All I want is a REFUND at this point. The item was initially supposed to be a B Day present but that went by. So I decided that it could then be a Christmas gift. Nope - that day past.
Enough! Do right by your customers especially if they've been with you for years!

It's just not possible to contact a CSR and they are reluctant to respond promptly to emails although they did admit (by email) that they had some tech issues and were sorry for the inconvenience. Since then, I have not heard back from them.
I purchased two Esso Gift Card for $200 with a value of $234 on June 23, 2017 and another two cards on October 20, 2017. Nothing received so far and I've since provided proof of purchase and my email account.

Join the club i purchased 600 dollars worth of gas gift cards and have been trying for months to get the link i received a few responses promising the link would come but nothing happened the credit card company can't get involved now and the links never came. i will never buy anything from these scammers ever again. i am also reporting them to better business bureau.

I ordered a tablet but did not expect it to be totally in Chinese, including the instructions. I hope you can solve this as it is useless to me as I do not speak or read Chinese. I also am not pleased that there is no longer a phone that can be called for customer service. I expect to get an answer very soon or I will simply send this item back. This is very stupid that I must use so many words or you will not answer my complaint.
I ordered an electric blanket from them- same thing- box completely in Chinese.. adapter for the blanket sent a few days later, looked like it was bought second-hand at a garage sale with the front of it felt penned out, it weighed close to 20 Buytopia sent an email to use the adapter sent with the blanket because the voltage is different between our country and China. Needless to say, when plugged in- it vibrated, starting smelling, and almost melted. If someone feel asleep, likely they'd be burned to death! Obviously not FCC compliant, which is illegal!
I wrote to them a week ago, no response.
Checked the suppliers website- all completely in Chinese.
Called a number on Buytopia's email- a recording that said to email them.
My first time ordering from Buytopia- definitely my last. SCAM company! Two other items from the same order never received. How can they stay in business?!

I used Buytopia only once and will never use them again! Shipping was quick and I was very impressed with that, but my order arrived completely damaged and that's where it all started!
I contacted Buytopia and asked for a replacement. They said that was not possible because that was the last one in stock. Then I asked for a refund but they claimed that they were not able to do that either because it was against their policies. So I was stuck with a broken item and customer service refused to do anything about that! What a waste of money. I will post negative reviews everywhere I can and will tell all my friends about these scam artists! Stay away from them!

Buytopia is terrible! Do not give them your money because they will scam you for good! Ordered several items from them and on the estimated date nothing arrived so I called to speak with their customer support. When I called I was immediately put on hold and told that someone will help me in 10 minutes. After 10 minutes a robotic voice told me that no one was available at the moment and asked me to call later. And every time I called the same thing happened! I still have no clue where my order is!
Agreed..someone needs to shut them down; continuously taking everyone's money and delivering nothing!

i finally got my money back from buytopia and you can as well. you need to call and speak to Peter who says he is the manager. after speaking to him since November and getting the royal run around i did get all my money back last week. i did have to tell them i would sue them and i am a lawyer.
in December Marlon's promised to refund my money. Marlon's said, and get this, they could not send me a cheque until January as they needed their accountant to do it and they did not like to keep cash in the store.
In January when no check arrived (i was not surprised) I spoke to Peter who told me they were meeting with Marlon that week and that if Marlon did not give the money back they would.
This was after Buytopia offered to give me a credit towards other purchases, told me they would sue Marlon's and if they received the money back they would then re-imburse me etc. etc. I told them i neither wanted a credit nor cared if they sued him or not that i just wanted a full refund.
After the so called meeting with Marlon, which if it did take place did not resolve matters Peter confirmed in writing I would receive a full refund which i did last week. of course that took longer than promised as buytopia claimed they "did not have enough money in their paypal account?"
BOTTOM LINE
1.buytopia will give you your money back if you are persistent.
2.do not give up and accept their excuses like it was no their fault, they lost so much money on the deal
3.the are very good at giving you the royal run around
4.tell them if they do not give you your money you will sue them in small claims court
5.sue them in small claims court.
6.when they tell you there is nothing they can do remind them the contract you made is with them and not the butcher or marlon or who ever.
To me this was a matter of principle. And quite frankly I could afford the $100 loss and spent more than that on time on this matter. However I am sure that there are 1000s of you out there who have not yet gotten anywhere with these folks because most people just give up and accept whatever Buytopia says. it is their responsibility and they are the ones who should be refunding the monies. sure Marlon's conduct has been utterly despicable. he took a ton of money and he knew he likely could not possible fulfill all the orders but i made a deal with buytopia and not marlin.

I also got scammed by Buytopia and I now need to use the tribunals. However, I need to send them a formal letter first and I can't find the address anywhere on the Canadian business registry. The addresses I have found show up on Google Maps as abandoned buildings or weird areas that don't really make sense.
Anyone has the address where to send legal notices?
I am currently going through this right now, my shipment was suppose to come early-mid December. Come January I still didn't receive anything, I went to check the tracking to find out that my shipment got sent back. Buytopia NEVER contacted me to tell me there was a problem, I sent them an email demanding to know what happened and they couldn't tell me anything and now are refusing to give me my money back.
I will definitely ask to speak to Peter, customer service at this place utterly disgraceful for a company it is now February and I have only received 3 emails from them based on my replies which has taken more than 10 days each email. I attempted to write a bad review on their Facebook page but of course... they must approve of the message first (so we all know it is never getting posted).

