Canada Post charged for customs clearance for unknown reason

Hi there,
Today my mom went to pick up a package of mine and was informed she needed to pay 23.67 for customs clearance charges. I have ordered from this exact website many times, the box was the same size, and it cost about the same as times previous. I am just wondering why I was charged and if it was a mistake. I don't know what information you will need but on the paper the date is 2016/12/20 and the inventory number is LZ196352605US. Let me know if you need any more information. I would really appreciate your help.

Canada Post customer service representatives are not helpful at all!

I am an avid online shopper, and unfortunately have had to have my packages delivered by Canada post on many occasions. Most cases I have had my packages delivered with no issue which is great, but the times that I have had issues it's like pulling teeth trying to get answers or explanations for my concerns from Canada Post, so I dread when my packages are being delivered by them. Most recent example: I had a package being delivered from Quebec to British Columbia and was supposed to be delivered on December 16. The package arrived in Richmond BC on December 14, but was never attempted to be delivered and for some reason arrived in Saskatoon on December 16. Thinking that they might have made a mistake and would realize in Saskatoon that they redirected by mistake I waited for the package to arrive back in Richmond. However, instead it was sent back to the company ( I presume) because the package ended up in Montreal and that is where it has stayed. I called Canada post on December 18 and spoke to a customer representative who stated to me that they would stop the package and redirect it back to me with expedited postage so that it would be delivered to me before the end of this week. She informed me that a supervisor would call me the next day with details as it was a weekend, but low and behold no one ever called me. So I waited hoping that I would see the tracking info update and the package would be redirected back to me and never was. I received a call today (Dec 22) from Canada post asking me if my package was delivered and I told them no of course not it has been stuck in Montreal and has not moved since December 18 and someone was supposed to call me to explain what was happening but never did. Needless to say the customer service representative was once again absolutely useless and proceeded to tell me the only reason he called was to "follow up" and ask me if it has been delivered and says the only thing I can do now is contact the company even though it was neither the Company's or my fault in the first place (Plus the package hasn't even been returned to them yet either. I honestly don't know why they even staff customer service representatives because they are never helpful and never find a solution that is reasonable. They always want to pass blame or responsibility on to the customer or the sending company. So long story short, the Christmas present that was supposed to be here well before Christmas will not be here, and it is very sad to note that I'm sure I'm not the only one going through this very same thing.

UPDATE: So I just received a notification that the parcel has finally made it's way back to Richmond (would of been nice of someone communicated that something was actually being done to fix this, I'm actually surprised that the rep I spoke to earlier today had no idea about any of it), figures as soon as I post a complaint and spend my whole day calling around everywhere to figure out what is happening that it finally makes its way back here. Clearly communication is a huge issue for them. Oh well I won't hold my breath for the package to be delivered before Christmas, but we shall see!

Canada Post delivery

Dec 22, 2016 at 12:22pm

Instead of coming to the door to deliver a package from Amazon, the delivery person threw the package over a railing. No attempt made to ring/knock.
No excuse for snow, there was a light dusting (No more than 2cm) and the stairs were cleared.

Never want to see that happen again!
(Luckily this item was well packaged)

Will attach security video below.
(15sec in when person gets out of vehicle)

Dec 22, 2017. Just had the same thing happen to me. I was home, in my living room when I heard the mailbox close. I went out to get what I thought was mail but it was a Parcel notice. No snow on stairs or sidewalks and the door is literally less than 7 feet from mailbox. NO KNOCK! The delivery notice said, No Answer. Well, there NO ANSWER because NO ONE KNOCKED. How I wish I could go through life and do a half-cocked job. Must be nice to be on public payroll and no accountability.

Canada Post misdelivery

In last 4 years living in Edmonton, Canada Post had more my packages and mail delivered to someone else. To whom? I do not know.
I call them and all I got is rude customer service. I did create many service tickets for missing mail or packages and got me nowhere.
I had also mailed packages and they never got delivered or got delivered; wet, ripped, open ... after 6-10 months
Even with tracking numbers got me nowhere and again rude customer service and Canada Post never follows up but almost every year they go on strike asking for pay raise

Canada Post postal delivery from china to canada (and lack thereof)

As of today december 15, I have five packages out of ten exceeding 30 days delivery from china.

