I did a wire transfer using bank of america in baltimore MD johns hopkins branch to my own account in India using SWIFT codes. I was told that india is a slow to pay country and it takes about 3 weeks and no investigations would be don't till then. It has been 2 and a half months and it hasn't gone through. My bank in india has not received any information regarding this from bank of america and the bank of america is not willing to help. Every time i contact them they tell me that they are sending e-mail to the bank in india to find the status and that the money is in india and nothing can be done about it and it is possible that i lose my money. I have no clue as to how to go about it.

Bank of America is at it Again!

Since "taking over" for my elderly father's finances, I've found several instances where companies are taking advantage of him. One of these is the Infamous BofA. Dad had $5800 sitting in an unused checking account. For some reason, I decided to TURN OVER the first page of the Oct 31 statement and what Do I see - a MONTHLY SERVICE FEE OF $18! WHOA - what the heck is this? There were No fees before! And why does he have a LINE OF CREDIT for...get this...$200? Yep - Two hundred Dollars. That's a line of credit? Where did that come from? Upon calling, they advise that they Started charging him in August, and his "interest checking" wasn't interest checking, but "preferred checking" because of that $200 line of credit? So he's paid $54 for the privalege of having a $200 line of credit? They would NOT refund any of this money, but did offer to switch him back to free checking. He (we) cancelled the account.

There was nothing on the statement for Jan, Feb, Mar, Apr, May, Jun. No fees. Since account wasn't used and there was no other correspondence, I didn't check July, auG, sept cept to glance at the front page. I turned over the first page of October and noticed the fee. Apparently, the min balance is $1500 for free checking, but someone decided to open a $200 line of credit for him and put him in some sort of preferred account because of this new "loan", which then carried a $10000 minimum balance. Since this account was sitting at $5800 and unused for about a year, it was clear the history would never show it as a $10000 minimum. I KNOW he never talked to them about anything, because he was moved into our home and now into Assisted living, where he doesn't have any phone service. We have cancelled the account and are awaiting his money, minus the $54 we still feel was taken fraudulently. I never saw any correspondence in any statement about any "change to terms", and no other mail was received indicating any change of terms. I understand the reason for the fees - someone changed his type of account without his authorization. When questioned, BofA said they didn't have ANY accounts with an $18 fee, so they initially didn't have a clue, either. They said it was so he could get a discount on that $200 line of credit. Someone definately (or some computer programmer) played a fast one. Nice try, but you lost this account too. As for being oblivious, not hardly. Have 6 degrees and understand engineering, law, and finance terms better than almost all. Unless this change in terms was mailed to him more than 3 months in advance (prior to June), I would have seen it and had him close account sooner. We are awaiting check. If it is not mailed within Federal Law requirements, will file official complaints. Clock is ticking. (PS another bank where account was closed in August has yet to send the proceeds to a PO BOX - so for now, we consider them to have stolen THOUSANDS AND THOUSANDS of dollars, so I guess a $54 theft shouldn't be a big deal, but Bof A has apparntly done this to others recently.) Oh, did I mention that my B of A credit card is going to be cancelled as soon as his check is received? And Nancy is in the process of moving all her direct deposits over to a Local Savings bank for her in SC? Happy customers tell maybe 1-5 people (and only if service is truly outstanding). Unhappy customers tell the world.

Thanks for all the feedback everyone. Dad already had other banks. Four I've found so far. We have cancelled one account in September - AND ARE STILL AWAITING THE CHECK. That's another story for a different day. I didn't make it to the PO Box today, so don't know if the BofA check has been received yet. As for his primary account, Dad is banking with Chase. With his substantial "relationship" there (as B of A called it), I don't think Chase would ever charge him a fee or do anything to annoy him. So far, so good. They did make me drag him out of the nursing home into the bank, where he just sat in a chair, just to reorder checks for him, but other than that, they have been most helpful. They tried to convince me to move, but I'm happy with my to local banks. The other accounts are with Bank of Indianapolis, and I see no fees on any of those accounts ever, but from now on, I'll be opening every statement and reading everything. Valerie
PS - my big beef is really with the $200 line of credit - because he never asked for it nor applied and that is why they put him as a "preferred" client at BofA. That just "showed up" and that sure as heck isn't a normal practice to grant someone a "loan" without he/she asking for it!

