, 2015 and wrote down the key to the program. When i recently had some work done on my computer all my programs were lost including this one. Now every time i try to re-install the program i get a message that tells me the installation failed. I have been unable to get any help or satisfaction from avg. The same this is happening with the avg tune-up that i purchased from them on january 14, 2015. I've been able to easily re-install other programs so it's not a problem with my computer.

Activation key error message generated during a paid software download on 13 April 2015 necessitated an additional software download to assist the installation and running of the first primary download, which all proved futile! Not interested any further in technical support nor 30 day trail period to sort out any glitches. I choose to demand a full refund on both products as lodged by me on 13 and 18 April, respectively, as set out in the three case tickets opened by the Supplier/Distributor as, soon as possible.

complete lack of customer support
I installed the AVG Anti-Theft product on to my phone. Recently after having some issues with my phone I had to install a new sim card, this action activated the AVG Anti-Theft lock screen on the phone. I had forgotten the password to unlock this, so referred to the confirmation email I had received from AVG when I installed the product.
It advised me to log-in in the AVG Mobilation website. I did so and it said I had no devices attached to the account - DESPITE having received a confirmation email of this.
Attempting to contact AVG was unbelievably difficult and their "helpdesk" solution advised me to:
a) enter the password for the anti-theft lock screen
b) log-in to the AVG Mobilation website and activate the phone in that way.
They said they are UNABLE TO OVERRIDE THE LOCK SCREEN.
I find this both unacceptable and extraordinary that they are unable to override a function of their own product.
I am also gobsmacked they didn't even bother to read the helpdesk request when I had explained I could not do either of the 2 options they suggested to correct the issue.
The lack of acknowledgement of responsibility for the fact there has clearly been an error on their behalf for the device failing to properly register is astounding.
I am completely disgusted with the company and will ensure I never use any of their products ever again and will recommend friends and family do the same.
failured to protect computer from virus
Purchased avg virus protection and ran a virus scan everyday. Avg failed to stop the cryptowall virus from infecting our computers. This resulted in over 20+ years of client data to be destroyed, a significant loss of income, additional financial expense in having to replace the computers, and on-going problems in attempting to rebuild lost data. Our e-mail program was destroyed as well. We contacted avg and reported the issue and requested that they close our account and refund our money. Since we purchased a two-year protection program from them and the one-year would be in march, 2015, we requested that they refund one year of our payment. Avg said they would close our account, but no refund would be issued. Avg charges for services that they do not provide and then refuse to refund customer's money when a system is completely destroyed by their failure to protect.
I downloaded an free avg anti-virus and maintenance software for a 30 day free trial, then at the end of the end of the 30 day trial I was going to purchase a full version. I haven't had the trial version even for two weeks, now it is starting to close out my account saying my trial is ended, but has not been 30 days yet. If I can't use the full 30 day trial I will not purchase your service.

I was on AVG's homepage and went to purchase their antivirus protection the full version and somehow, I was redirected to mbcontact for my information to purchase this product. Now AVG claims that I never purchased their product. I am so frustrated and disappointed in both companies.

AVG downloads were incomplete about two days out of a week. On one occasion, missed a worm that another company had diagnosed. Took too long to run a scan. Non-cooperative and refused a refund immediately after last payment. Never again.

the amount of $29.99 to my credit card then they asked me to add my credit card number again and as I didn't want to pay twice for the same purchase I signed out.

I used to subscribe to AVG anti-virus software but I stopped a year ago because it let a ransom virus infect my computer. Despite that AVG is saying it will deduct a renewal fee from my bank account on or around 12th Jan 2015. I told my bank to stop any direct debit mandates to AVG but they could not find any. They did, however warn me that AVG might try to raid my account via a Visa payment mechanism. I tried to get in touch with AVG but I could not find any channels of 2-way communication other than their technical support chat line. I left a message on the support line, telling them to leave my bank account alone but they did not reply. I understand that there have been several similar complaints made about AVG.