1: shipped sept 25, 2016. Still waiting after 82 days.
2: shipped oct 18, 2016. Still waiting after 58 days.
3: shipped oct 24, 2016. Still waiting after 52 days.
4: shipped nov 5, 2016. Still waiting after 40 days.
5: shipped nov 11, 2016. Still waiting after 34 days.

4 items arrived in less than 30 days as usual and one arrived in 74 days (Shipped sept 16, arrived nov 29).

I have tracking numbers for half these items. Tracking stops once they are outbound to canada (Canada post decided it was too much trouble to honor tracking in its own system). Invariably, the items are out of china within one week!

What's going on, canada post?

Canada Post driver smoking in fleet vehicle

On December 13, 2016 at approx 1500hrs near Sheppard Ave E and Midland Ave. A Canada Post fleet vehicle # 36520 driven by a middle aged Asian Male was visibly seen smoking a cigarette in an "enclosed workplace" according the Smoke Free Ontario Act (SFOA)

“enclosed workplace” means,
(a) the inside of any place, building or structure or vehicle or conveyance or a part of any of them,
(i) that is covered by a roof,
(ii) that employees work in or frequent during the course of their employment whether or not they are acting in the course of their employment at the time, and
(iii) that is not primarily a private dwelling, or
(b) a prescribed place; (“lieu de travail clos”)

Section 9 of the SFOA
Prohibition
9. (1) No person shall smoke tobacco or hold lighted tobacco in any enclosed public place or enclosed workplace. 2005, c. 18, s. 9.

As an employer you are also obligated to ensure your employee does not smoke in the "enclosed workplace"

employer obligations
(3) Every employer shall, with respect to an enclosed workplace or a place or area mentioned in subsection (2) over which the employer exercises control,
(a) ensure compliance with this section;
(b) give notice to each employee in an enclosed workplace or place or area that smoking is prohibited in the enclosed workplace, place or area in a manner that complies with the regulations, if any;
(c) post any prescribed signs prohibiting smoking throughout the enclosed workplace, place or area over which the employer has control, including washrooms, in the prescribed manner;
(d) ensure that no ashtrays or similar equipment remain in the enclosed workplace or place or area, other than a vehicle in which the manufacturer has installed an ashtray;
(e) ensure that a person who refuses to comply with subsection (1) or (2) does not remain in the enclosed workplace or place or area; and
(f) ensure compliance with any other prescribed obligations. 2005, c. 18, s. 9.

I find the employee acted very unprofessional and in my opinion a disgrace to any level of Government employees. He represents Canada Post and the Federal Government with his action in uniform and operating a marked fleet vehicle was unacceptable.

Please see to this and ensure your fleet vehicles are marked with "no smoking signs" and I would appreciate if Canada Post conduct more training to their employees and remind them of their status when they put on their uniform and operating a fleet vehicle.

Thank you.

Canada Post delivery cancelled by canada post

Nov 29th and 30th/2016 I placed orders with walmart canada. A few days later I started tracking my orders with canada post, they said delivery by dec 5 give or take. Canada post email also said my orders were in transit. Nov 12 I received 2 emails from walmart stating my orders were cancelled, 1/2 hour later I received 2 more emails walmart had received back my large orders and were crediting our card. I did not cancel after talking to walmart for a very long time they informed canada post had cancelled my 2 orders and sent them back to walmart. How can this be, first there in transit I didn't receive the orders, then canada post decides to send my items back, these items are for christmas, so how and why can canada post send them back?

Canada Post 10 days for stamps and counting... unacceptable!!

10 days for stamps and they're still not here!

Ordered stamps online since I didn't want to wait at the post office in the long Christmas lines. Ordered the stamps on November 30th. It's now the 8th and my mail has been delivered with still no stamps.

Worse still, I called customer service to cancel the order since I now had no choice but to go to the post office and wasted an hour of my time with 4 separate agents that I was escalated to only to hear the same nonsense from all of them. They WON'T CANCEL my order and when the stamps do arrive, I'll have to go back to the post office to return them - UNBELIEVABLE!