BOA can go too HELL all I care. The most un-ethical bank on F.. earth. I have a mortgage with them I have records that i pay my mortgage on time every month. the Mother "f..'s" claim sometime back i missed a payment.They refused to credit me for the month they said i missed. The mother f... said OH sorry, it's a mistake made from our Accounting dept. " i spoke to Accounting the mother F...'s said OK ! will adjust your escrow acc. they ###ing Lied for ONE 1/2 YEAR THEY ###ING DO NOTHING. So, while this ### prolonged for a year 1/2 " being disputed THE MOTHER ###ER'S TURNED AROUND AND CHARGES ME $95.00 FOR A YEAR 1/2 WHILE I WAS DISPUTING THEIR ###ING BOGUS CHARGES. THEIR REASON'S "IS" FOR A YEAR 1/2 ALL MY MORTGAGE PAYMENTS WERE NOT BEING APPLIED TO MY PRINCIPAL & INTEREST SO, THAT CREATE A SHORTAGE ON MY ESCROW ACC. AND I MOST PAY ALL THE BACK LATE FEES. MOTHER ###ER'S. THEY SHOULD F... GO TO HELLLLL THEY'RE THE WORSE ###ING BANK YOU SHOULD EVER DEAL WITH.

Received 2 charges of $35.00 on checking account after Deposit had been made
If you look at account detail you see deposit of over $1400 and then 2 charges of $35 for overdraft protection. I called the day of the deposit and the charges it was late afternoon and told that they had not been posted to my account. I assumed (shame on me when dealing with BOA) that would be taken care of. The next day they are still there. I did the online chat (which is a joke) that all they do is ask you to hold while they check on it and say everything is correct. I copy and pasted the charges directly from the on-line banking detail they provide and was told I needed to look at another screen? why do they offer that one? Ridiculos. Customer Service NOT! In florida the only bank that still offers customer service is Citizens Bank and Trust. NOT BOA! They have gotton WAY to big and forgot they need customers and to keep customers need GOOD Customer Service!

seems boa punishes the ones that pay and gives the deadbeats that don't a better deal so they get more interest money.
Have been a customer of boa for over 10 years, overpay my acct each month, have never been late on a payment and the minute I pay 1000.00 they reduce the credit line that amout. Need to protest nationally.

I have had a simple clerical error with Bank of America. A payment in the amount of $1302 was called into the bank. The operator entered $1032. This error has magnified into a great deal of confusion at the bank.

One branch wants to foreclose.

Another branch is stalled in modifying the loan.

Another branch is stalled trying to sell the loan.

In the meantime the bank has ceased communicating with me. I can't get through. It is always voice mail and a call is never returned. My last formal communication with the bank was mid November.

When I started the modification process I was current on my mortgage. Now because of Bank of America's bureaucracy I am seven months behind. The missing payments are from misapplied HAMP payments and other clerical errors. The bank does not recognize the HAMP payments yet it is keeping the money. Why do they want me to fall behind? Do they get paid twice as much then because of Federal guarantees?

I have been told to reapply, yet nobody has sent me anything.

As administrator of the law that created HAMP, Bank of America has accepted a fiduciary obligation to fulfill the intent and purpose of the law. A clerical error that the bank refuses to correct is an obvious and blatant violation of the law. It may be apparent that Bank of America is using the money for corporate profits.

It has also come to my attention that my mortgage may part of an accounting strategy to spread the banks losses over several quarters to manipulate it's obligation to the IRS & investors in the company's stock.