Purchased avg family safety filter for my computer. The software works well but it stopped working and my wife spent two hours on the phone with customer service from india. The next day the computer would not boot normally and was stuck in safe mode. We called again and the problem was fixed. I then called to try to have the original problem fixed and I was told my computer was infected with 8000, yes that's 8000 bad files. The offered to fix it for $300.00 to $400.00 dollars. I declined and uninstalled and reinstalled the software and it works fine.In summary the product it good but the beware of customer service, they are trying to make money on unsuspecting customers and sell you worthless anti virus products. I was told that anyone could to get to my computer and that it was at risk. I was told that I should remove "melware bytes" because it conflicted with the avg soft but I think they were trying to get rid of the competition. I believe they would tell you poop tastes like candy if they could get money from you. Beware!

Avg schedules for update and scan :
Avg takes over my computer with its scans and updates to the point I cant use my computer for at least 30 mins while a scan or update is running.
My gf thinks I am ignoring her and lying when I tell her so am having constant argument about cause of avg.
I can reschedule the scan and an update but I have no option to reschedule their definition update and it ties up my computer for 45 mins every morning on startup, it is pissing me off and my gf

Do not download AVG. It corrupted my system and I have been fighting with them since April for a refund. My credit card company is in the middle of disputing the charge and I have also turned it over to the Better Business Bureau. They're a fraudulent company with a poor product.

I received an invoice for & pound;59.99, already paid for a two year renewal of avg internet security. On checking I had two licences that I was no longer using, but had been automatically renewed by avg and my credit card charged. I hadn't ordered the renewal, or authorised any payment. As far as I can see this ought to be illegal, charging your credit card without any authorisation. For a company selling security software this is disreputable and can only be viewed as a scam. How do you tackle this, I can write to the credit card company, but there should be a more effective way of flagging this. Any ideas

persistent attempts to install avg anti virus protection
I had norton anti-virus protection, until last february 0f 2012 when it expired. I then tried avg anti-virus protection for one year but didn't like the pop-up adds and general bad service. Last february, 2014, I purchased and installed norton anti-virus protection once again. I thought this norton soft-ware cleaned out the avg software. Apparently, it did not. For the last six months avg has been sending pop-ups trying to re-install their program. How do I get them to stop?

I paid for agv internet security, they took charge of my computer, a few days later I had a pakistani sounding fella call me on my home land line that only 1 other person has that number an told me I had a huge downloading going on from windows, and that im to let him take charge of my computer which of course, I put down the phone, I can only think they could have got my number through the internet connection... When I bought avg tuneup, avg actually installed a virus or trojan horse on my computer which changed my preference for newtab selection. I spent many hours one day trying to rid myself of this abomination, reading complaint files, etc. I tried uninstalling the programs through windows programs and features and in some way it was locked in and would just loop instead of allowing its removal. I tried the avg browser configuration tool — the one promoted by the company on its customer service page and it would not work. If it did once, it would stop working on the second attempt. The phone number listed was bogus. It had been disconnected some time ago and the similarly bogus customer support page still showed it.
I finally had to manually go into the browser configuration page about:config and search "newtab" and manually remove it. So far it is working. But as a result of the nonexistent customer support, I have disputed my credit card company paying them for avg tuneup and I have removed it from my computer! It is unfortunate because previously I had had good results from both the purchased anti-virus program and the pc tuneup program. This experience was enough to sour me totally on the company. I will search for another internet security program from someone who actually cares about its customers.

I bought the 2014 AVG 2014 with PC Clean-up. It gave me both licenses, but the instructions weren't able to be completed. This is because it would not show me the links I was supposed to click on. Every time I would click on AVG it would go to my 2012 AVG. It will not show me the 2014 AVG nor the clean-up program.
extremely poor customer service
I live in australia. I renewed my avg licence in may 2014.In mid june 2014, due to a lightning strike nearby, my pcs hard drive and cpu were destroyed. I have bought a new computer and even though I have had conversations with several overseas representatives of avg (their grasp of the english language is questionable) and at least 5 emails back and forward, I still cannot get assistance to transfer the remainder of my one year licence to my new computer. I have provided then with a copy of their invoice showing that they received the original payment and issued me with a key number in may. I have tried using that key number in my new computer but it does not work. They keep telling me to download the original version from my old computer and do not seem to understand that it is totally buggered. It does not seem fair that even though I have been a regular customer for about 8 years, when you need a hand their compassion and assistance is zero. It is not the piddling cost of paying for a new licence that disturbs me, it is the principle that is involved.