It is shameful to see how our tax dollars are so clearly wasted on inefficient, archaic forms of bureaucracy which only serve those who are employed by it. To think that I subsidize the wages for the employees who so quickly and artfully said "NO" to every reasonable request I made. I simply wanted my money back so I could buy some stamps for the mountain of christmas cards that are sitting at my door waiting to be mailed. Instead, I'm left with a horrible taste in my mouth about how our Canadian institutions service their clients - shamefully!

Moving forward, I will do everything to avoid ever having to put any money into Canada Post and I can assure you I will no longer be supporting any of their campaigns.

Amazon can get you heavy items in a day, Canada Post can't mail stamps in 10 days...UNACCEPTABLE!

WORST SERVICE EVER!
I WILL NEVER USE YOU AGAIN!

Canada Post postal worker

Hi
I am writing because I would like to request a different postal worker.
This male postal worker just delivered my mail today at around 10:15am. This mail man is totally incompetent and rude. see ticket#[protected].
He previously had delivered a wrong item to me. I called the post office about it and they were supposed to pick it back up. I left the item in my mailbox( in a zipper bag). It was never picked up. I ended up having to put the item in the Canada Post mailbox over by Shoppers.
Then today this male postal worker copped an attitude with me because of a previous issue stating that the item that was supposed to be picked up wasn't in the mail box, but yet it was. When I explained to him that it had been there for 2 days, he said "whatever!"Then he tried to deliver a mail item addressed to 4934 McRae to my address, which is 4934 Armoury St. I politely explained his mistake and he just sighed.
This guy doesn't pay attention to his job and clearly doesn't care about doing his job properly. Considering the huge wages that these people get paid, that's really sad! I get paid minimum wage and I am more conscientious and reliable than he is.

Canada Post priority package not delivered on time

I had to mail passport documents for rush processing for Russian passport. The documents had to be delivered by December 5th in order to be processed before my current passport expired, otherwise additional documentation would be required which would take a whole year to process.
I mailed the documents with Canada Post Priority on December 1, guaranteed to be delivered on December 2nd (tracking #: MD [protected] CA). The tracking system online showed that the package was going to be delayed, expected to be delivered on December 5th. On December 5th at 10am, the tracking showed that there was a processing error and the package was "rerouted" with no update on when it will be delivered. I called customer service and after being on hold for 20 minutes, a very rude customer service rep told me the same information that I already knew from tracking the package online, told me it will be delivered late and keep checking online and hung up before I could ask any questions.
I phoned customer service back and after being on hold for another 15 minute another Customer Representative was only able to submit a ticket about my situation, while she could not tell me any additional information and because it was the end of the business day, no one else could be reached to track down the package or have any further action on the delivery.
There is no accountability for a service that Canada Post claims to be guaranteed. The package is now 2 days late for a service that is guaranteed to be delivered overnight. If you promise to treat this package as a priority, then why has there been no action on the delivery of the package for over 12 hrs?

Now that this package did not get delivered as promised, I cannot renew my passport for a whole year and thanks to Canada Post, I will not see my family for over a year. Merry Christmas.

Canada Post holiday shipping

Ok, Xmas isn't new, Black Friday isn't new and neither is Caber Monday. For you guys to use this as an excuse and your overwhelmed with the amount of packages...guess what...it's what you do and these dates are always here. You complain revenue is down, no one using Canada Post...boo hoo..now it's we have too much business, so we all have to wait . News flash some, of the mail isn't for Christmas, some of us are needing the things we purchase for right now, which is why we pay extra for faster shipping..Gee thanks for a refund in my shipping...what a frickin waste of money for you. I couldn't care less about a refund. Refunds do not get my package to me when I want it for. A thirteen hour drive distance should not take a week for Expresspost. I hope the businesses start taking notice and use the other shippers out there. No place on website to contact other than a huge wait on phone and all I get is an I'm sorry...Well it's not the person on the phone I want a piece of, they didn't do anything wrong, they're just answering the phone...How about you get upper management handling the calls that they caused. This time of year you should always be prepared and have more staff on, and delivery on weekends, and that means packages don't sit overnight until the morning staff comes in. I'm so frustrated with you guys.