This I do not understand. I have been given a "Advocate" & a "Negotiator". My case has been "Escalated" several times. Apparently this means nothing. Nobody has ever called back.

I do not want to lose my home because everybody is blaming somebody else. I have filed with every Federal and consumer agency. Everybody wants to point the finger at somebody else. I have contacted the 'somebody else's" already.

My son opened an account with bank of america last friday, feb. 10, 2017. This s the first time he has ever open an account with a bank. He went to pnc bank in englewood nj on feb. 14, 2017 to take out $10 and the atm retained the card. On feb. 15 2017 he called pnc to let them know had happened. They told him that he had to to boa to get another card. He called boa and they told him to come to the local branch and they can give him another card. Mind you the atm card he had was a temporary card. When he went to boa they old him that the account was closed. H asked why and they couldn't give him an answer. He went home and called several times and spoke to about 4 customer service reps and each one of them told him a 4 different stories. Either he was overdrawn or he has money in the account and they will mail him a check. My problem is why did you close the account and what is the total on his account. When I came home I called again and the rep told us that his account was active. All he need was another cd. Sh transferred me to somebody else and told us that the acct was closed because they can close the account anytime they want. What kind of answer is that. Very unprofessional. I am through. What should we do.

Today I received a call around 2:00 pm by a man named Sabio Majo telling me he was going to reduce by rate to 6, 99, He told me how much money was charged on my account which was right. He told me he would call me back in about a half hour to let me know for sure.He gave me his number to call [protected] x238
which rings bizzy. I have called 3 or 4 numbers at Bank Of America but none will answer my question. I want to stop anyone from using this account for about month.

Am in tears as I type this, In 2017 I was desperate for a job, posted my resume on Career Builder, a few weeks later I received a letter offering me a job, I accepted it desperately, the company was based in Canada, they sent me a cashiers check $2700, they requested me to cash it and send them $2400, of which my pay was $300 for the job. Went to my bank then Bank Of America, cashed the check, went to walmart, purchased a Money Gram and sent them the money. 2 days later went to Bank Of America, they had closed my accounts for cashing a counterfeit check. I showed them proof that i had been scammed. They reported me to ChexSystem for Suspected Fraud Activity. My life has been a nightmare ever since, I haven't had a bank account for almost 5 years now. Even after the Federal Trade Commission filed a lawsuit against Money Gram for helping fraudulent telemarketers and con artist trick US consumers into wiring them money. I received a letter from FTC proving I was among the people that were scammed, Bank of America refuses to have this Fraud removed from the credit. I need help !

I was provided a 6 month trial period with the promise that bank of america will give me a permanent modification. It has been a year and still nothing has come through as far as a permanent modification. I took the paperwork to an attorney and was told that this was only an agreement to pay fees and it was not a modification. I am still awaiting for someone to answer my request to get my modification. Somehow, they keep changing the person in charge of my mortgage. The servicing department is better off if we continue paying their dues, other than pay for our balance on the mortgage loans. They make more money servicing the loans as a modification does not benefit them. I was unable to get a modification and they continue to process paperwork towards foreclosure. They are criminals in the clear!

I have been trying 6 years to get them to refinance my loan they won't. I originally had countrywide and they gave me an adjustable interest rate and nearly made me lose my home. now BOA has my loan and they won't help me either. They said the same thing CWH said wellsfargo owns my loan and they will not modify or refinance. How can they bluntly come out and say that. I am house poor and can't live this way anymore. I make 80, 000 a year and can't buy a new car or go on a vacation never mind buy a weeks worth of groceries that will last a week. I am getting to the point of calling the local news people and exposing their business ways.

We are in the midst of our second bad experience with a Bank of America mortgage. With our previous home, we started with another mortgage company (Wells Fargo), which was a very positive experience. After a couple of years, our mortgage was sold to Bank of America (an all-around pain in the behind, but that's another story). When we purchased our current home, we went with Countrywide. In what was probably a mistake, I told the mortgage agent about our previous troubles with BoA and asked him what the likelihood was that our mortgage would be sold. He told us not to worry, and that fewer than 10 percent of their mortgages get sold within 5 years. Guess what, three weeks after closing on the house, we got a letter informing us that our mortgage had been sold to BoA.