I contacted the company that buytopia said shipped my package because they were claiming that the shipper lost my package and they can't do anything about that.
The shipper was not able to help me. I think it was DHL if I'm not mistaken. In the end I just let it go, I spent so much time arguing with buytopia and they were refusing to give me my money back.
Buytopia is the biggest scam in the whole world. How come after so many years or ROBBING people are they still alive?! All these reviews from 2012, 2013, and yet, in 2015 they're no different. I purchased a product from them on July 7, 2015 and today's October 3rd, almost three months now, and still have not received a damn thing. I've tried calling their supposed "customer service" line and waited -not kidding- 2 hours on the phone, only to hear a recording afterwards that they "are not available to take my call" and to please "leave a message". Already sent 3 emails to support@buytopia.ca and have not received a single response. This company deserves to close once and for all to stop ripping off people. PLEASE DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM THEM AT ALL. They're SCAMMERS. If you so desperately need a deal, there's groupon for that.
Bought 2 vouchers for limo service to/from airport. Second voucher was not honored by the limo company..I was told by them that Buytopia had not paid them so they stopped honoring the vouchers. I was advised to contact Buytopia for a refund.
I thought this would be simple enough..WRONG. I had to argue and argue with several different customer service employees and a manager to finally get someone to agree that I deserved a refund! LOL. idiots.
Then, I exchanged the emails with an employee who said he was about to process the refund. He had the amount wrong and seemed completely disorganized.
It's a month and a half later. I had to dig out my old credit card statement just to see if they had given me the money back. Big surprise: NADA.
Of course, I have nothing better to do than keep track of the all the little refunds I am supposed to get and dig up old statements to see if I got them.
So another phone call and another promise to process the refund "within 72 hrs"! yay!
NEVER would I EVER purchase a thing from this piece of crap company.
I was also robbed by Buytopia. Deal was cancelled by Merchant's head office next day and they didn't bother to let me know before I drove to the merchant (weeks after purchasing but before expiry date).
Asked for a refund - they said they issued it but never did.
Called back and put on hold indefinitely - reported to Visa, Consumer Protection Branch, Better Business Bureau and looking for more to report them to. Suggestions?

Has Buytopia gone out of business? Their website is down and I cannot retrieve my vouchers. I received a letter a few days ago referring me to their old site (which not secure) and even that is non-existent.
Butyopia rocks. They actually gave me money back as well. Well they promised to. Not sure if I would every buy anything from these folks again as for months they told me there was nothing they could do. It was not their fault. They could go bankrupt over this. Well I confronted them today and said I heard they were giving refunds. They said no no no. Not true. I told them I was going to take them to Court. I am retired and have lots of time. Told me Peter was not available and to call back. They said they were making an exception as I was a senior citizen. Will let you know if the refund shows up.

You can also file a complaint with the Consumer Protection Branch but you first have to send Buytopia a demand letter,
I got my money back but it took many months, many calls, many emails and phone calls and many threats to sue.
It's unfortunate that they got taken to the cleaners by The Butcher aka Marlon but that doesn't mean it has to be on the back of the customers.
I called them today and the first guy denied giving any refunds. i then spoke to peter and he said he would look into it. i called him back in the pm and he promised he would refund my money. i had bought 2 certificates. will let you now if i get it.

Goodbuyfirst.com and buytopia.ca are sending me several emails, to confirm my delivery address, which I confirmed. They sent several more even though I have already confirmed my address.
Goodbuyfirst.com also sent me a link to "sign up" and to enter a voucher number.
However, there was no voucher number from buytopia.ca. The instructions were to re-purchase the item at a substantially higher price using a 'voucher' and to pay the extra 'taxes' applicable.
I have been charged by these companies, have asked for an update with no response and was asked for personal information and to "sign up" more without ever receiving my goods or a reply from anyone who work in these companies.

In early December, 2011, I purchased a $29 voucher for a zero-gravity, wall-climbing toy car online. When I didn't receive a confirmation for two days, I phoned buytopia.ca and was told they would get back to me that day. Two days later I received two identical confirmations via email. These confirmations instructed me to go online to www.goodbuyfirst.com after Dec. 12 and follow the instructions to place my order. Another two days later (about Dec. 8/11) I received an email from buytopia.ca telling me that because of the high volume of orders they need my shipping information to process the immediately. I replied accordingly. When Dec. 12 arrived an I still had not received a confirmation that my order had been processed, I went online to www.goodbuyfirst.com. I was unable to find any links or instructions to help me place my order. So I tried to phone that websites customer service number. The line was either busy or it would ring forever without an answer. So I phoned buytopia.ca again on Dec. 12/11 to determine the status of my order. I was told that all the orders had been processed and submitted and my car would likely be shipped the next day (today). Today I received another email from buytopia.ca saying they could not process my order until I paid an additional $3.77 for taxes. I phoned them again and got to talk to Peter, the manager, and asked him why the big run around but he just talked in circles. He tried to tell me that it was common practice for online sellers not to bill the customer for the taxes until they were ready to ship the product. This, despite the fact that I had been assured just yesterday that everything was in order and my order was being processed.

Buytopia is very unprofessional and nonchalant about customer satisfaction. I wish I had of read these complaints before I bought my item which still hasn't arrived after 6 weeks! runaround on refund
I purchased 2 vouchers in April 2011 for $198 which was to allow me $400 in products from The Butchers on Yonge/Eglinton. Apparently both Buytopia and The Butchers bit off more than they could chew as The Butchers staff were being verbally and physically abused by angry customers. They continuously changed the details in the voucher, i.e: when people could shop, the store hours and the availability of their products. I have attempted on at least 4 occasions to get a refund from Buytopia and was told that they had to contact The Butchers and have them issue me a cheque. I spoke with an employee at The Butchers and he wasn't aware of such an agreement. I then attempted to contact Buytopia again via phone but all representatives had left for the day. I sent yet another email and am still awaiting a response. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH EITHER COMPANY!