Canada Post return of destroyed calendar with no reimbursement

On November 15, 2016, I sent a calendar and Christmas card to my cousin in Dorset, England. The price of the calendar was $17.00 and the postal cost was $18.44. I mailed it from the pharmacy at the Kingston Centre in Kingston.
Today (December 1) Canada Post delivered to me the destroyed calendar with no apology although they did regret the inconvenience. I was not reimbursed the cost of the calendar nor the postal cost.
I phoned Canada Post Customer Care Service and was told there was nothing that could be done since I did not have the tracking number. I suggested that since I had the destroyed item and postal information (the bar code) and would be willing to take it to the post office so I could be reimbursed there. Apparently this was not possible. I asked who I could complain to and was told that she was not aware that this was a possibility.
I have now located the Complaints Board and hope you can suggest a solution.
Sincerely,
Richard Myers

Canada Post service issues

The most inconvenient hours I've ever seen. Only open 9am to Noon then their 2 hour lunch (sometimes 2.5 hours) then from 2pm to 5pm. Anyone in this area who works an office job can't be in 2 places at once. Did I mention they're only open weekdays! This is the Richer MB post office! Where no one with a full-time job can get their packages! Even if you do get a day off to pick up a package, the person (only 1 worker) is either late from their extended lunch or they changed their open hours again to for their lunch holiday.

Canada Post mail not delivered

I had a package being delivered to me overseas and on the day it was out for delivery (Nov. 23), the tracking suddenly changed from "Out for delivery" to "Incomplete address - returned to sender". Luckily for me, the sender took a picture of the package prior to sending it and after carefully checking it letter by letter, I can say with 100% certainty that my address was complete and accurate. The postal code and house # had no error. I've received around 10 packages from the sender over the years and always used the same address without fail. The sender used a printed shipping label and it was sent via priority shipping line. So I have no clue why Canada Post decided to send it back to sender when the address was fine. I called Canada Post within 20 minutes and the rep is not sure why either stating the label could have been water damaged and become unreadable. I'm assuming Canada Post doesn't keep recipient address on file or anything because it was a pre-printed label and required signature on delivery because if they did, then it's blatant incompetence to return the package to sender without confirming it was a incomplete address.

After talking with a Canada Post worker, they said whoever handled it was lazy and probably incompetent. The package should have been put on hold or put aside to confirm the address. Instead...it was sent immediately back to sender on the same day it was out for delivery. Coincidentally, the same thing happened to a friend of a friend. After searching online, this happened to a few other people around the same time. So maybe we're all victims of the same lazy employee or something is wrong with CanadaPost's process recently.

Now I have to wait at least 3 weeks for it to be returned overseas then another 3 weeks to get it back, and at that point its the Christmas rush which usually means delays. I won't get my package for at least another 2 months or probably until early next year...ugh

Canada Post ark: survival evolved

I was playing the above mentioned game, and I found a bunch of dinosaurs that belonged to someone else, however due to the owner away for 8 days they were about to be up for re-adoption. I was so excited to be able to have a super cool Dino with wings and I told all of my friends. One of them quickly realized I was talking about his old base and said something along the lines of, "That's my base you idiot" and I made a frowny face IRL. When I tried to explain that I didn't know he said, "gosh you are denser than poutine." Confused and sad, I just decided to lay down and let my character slowly starve as we both wondered what poutine is. He never even said sorry :(

Canada Post customer service phone number

I called this phone number listed on Canada Post's General Inquiries section.
[protected]) It took me to a survey. I hanged up at first thinking I dialed the wrong number. I called again, finished the survey thinking I will now talk to someone in Canada Post, but it connected me to a Cruise Line company in Florida. And that woman was very rude when I told here I am not interested in a cruise!
Is there a working phone number to ask questions of Canada Post in Mississauga?

Canada Post service/letter carrier

An express post (guarantied 2 business days) envelope was mailed October 31st 2016 from Hawkesbury Ontario to Burlington Ontario. We kept checking the tracking number, "processing" was what we got. Tried to phone but that was no use! Finally saw our mail carrier, he had already been to our house and was at another when we stopped him and said "you have a package for us?" He looked through his bag and guess what our package was in his bag. The sender requested a "signature required". He just handed me the package and off he continued! He didn't even ask for our signature.
This is not the first time we have had missing mail! I am also missing a package that was sent from Hamilton Ontario.