Our first year went by with the typical minor hassles over electronic payments not being received and early payments being applied to the interest rather than the principle, despite our explicit instructions (aggravations, but not huge deals in the grand scheme of things). We made every payment on time, until this month. When we sent in our check, for some reason it was made up for $1800 less than we owed (we currently own two houses, and the check covered the payment for one house). To compound matters, we were out of town for a week and returned on the 16th (our payment was due on the 15th). When we returned, we realized right away that we had messed up on the payment, so we contacted BoA and sent our overdue payment with the late fee on the 17th. Everything's ok now, right? Wrong! On the 20th, despite speaking with BoA and being assured that everything was fine as long as they received the payment befor the 30th, we started getting calls from collection agencies. They are calling us at home, at work, at our kids' soccer games, etc. I've gotten so sick of their calls already (today is only the 21st) that I have started logging their calls and am planning to take legal action if they don't stop calling (how many times do we have to tell them the check was dropped in the mail at the beginning of the week before they get the message and stop harrassing us?)

I admit, we made a mistake and were late with a payment, but it hasn't even been a week yet, and BoA has already sicced their collection agencies on us. In 20 years of homeownership, I have been late with maybe 3 or 4 payments, but I have never been treated like this. If you like being dehumanized, treated like garbage, lied to, and given attitude by customer "service", then Bank of America is for you. Otherwise, steer clear if at all possible (and refinance your loan with another mortgage company if BoA gets its greedy hands on your mortgage - that's what we're doing next)

I hope everyone realizes that Bank of America is nothing more than Fleet Bank in drag. Up here in the northeast we more accurately referred to them as Fleece Bank. They had such a bad reputation that they needed a face lift and a new identity. What better name than BoA? Sort of like the Cowboys being America's team or some such rubbish. You need to know only one thing, they were originally spawned from Rhode Island's finest. Rhode Island, for those that don't know, is regarded as George's Bank if you're fishing for the criminally insane. And most of those indicted worked for Fleet. So they quietly fade into the woodwork and re-emerge nationally as BoA so they can spread their deceit to the far corners of the country. I can't wait to see what kind of mayhem they wreak on the US tax payer.

Thank you eric 1989 for sharing your experience with BOA. I too have experienced the type of treatment and their illegal scam to steal my home as you have. They are so bold and don't try to hide it. They think they are above the law because they got away with paying all the State Attorney Generals off with large sums of money...while they don't miss a beat continuing their fraudulent activity.

What can I say except that I am very disappointed with Bank of America. I have been serving in the military for 18 years now and during that time I have had a credit card with BOFA 14 years of it. I have not once from what I can remember being late or overdrawing from this credit card at all. Yesterday I had a reservation at a hotel for a Navy business trip I had to attend. I paid $200 on my card to make sure that I was covered for this trip 2 days prior. When I arrived to check in my card was declined. Upon calling the 1800# the payment STILL HAD NOT POSTED! So at that time I wanted to speak to a customer service rep. After waiting for 25 minutes (Now my Verizon card had ran out) I finally got to speak to someone. I requested if they can please speed up the process of my payment so I may check in with the hotel. Then the Rep once again put me on hold to speak to a analyst. Once he came on he asked me all these questions most interesting enough was what my occupation was. Once I told him he said “We at Bank of America really appreciate your service”. Then proceeded to prod me on some older credit card issues that I had in the past with other companies and one I had never heard of (need to look at my credit report). After I explained some of the issues with him I ask what does that have to do with the payment I made to your card? Then he tells me he is doing a credit review………………….. Really? So after he says that he puts me on hold again only to come back and say” Mr. ------we see that you have a great history with us. But due to the fact that you have 2 or more delinquent cards on your record we are terminating your credit effective immediately”. I was in pure shock I literally said nothing at all for at least 20-30 seconds. Here I am in the middle of the travel and Bank of America left me high and dry in a bad moment. Not we will be terminating your account in a week or month…but at that same moment when I needed it the most. My credit limit on the card was only $400 and I paid 200 on it. I never had been late with payments to them. THEY HAVE THE NERVE TO SAY TO ME “We at Bank of America really appreciate your military service”. Obviously not… Because if you did they would not do that to me or anyone else that is associated in protecting their freedom on a daily basis. I truly want to let my fellow military brothers and sisters know that BOFA really does not care two cents about your sacrifices for this country. Take your business elsewhere because if they can do it to me (18 years in) they will defiantly do it to you and your loved ones. I might also add that this is just not for my military brothers and sisters this is also to all the Americans that have or might do business with BOFA.

