Disrespectful behaviour of butler/customer service personnel
I'm a regular customer at Food City, Dalada Street Kandy. Once I had kept some extremely heavy bags I was carrying in the Food City bags counter and it took a while for me to get back in & do the shopping I wanted to do. When I went to retrieve the bags, the guard in the traditional-looking white uniform yelled at me accusing that I left the bags here for too long & bought "only a small item here, and a lot from Keells" (I had a Keells cloth bag with me). Lol!
In fact that other supermarket he refers to so spitefully, has never treated me in this way when I'm there, for perhaps they have a better leadership and the staff are made to understand that their customers are valuable to them & so deserve to be treated in a particular way.
A soft-spoken young girl all by myself, I can't help wondering a bit, whether this typical Sri Lankan guy would have treated a big burly man or a big fat woman with a loud mouth in this same way I was treated. Probably he would have second thoughts about the wisdom of being so openly insulting?
Shocked as I am at his loud invectives, I'm perplexed at the logic of this worthy guard, who thought that the best way to induce customers to shop more at Cargills Food City Kandy was to yell at them out loud in the hearing of everyone at the slightest evidence that they'd bought more from a different supermarket.
Desired outcome: Probably it'll help if personnel recruited to serve at Food City are taught to exercise proper manners and polite behaviour towards customers.
Unethical cashier behaviour
At Dalugama branch, today we gave a Rs.5000 note for a Rs.701 bill. The cashierer, whose name is Supun gave us remaining in several number of notes (7*500+6*100+2*50+4*20+coins) So that we asked him to let us have Rs.1000 notes if it is possible even from the other cashier. He said us in an unethical way if you want you go and change I can’t do your work and stuff. After that also he behaved very unethically towards the situation and he doesn’t have an inch of respect towards the customers. Even before billing, we had to ask twice from him whether there’s stock of Milk powder since he didn’t bother to answer but just answering by swinging head side by side. This is very unethical and very unprofessional. After some argument he even complained us on giving a Rs.5000 note for a Rs.700 bill. Please look into this and you can even check the CCTV cameras to witness his unethical behaviour. This should be solved if not the name that you are maintaining will be spoiled just because of one employer of yours. If they are customer service agents, they have the responsibility to meet the inquiries and the problems of the customers. Only the interference of the manager could shut his mouth and stop his unethical behaviour. Even infront of him he argued with us in a very bad manner. The best part is after all the chaos the other cashier gave us change and treated us really well.

Dear Sir/Madam,
I would like the authorities to take a disciplinary action towards your sales associate Ruvani and the Female security person of the Cargills Meepe branch.
Today we went to shop in good faith at this location. As we are environmentally conscious and trying to reduce plastic, we took our cloth veggie bags with us and weighed the veggies and pasted the sticker on our cloth bag.
The lady supervisor and the weighing person was very kind did as our lifestyle requirements. Second time we took tomatoes to weigh, the associate Ruvani hinted how they are supposed to weigh without the plastic bag, to the weighing person, to which we responded that we are trying to reduce plastic consumption, we will put these in our own cloth bag and paste the sticker on the cloth.
We left the area and we went to look for soy sauce, my mother saw this associate Ruvani speaking to the lady security person.
The lady security person came up to me, I had my 8mo old baby in a baby carrier, she told me that due to corona babies are not allowed in the store without a mask, to which I responded that I didn't see a policy in your store and the security at the gate never mentioned this to me, my infant is breastfed and 8mo old, I'm not in a position to put a mask on the baby nor leave the baby at home since it's only me and my mother in my household during day time. She said to quickly shop and go.
My mother saw the sales associate Ruvani talking to the lady security, we speculated that due to our refusal of plastic bag usage, she showed us her power out of spite.
Please educate your associate on different customer lifestyles such as sustainable living etc and to stop harassing and discriminating mothers with infants out of spite.

Cashier over charged
i would like to make a complaint about your super market .i did purchase some items , i was charged over price when i asked abut that cashiers was telling me she did not know that. I am not happy with customer service the answer she gave me ..
i think this is not good for your company image if you staff treat the customers like that way at least she should have apologized from the customer what she has done

Kindly be informed that the cashier lady in maligawatta brunch, she never enter customer telephone numbers to get star points,
It’s happened to me twice, finally today I ash her to enter my membership number which is mobile number before I pay the bill, and I saw her she type wrong number to the system, she just pretend her self she entered,
Then I ask her which name apiered in the system, she did not mentioned anything
I am 100% sure she entered her telephone number to get the star points, please ask her not to do again,

Bad behavior of security boy ratnapura main branch
When I entered to the parking space, security guy talking with his friend and do his own things. He doesn't care about customers and NO help to park the vehicle. Finally we had argued and he talked to me arrogant way. Very impolitely. Parking space is the first impression that shows your business image. train them well. train them how to deal with the customer. I never faced this kind of difficulty in other branches at Ratnapura city

Billing problem - kiribathgoda 3
Hi, I am your regular customer. I went to Kiribathgoda 3 outlet on 13th January to purchase some kind of medicine. The pharmacy lady told me the bill was Rs 425.50. She punched my debit card and told me that the receipt was not received, so check my mobile alert. Because she knows the billing machine has an error. So I show her, my payment was realized and I got the message alert from the Bank. But she gave my card to another cashier who is Nirosha. Nirosha punched it second time unauthorized manner and then, the money transfer a second time. I have paid about Rs 851.00 as total instead of 425.50. She pledged me second transaction is returned as soon as possible. Since I called so many times to her but it has never happened. I have confused about your service now. So, I have decided I will never go to cargills foodcity until I get some solution.