I also was discussing loan modification (and was current on mtg) when I had water damage. The insurance co. paid out the check quickly and I sent it to B of Am to sign off so I could have the repair work completed. B of A kept telling me to submit receipts and a letter, they were going to have the work inspected and a reimbursement would be paid to me. Every time I tried to get a pay out there was some excuse. At some point, I was told I was NOT able to do a modification program and the investor would not modify the note.Now I was told I had to have all of the work complete before they would reimburse me. They wouldnt even pay out the deposit direct to the carpet people. The work is completed and it's been inspected for the 3rd or 4th time. Now they say that because I have entered into a short sale agreement they can not pay out the Ins money. It's been way over a year and I've done every thing they requested. they keep sending me signoff forms for a general contractor to sign off. I did not use a general contractor so now I'm screwed.

My odessey started with an ill-advised mortgage refinance through Countrywide 5 years ago. Three years ago Bank of America “assumed” that loan and the nightmares began. Unfortunately about that same time my business was victimized by an individual that embezzeled a significant amount of money from me. I have since had wages garnished from my current job for the last 18 months, which has put a strain on making my mortgage payments as timely as I would prefer, but I have made them nonetheless.

The most I have been behind has been 33 days, but you would think from the 5-6 calls per day starting from the day after a payment is due that I were 33 months in arrears. I don’t know how to stop the harrassment. I have called them directly and given them specific dates as to when I would make a payment, but still they call each following day. I have updated my account on the website and still the calls continue. There seems to be no depth to which these inconsiderate heathens will not stoop to get money to pay for their past bad deeds.

They illegally foreclose on thousands of homeowners and get fined 10.8 million dollars, and then the federal government bails them out and now we, the honest and once again vicitmized public are being harrased to the point of public humiliation and health risks to bail them out yet again!

I received the homeowner modification packet to hopefully get a better mortgage rate on my home. Me and my wife have been unable to work for the past 5 years. I started this process 3 months ago to no avail. They transfer me to 5 different people every time I call. My case is easy because I have no pay stubs or income for the past 5 years . We’ve been living off of the help of our kids. I faxed them all required paperwork and 3 weeks later they told me they never got it and that I need to fax it again?

Im seriously concerned as to what is going on. They avoid my calls and they never answer my calls. Any good lawyers out there contact me. I see im not the only one experiencing what the bank is trying to do. Why say you are going to help people when what you really want to do is send foreclosure notices. Smart ploy by the bank and we shouldn’t let them get away with this. I am willing to communicate with other people with the same issue. Proper authorities need to be made aware.

Can somebody PLEASE tell me why we have a congress and house of representatives that allow this sort of treatment of its citizens to take place and still smile as they raise a glass to toast these same CEOs that are paying themselves millions of dollars in “BONUSES” at financial insitutions like BofA because they brought our country back from the brink of finanacial ruin? Are you kidding me? Is anyone but the financial insitution executives better off from this BS bail out? Enough is enough Bank of America!