Bad behaviour of the staff
I am one of the regular customers of Norris Canal Road branch-Colombo 10. Every day I have to face bad difficulties. When I compare the staff with other branches The staff at the Norris Canal Road branch is awful. Their customer service is very poor and I think the main reason for that is poor training. Please train them well and train them on how to deal with the customer.In addition, they do not know how to put the product in a separate bag, as an example, yesterday (11.01.2022) one boy put a bottle of surgical spirits together with the baby's food. Everyone from security guards to cashiers should be well trained. If you can, Please come infront of this branch and ask the customers about their experiences. I am sure that you will be able to collect more complaints.
Product pricing
Prices mentioned on the shelf and MRP prices mentioned on the product do not match. Customers are inconvenienced during checkout due a sudden increase in the total.

I 'm tje one of daily customer in your Pokunuwita Junction branch. We are attattending to purchase our daily needs according to our budget. But on the sshowcase price are different than the counter and alwast have to argue with counter for different prices. This case happened severaly but workers are not care about raised matter. Ex- prices are on the sshowcase Marmite Rs325. Cow & gate cheese slices Rs 295 and tea Rs 295. When produce to to counter Marmite Rs400. Cow&gate cheess slices Rs795. & Tea Rs 350 or else. More than six occasion iys happened and while arguing about different price, the workers & counters many stories to tell us. If its happened only ones it would be a mistake. Butore than six occasion means workers are neglecting their correct work according to the Law and regulations. Here I request you to consider the raised matter for not happen any argument or else.

This complain is regarding billing over MRP at park road foodcity. Chicken MRP was 670. But billed to 690 both by cashier and butcher. Again chichen MRP was 590. But billed to 690. Pears baby soap MRP 67, But billed to 74, signal toothbrush MRP 110, But billed to 114. Reason gave was the price hike. Can u sell them above product of MRP? VERY UNPLEASANT experience. This happened to me several times. Also complained to manager. But still park road foodcity steals money like this

The. Rice sold as supiri keeri samba for 235 /- at teldeniya express is inferior normal boiled samba rice that contain even foreign objects like some black residue, sand and small pellets of rubble too.
This sort of rice could be bought elsewhere at 150/-

Service is poor
I was wrongly billed on 16/11/2021. Call the Panadura store No 1 and hot line 7 times but no response. Bill no 166 the item 16 in not valid since I bought only item 17. And item 18 erroneously refunded but it should be billed. Hence I've lost Rs. 150/-. Please rectify the bill and if possible please credit the Rs. 150 to my Cargils Customer card of which is under the phone number [protected]. Thank you.

Balangoda cargills food city doesn't have counter for the Pharmacy. Because of that Pharmacy man is doing such disgusting things. Very poor quality service from him. To buy some medicines need to be visited more than twice.
Desired outcome: To place a counter for the Pharmacy & give a training course to pharmacist regarding how to deliver customer delightful service.

I wish to bring to your notice an extremely unpleasant incident that I faced while shopping at Cargills food city, Pollonaruwa (near District General Hospital, Polonnaruwa) on 18/10/2021 at approximately 4.30pm.
I was at the cashier billing the items I purchased when a man came to the queue behind me. After a while he started dropping few items on display at cashier counter on to the items I have selected to buy which was at cashier counter being billed. The cashier mistakenly tried to bill one item this person dropped. I informed the cashier that I did not wish to buy that item but this person dropped it into my stack of goods. Since the cashier did not inform this person not to do so, I told him not to drop items to my stack of items. Then this person and his associate started verbally abusing me.
I asked the cashier for the manager. 1st two times she did not respond. The 3rd time she pointed to a male person (not on uniform) tending at the next cash register as the assistant manager. The abusive person heard me asking for the manager and the verbal abuse got worse to the point of using Sinhalese slangs. The assistant manager asked what happened when the abusive person gave an explaination in bad language when the assistant manager APOLLOGISED THE ABUSER and asked the cashier to carefully bill my items. When the billing and payment finished, I spoke to the assistant manager again and informed that they should not allow the innocent customers in such manner in =side the shop. His explanation was that the abuser is a customer so as I and the two men were drunk and that is why they are behaving in such manner, and indicated it should be excused.
The verbal rant went on for about 10 minutes inside your shop. I think it is needless for me to explain to you how daunting it was for me. What is more daunting is the way your staff behaved towards the abusive person. I gathered your team at polonnaruwa has no training or experience in managing such incident which is very shameful and unprofessional.
I will personally make sure that myself or my family will not continue to be your customers in future if a proper action, training, education for staff is not arranged, so that another female does not face this in the future.