You’re getting you EFFIN money from me, leave me alone already! Oh, and by the way, why don’t you produce the original loan documents while you’re at it.

All you can do is put a consumer statement on that credit line explaining the situation and note that this was a forebarence agreement while in cancer treatment

So I sell a car. BOA asks me to fax them the title and registration. I have 3 conversations with the loan officer, and never does he ask me what name he should disperse the check to. I sell the car and the buyer gives me a BOA check with my name for $1, 000 more than I sold the car for. I write him a personal check for the difference. I go to the local branch to cash the check, and they decline it because the check is made out to my son who has an account with BOA. The problem is that my son is in the military and overseas. BOA tells me that they are overnighting a new check on Friday. On Monday, I still have no check and call to get a tracking number. The loan officer says he will call me back with the tracking number. Tuesday comes, and I still have no check, no tracking number, and the loan officer won't return my calls. I call Customer "Lack of" Service and after spending 10 minutes (I timed it) in the telephone tree from hell, I talk to a manager who is as helpful as ice cubes in the Arctic. After speaking to the 2nd manager, I am informed that there is no tracking number because they haven't issued a check. So it is okay for this financial institution to blatantly lie to their customers. I have called and left messages all the way up to a Senior Vice President, and nobody can tell me if and when I will get paid. As it stands, I am out a car. I am out a title to a car that I legally own. I am out $1, 000. And freaking BOA can't even tell me if or when they are going to pay me. They are undoubtedly the worst corporation in the U.S.

My relative is have went through this same scenario and after 2 years they putting the house on auction sale in one month and going through NACA and B of A (Loan Modified Loan Specialist) stated to forward all documents to NACA (Neighborhood Assistance Corp. of America), The notice for the auction sale was posted on the gate of the secured community. It so happened a neighbor that is a real estate agent give it to my relative and informed her and now my relative is going through a Quick Sale and the RE Agent will negotiate for the quick sale or short sale process. The relative has received info from the RE agent & stated the banks only want to talk RE for Short Sale.

My relative was doing the Home Affordable Modification loan.

Well we are in America but banks like Bank of America is owned by China and other countries, because we buy from China and every thing you see in the stores are from China. They are making a lot of money from the Americans. They love us because their citizens don't buy very 3 or 4 years like furniture and they or some may buy furniture ever 10 years. I had an instructor that traveled to China for business and he was told this from another Chinese Businessman.

I do not know how but I was 8.00 late to my boa card. I am the only one on the card and I was not e. Mailed or mailed or called about it. 1 week befor the new bill was do my husband got a call from boa and they told him all about my 2 cards how much I have on them and how he could find out all about any of my accounts. I did not tell my husbend anything about my accounts. They are mine not his and his name is not on them and he did not no my password or any other info but he got all of the info. I had 6 months ago call boa and told them that he was niot able to get any info on my cards. When I called them they said that they can tell my husband everything he wanted to know that is the law. The thing is they never contacted me but found my husbands cell phone # and called him. I think this is bull! Please let me know what or if I can do anything.

When you sign up for a credit card, you are required to list your TOTAL annual household income on the application. If that total included income from your husband, he is a guarantor on the account, and has legal access to the account information (as he can be legally held liable for unpaid balances).

Given that you admit you were late in paying off your balance, and insist you do not know how you were late (really? you do not know?), it is reasonable for the bank to decide you are not capable of managing your debt, and instead go to the guarantor for payment.

It sounds like you are asking if you can get compensation because the bank spoke to your husband, and did not call or email you first...none of that would have happened if you acted responsibly with your debt and paid your bills on time.

3. You are either making stuff up, or leaving important details out. No bank is going to give out account information to someone who is not listed on those accounts, or call their husband (instead of the account holder) over $8.00 owing - you must have had some history with your accounts and debts. One guess is that you recently applied to refinance existing debt.

The problem is not BOA...the problem is that you are trying to hide your debts from your husband, and expect the bank to help you.
